Originally I came to the area to find Houdini, but the Cubs were at the scout hall tonight and, although they maybe might have potentially welcomed me finding the cache, I'd feel bad about barging in and interrupting their activities. Luckily they had put out this additional cache nearby! I'd left it late and was doing this in the dark, but it was fun to do a quick sprint through the park to GZ. I used my smartphone's video camera and torchlight to explore a hiding spot I thought might prove likely. I was right on the mark, though I found that the entrance hole was covered by vacant spiderwebs, which I tried not to disturb too much whilst grabbing the cache out. The log and tin are still in good condition.Great job and thank you, Air Scouts! I enjoyed reading about the caches placed by this troop. The Scorpions patrol in attendance in 2020 may very well have moved on by now but I hope they'd be happy to know that their caches are still being found and enjoyed by geocachers to this day! Thank you for the cache!
The road into Deakin always seems a bit busier than I generally anticipate, although this park was nicely tucked away from it all.Arriving a bit later in the day gave me the advantage of not having to contend with anyone on the playground, so I arrived to an empty carpark and wandered over to find the titular keyhole.Sure enough, a cache awaited me on the other side and the log was signed in no time! Thanks to AirScoutsCanberra for the hide!
Found It!Another quick find here in the dark. No one else in this park tonight.TFTC
Cache was found out in the open near the carpark with a mushed logbook. The hidey hole was full of fungi. The Scouts and Cubs will replace this cache together next week!
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Back in Canberra in anticipation of ANZAC day. With a cold morning it was a later start than originally planned. Knowing we wanted to be in Kambah by 3pm a list was written heading south today. Of course the list was just too long but we got to a fun event and claimed a few smilies along the way.TFTC AirScoutsCanberra
Thanks Airscouts - my 2nd geocache. Needed help from partner with GPS - made me
Nice to pick this up today before heading up to Red Hill for the events tonight. Thanks for getting me out and about AirScoutsCanberra
A lovely take on an otherwise standard Hide. Still early in the day, it is already rather hot and so nice to be out before the middle of the day when it will be a scorcher. Log signed. Thanks AirScoutsCanberraDomsky
Needed this one to fill my hiders grid so nice to tick it off. I was here before but it was missing. Nice key! TFTC!
Nice easy one after work today.
Spotted the cache after it shone back at my phone, nice hide, bit of a nice twist to the typical micro hide.
Thanks for the hide.

I was looking for a cache I could quickly find late at night, and this was just right.
Lots of Kangaroos (Wallaroos?) around.
The keyhole was decorated with spiderwebs, but I bravely stuck my fingers in there after doing a recce with my phone camera.

Found by buckoraider first as I was too scared of spiders

Walked across the park with Baristayan after finding Harry Houdini and found ground zero…I can see why this was the winning location! What a cool tree.
Quickly identified the likely hiding place, and the cache was in hand soon enough after navigating the spider webs. Thanks for the cache!

Did an evening circuit of caches in the area to 'walk off' some workplace stressors. Managed to find all caches attempted without too much difficulty.

Found while hunting for "treasure" with geokid today - she decided it was time for a park and this was in the same space so everyone was satisfied. Geokid was also very important in terms of retrieval and rehiding, so glad we were out together. Thanks for the cache and the teamwork!
Cache is replaced, this time with a new twist on the container. Hope everyone enjoys, cache on!
Checked today, cache is missing, our apologies. The troop will collate the required resources to replace the hide as soon as possible.
It was dark and there was a big cranky grunting kangaroo nearby. So didn't persist for to long with the hunt
#12298 - 9:54:00 AM; Dropped the geomobile off early for a service then set off on foot for a couple of the local caches near Fyshwick. The early morning dew was heavy on the long grass, so I managed to get quite damp undertaking this part of the mission. The service was finished quickly, so I decided to collect a few more caches as I headed for home via the southern suburbs. Parked on a side street and made my way to GZ where I managed to make the grab at the first attempt! Woohoo! TFTC AirScoutsCanberra
I do like a play on words. Parked in the nearby car parked and walked over to GZ. Cache was found without issue and my initials were soon in the log. Been a while since I was in the park.
Thanks for the cache and the reason to stop by again....

I have been 'banking' caches and not finding them, within walking or cycling distance of home, in case we had a lockdown and travel was limited. Well here we are now, so accessing the 'bank'. Yesterday for the allowed exercise, I found a WP for an AL that was in cycling distance, and today I cycled to this cache. I spotted the likely hide on approach and soon had the cache in hand. Cache and log were good. I liked this hide, so have a favourite point. Then I cycled off home again. One cache or WP a day, to stretch the finds out. TFTC AirScoutsCanberra.
I was geocaching in the area, and came back to this one which I had previously DNFed. Don't know how I missed it the first time. TFTC
Another quick find after doing the Harry Houdini hide just up the park a little stroll. Again another straight forward find in an isolated area, thanks again AirScoutsCanberra for the hide and for bringing me here.
Last cache with the kids and doggo before we head home, after a play on the playground of course!
Thanks for the fun!
Thanks for the fun!
The scouts did a great job. However, be careful because I had an inch ant climb up me and saw it on my chest there were quite a few on the ground. Just wanted to warn others.
Nice to return here after a number of years. We had previously found The Air Scouts previous cache so it was good to pick this one up too. Met a corgi called Duke - so good day! TFTC
