Out on a morning caching jaunt with the prime objective of picking off some caches needed for a couple of challenges I have underway. Overshooting the turnoff to the GZ I was able to turn around and back track. Parked the car, read the plaque, found the cache. Thanks GlennandMagsPhilip#5578Found using Cachlymsc_20, formerly caching as msebn
Set out today for a goal of 1000 caches. Headed off from Rotorua detouring around seeing where we end up, appreciate the cache!

People have left some here but it's a nice pic nic area under the tree. Greetings from Germany.
Quick find and the last one for today.#2250 - Mar 4, 2024TFTC GlennandMagsPhilip
Make a little detour to Rotoorangi Road on my way to Cambridge for the week end. Thanks GlennandMagsPhilip for the cache.
I took my newly met trackable for a short trip between shifts at work today. ive named her missy mooloo while she travels with me. Nawty missy mooloo stole my drink when we stopped at this resting spot. We had a look at the appreciation plaque under the trees too. A nice easy find. Thankyou for the series. I will be back another day to hunt for the one that alluded me.
A delightful start to our most exciting adventure and a perfect spot to have a picnic and lashings of ginger beer. We were just chuffed that Aunt Fanny had given us some freshly baked scones.
Energised by our hearty meal we soon discovered the first clue accompanied by a communal congratulatory back slap.
Shall we head off to the next one?
Rather!

2.45pm. A pleasant drive through the farm land. Nice quick find to start this series.
Thank you. David and Noeline.

Loved this series set on a quietish country road. Nice off-road spot for a cache here - was asking for one really! TFTC
Called in here on the way back at this cute little rest stop, nowhere else it could be with that hint. As per usual it took longer to extract the log than to locate it.
We are in L3 step down with reduced restrictions and I'm hoping this includes geocaching. I have sanitiser and gloves with me and I'm on my own so hopefully that's acceptable.
Nice little spot. I'd driven past here recently for work but was not abke to stop at the time.

Found it. We live in the area but never actually stopped here. Nice little place.
It has been a long time since Team SEAC did a numbers day, so we jumped on the chance to join when Keylev initiated this day. We started at 8 am and got home around 11 pm, and attempted most caches in Cambridge, Te Awamutu and finishing with a night cache in Huntly. On our mission today was Keylev, UncleSamNZ, Liverkiwi, Draffin, B4Dawn and HeMaLuDy. Caches were signed with SEAC to save space.
We missed the entry to this area as we headed down the road, but we knew we would need to come back this way so we stopped in on our way back past. Some of us were keener than others and didn't really wait for the car to stop before jumping out. We made a quick find and on to the next one.

Like the Willy Nelson song, Team SEAC were On The Road Again. It had been quite a while since we had gathered to go on a road trip, so a trip to Cambridge was organised to clear out that town. All logs signed as S.E.A.C to preserve log space.
We all pulled into this rest stop right next to GZ and started our search. With not too many hiding places that required the hint, the cache was quickly found.

My first full day with Team SEAC! Very excited and a little intimidated! Very fun!

It had been quite a while since Team SEAC had been on a caching road trip together so a plan was hatched for a day trip to clear out Cambridge. It was a long but fun day, as we cleared out Te Awamutu as well, with the promise of not leaving it so long before our next roadie. All caches were signed SEAC to save space.
This was find #27 for the day. We got this one on the way back from the others so we were on the right side of the ride for the rest stop. B4Dawn was almost jumping out of the car before it had stopped to race over to GZ TFTC!

A number of Team SEAC banded together for a road trip day out targeting Cambridge and surrounds and ending up with a night cache. As per usual there were laughs, dramas, cache finding and a generally fun day!
Stopped for this one on the way back on our trail path so it was easier to turn into the rest area. B4Dawn scared me a little when he hopped out of the car as I was still slowing down to a stop....he was KEEN!! Cache soon found, log signed and we were on our way.
Thanks for the cache.

Nahkins and I decided to do the Roto-o-rangi caches. We were racing the weather. This one was the last. I found it as Nahkins went to read the Plaque. Nice easy find but more difficult to put logsheet back. After we did this one we had coffee and muffins courtesy of ourselves. TFTc.
It actually started to rain.

Decided to meet up with NZPatoto at Roro-o-rangi school to get 6 more smiles. We were going to bike, however with the dodgy weather I said I would drive. Glad we did because as we where having a coffee & muffin it poured down and we would of got wet. Instead we could sit in the car and stay dry and have a catch up & laugh. Found the 6 we had on our list.6 of 6 Found by NZPatoto Easy find. I went and read the plaque that goes with the trees and then made the coffee. Overall was a good day out in the fresh air. TFTC
Thanks GlennandMagsPhilip for the cache. It’s #1432 for us. We found your cache on 23 February 2021. Quick find in the road to Rotorangi.
Pulled into rest area to find young couple 'parking up' mid-afternoon. I'd barely stopped when there was a mad scramble, and they were gone, leaving the way clear for me to find the cache exactly where I expected it to be. Tftc!

Couldn't resist doing these caches whilst we were in the area. The Enid Blyton’s Famous Five books are a must read for all children. Great books, so we were keen to collect the series. One down four and a bonus to go. TFTC

Was told about these caches a year ago when staying at the owners but published 2 day after leaving the area. Glad to be back and get then off the list. Remember a cache in this park from years ago TFTC
Nice easy find for the kids, who are reading Famous Five! Thanks for the find
Out caching with nufrat in Hamilton and Cambridge today. Quick find. TFTC.
======== NZ Mega 2020 ========
NZ Mega 2020 is definitely happening, but has been postponed until 2021. It will be held in Auckland over Labour Weekend, 22 to 25 October 2021. It's going to be a massive celebration of geocaching:
20+ years of geocaching worldwide.
20+ years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
All the 20s and now 21 as well!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of this event - you won't want to miss it!

Out and about in the area for a few days, stopped to visit this one on our way. We searched in a couple of obvious place with no luck and with no internet connection we could not read the hint or confirm if anyone had found it recently. Only after after a further more thorough search did we eventually locate the sneaky hide. Great little series TFTC.
Doing the wonders of the world today. Nice spot here. Miss it on way past. Tftc
Out and about grabbing a few. Sorry for the late logs. I don't recall any issues with this find.
TFTC GlennandMagsPhilip, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 5 find(s) of 5 today, making this find #2191

needed time out and something normal to do, with almost no one on the roads it was a pleasant ride today, no sign pointing to this nice little area, a quick find but took a well earned break here, tftc
**Found on our way home from a February - March tour around the South Island. Logging back home in Auckland in Lockdown isolation**
We spent last night at the Otorohanga NZMCA camp, and today are travelling home to Auckland after 8 weeks on the road. Perfect timing, as it turned out, as NZ went into Alert Level 2 that day. We spotted the ? icon on the map, and decided to do this series on the way. A quick find of the cache here, thanks.

Heading down to see my mother so thought to grab a few outlying caches along the way, early in the morning so no issue with the traffic
Well now that we are all in lockdown its a chance to catch up on the logging that I have been dutifully ignoring for the past several months. Thanks to all the cache owners that placed these out there

Travelling back home from Auckland and knew I wouldn't make this mornings event but arranged to meet up with Squirrel Nutcase and 2 of his family members in Huntly.
Once again the plan was to circle around the Waikato. The starting point was the new yet not completed Expressway.
This cache took us longer to find the the others. SLTFTC

With Gap (of Fap and Gap), and nieces... The plan for today was to complete another sweep of the Waikato to clear some newish, and not so new hides. We have quite an ambitious route and a lot to do. By the time we met up with Gap, it was already mid morning...
Our last find in this series, and we assumed that this hide would be like the others - It wasn’t! Thanks GlennandMagsPhilip and TFTC.

A nice little rest stop. The perfect place to have a bite to eat, give the dogs a run, work out the co-ordinates of the mystery final, and reminisce about reading the Famous Five books in our childhood. TFTC
Found with Polargirl and the geodogs, because we had a bit extra time we sat at the table and worked out the mystery cache for the series.
Neat spot little rest spot..the cache was soon found ..nicely placed...signed and replaced as found...thanks for the cache Glen & mags
First in the series and first find for the day. Still remember reading the books as a child. Quick find while the area was deserted. TFTC
After an impromptu deviation to Waihi, we finally made it to our original destination! What a surprise to find this rest stop here. No prying eyes above today. Thanks for the cache
A nice lunch spot to rest with a seriously good red velvet cheesecake brownie! TFTC!
Working in Cambridge today so off to get a cache on the way home. Salhud was just leaving as I arrived. tftc
I always thought this little spot needed a geocache.
Thanks for your new series of caches. My helper and I read all the famous five books when he was younger.
Tfgc.

Find number 6767. Saw these pop up last night but not in a hurry to pick up as I had my FTF for February so it was a leisurely morning before coming for a drive. I had a car right behind me so I missed the parking but after a U-turn further on I was able to park up and soon had the cache in hand. Thank you for the placement.
TFTC finally finished a challenge. Left the rest of the Famous Five FTFs for the Waikato cachers.
