Out and about with sir_spectre attempting to clear out another part of the state that is actually quite close to home. Thanks
Stopped to get my multi count closer to 1500. Got to the final and looked around. Not expecting that type of cache container. Log sheet full, added a new log sheet. Found with Mogni. Today the aim was to do the OTD series - November and as many of the solved jigidi puzzles in the ghostly tales series as we passed on the way there or back. Any other caches we stamped on route were a bonus. For a change all the containers were in good shape and all had plenty of logbook space expect one that got replaced. The flies are out in flocks, not one or two at a time. No snakes were sighted but dozens of lizards were seen and a couple of kangaroos. Only 1 DNF for the day.
After a DNF the day before I usually wouldnt return to find a cache, but with all the work done getting the cords this one was an exception. Finally after having moored at the unforgettable houseboat marina I was back in the car, and getting back to GZ was alot quicker. If this cache was a big blob then I would have found it yesterday but its a clever cache design which Ive seen many times but never contemplated at this location. Tftc
Sailing up the Murray on a hired unforgettable houseboat, we moored in mannum on our last night before returning the houseboat to its rightful owners, having reached as far as Walker Flat, more than 50km upstream. Once in mannum, I walked to all the caches that I wanted to find. I spent awhile at GZ so after conceding i trundled back to mannum and multi location for a second look. My calculations seemed correct so Ive given this cache the flick for the time being. Maybe next time.
Today out and about on 201 of 274 days to get my daily cacher Emerald Using my Garmin Etrex 22X and MacBook Air!Thanks for the cacheTFTC
On my way from Adelaide to Mannum, I made a few stops to grab some caches along the way. I visited listed coordinates quite awhile ago in fact it must have been before the floods. I didnt go for the find as I was going the opposite direction. Today I had time so I stopped by on my to have lunch in Mannum. This cache took some searching. I eventually found the cache after letting my fingers do the searching. All good here. Thank you hevwalker, for placing Press and Pulley for the geocaching community.# # #15170 # #
Lovely thank you for giving me something to do while. I waited for my pizza to cook.
I hadn't had a caching day out for a long time so it was great to get out with Doctor Owl for a nice drive down to Tailem Bend and then Mannum. It was a perfect caching day, not too hot, not too cold and no wind or rain, although we are desperate for rain as was pretty obvious in the places we visited. Our first stop was for morning tea at Tailem Bend before starting our caching. All in all a good day with lots of caches found as well as a few AL stages. After having a fail at this cache the last time we were here I had to come back and find it. I spotted the cache on the second look. Thanks for the cache hevwalker.
It was getting late in the day when we arrived to attempt this multicache. We have visited this location previously when looking for another cache. Data collection was straightforward (apart from the damage to the plaque reducing the legibility of the text) and we soon had coordinates for GZ. After a short drive, accurate coordinates and a familiar style of cache container, led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks hevwalker for the cache based on historic machinery.
Paddle Chick and myself are aiming to be back in Adelaide tonight as Paddle Chick is flying home tomorrow . Temperature gauge in the car said 42 degrees outside
This is my last full day in Aus, tomorrow morning I fly home so I want to explore and find as many caches before we get back to Adelaide. TFTC hevwalker#16847
TFTC hevwalker your cache Press and Pulley that we found today. We left Wollaston and MeandDe this morning to get some repairs done to the geo-mobile in Mannum. Had to go via Murray Bridge to to overhang on the Motorhome. Dropped the car off and headed to the caravan Park. Later in the afternoon walked to GZ to gather the required information. Made the calculation and walked to GZ. Marr this a lot harder than it needed to be. Must be cavhe blindness. A PAF soon had us sorted. Must have had my hand on it a couple of times . Find Count: 18660 .
We are on the way from Brisbane to Adelaide for the MEGA Leapyear 2024. We stop for interesting spots and combining it with finding caches. This was one of them.Tftc hevwalker
GC8N25C Press and PulleyA group of us are down from Darwin and Brisbane in preparation of the leap year event. Today we head from Mannum to Adelaide picking up various caches. To save space in the logs we have signed as BOLD7. Was meant to be BDLD7 but something got lost in translation. This was just down the road from our accommodation so was a must. TFTC hevwalker
There were two geocaching reasons to visit this first location. I like it when things like that happen. Great use of time and resources. The coordinates for the final were easily calculated and we had a delightful drive out to the final location. Thanks for the fun. Cache was in good condition.
The morning started early, vacating our accommodation on the outskirts of Mannum so a BOLD07 team member could host a b'fast event alongside the mighty Murray.Just before the event kicked off we dropped by GZ to check out the formation and pick up answers for the multi. With two sets of info, we went further into town for nourishment to sustain us for our day which will see us in Adelaide this evening. Interesting history and having engineering equipment around helps sell the info boards. With all the info, a decent set of coords was obtained for a find. Thanks hevwalker for highlighting this interesting historical spot.
Continuing on with my South Australian caching tour and the mad collection of caches in the state. I am again part of the BOLD 7 team doing the mad assault on as many caches as we can. Today is going to be a mad long day as I am driving to Mt. Gamber and surrounds to chase some LGAs and some special caches. So glad to have finished off over the 300 of the Bike series, the ice cream cone art was fun, the anna tommy art was hot, the stayla challenges were cool. Now to move onto a different area of the state. OH the big Lobster is on the cards today. Love a Big Thing rings true today. First off today is the morning event. Was nice to see so many people turn up to the event. From there it was off on the drive. I am really loving the countryside of this state and the people are friendly while still watchful of you. We signed the caches as BOLD 7 and replaced them as we found them. Thanks for the hides and the great caches. Mum we will be late home.
Out and about collecting more smilies. Signed with Leap mega team nickname BOLD7. Thanks for hiding and maintaining the cache.
It was a big drive from Corryong, in the North East of Victoria.I collected a couple of geo caches along the way to fill in some new LGAs. I have collected the south Australia souviner YAY!! It is going to be a big few days enjoying Adelaide and the surrounding areas. All the events are pencilled into the calendar ?? I'm hoping to geocache inbetween as well.So glad to be here
TFTC. Setting up camp for a week in Murray Bridge before the MEGA for 29th Feb!Moving to Ballarat for another week afterwards. Last hurrah travelling before wooding season at home starts!Happy caching and safe travels!
Found with the SQUIRM team. We've made the journey down from SE Queensland for the MEGA, so booked ourselves in for a week and a bit, of fun, Festival and caching. After a morning event we are now doing a bit of exploring around the area. Its day 6 and Team SQUIRM are heading east, weve picked up a QLD hitchhiker to make a team of seven for the day. After the event nearby we headed over to check out the rocks and gather the numbers for this multi. We read it twice just to double check our numbers and when we were happy we headed off to GZ. Cache quickly found.Tftc hevwalkerFind #5638
# 9181 Day 4 of the Leap Day Mega trip. An early start today as I headed out west to Mannum, about 1 hrs away. The event was at 8am so I was up early. It was a very warm night after yesterday's 37C and it was pretty warm today too. Mannum is still recovering after recent flooding. Following that, I grabbed a bite to eat at the bakery and headed off to Mannum falls, which were not. By now it was roasting hot out there. The only stop on the trip home was at Hahndorf which was a bit of a theme park and quite busy for a Wednesday arvo. Met a bunch of Queensland cachers and joined them for a few finds. Tomorrow is the main event, but tonight is an event in the city.Gathered the info easily enough but I had some trouble at gz. Luckily another team turned up and had better eyes than me.Thanks hevwalker for the Multi-cache
A very interesting history of how inventive this person was, and a great location for the multi.Unfortunately the plaque has become very scratched and is hard to read, but I was able to glean the required information to locate the cleverly concealed cache with Bellahappychappy after the event this morning at Mannum. Thanks for placing it here.
After visiting wp1 yesterday I made my way past GZ this morning where the cache was easily found and is all goodWith two events scheduled over two days, one a tailem bend and another at Mannum the following day I decided to make an overnight trip out of it. Just over 100 finds for the two days cleaning up the map as I went. Thanks for the cache
Found with FUF009. Today was all about Mannum and the surrounding area. It was a very warm day. We found lunch at Walker Flat. What a great place to find when you're hungry and thirsty. I had hoped to be out of the heat by mid afternoon, but it ended up being dinner time by the time we got back. All caches were found without issue. Tftc
The Leap Day Mega was a great excuse to come down from Queensland and weve had a busy time exploring Adelaide and surrounds cache by cache. Meeting up with friends old and new, we sometimes cached with them and sometimes alone but always had a great time. Although I have been to Adelaide before, this trip has shown me so many new and interesting places as Ive chased LGAs, oldies, challenges, interesting D/T combinations, rarer cache types and favourites. Thanks to all COs for placing and maintaining these caches for everyone to enjoy.
Out this way for the event this morning collecting some local caches. Collected the data and found a nice hide cache.TFTC SL
Found in our group of seven Queenslanders unsupervised in Radelaide mega'ing. Stacey's mom has not got it going on so Stacey has to step up to the plate again. All logs signed or stamped as SQUIRM. Thanks for the cache hevwalker
Another day in Adelaide and SQUIRM are on the road again this time with a hitchhiker from QueenslandAn early start saw us soon stopping to wait for the little man from the village who got Staceys Mum back on the road again after her second flat tyre in two days Weve been too hard on Staceys MumFirst stop was Mannum to attend The Best Breakfast Event in the world ever then more targeted caching challenges, D/Ts, high faves and anything else we stepped over along the way there might even have been a new LGA in thereThanks hevwalker

Southern Autumn adventure Day 19. Post Mega South East SA trip Day 13. For our last day of caching together, we had to look quite a far way off from Loxton. we ended up heading all the way to Mannum to visit two OTD series. Along the way there were several other aches to be found and importantly an Canberra Lab cache as well. Caching was with Fitzy_195, MinnieK and albida33 and logs were signed as F.A.M. or similar, It turned into quite a long late drive home but we have had a great few weeks caching during and after the Rutherglen event and I cannot wait to do it all again on even more South Australian cache series
While we gathered the information for a nearby Earth cache, we managed to work out a likely GZ for this cache. As we headed out of town we stopped and made the find. Now onto the OTD caches !

Rutherglen Mega and South Australia Trip Day 18. Today we headed out early to get two of the On This Day series (November and March) plus the usual cherry-picking around Mannum and Palmer, before finishing up some Trads around Loxton that we have driven past far too many times ! We got to do the ferry ride at Swan Reach twice again which we always enjoy This was the next find of the day, and it was a quick find once at GZ. Signed, replaced, and then we headed off to the next one on the list.

On the way to Murray Bridge to stay there for two nights after we left as we stayed at Swan Reach for 6 nights Found the cache and logged the log with Everlasting hevwalker, Thank you so much for placing it.
We solved this multi after collecting the answers for the EC. At the end of our short visit in Mannum we went to GZ and had to search for a while as the hint was a little bit misleading for us. But finally we found the box. It was our first Australien multi. TFTC
Found. Had done calculations three days ago on our Proud Mary upstream cruise and now downstream had time to find cache. Logged D + L TFTC Darwould & Plus Elle from Calgary, Alberta.
Thanks hevwalker for this multi. Quick find at GZ. In Mannum to see the flood waters. Relief at some saves, sadness at some businesses under water.
Day 6 of my Adelaide adventure with my sister jendavo01. Onboard the Murray Princess for a 7 day cruise along the river, hopefully we stop long enough to claim some smilies today . Thanks to the COs for placing and maintaining their for others to find .
Finally got to find and log this cache
Back in June I did a 3 day, 2 night cruise on the Proud Mary. We stopped in Mannum where we disembarked and I headed off on foot to grab some caches.
I solved this one, but didn’t have enough time to walk to its hiding place, so on my way to my dinner date tonight, I pulled over and made the find.

Staying in Mannum for a few days and gathered the info the other day. Created some coordinates which looked good when plotted. Back in SA for harvest work. Spending a few days in Mannum. With the extreme weather forecast we had not planned any caching today but once we arrived and the sun was out we headed off to grab some smilies before the storm sent us runniing home.
Grabbed the info, did the sums then retraced our steps to find GZ. Good placement had us looking, looking.

Headed over to Mannum today with the main aim being the AdLab there. Managed to find eight physical caches as well and this was one of them. Made my usual multi meal of this one but luckily the CO was able to point out my problem, this one anyway. Repaid the favour by replacing the sheet of paper with a proper log in a zip bag.
Thanks to hevwalker for putting this cache out here and then helping me find it

Mr Tardis had been out motorbike riding around the area today, and stopped here to gather some clues. I rode off to GZ and found the cache container in the first place I looked.
Unfortunately there was no log sheet in the cache, and being on the bike, I didn't have any spares with me. I took a photo as proof of find.

We found the cache but the log book is missing. The container is still here but it is damaged and will not close. A fun little hunt through Mannum. TFTC!
Found the cache container on the floor a bit up from the sign, with no paper inside. We hid it close to where the coordinates take you. Unfortunately we didn’t have spare paper with us.
This one had us park at a familiar spot, avoiding the birds too. We ended up back here at the published and had some morning tea. I decided to play twinkle twinkle on the piano here too.
Off to GZ had us up and down before we had the Doh moment. Once you see it you say how did I miss that.
Thanks to hevwalker and **clear skies** from TeamAstro. [^] Cache the planet! [^]

Collected a set of co-ords which took us to a GZ telling us more about David but no sign of a cache so maybe will try again if we come back to town
Have been previously at the given co-ordinates. Enjoyed lunch at the club with nice view of the river. A little walk to GZ. Thanks hevwalker.
Stopped by here today to check my cache. Looks like the spot has been compromised. Move very slightly but still within a metre. Added a hint.
After having a fantastic time catching up with people at Geostuff's 10th birthday celebrations we started heading down to Murray Bridge to grab a few labs down there and of course anything else that popped up nearby.
We decided to stop and have a look at this one. After admiring the piece of machinery we collected the numbers from the plaque, did the substitutions and made our way to the new co-ords. The cache didn't take too long to locate and we added our name to the log before returning everything as we found it.

Found with e.gregory1 on our way home from a geocaching foray into the Murraylands. Very nice to find a few extra caches on the return trip, and our tour of Mannum to complete the Rolling on the River Adventure Lab series. Thanks for the cache hevwalker!
Today I teamed up with FeatherWaite, TeamAstro and Team Waldron to attempt the 'Around the World in 81 Caches' series.
We had a great day for it with sunny, mild spring weather and the roads and tracks all dry. I wouldn’t much fancy doing it in the rain. Four sets of eyes helped and we were able to find the caches without too much trouble. It also helped that we were in no rush, and there was plenty of time for a bit of fun and chatting along the way. We had a good run and found all the caches with no DNFs.
After completing the series, FeatherWaite and I headed back to Adelaide via Bakara, Claypans, Walkers Flat and Mannum, finding a few targeted Traditional, Multi, Letterbox, Earthcache, Mystery and Lab caches along the way including this one.
All in all it was a good day out.
Thanks hevwalker for the cache.

I started 2020 with some improbable caching goals that only lasted until mid February.
Then came Covid-19 and caching began to take a back seat.
But with restrictions easing and socially responsible caching again possible it is time to start filling the calendars again.
Today I need a multi-cache to fill a calendar spot. This was my choice as Sal wanted to go for a drive and I like the Mannum Bakery!. [:X] Got some numbers and did the calc's. Way back there. [?] Did the calc's again and got the same answer so off to GZ where I found the cache in an obvious spot. Now for a levee walk before that bakery visit.
***Thanks hevwalker for putting out this cache and maintaining it for our enjoyment. ***

Out and about supporting rural business today. It was almost sunny here today. We collected the answers before lunch and made the find after lunch, on the way out of town. We did look at the wrong level until we realised it must be on the other level.

In town for an ice cream, after doing a walk at the waterfalls... stopped by a familiar spot (I think at least 3 GZs been here?). The icon sits under the EC one, so could get missed?
Quick calcs by geokids, and stopped at GZ for a quick find on the way way home.
TNLNSL
Thanks

Been to WP1 before and quickly worked out GZ .
Well, we were surprised at what we found there (beside the cache - what a strange place to put one of those) [:o)].
TNLNSL.
And how about 'pinching fruit off other people's fruit trees !'
Thanks Hevwalker.

GPS on auto nav took me to the top level. Doh. The council has nicely provided some stairs. Collected the info and the calcs indicated a spot I had noticed on the drive in. GZ was a surprise as I was expecting another sort of hide when I parked.
Cache was found in the last place we looked, which as usual was not the first place we looked. Thanks for placing a fun cache guys. We do love your work. We signed the logbook. Of course we did that is way we play this game. Cache in pretty good condition for the cache age.
