Lovely quiet spot. Quick find always appreciate the history in places like this. TFTC
Trip to Methven for the night. Thanks for the hide. Rather lot of earwigs in the cache.
Located with Ricardinho Our plans for the day were to travel from Christchurch to Methven as I had an appointment there. We had a bit of time to get a few caches on the way & also on the way back. A bit of retail therapy to finish the day off at Dressmart in Hornby. Last stop before Hornby & Dressmart. Cool cementary to explore in Barhill & RNZ made quick work of locating the cache. Local family of earwigs were not impressed about bring unceremoniously dumped on the ground from their hiding spot though! TFTC
Plenty of room for this little cemetery to grow. Its a nice spot. There were a lot of earwigs in the outer container, so many got tipped out. I saw a few climbing back up before we left.Quick find, inner container all good, TFTC busy paws. The plan for today was to get to Methven from Christchurch.RG72 had an appointment there, and we had a bit of time to get a few on the way in.While RG was busy I got a few around the town, which included enjoying the fun Ad lab that was on offer, and then on the way back to Christchurch we got a few more before stopping in at Hornby for some retail therapy.A few more from there to home, and that was our day. Good fun, just enough to break up the travelling without over doing it. Thanks all COs.
A nice peaceful cemetery, nice to wander through. Tipped the bugs out of the outer cache container, the inner container was fine. I wonder if they'll climb their way back up the tree and take up residence again. Thanks for placing a cache here, another place we probably wouldn't have come otherwise.
Found with ivss_xx and Gummi_Venus.By this point in the day, the winds were getting a bit out of hand. So we made the most of it and played around - superhero sprints and long jumps with the wind, lung-breaking dashes into the wind.
14:33 FITW ObnoxiousSpaceCat, Gummi_VenusI know that it is the problem of the modern world that we are running out of space in cemeteries. Well, definitely not in Barhill! Plenty of room for everyone! It was very very very windy. And we practiced some jumping against and with the wind. The things you do in Barhill.Kia ora! Paldies! Thanks for the cache, busy paws!#9960
Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat and ivss_xx, large cemetery with very few residents. TFTC!
After spending a couple of day at the Ashburton Lakes I cleaned a few caches up on the way home.Holy moly, the wind. It was gale force! There was so much dust being kicked up from the river beds and off the mountains that visibility was reduced.
As the gates were wide open, we drove straight in and continued right to the cache. A man on a ride on mower was cutting the grass, but didn't seem concerned by us. The cache was then a quick easy find, albeit a little higher than the hint suggested, as the angel looked on. TFTC
The task today was to find a multicache so I elected to have a big day out caching out Methven. Now on the way back home seeking and signing trads. Interesting to note that this cemetery is still used. TFTC
Beautiful spot, kids loved this one, left crystal and replaced log as wet, left old one in there to but seperate bag
Another month, another challenge. I'm keen to see how many days I can manage to get out and find caches this month. This is Day 9. I took a drive inland from Rakaia and found a few caches in an area I haven't visited for about 12 years. All good here. Cache found exactly where it was supposed to be. TFTC, Biggles.
Found all safe and secure exactly where it was supposed to be and in perfect condition. Thank you for bringing me here to remember those that may have been forgotten
23 April 2023 12:37 pm angel is still protecting the cache. Love visiting cemeteries as grew up next to one. TFTC busy paws
Out collecting a few caches out of the city, and get some more points for the Wheel of Challenges for this month.
Hahah you know there's something inside when you pull out the container and there's a lot of movement... they're harmless though so no issues. I removed most but I'm sure they'll be back.
TFTC busy paws, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 18 find(s) of 25 today, making this find #3948

Container is home to hundreds of earwigs... Yick. I emptied them out but I fear I have started a population explosion. Lucky there are do dahlias nearby.
In the area for work. The bag was filled with some insects. Managed to pull out the zip lock and sign the log. Log sheet is in great conditon. TFTC.
Bag Absolutely full of water but log is dry as a bone. Strange cache "container" but an easy find. TFTC
Would never have found this leave without the cache. Very special to have a wander around. Thanks
Lovely cemetery. Would of never known this was here. Thank you for bringing me here
What a tiny wee Cemetery and the longest part of finding the Cache, was walking to GZ..TFTH
With both kids away on an overnighter MrsTG and I decided to come out for a hill walk. Haven't tackled Mt Somers before so headed on out. After a lovely daywalk stopped by here on a wiggle-woggle detour homewards. What a neat wee cemetery. Thanks.
Maintenance needed and done. Original log is mush, the tree has been SOOO hacked from the original dry and tucked hide, now double protected but original outer cache is present.
On our way to Christchurch for the weekend, we decided a day of geocaching was the thing to do as we have not been geocaching much lately. A lovely little cemetery with a great display of beautiful daffodils at the gate. We found the cache very easily but the logbook was sopping wet and totally unable to be signed. This cache is in urgent need of some TLC. Unfortunately, we did not have any we did not have our geocaching kit with us today so we didn't have any replacement parts. Sorry.
Lots of room to expand here - perhaps the original Barrhill residents thought the "town" would get much bigger?
The angel is looking a little worse for wear these days, and StreetWalkerNZ quickly found the cache while I was looking in the wrong places. Log book rather wet and mouldy looking, so we took a photo instead of signing the log book - sorry we didn't have our caching supplies with us.
The mountains are looking rather scenic with the snow at present. TFTC.

#20290. No shortage of room at this cemetery. Cache was soon spotted, but log was far to wet to sign (photo attached). TFTC.
Cool little spot even when dodging raindrops! Pretty damp and needs some Cache-love!
I've been here once before, years ago fro a cache. Pretty sure that tree had a bit more branches then too. A short 210m stroll there and 210m back (the kids count these things you know and onto Barhill. Cheers
The tree has had a major pruning but the container was still there. It was full of earwigs so that was a bit creepy. TFTH
On a three week trip to the lower South Island with tmann421 hunting caches.
Enjoyed the trip around and the challenge of the finds.

We are on our way to Fairlie for a 4x4 trip and stopping for caches on route.
So happy to find you this time and very easy now. Last time tree was being trimmed.
A lovely little cemetery that now has a bee also as it stung me walking out.
Thanks for thecachebusy paws.

Nice quiet location for caching in the evening with BFC. As I approached the GZi was sure it would be missing but it was still there. So I don't know if the workmen reattached it or it is still in its original position. All I know is it is higher than waist height now but still a straight forward find.
Log in the damp side but still writable. I tipped out a large number of insects from the outer pouch so it would be interesting to know if they found their way back out not.
Thanks for the cache, second tonight on a caching outing to remove a dot day.

Nice wee spot, I think I had a cache close to here a few years ago. - Thanks Bitsprayer
TFTC. Lovely place I have visited here on a previous mission. One of my fav cemeteries.
I had to head to Barrhill today to check on my cache (to check it hadn't succumbed to a slip. It hadn't).
I figured as I was in the area I'd clean up as many caches as I could between Highbank and Rakaia. In the end I only DNFd three caches and got seventeen finds (including a bonus find near Burnham).
Find two, an exposed spot (in more ways than one, but I'll send the pic directly to the CO). The cache seemed higher than advertised but was an easy find. Very easy. (You'll see what I mean when you get to GZ).

Out with Nosynel in the Rakaia area.an impending sense of failure as we arrived and spotted the very severe pruning. However, cache was still in situ though no longer hidden. Thanks for the hide!

I semi-regretted not putting my gumboots on, but then I was too excited to pay too much attention to wet shoes and socks! TFTC!!
A nice quick find thanks.
A lovely day for a drive in the country with Ms_KR. The mountains looked Awesome, and the company superb.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Walked over from the village to find this cache. Spent some time looking at all the gravestones and trying to imagine who the people were. TFTC.
Spent the day in methven on a search and rescue training course, so once finished it was a good opportunity to grab the new ones in the area ...
Didn't take long to find as the sunset over mt hutt....doh left my pen in the car!!!!

Quite a long walk and a carefully hidden little critter. A beautifully presented space and really only one place you could hide a cache. Thanks P.
{FTF} following on from Kai Si Ming and the success of the FTF, I was hopeful this one would also be a brand new logbook. We strolled into the well kept grounds and took the time to look at the small amount of headstones in the cemetery. Then it was down to business, took a bit of looking! But had the blank logbook in hand within 5 minutes. Nicely done cache! Thank you busy paws!
