I didn't search for long as my partner was waiting... no luck here and not sure if I was in the right clearing as GPS not settling under 5m. Impressive drop-off to the valley below!!

#3,941: Gap Smiley!I came out to this one on a stunning day. We are getting back into shape to walk the Heaphy, and this track was our task for the day. I also needed to do some maintenance on the BS series, and so perfect on all counts! This was the only one I had not found on the track, and so a bonus! I also ran into a family of cachers in the car park before setting out, and they had come here for the walk and caches. Always fun to bump into other people on a mission! The log is quite wet, and the container is a little rusted, but I didn't have any containers to spare. Sorry for that!SL/TFTC!!

On a caching+hiking adventure.. Finding the cache was easy. Log sheet super damp but we managed to scribble our initials.

Turn around cache for this walk, nice views nearby but a little clenching for my rolling stomach! Back for the cache which was a quick find and handed to Liv/Conrad (OffSeason19) to place back as per the hint.Last full day with Liv and Conrad before heading back home at Oh Dark o clock tomorrow morning, luckily before the storm heads up the country! mrs c and I headed out for a modestly short walk in the morning and grabbed 3 fairly easy caches, and we headed back out after lunch with our hosts to the Bealey Spur route, another 3 caches there before we turned around before the wind picked up, and the temperatures dropped down. Thanks to the COs for their hides.

Found it on the way down. Finding a way onto the clearing turned out to be more difficult than finding the treasure spot Wink

Initially we though the clearing referred to was on the track, but soon realised that was not the case, and found another a bit off the track, after which the cache was a quick easy find. For us the cache was about 10 metres northeast of the coordinates, at S43 01.793 E171 36.364. TFTC

Its on up the track on this very cold morning. Did not fal down the gap here. Managed to snag and tag this one though. Cheers. Views magical today.

Monday today, and first up is Bealy Spur Track for the morning, then home via Lake Brunner and Murchison later today.

Its Queens Birthday weekend and The Seagnoid, Zara and I are heading out of town for a long weekend to Arthurs Pass, via Kaikoura. Had a fantastic weekend, seeing lots of new places, limestone formations, amazing views, awesome beech forest walks, but getting nowhere fast. Bloody cold at times with -3deg frosts but thankfully the snow stayed on the top of the highest mountains.. Enjoyed driving back via Lake Brunner, Murchison. An awesome few days exploring.

Wow. We are second-to-find! Wasn't expecting that at all. And that was only because I accidentally scrolled down the cache page a few seconds ago. Anyway, loving the walk up - it's frigging cold, there was ice in the car park puddles 8mm thick, so the air is crystal clear.
Pretty impressive view out into the gap. (Now I'm thinking... Thompson Twins?)

Taybeedragon and I are on a five day extended Queen's Birthday weekend. Happy birthday marm! The plan was to cache the Arthur's Pass route, from Rangiora to Lake Buller. You would think four days was enough to do the 211 kilometers, but we didn't even manage the 130 to Arthur's Pass village before we had to pull the pin Monday lunchtime for the drive back to Blenheim. But on the way we saw some amazing views, strange geology, weird amounts of ice in the puddles, ice on the inside of our windscreen - it was that cold. Caves, wonderful beech forests, rather a lot of bridge barriers and even a cache or few. And there was blisters, sliding down icy grassy hills on our bums (what fun!) and rather a lot of walking. Many thanks to all the cache owners that made this such an amazing trip.

{FTF} 8.40am. Got up the track in 30 mins after an early start from Castle Hill village this morning. Saw lots of cars in the car park, and a few coming up the track while I was coming down. Everyone getting out and about now we're in level 2. Stunning day today, just a chilly start. The drop down to Bruce Stream is spectacular isn't it? Just careful at the edge!
Thanks to all cache owners for taking the time to place and maintain your caches. Team Broadbent (signed TB on micros). Find # 2372
