The Gorge Walk is beautiful, TFTC nordic ned

Another day out walking and exploring, different route today, different caches to find. Another gorgeous day, and a few of our slithering friends out and about basking in the warmth. Big foot steps needed! TFTC

After an exciting night of wild weather at MUMC Hut on Feathertop, Histion and I headed to Mt Beauty to dry out and tend our leech bites. Stayed with The Richos and went out for a quick walk today. Saw the recent DNF but the coords are spot on. Def not the most beautiful spot in Mt Beauty. Log signed by all but Histion wont log. Maybe one day.

We searched on and off the track in the tall long grass and nothing.

Wonderful cache placement, beautiful walk to location that I would have never known about. It seemed to work better following the gps and not the track

Out for a quick lap around town on the MTB after a great day in the snow at Falls Creek. So far this has been a top little adventure.

Rode past this one 2 days ago but my muggle friends were I a mission so today was a solo ride to collect some missing pieces and turn on a few smilies.

Make sure you smell the caching s, it is not just another number.

A little off the beaten track and the coordinates were a wee bit off but very pleased to have found this one as I had given up. Luckily for the me the geokids went for one last look and we’ve signed the log book. Now how to get out of here??!

After a fail a bit further back I headed along the gorge trail to this one. They love an Embankment around here so down i went and the cache was soon in hand.
TFTC Nordic ned

Day 6 of the Magnificent Mount Beauty Caching Festival. Like at any festival, there needs to be space for some time out away from the buzz and excitement of the big acts. A day of reflection. I’m calling today’s set of five caches: “Inside Ned’s Head”.

A key philosophy for today is that wherever a track branches, take the less travelled path!

This was the 2nd of 5, and I’m calling it “Ned’s Field”.

For these remaining four caches I parked around the back of the Information Centre and started out on the Gorge Walk path.

I could see I needed to detour and then detour again, ending up feeling a little uncomfortable in a grassy field (after yesterday’s snake alert further along the Gorge Walk).

Soon spotted the hide, signed the log and continued on.

Careful for snakes in the summer and be prepared to get covered in grass seeds. Left a coin.

About time I turned this into a smiley. First time I've ventured this way past those impressive other worldly power yards that look intergalactic to me so it was a good opportunity to check out the nice big gums enroute. Good located easily - TFTC Nordic Ned.

Took a walk on the Gorge Track avoiding the puddles and fallen trees. The River is bubbling along today and makes for pretty scenery along the way. SL at 1.06 pm TNLN #7067 TFTC nordic ned.

#17352. Well, what a fabulous day. I started out on 199 points, needing only 1 more to hit 200 and get the 5th Memory Lane Souvenir. First cache of the morning sorted that out. Win! Off to Yackandandah for a big walk so Rob could grab a cache and get his 5th souvenir and then off to Mount Beauty for the day. More fun - first to sign off on the fantastic Animal Climbers Adventure Lab. Win! A FTF on a cache published yesterday, Win! A 2TF and a few other close finishes on some recently published caches.

Fantastic views of the majestic Mt Bogong with its covering of sparkling snow. Just a great day out and we must head back to Mt Beauty to try a few of the gentle mountain bike trails.

2TF on this cache. Certainly not where we were expecting it to be. Not much action happening in the channel today.
