Find number 8 for the day, log and cache all good,no snakes in sight, a quick easy find here. Now for the generic part of the log...With no dentist in town it was off to Wodonga for the day for a filling. Once that was done it was time for a bit of 'black friday sales' shopping than back home. I decided with no muggles or child on board today it was a great opportunity to take the scenic route home along the river road and finally start finding some of the boarder loop caches. I had previously put them all in a list and downloaded the data for off-line so didnt have to much issue navigating to them although missed a few due to the nav man not updating quick enough, and also had some DNF's (never used to log DNF's however have started doing so for a few various reasons) All caches and logs were in good condition unless stated so in the non generic part of the log. Thanks to all the caches owners for placing and maintaining these caches!

This was possibly the most difficult to access of all the caches in this series I attempted. Uneven ground and long grass to wade through for a hundred metres or so because Im not keen on climbing or coming down steep embankments. Luckily once in the vicinity it was an easy find.

This was a nice easy find while out with JR379 today to collect a few caches along the river road. We came across a small grass fire along the edge of the road and up the embankment that was being attended by several fire units and police.

I was in the north-east to spend a few days in the Snowy high country with the MX-5 Club... starting tomorrow morning in Beechworth... so I had driven up from Melbourne today for an easy start in the morning... and to find enough caches in the Towong Shire to be able to cross that LGA off for the **WCW - The 80/20 Rule Challenge**... something the beginning of the **Border Loop** series was perfect for.At this point I will apologise that my logs are going to get rather repetitive... most caches were easy to find and were in good condition. Thanks to **Thewins5** for this cache... and the series.

This is mogni's 2nd to last Vic LGA. We drove down the road to we had 20 caches in this LGA for that challenge cache then keep going on our trip. quick find.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) go mega... We came, we cached, we laughed, we hugged and we had a great time. All caches were replaced better than found.
Thanks to Thewins5 from mogni

The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]Big Grin

We had left our accommodation and had headed out of Rutherglen, on a round about route to our overnight accommodation in Wangaratta stopping for a few caches along the way and another LGA that we all needed. Big Grin

We came over here for a new LGA and had a nice drive along River Road finding a number of caches. A very pretty area. Cool

Thanks for the cache Thewins5. Smile

Rutherglen Mega Road Trip
Day Three: Around Albury and Rutherglen
Weather: All over the place

One of ten caches found “over the bridge” and along the Border Loop today on a special side trip from Albury to claim Towong, my last Victorian LGA. It felt like I was on an island! A super experience for the short distance I covered this morning, I’d be keen to come back and do some more. I appreciate that care has been taken to put the caches near safe pull out spots, as the Easter traffic today may not be heavy, but it sure is fast.

That horse kept checking me out!

Great work, thanks so much for the cache and the series Thewins5.

It’s officially a mega!

*Found on the 15 Jan 2023 @ 2:51 pm.*
*Cache find # 14043.*

I headed off on a short road trip to try and finish off a few of the Whittlesea challenges, I had to visit 3 LGA’s in particular, today I had been up in Wodonga and Towong and then spending the night in Wangaratta before going back to Benalla and then heading up to Craig’s hut for a CITO.
As this one was on my route, I stopped to have a look, once in the right area, it wasn't long before the logbook was stamped and I was on my way.

**Thanks to Thewins5 for placing this cache.**

"Snakes in the grass may be an issue", huh? We didn't bother to read most of the description until now while I'm logging this find (tiny screen on the GPS means lost of scrolling so we often don't bother) but fortunately I didn't come across any while working my way to the GZ *in thongs!* Mrs B, sensibly remained out of the long grass while I sought out the cache.

A few hours to spare today meant a brief trip out this way to pick up a few caches. Long overdue to visit the Border Loop Series.
I remember the previous hide here and the views of the ranges and water. A lovely spot to visit.
A couple of cars passed by on Drummond Rd. before I was able to have a look, but after a brief wait the cache was soon in hand.
SL at 2.30. Hide all ok.
Great little series. I won't venture far today but looking forward to retrieving more along the River Rd.

This a great cache...draws attention to what may well be overlooked so its a FAVE from me as I'll remember it. Too wet for this little duck in the High Country so postponed the hike to the Viking and headed to Thologolong for the night. So glad the buddies were sensible about it as it was fabulous to be back camping and looking over the amazing 94%full ‘lake’ No wind either. Change of plans meant an alternative route home via a few caches. TFTC and the never ending fun!

TFTC. We are stuck in Albury for a few days while waiting for part for our Motorhome. so many decisions as to which way to cache. We tossed a coin and decided to make a start on the Border Loop series. We went out as far as Tarrangatta creek. A lovely trail and great views everywhere.

We are camping at Jingellic for a couple of nights and need to keep the battery charged, we had bought a solar panel that would do the job, and the guy at the shop said everything was included to make it work with our battery. Hmmm, everything but the necessary Anderson plug to Cigarette lighter connection. So off to Albury Wodonga to grab the required bit. What a wonderful relic of a previous time. We found the cache quickly and it was in great condition. Thank you for this cache Thewins5.

As a member of TeamOZCAT logged in this cache, I am now logging as an individual predominantly to avoid any mistaken/unnecessary revisitation.
Under groundspeak guidelines, this logging is acceptable as I was indeed at Cache GZ in person in recent times. However, all cache owners have the right to delete logs as they see fit. Usually done to "Armchair loggers" or inappropriate texting.

If any cache Owner/s have questions regarding this matter, please feel free to contact.

TeamOZCAT logged finds when both Karen and Reg logged as individuals. This logging is exactly the same, only in reverse. Again, groundspeak acceptable.
For an unspecified period of time TeamOZCAT are no longer cache searching but remain active in our cache management and maintenance.

I sincerely thank all CO's and wish you all the best in your endeavours. Cheers Reg
