Haven't solved all the caches in this series yet, but came along with goingplaces2 to find what we could. Thanks go to crank1 for creating this series and thanks to all those who were signing Auslan in the videos.This one needs a check as most of it is missing. No signing could be done here.

We decided to start work today with ilook4geo and put our attention on the Auslan geoart series. There are still a lot of these for us to solve, but we will keep these for another visit. All the logs for the caches we found had two more names added and we then moved on to the next target. Unfortunately the log and the base of the bison tube are both missing, so there was nothing to sign. This one needs some CO attention please.

Replaced as only the lid is here Solved this series during Covid when in Tasmania, today we were in the area so stopped to find a few along the trail. Some needed tlc so we fixed them up as we went. Travelling around Victoria with Freddo for a week finding caches as we go. With two challenges on our radar we were in full force. All logs signed with our names or F+g98 for the smaller caches. This cache appears to be missing. The lid of the cache is where it is supposed to be, but the cache and log are definitely missing.

After spending a chilly afternoon yesterday cracking codes and learning AUSLAN, weve decided to venture out today and find as many as we can. Its been a while since weve done puzzle caches and a few of these have hurt our heads!The medium sized one is a little more observant than yesterday, spotted it and sent the. It so small one in for retrieval.TFTC

The planets aligned and a spontaneous decision to head to the "ISLAND" for a day and a bit coaxed me into a detour along this stretch. Time to pick up some more of this really good series along this stretch. I enjoyed it so much I signed up for a course but I have been a poor student so far. Still somethings happen and even "casheering" as my dear mum put it took a back step for awhile. All of these along this thankfully quiet backroad were found with spot on co-ordinates. TFTC crank1 and thanks to all those that contributed. Really fun and good lessons learned - well at least an insight for starters!!

B & M were bound for Paynesville today and not in a rush so figured we would start to target some solved puzzles on the way. Todays choice was the Auslans, hoping to knock off as many as we could.Managed to get a handful knocked off before a combination of rain and too many farmers out and about (even on a Saturday) meant we decided to move on. Thanks for the caches, will hopefully return for some more in the future!

We found out 3 weeks ago that we had a BBQ in Poowong today, so have been solving this series since then. We had 39 solved by this morning. It's great how much learning you can do with repetition. Today started out muggy and sunny, but the forecast rain started about 2pm. We got around 20 before the BBQ, not sure yet how many we will get on the way back in the rain though. Enjoyed this series greatly, thanks. Loved the quiet roads with enough space to safely stop too. Had a great day.

Every time we pulled up next to a paddock with cows we were amazed that they would slowly meander in our direction. They must have thought we were carrying something delicious or were just sucked in by my cologne.

The whole herd would come charging over and then stop about 20-30 metres away. Maybe they were scared off by my natural scent. tftc

AUSLAN 3 - Found straight away with friendly cache guardians in the paddock wanting a pat. TFTC, in good condition.

What a lovely group of caches. Loved the puzzles, learning, re-learning, having the kids and husband help with the puzzles as they all have done AUSLAN at school and then finding that the caches are not too challenging to find.

Today Miss 10 was allowed to choose the activities for today for her and I for our Mum and daughter day– after running with the Pakenham Road Runners and then painting a pot at a local art studio, Emma chose to find the first lot of AUSLAN caches for the afternoon. Good choice as she found most of them and I helped with a few. Mr 12 and hubby are not fussed about the collection of the caches but I’m grateful for their assistance in the puzzle solving activities so that they can be included in the activity too. Thankyou so much, what a wonderful experience.

The plan: Solve all puzzle caches at home during school holidays with the help of the 2 kids who like puzzle solving but one isn’t fussed by the caching part, by using the computer, then go searching for all AUSLAN caches. The actuality: Solve 15 puzzles at home on the computer, get to cache site, realise that I haven’t paid for my phone to have the upgrade so all caches are grey and not blue, use google maps co-ordinates to solve first 4 – get frustrated as it’s taking too long and we have 1.5 hours to collect 15, purchase yearly subscription, find remaining caches in little time. Total finds 13. Much easier with the upgrade.

Today I had some errand that had me in Pakenham this afternoon and I still had a good few caches to find to get close to my Milestone of 7000 finds for a trip to the Mega on Saturday. With the Auslan series saved a long time ago it made sense to grab a heap of them. The only issue was that with them solved so long ago a couple of them had had some changes. So there was a couple of recalculations but nothing too difficult.

I solved the AUSLAN puzzles a while back and have had a few visits and a few DNFs .. today was the day to go and find them all and complete the series ..for some reason these final caches were a lot easier this time than last time… a little more experience makes a world of difference .. thanks crank1 for creating the AUSLAN series and placing the cache. Series now completed ..

Found a few today, will be back at a later time to find the rest of this series. Had heaps of fun.

We decided to spend the day searching for a few of this Auslan series. The signing puzzles were interesting to solve although not always easy and are a reminder of communication issues faced by many. Apologies for some generic caches. The roads were quiet today and in most cases the caches were found fairly quickly. Thanks to crank1 for the cache.

Third find today as a part of the auslan puzzles. We really enjoyed solving these ones, focusing on an awesome language.

I had traveled down to Victoria from Brisbane on a whim for the Mega and had this lovely series pointed out to me as being close to where I was staying and that it was just a little bit different.

I was pleased to see some of the friendly faces from Queensland grace the videos that I set about working on them. I still have a few in the series left to solve, which is good I still have about half the series to collect - not sure when I'll be back for an extended stay where I will be able to finish, but I do hate incomplete geo-art, so you can bet there will be a plan somewhere in the works over the next year in order to get it complete.

I enjoyed the country drive, particularly as my companion for the day xrocketx was mostly doing the jumping out and I got to drive his car.

A nice and easy puzzle, these are the best ones to complete. No HTML wizardry or extreme PhD-level mathematical equations to bother with.

The cache was found quickly as we drove past. The grass is a little long, but that didn't stop us from finding it.

Arrived in Melbourne to attend the MEGA Event at Whittlesea with woolwood9.
We came over a few days before to do some geocaching in the area first!

ww9 and I had a great time and this was a cache in the series we located.
I had only solved about half of them so had to drive past the rest!
Still we enjoyed the dry logs and fairly easy finds.

Earlier this year we came across this Auslan series as we prepared for a caching trip to Victoria. We worked our way through the puzzles. Some were solved very quickly whilst others took some time. We discovered how to slow down the video and that made a tremendous difference, especially with signers who were very proficient and quick. At the end of our work we had solved 53 of the 59 caches. We then sought some help from the CO for a couple of things that we didn't understand. We received very helpful information and that led to all caches in the series being solved.

Today we focussed on looking for the caches in the series. When we first arrived we were pleased that the grass on the edges of roads had been slashed meaning that we could park the car off the road in most instances with confidence. However the grass near fences was very high and that slowed our searching - it also made us super cautious about the possible presence of snakes (we didn't see any today). After about six hours we had found 58 of the 59 caches. Unless stated otherwise, the caches and contents were in good condition and the coordinates reasonably accurate.

Thanks crank1 for a great caching series. It refreshed our memories of Auslan but we are not proficient. Only by frequent use of Auslan would we develop a degree of skill where we could attempt a simple conversation. However it did help to increase our understanding of different forms of communication.

Suscoe was heading to Phillip Island today and we decided to detour via these caches.
We had been solving these over time and we thought that we would have a look at the road conditions and try to find some if it was dry.
Well the roads were ok.
Infact we were kicking up some dust as we went along however there are still a few wet and muddy spots along the roadside.
It was a sunny day today and we enjoyed the drive around these caches that we found.

Today I went to Auslan Series for maintenance and to replace new logs. Now It's in good condition.

First off I just wanted to say congrats to this cache series for being a finalist for the 2020/2021 Victorian Cache of the Year Awards!

I am still very keen on trying to find as many of the finalists for these awards as I can, so today I came our here to try and put in a dent in this series.

This is just such a cool concept for a series, I think it was a great way to highlight those who use Auslan to communicate. I truely appreciate all the work that went into this series. I can't imagine all the time and effort that went into all the puzzles and coordinating make all the videos in this series. I had an absolute blast working on all of them.

Today was my first trip out to the area to try and work on completing some of this series. It was great weather today, which made for alot of quick finds. This one was my 3rd find in the series! Thanks for all the fun today and TFTC,

The cache container was in good shape, and the logbook was clean and dry with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

An amazing piece of geoart, for our geo-map! So many puzzles which reveal that wonderful method of communication developed in Australia.
Today we set about finding the caches. Our route taking us through some interesting grazing and produce country, a couple of cows even came over for a chat. Most of the time we found the caches quickly, signed in & moved on.

Out with Ms SmokeyBear on another night adventure. Time to grab a few of these...and for some reason, doing them at night makes them so much more...interesting. The cache guardians are often bigger with fangs, and hiding in squishy places, or LARGE and in charge!

Having camped overnight on the foreshore it was off to Bunyip today, via a few DNF redemptions and a some high value hides.

I have been working on this geoart slowly over the past year and had to fast track the solves when I decided to head out this way. I like the different ways the topic was used throughout the series. Cache was all good at GZ.

We were in this area a couple of weeks ago, but time was not on our side, necessitating a revisit to complete the job. An excellent series which had us tripping around some beautiful countryside

solved Auslan series while in lock down. it did take us a little while as we don't know auslan well i can now say we know a little & would love to learn more. after meeting crank1 at the mega it put a rocket up us to go and find the cache's so off we went after work to start finding some of the series before it got dark. nice quick find

I found this cache today on our Auslan Asparagus Tour in company of Pprass. We had been waiting all the way through Covid for a good break to come out for this series and today was the day. We had 54 finds and 5 DNFs for the series on a fun yet dusty day. Thanks for the series from D B-A

Today we headed to Melbourne and beyond to finalise this series after Covid got in the way of out travel plans. We enjoyed solving the puzzles and learning more about the Auslan sign language which hopefully we will remember and be able to use in the future.
The roads were busier than we expected but we were able to use stealth when needed. We saw farmers, cows, horses, cats and dogs just about covering all the animal kingdom. The hides were trickier than we expected as the landscape has obviously changed significantly since the original placements. Maybe hints would make it easier for future finders. We ended up with more DNF’s than we would have liked but hopefully we can fix that in the future.

We are both beginner students of Auslan and very much enjoyed solving many of the puzzles in this series during the last major lockdown. Now that the restrictions have lifted we finally got a chance to drive out and find the caches today. Some were easy, some were not. Thanks for designing this whole series and allowing us to combine two things we love - geocaching and Auslan.

We solved these caches a couple of months ago and enjoyed the variety of jigsaw puzzles, trickily hidden co-ords and reading the sign language and working out the maths as well! GMelb found this one easily. We also decided we would attempt to spell out AUSLAN and GJMMelb.

Found by Mary and David at 15:15. Had these worked out soon after they were published, but we don't get over this way very often. After doing some Labs at Warragul early this morning, we targeted the series for our trip home. At last the temperature is up to the promised 26°. Our thanks to crank1.

Today was a big day. It started ridiculously early and in the end became a day of numbers. Lots of finds, no DNF's and a few events. A great mix of caches. Spent most of the day with SedgwickDave, BeckNmonts, Earthbound Chief, coley_babee and OSHFAM.

A nice series of caches with some fun and challenging puzzles to solve.

After attending 3 events held by n0w0rries today, geo kid SowaMLE and I then got together with aHomburg, becknmonts, Oshfam, Coley Babe, Sedgwick Dave headed for this series in a group assault. The weather had started as rather warm pleasant but escalated to stinking hot with the scorching sun beaming down onto us as we went along.

A varied array of cache types and locations which made it all the more interesting and challenging with some. Surprisingly we encountered a little bit of traffic in what is a remote farmland area. We had a slow moving tractor, a big truck tearing down the dirt road and a couple of locals in their utes crossing paths with us.
A great day was had by all.

After some puzzling in advance, a group of us decided to hunt all these together to make the finding faster.
Along with Ahomburg, becknmonts, Coley_Babee (me), Eathbound Chief, Oshfam, and Sedgwick Dave we named ourselves the AB CEOS for the day to make logging a lot easier.

Most of these finds were nice and easy, a few moments of Blackberry Bushes, and long grasses, but overall a wonderful run of caches to find!!

Glad that I got to spend my first day back caching from a 16 month slump with a great bunch of people, looking for a great trail from a wonderful Cacher, thank you Crank1

I headed out with Steve for a caching run to try and find the Auslan series. We had most puzzles solved but not all. We managed to find a number of caches that we hadn't solved through dead-reckoning and were quite successful in doing that. All caches were found in good condition and a variety of hides in logical places combined with excellent co-ords, made for a very enjoyable experience.

I started working on these puzzles some time ago but haven't had the chance to go out and find them.
Today I teamed up with biggles1024, we had 46 puzzles solved which was a good start.
We managed to find all of them plus a another 7 while we were out there.
Some were a little trickier to find than others but with the knowledge that the coordinates were good and a bit of perseverance we came out on top.
At the time of solving these puzzles I was starting to learn a little of the Auslan language but now it has all gone away.

I am staying at my son's house in Melbourne and had the day to myself. I headed over here to turn some interesting and challenging puzzles into smiling faces thus creating some lovely geoart.
It looked like you all had tremendous fun creating these puzzles and placing the varied containers.
It was very enjoyable to try to solve these unique puzzles and often difficult for me. I take my hat hat to all of you.
Accurate co-ordinates led to finding each container after short searches. After the first few finds I was confident that the caches would be there and that I just had to look harder.

We have had a very interesting start to 2021, but unfortunately that didn’t include the opportunity to do much starting. On New Years Eve we started the celebrations early while we were staying with our son and his family in Tumut NSW. We had a lovely day with a picnic and lots of fun with our grandkids in a local river, but on the way back to our sons place we heard that Victoria was about to close the border to anyone returning from NSW, so if we didn’t want to spend 2 weeks in quarantine we need to reach the Albury/Wodonga border before midnight. A quick scramble with us, our daughter and her family of 4 plus our 2 grandsons who were spending a few weeks with us for the school holidays and we made it with plenty of time to spare. A bonus was that we beat the exodus from further north and had very little delay at Checkpoint Charlie. We got to ring in the new year somewhere between Yea and Healesville and finally made it home around 2:30am. The following three weeks we had grandkids staying with us, and the boys are too young to enjoy long days caching, so now we are finally able to get out and about.

During the Victorian COVID restrictions, in between helping our grandson with his online schooling, Mr SKI spent quite a bit of time solving puzzle caches. The Auslan series were some of the closest to home and we are glad to be able to finally get the chance to look for them. During his years as a primary school teacher Mr Ski taught a fantastic kid who was profoundly deaf and though he never learnt Auslan had to make many accommodations in the classroom to help him. These puzzles encompassed a variety of challenge levels, some were quite straightforward, some much more challenging and some required a PAF assist! A great series, thanks for the time and effort that has obviously gone into getting them ready for us to find.
It’s been a great season for blackberries unfortunately. Shorts aren’t the best choice!

Apologies for the late (and generic) log! After a truncated year of caching I decided to get out on New Year's Eve and find a few to boost the numbers. I had to be back home by mid-afternoon so I came down here for the morning and found what I could. After one traditional find my focus was this Auslan puzzle series. I had solved (most of) these during lockdown so good to get out of the city and pick them up. I found 47 in this series in a total of 48 finds for the day. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited some trackables. Thanks for the cache and the series crank1. I practiced my jigsaw skills and learned a lot of Auslan.

Found as Nicnax with PapaGrouch. Still going well. I really enjoyed all the jigsaws, you sure get around. Nice to put some faces to names that I have seen in logs about the place. TFTC

Spent a few hours out and about after this series of caches. I had done the puzzles during lockdown, and had just been waiting for life to slow down just long enough for me to find some time to collect some more smiley faces. It was such a pleasant drive, not too far from home. It is great to see so much produce farming going on in our local area. I'm not sure of all of the different vegies being grown in this little area, but there are paddocks full of different greens planted in lovely long rows. Quite picuresque in it's own right.
I have not quite finished the series off, that will be for another day, but was happy to pick up 40 or so caches in just a couple of hours. Will return for the others in the coming days (oh how I love being a teacher as it means school holidays are on, and I definitely need the break given the year we have all had) There were no real issues collecting the caches, occasional stealth may be needed to stop the local farmers from becoming suspicious but for the most part the roads were quiet and you could usually see well into the distance so you could avoid those damn muggles.
Thanks so much for such a great series, both with the puzzles as well as the placement of these caches. It has been a pleasure to work my way from beginning to end on these caches.

I had been craving a good day of caching for a while now. With my eyes set to try and complete the AUSLAN series, I contacted Brainiac03 to join in and go out on one of my days of.

With all the puzzles solved we were off and ready to smash the series out. With only a handful of DNF's and lots of stop start stop start of my car I was quite happy with how we did.

Sadly we had to cut the day early dude to some last minute babysitting I had to do. Either way thanks for the fun series and all the other caches we did in the area today.

Today buhfuhguh and I were out around the Cora Lynn and Bunyip area to pick up some local caches with a key focus on the Auslan series.
We ended up with 55 finds and only 2 DNFs which became my largest caching day so far!

I have a little bit of background in Auslan so I was able to work through the signing-related puzzles in lockdown earlier in the year while buhfuhguh worked on some jigsaws with some help from Brengun1 assisting in the complete solving of the series.
Seeing a wide variety of faces in the video puzzles was a fantastic touch and the creativity with the puzzle techniques elsewhere was also great fun.

I'm not a huge fan of writing plain copy/paste logs, but all things seemed to be in order with the hides and the morning was spent signing logs and hunting down micros!

Third find in the series. Very quiet, with no-one around. In good condition.

As a native Auslaner, I found the series easy to solve and enjoyed the scenic drive around the countryside (amazed that this countryside is actually under Melbourne Metro!). I had great company with me, sussvulture and they did all the driving around which I really appreciated. Great teamwork!

We found most of this series today, in the company of our inspiring friend, S-. More details are in logs #11 and #26.
A farmer was mowing his driveway. Luckily, we made a quick find and avoided drawing too much attention to our activity.

Found on a day out caching. Generally good coords meant for most caches were found.

With not much else to do during lockdown in Victoria, we knuckled down to solve a few puzzles. And why not learn a new language as well.
Seems everyone is now using QR code readers, not just in the realm of Munzees and geocaching puzzles.
On a beautiful spring day, we went for a drive to tackle this worthy series. Most were found with a little effort. Greatly enjoyed the novelty of driving greater than 25km from home.

From a series that originally scared the hell out me, to one that I absolutely loved working through. I started off with the easy ones first, jigsaws, not that they were easy, but at least I knew what to do, then moved onto the numbers and finally the letters. A huge thank you to all the participants in the videos and I look forward to meeting you all so I can practice my new skill. Hopefully you won’t mind that I can only sign coordinates:)

This is the first one we have found in the series. It’s gonna be a long hard slog for us as we should know more Auslan. It will be harder solving them than what I was hoping considering our boy has been learning Auslan to help with his speech development.

I loved this series. I have been learning Auslan at TAFE and soon had all the signing puzzles solved. The jigsaw puzzles took me a little longer... my goodness there are some speed jigsaw solvers amongst us. Then soon saw how to solve the others except for the south coord on one... needed the CO's help... boy that was cheekily hidden!!!!

Came down with Finalf29 to drop the eldest son back in Melbourne... just before another major lockdown! So only had one afternoon to go looking. Wow what a flat flood plain... glad we had a map or we would still be lost out there... as it all started to look the same. Found 54 of the 58... wish we had more time but we had got wind the borders were closing!... made Albury by 9pm. Thanks for the wonderful puzzles and slightly wet and muddy adventure finding them!

Closing in on my 14,000th find! What a great idea for some awesome geoart! Luckily crank1 was busy during our geocaching hiatus due to COVID-19 - we had fun completing this series, dodging farm tractors and puddles of mud all afternoon. Some logs were wet after recent downpours so we changed a few.

We found all of the caches in the series, even though some took longer than others! A great way to rack up 14,000 finds - caching with a good geocaching buddy, on a series made by another good geocaching buddy! Thanks for the cache, and the awesome series crank1!

It's a lovely day, we are allowed out to go caching again and I have finally solved the last of the puzzles in the Auslan series so I jumped in the car and headed down this way to grab as many as I could in the time I had. Well I managed 44 of the series and 1 DNF - pretty good hit rate! I certainly learnt heaps of sign language!

Today was my first time out and about caching in 3 months. Muzza and I teamed up to complete this series and my main aim was to reinstate my pre-covid19 goal to reach 1000 by February 29. Better late than never.
It was a successful day with only 2 DNFs and a deliberate stop at 999 to save the inaugural 4-digit for a particularly favourable cache over yonder in Toorak.
Overall, locating the caches in this series proved quick and easy with only a handful thrown in to keep it interesting.

After a couple of months off thanks to Covid-19, today was my first cache outing. I teamed up with Kristy from Squiiix to hit the Auslan series. With great weather and only 2 DNFs, it was a great day. A quick find for this one after initially missing #2. We then went back and found that one also.

I slowly started working on these when they were all published and Fleabag- also helped on a lot of the jigsaws. I managed to solve all except the 3 hard D4.5 ones but we managed to find one of them with a lot of random searches today.
So we got 57 of the 59 today and if I find someone who knows sign language better than what I can randomly search words for, I may get the last 2 one day. Who knows.
We found all that we looked for with no DNF's, although 3 of them were found lying in the grass so have been put back where they should be.
After solving all those puzzles I finally surprised myself being able to recognize the signs reasonably well once I had finished. I have quite a tired finger though from moving all those jigsaw puzzle pieces around.
Excellent placement of all the caches out of the view of the houses really helped today with hardly any muggles at all on these back roads made it very pleasant.
Mmmmm, colourful some of these. Good thing to with the long grass at some places.

Today Spiffy- and I headed out to collect what we could of the solved Auslan series. The puzzles were all well done and the bulk of the video based ones done by Spiffy- while I tackled some of the Jigsaw puzzles.
