My boss has sent me to work from the Feilding office today, and I'm happy to take my own car because it means I can take rest stop(s!) along the way.I've been finding a waypoint or two per Feilding deployment and finally finished it off last month. I took the long way home today with a detour to find this one. Once at GZ, my needle couldn't figure out of out wanted to go round the corner or stay on the street. I found a possible finding spot round the corner which was empty, but then noticed this thing again on the street side which was more successful and i was soon signing the log. Thanks for the hide, and the tour of things to do!
Nice hide, have been at that location for a number of time over the years.Went for a drive to get some caches I normally drive by. Since a nice day, I decided to get some.TFTC cheers zl2sga.
We needed to try and get the March Equinox Souvenir so the hunt was on for three local caches. This was number two. We do not go finding caches that often, but when a souvenir is up for grabs we give it a go. Dad and the kids drove around the places as stated and found the clues ok, all except for the railway station as that sign appears to have gone. Good news we were quite sure of the other questions, so the checksum got us there. All good with the container, signed and dated with Minecraft lad. Thanks Phronimos
Well I found out what to do in Fielding, thank you Phronimos. After a very busy Leap Day yesterday I decided to stay in Fielding and hit some of the shields. However a leisurely wander to get 4 of these points and breakfast was the slow start to the day. Naturally I needed to finish the other two and hit GZ before heading out of town. Like others, I was a bit confused by the Coach Museum question but checksum is your friend. TFTC Phronimos, great way to start the day.
I have not quite finished this multi at my previous visit, so welcomed the occasion to do so. Great spot for the final away from all the muggles, at least when I visited! TFTC!!South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - MEGA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!
Easter weekend, and with the paradox that only family can create, I both need to be in Wanganui and not in Wanganui at the same time. Today I spent the morning with family and then was able to free up the afternoon, so once again it was off a-geocaching I did go. Quite a few DNFs today, but still managed to sign 51 logs today.
A nice wander around town, although to be fair the only thing I've ever done in Fielding is Geocaching.
Thanks to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
Oh... I thought the only thing to do in Feilding was to find geocaches!
The Railway Station and Museum waypoints seem to need updating.
So after asking the helpful staff at the museum where the John Deer hay baler had gone ( it's replacement bright green plough can also supply the required number), and using the checksum I was able to calculate the final.
Waited til after 5pm to go to GZ which was fairly quiet but still required stealth.
TNLNSL TFTMulti which provides lots of things to do in Feilding!

Had a bit of time up our sleeves so time to tick off a few things to do in Fielding, the number one thing has to be Geocaching!!
Worked out the final and were soon at GZ scoping out possible spots, Christmas day is perfect as there is no one about, bit of a feel and soon had the cache in hand.

#13,377. An interesting tour to find things to do in Feilding, traversing Aorangi Street, Kimbolton Road, Manchester Square, South Street, and Manchester Street. With all clues finally collected, we managed to get the checksum to agree. Yay! So off we went to the final GZ, which was fortunately all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

We collected most of the information required on a previous visit to Feilding, and today we visited the railway station to check the last value, although we had deduced it from the check sum. The sign wasn't out, but we found the necessary word, which agreed with our deduction. The interestingly hidden cache was then a fairly quick find, in a deserted location today. TFTC
I decided on this multi after seeing that the waypoints weren't too far apart to walk (GAR had the car for the morning at an event in Foxton). I didn't do them in order though and the posted co-ordinates were number 3 or 4 of the waypoints visited, only to not find the item I needed to look for. I managed to find all the other answers though and hoped that the number I was missing could be gleaned form the checksum - crossing fingers the other numbers were correct. I didn't have time to walk to GZ though before GAR came to pick me up - he was earlier than I thought - but had him drive me to GZ because I didn't want all my efforts to go to waste. Delighted to find a cache container at the coordinates I worked out - whew! Thanks for bringing me to interesting spots in Feilding this Easter Sunday Phronimos!
After logging a did not find earlier today this cache got the better off me. After the cache owner massaging me and reassuring me the cache was there I headed back for another look and sure enough I had the cache in hand in no time. Sometimes all it takes is to step away clear ya head and start again. Thank for the message of reassurance and Thanks for the multi.
In Feilding with Mrs Popmac for lunch with a friend. Thanks Phronimos for this multi cache.
Thanks to this CO for a post-message check on the cache after I failed to (log DNF) find last evening. Better informed, and encouraged, I was able to make a quick find and sign the log tonight, cheers P.
Headed into Feilding for the second day in a row with a couple of items on my agenda to knock off. I realised earlier that this time last year I was in lockdown (again) in Auckland and had a 2 week hiatus from finding, hence a few days in Feb and early March had not been converted to 10+ which was last years finds per day goal. I also wanted to find a few of the 'Awesome' series as I'd read up on the caches earlier and was interested. Finally I was keen to avenge a non-logged DNF on Things to do in Feilding. The stat-nerd in me realised that if I made 6 finds I could finish on 14222, this year being all about the 2. Finally, I was willing to go to Hell and back for a pizza for dinner. All targets met and ended up meeting one of the COs for the Awesome caches.

5 February 2022 12:39. Started this whilst waiting for BFG & D to drive up from Wellington. Took them round the last couple of points (none of us could find a single digit for X, so the checksum was much appreciated!) Wasn't sure of the final, but decided to give it a go anyway. Most unusually for this weekend, this was found by me in the second location checked! TFTC, now to try to find somewhere to eat lunch, hopefully out of the rain!
Fun drive around Feilding with Infoferret and Denomynator. GZ look unpromising, and we’d misread X so were relying on the checksum to sort us… but turned into quick find TFTC Phronimos!
Found with barefootguru and Infoferret on a very wet geocaching weekend. Good to explore Feilding! TFTC Phronimos
Fun day out with the family. Solving puzzles, finding caches, iceblocks and subway for lunch. Great fun wandering around and a pretty easy find at the end. Tftc
As a local Feilding resident this one was overdue to do.
A beautiful sunny day, out with Kelly0 and kids. The GZ was not where I expected but the cache was soon in hand.

Found with trayc.g and the rest of the family on a day out here. Was fun gathering the info but I was definitely ready for lunch by the time it was over. TFTC
Left home at 6.30am for a pre Xmas adventure to complete my goal for the year…365/6 for the year end. Only had 25 left so after spending some time in the Sanson area we made our way to Fielding for some lunch before heading homewards again via Halcombe. We decided this multi was a good idea before we ate. Didn’t take us long to get around the waypoints even though WP1 stumped us at the start but we thought as long as we don’t have any more trouble we could figure out the missing number from the checksum. Luckily everything went well and we soon had the final destination plugged in and we were off! Had a little poke around here and there before I stood back and thought hmmmmm where would the CO hide this…I bet it’s there and yes there it was. Great spot! TFTC
This cache took four visits to point A and two to another point but otherwise I got all the info quite easily... well aside from being a little off on another minor point which threw my check sum until the CO helped.
At GZ the find took slightly longer than it should have.
I'm glad to have finally found this cache - caching being the main thing that ever brings me to Feilding.
I decided to get out for some fresh air and picked a few caches in Feilding for a walk. The wind got me though and the mission was drawn down to four of which I found two, DNF'ed one and gave up early on another (ironically the first cache).

I found myself staying in Palmerston North last night, and feeling no great rush to get home today I decided to head up to Feilding to do some caching up there as it's not a place I get to often enough.
By this time of the afternoon I was almost ready to start making my way home, but there's always the pull of 'one last quick cache' so I detoured to make my way to this one. I think the weather kept enough people away to make my searching nicely uninterrupted, although I could not locate the sign needed for A. Undeterred, I continued to collect the other bits of info and then used the checksum to reverse engineer the number I needed.
I was the only car in the street as I parked up close to GZ. This made searching easy, although I over-complicated things for myself in looking for hiding spots. I forgot the KISS mantra, but a quick PAF sorted me out and shortly afterwards I had signed the log, replaced it all back as found, and was finally heading for home.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Thanks Phronimos. I did find the final .late Saturday afternoon so no muggles. The steam train was at the station with lots of excited passengers on board. Tftc
A is all sorted now. All signage was removed and the building repainted. New sign, new location. Checked Final as well where all is good.
Coordinates changed from:
S 40° 13.571 E 175° 34.112
Coordinates changed to:
S 40° 13.603 E 175° 34.127
Distance from original: 207.1 feet or 63.1 meters.
First waypoint as originally published now removed. This is the same, but other end of the building.

I gathered the info over three visits to Feilding, although like the previous logger I couldn't find A despite two attempts. I tried to work out the final from the check sum but the calculated GZ looks unlikely.
After spending the afternoon finding ZZ and RR caches along the top of the ridge I returned via Feilding. It was dark by now but I wanted to stretch my legs after all the driving. Parked up by the I-site and had a good walk round town. No problems collecting most of the information but couldn’t find anything to work out A. Instead used the sum check and on getting to GZ soon had the cache in hand. Will be interested to review this during daylight and see what I was missing. Thanks phronimos for the smiley.
Having just dropped young rattll off at the Palmy airport, we headed out on a geocaching mission to get closer to our target of making the milestone of our 8000th cache find our own Xmas BBQ event next weekend.
It was great to see this had been re activated, so we headed here to avenge our previous DNF.
We automatically went to the place we had searched unsuccessfully before and once again felt like we could almost get the cache, but not quite. Upon reading the write up Mrs rattll decided to follow the arrow and check where the 'original' probably was, but didn't immediately produce the goods. Meanwhile Mr rattll had devised a way of getting at the other one and together we managed to finally get the cache in hand. The other name on the log was Kim/Kris which made me think it wasn't the replacement, but we were happy to find one of them anyway.
Thanks for the enjoyably walk around Feilding

This will be attended to this weekend, the 14-15th November. I apologise for the delay
Spent a long time walking around Feilding for this once at GZ I thought I could feel something at the tip of my finger but no way I could get it out. I'll be interested to see if it's found and if I was looking in the right place
It looks like it's been muggled again so I'm going to have to redo the whole multi with a view to finding an alternative Final Location.
PJMac and i spent the afternoon in Feilding locating a few of the newer caches . we hunted hi and lo and even phoned the CO to verify where we thought and yes we were right but it had gone missing but we can log the cache ( with C O permission ) as it was indeed gone after our enjoyable journey around Feilding discovering little spots etc etc on a fairly cold blustery saturday afternoon. thank you for this enjoyable little tour around the great town of Feilding : )
Perhaps the cache will be revised / adapted as a completely new cache .

Replaced and moved.
From the final coordinates walk 8 metres East and 5 metres North for the location of the replacement cache

It's gone and the spot is obviously compromised so I'll rework the multi and replace
So great to be out geocaching again now we are finally in Covid Alert Level 2. And on these beautiful gently warm, calm, fine autumn days a picnic lunch is the ideal accompaniment to the caching - very relaxing and pleasant. We ranged between Tangimoana, Feilding and Palmerston North taking advantage of some FTF opportunities as the publishing of new caches gets underway again, and doing a little of our own maintenance too.
This was our final cache in Feilding for the day and despite lots of searching we could not find it. We suspected it might be missing, or was it us missing something? So we took a photo and sent it to the CO to verify we were in the correct vicinity. After the CO checked up for himself he found the cache was indeed missing and, as we had searched the correct spot, kindly allowed us the find.
It is an interesting multi taking in a variety of aspects of Feilding activities. TFTC Phronimos.

Great multi which I failed to log with Squirrel Nutcase on this day. Soon found final safely tucked away. SLTFTC
With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... We were really keen to log a Leap Day Event cache and collect the souvenir, but our nearest was the camp-out at Awhitu. We have already cached in that area and wanted to use our time a bit more effectively, so we reasoned that a trip south would be worthwhile. There were three events in the Manawatu region. Road trip...
Another Leap Day marked and confined to history - Now it’s time to head home to some normality, but not before we visit a few more caches along the way... This multi fitted in nicely with other hides we were tracking. We enjoyed visiting places of interest in Fielding - Perhaps not the usual or the most well known locations about town. We followed this one through to the end and found the final neatly tucked away. Thanks Phronimos and TFTC.

After a chat with the CO about this still being unfound I thought I would give it a go off I went to grab the required numbers and then off to the final, watcache joined in and we managed a joint {FTF} at 5.04pm thanks Phronimos I dont normally chase ftf but it was nice to get one - now off to get ready for dinner
Hosted an event last night and meet up with the CO , and he said that he had just sent off a multi to be reviewed which had come live earlier today and he said it should take us about 40 minutes to complete.
As I was at work there was going to be no chance of being the first to find so thought no more of it, so come knock off time I checked to see who got first to find and what would you know it still had not been found so drove home and thought I would have a go and get some of the answers as I had been to most of the places in question so new what to look for so quickly found all the required info so I added up all the numbers and they matched the checksum so off to ground zero I went and over shot the mark by 80 metre's so I walked back and just I was nearing 0 metre's who came around the corner , it was marisa and she had just acquired the cache container and had not signed the log or had even opened the container and she said that it would be a joint (FTF ) , At 5 -04 pm.
Log signed and marisa replaced as found.
Thanks for the placement and the smiley.
this took 20 minute's for me to complete.
