I have been staying in Motueka in the caravan for a week - exploring trails in all directions on my ebike. Heading home tomorrow so a ride up this valley to grab a few on a mini power trail is perfect. Its very quiet traffic wise too which suits me. I had almost perfect success in all my finds with only a couple of DNF's out of 17 finds.QEF here on the corner before heading up the valley amongst all the orchards.TFTC SJT_NZ
A fun find here while out for a bike ride today. Looks like the barrier here gets a good workout at times, but cache still safely attached, cheers
Thankyou for the maintenance glad we could turn that frown upside down thankyou!!
Couldn't find looked everywhere on the ground and other posts but couldn't see it anywhere, looks like the barrier had been crashed into at some point.
Quick trip ip to the Nelson area, with a wee bit of caching in between, many thanks for the caches . - Bitsprayer

After a slight diversion it was back to the trail.
After finding the challenge cache on Rabbit Island and a few others, it was time to head inland off the usual route to find a whole lot more. I am enjoying seeing different scenery. Good to have a change of pace along the trail. Another quick find and then we left to find the next one. Apologies for the late logging.
In Nelson with TwigNZ, YetiNZ, Mr-Mcgoo for a few days of caching and meeting up with other cachers from Nelson. All logs signed as NMTY.
Kia ora rawa atu for the cache SJT_NZ.

Day 2 of my Nelson trip, along with NZ_B, YetiNZ and Mr-Mcgoo. This is something we planned a while back and have very much been looking forward to
During our time here, all found caches were signed as NMTY (regardless of whether 2, 3 or all 4 of us hadn't found it previously), or with individual names for Challenge Caches according to whomever was claiming the find.
We had decided that we really liked the idea of heading back to Motueka today, so were happy to be taking the scenic route to make the most of the available caches to get there. This meant getting off the beaten track a little and we had a great time effectively following the Moutere River along the Central Mini Trail. We were initially nonplussed by the strange numerical sequencing of the series, until we realised that this was not the work of just one CO.
A quick and easy find for us today. Nothing untoward to report with the cache or log, so everything was replaced exactly as found and we were back on our way again.
Thanks for setting this one up. I liked the cache page write up, and the scientific theme, so gets a FP from me.

Some time ago a group of us from Wellington decided that what we should do is come down to the Nelson region for a long weekend of Geocaching. So we did. With minimal specific agendas, and lots of unfound caches in the area, the goal for this four day break is exploring, having fun, and finding geocaches. Here is one we found.
We had come out this way to do the Central Mini Trail, not initially realising that it had been contributed to by multiple CO's. We very much enjoyed the trail (despite the fascinating numbering system that seems to have evolved).
The log was signed as NuMpTY (or NMTY) for NZ_B, Mr-Mcgoo, TwigNZ, & YetiNZ
---
Thanks to SJT_NZ for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with CO's like this placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.
[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.

An enjoyable Tuesday afternoon introducing my 10 year old friend Finn to geocaching.
He was delighted to make the quick find here.

Visiting from Wellington and I had a few spare minutes so hopped in the car to do a couple of caches while family having a nap

Havent found a cache in a while so glad to log this interesting one today. Praise Jesus Thanks for the cache. Been a wet few weeks here in motueka and riwaka.
A nice quick find thanks. Parking was pretty good too.
Ms_KR and I are off on a wee road trip to Nelson. Today we cruised around Motueka, after the morning rain had stopped.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Looking at the state of quite a few barriers around here, I don't feel safe even behind them. This one is quure battered. I would say impure physics calculated by the steerers of vehicles! Thanks for the placement SJT_NZ
The hint was a bit if an overkill, but I didn't mind since it made up for other caches with hints that are less helpful. TFTC.
And the peak is within my reach. Left my calling card here. cheers
Its another Geo trip to the Nelson district for the Giff event at Moutere and for an easy P&G crawl up the peak of Uhuru at Kilimanjaro. With the shopping sorted. it was time to head towards Moutere. The weather, with rain predicted, stayed fine and hot for the day. Thanks for the Giff Movie theatre and great Potluck lunch and catching up with local cachers.

Another quick easy find after waiting for a couple of guys walk past so we could get it .Tftc SJT_NZ
An easy find here, in between cars I pretended to be surveying the stream here then got on with the signing business. And what an interesting cache page! Didn’t realise how important number 137 is - now I know. Nice work. TFTC SJTNZ.
RG1972 had a cake decorating class for a few hours on Saturday, so it was my chance to fly solo and find a few Tasman caches on the back roads. I mean, the cake decorating stuff is actually quite interesting, but it was the fact they weren’t catering this one that sealed the decision for me.
In this little loop I had pretty good success - just the one DNF, but that was DNFed just prior to me anyway. The rest were all in good shape, thanks all COs.

Found while on an Easter caching holiday with Kiwimykl, refer to his log for details.

Found with NZDi. It is Easter and NZDi decided she wanted to go to the Mapua Easter Fair seeing she missed out last year due to Covid-19 Level 4 Lockdown. Also we purchased a caravan late last year and as Easter is traditionally the last outing of the season before caravans are closed up for winter, we didn't want to waste this opportunity even though we have another trip planned next month.
So the plan is to set up at Motueka Top 10 Holiday Park for three days going to the Fair on Sunday, then on Monday look at the weather and decide whether to spend another three days in Golden Bay or head down the Wet Coast. In the meantime there is some caching to do.
Today is Day 2 of our expedition over the hill. Yesterday we managed to get what the purists would say was 17 caches, but two of them were Lab Caches so GCHQ says the tally is 25, and who are we to argue with that.
Today the idea is to do so local park and grabs, and as I wanted to do a mini trail towards Ngatimoti, I had to get across this side of town. I didn't realise how tricky that was going to be as some of the nearby roads were closed due to a drag meet (that's cars with V8 engines or rice burners with turbos, not cross dressers) at the airport. Having negotiated the detours, picking up the odd cache in the process, it is now time to start this mini trail.
This was the first of them and like most of the ones found today were QEF PnGs with nothing amazing to write home about so sorry for the cut and paste, but I guess that comes with the territory when you create a power trail.

On our way to another PWGT cache we noted a blue face so we headed to the spot to turn it upside down. This cache happened to be along the way, Thanks for the nice quick smilie. Cache safe and dry! TFTC

1st find of the day at 5:30am. Looks like a white Christmas after yesterdays hail storm. Had to pinch myself, it is the 27th of December not June isn't it? TFTC
Reading through the description, I had to double-check the cache type to ensure it was not all leading up to some sort of puzzle to solve. Thankfully it wasn't but it was a good read all the same.
Coming towards the end of my loop around the Moutere area I ended up here on my way to one of the CO's AdLab way points.
Recalling a couple of the CO's other CMT hides I approached with a certain idea in mind. In the end it was a hide of the Blenheim variety that I needed to look for.
Thanks SJT_NZ

I agree mathematics is very interesting for mathematicians and mathemagicians and also for geocachers for that matter. While my top mark in School Cert was for mathematics you lost me in the 4th paragraph! Despite all that the eclectic central mini trail has been a wonderful addition to my statistics. Thanks so much for adding to those today SJT_NZ. TFTC # 16,179

*Soon located, plenty more light rain today*
Another good quick stop!

Breaking my 81 day slump and trying to kickstart a slow caching year. Fascinating info on number choice and thanks for helping me get searching again.
Time from 10-12 while being the driver for others to attend a workshop at the Riverside community, once they were dropped off I had to go to Mot to pick something up. Took a bit longer, so I decided to slowly drive back with a little loop and some caches on the way. Glad these were easy finds
On our way back to Nelson after a night catching up with friends. I managed to talk hubby into a few easy park and grab smiles on the way. Tftc
Heading home on the last leg and grabbed this. A quick find. Thanks for the cache.
Last of the day and hopefully the first modern wonders souvenir nice Sunday evening ( started late afternoon) drive - thanks for the cache log signed
I did not think I was all that inspired by the wonders souvenir challenge, but here I am gathering the last three. I know I am a sucker for a challenge and I guess I was just trying to kid myself that I was not inspired.
I headed here after work as this is the second of the caches with the wonder I need.
The cache was soon found and the log signed and returned as I found it.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Another glorious sunny winter day in Tasman, inspired by caches on the trail, thank you.
I have a car now, so I can find all the out of town caches without having to bike everywhere. TFTC
You know Sheldon Cooper from the TV show The Big Bang Theory? I am a bit like him. I see this Central Mini Trail and want to do the caches in order / get frustrated that they are not in order. If I did them in order it would take... what? Four times as long?
I came to Nelson with a bunch of objectives in mind - find some size small caches, visit the family - there are more of them than usual this weekend, visit the two adventure labs in Motueka, and finally sort out the last Nelson railway cache. Alas I forgot the adventure labs, and could only get half way on the railway hide, but I managed to tick the rest off.

We made a spur of the moment decision to head to Motueka to "do" the Adventure Lab caches and pick up the other few new ones since we last visited the area.
Unfortunately we were not well prepared and my phone completely died as we got out of the car at the previous cache.
With my phone dead and Hazedarus' only just functional still it was lucky we had looked at this one a few days ago when considering a trip this way so made a quick find here.
Thank you SJT_NZ.

Today on a rather impulsive visit primarily to do the Lab caches we pushed on with phones now running on empty. By now one phone had shut down and it was touch and go. Local knowledge got us to GZ and we remembered the hint The cache page was fascinating in its information for the uninitiated. If it was up to me we would still be chasing wildlife in a bear skin and throwing rocks. It was the last find for the day. Thank you SJT_NZ
Found with Ulmuslynx
Arrived at GZ, it wasn’t long before we spotted the cache.

We decided to return home via the Moutere Highway and picked up this cache on the way. Then we were caught with a detour so ended up on the coastal road anyway. No problems with the find - we used the suggested parking spot and a short walk for an instant find.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Out for a drive with bumandworker today to finish our cleanup which we began last Tuesday.
Finished the mini trail. Stopped for a cuppa and a delicious custard square courtesy of worker at the memorial hall and then headed to this GZ.
I made the quick find while the driver positioned the car for our next cache.
Central Road is quite a long road.

A great day for a lunch time drive in the country. Another stunning autumn day today. Back on the mini trail which is not so mini now I guess. What an interesting listing. A bonus to learn something new while finding something also quite new. Last cache for me today. Time to head for home and get some work done. TFTC, Biggles
The stars had aligned to finally allow some caching and with a surfeit of caches published in the last couple of days it was time to head out.
Parked up beside a couple of vehicles which look abandoned and made a quick find between passing traffic.

Grabbed this one now it's had a few logs, thanks for the cache SJT_NZ, nice little extension of the trail.
Yaayyyy!!! Back geocaching after a 53 day slump!!!! It's a good feeling.
It was kind of fitting that there was an addition to the Central Mini Trail, we have got to know the other end of this road really well during lockdown. It was no longer appropriate to throw our bikes on the back of the car and hit the bike trails so we took to riding the local back-roads. Also tonight we had to drive down Central Road as the Moutere Highway is currently closed.
Claimed the pathtags which had been left by the FTFer (thanks Rangi).
Thanks SJT_NZ for the cache and for the pathtags.
