TFTC! Had to activate stealth mode to get around all the spider webs but was worth it for another smiley
We knew where to look on approach to this hide. Some locals were riding there dirt bikes up and down the nearby property and another stopped to ask if we were okay. He seemed happy we were out enjoying some geocaching and left us alone to look for the cache. A quick retrieval and a swap of trackable and we were off again. My daughter has taken a liking to the plush toy attached to the TB. We will take it along with us for a bit. We left Seemy Sloth Duck for someone else to take. TFTC
A nice quick park andgrab for Ghistgums, NurseyJulie and I as we neared the end of our planned caches today. A good sized container in a GZ that became obvious on approach, GG had no trouble putting his hand on the cache.
Cheers CacheQLD.

Today caught up with Gunnie9 and NurseyJulie to finish up some caching around Dayboro that we couldn't manage during the Mega. Well we did have a lot of solved puzzles still to find! So the plan was to hit the local roads and capture ourselves a wild stallion or two, maybe show a little love along a side track, and finish off by revitalising some energy with some pellets, though we need to avoid the ghosts .... though we might have one in our midst! Better hide those power cookies!
Log singed GG G69 NJ to help with logbook space
Thanks CacheQLD for the cache, the hunt and the smiley today! [D]

Back caching with GhostGums and Gunnie 69 today. We are continuing on our solved puzzles we had done way back at the Mega. All caches we found were located after a short hunt, apart from a couple that did elude us as did other before us. A beautiful winter's day for caching too. TFTFC
Tadaaah, nothing escapes us now Moriaty, the sleuths are on a roll. Thanks for the cache
We are doing some caching in this lovely area and stopped by to find this one. All good here, nice dry log signed and replaced as found. Thanks CacheQLD
Another few hours of caching around Dayboro to collect some more caches. Roadworks made me change direction a couple of times but all caches were found without too much trouble.
All logs were signed and all were returned as found.

Today I was caching in and around Dayboro with my bestest caching pal Mrs Burdons5. We found a few trads and many in the horse series as well. We encountered a few spiders, one cranky rough scaled snake and a very stubborn stink bug in our travels. No DNF's for us today, although it took us nearly 40 minutes to spot the container at one of the horse puzzles. Thanks to the CO's for placing these caches for us to enjoy
Well, now that the dust has settled, after the Dayboro Mega hordes, we thought we'd mosey on over & round up a few smilies.
The rain seems to have left for far horizons and with sunny days and country roads calling it was once more GAME ON!
#36 of 39 smilies reined in today!
Mrs VC went 'undercover' to find this one.
Nice quick find.
Made our mark & replaced as found.

Mrs Woodyrothwell and I had been traversing down whatever road we were on letting the caches guide us. We were like the people that read horoscopes and only gamble because some fool said the stars were going to be lucky for them.
I’m starting to think I should write the horoscopes in the weekend paper. I just need to add stuff about overcoming the loss of a loved one, or a pet, or a friendship or your car keys or a lotto ticket. I then need to add that you will be surprised by the reacquaintance of a loved one, or a pet, or a friendship or your car keys or a lotto ticket.
Finally I could summarise by giving out the winning lotto numbers. I could give them out in this log but it would probably be better if you called my near-free toll number at $5.95/second for the actual numbers. tftc

Out and about in the company of Mrs Slow Puncture rounding up the last batch of escaped horses in the Samford/Dayboro area. After the mandatory coffee and cake it was out to seek out the caches.
A small flush in the rivier was not enough to delay Mrs SP from driving this way.
Make sure you smell the caching s, it is not just a number.

We found this cache after attending the "CacheQLD - Dayboro" Event. We had our route all planned out, but had to attack it from a different direction when we discovered that the road was closed due to the creek flooding. (We did bypass the road closed sign but only out of curiosity.)
Thank you for adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny
**Note:** We didn't spot the listed trackable "Travel Chicken" in the cache.

An Easter long weekend means a roadtrip! Lockdown 3 ended in Melbourne last month so we had an opportunity to head north on a one-week journey to the Gold Coast. Clearly that one week was not a great estimate - we had to deal with NSW floods, Byron Bay lockdowns, and Queensland lockdowns. The rerouting meant Pacgirl had to fly home from Coolangatta and I kept heading north to the Dayboro Mega and then the Sunshine Coast. This became a caching trip where I targeted lab caches and earthcaches. After 6,500km and more than 3 weeks I finally got back home with approval from the Victorian government. Ultimately this trip didn't go as planned - it ended up being much, much better !
***
I finally arrived at a rainy Dayboro Mega yesterday evening after dropping PacGirl off at the Coolangatta airport in the morning. It is now Easter Monday (roadtrip day 9) and big caching day lies ahead! The aim is 10 cache types in a day.
Up at 6am and this was the first cache of the day. Gently easing into it with a quick find at a rainy GZ before 8am. Type 1/10 done.
Thanks, CacheQLD.

Gathering some more caches around the Dayboro area with ilook4geo as the Mega wraps up. It is a dismal rainy day, but at least we can still go caching in gum boots. Thanks go to each CO for contributing to the caching scene. We enjoyed all the finds made today.
Last day of caching around Dayboro with goingplaces2. Found quite a few and enjoyed the caching despite the wet weather. Thanks go to the CO for placing this cache.
Today with Day 2 of the Dayboro Mega event, I returned back to Dayboro to attempt a solo yet full day of finding the various solved *Horse* and *We* ?? *Geo* geoart, as well as any other interesting cache types. The weather was rather damp with a continuous pour of rain and showers, and although the light rain was tolerable, there were a few periods of heavy downfalls that were rather miserable. I ran into many other Geocachers during the day, and once my last remaining natural light was lost, I headed back home, grabbing a fast food dinner on the way.
During my travels around the vicinity, I made a stop here, and the cache was a reasonably quick find. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Driving around in my wife's car, Mazda 3, I wondered if all this rain would cause me to turn around at this crossing, but it wasn't too bad. Thanks CacheQLD committee aka. Ardom, EatSleepCacheRepeat, Gcoven, JACS Team, Orange Crew, SEMIK, and Simber15 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

On a very wet Sunday we decided to go and do a lot of park and grabs around Dayboro collecting lots of puzzles of different series. There were some great caches and some hard puzzles. Thanks to all the cache owners for these great caches!
Grabbing a few caches before the rain sets in today. Teamed up with wazzadavid late morning, and we were able to exchange some of our final coords on puzzles.
Caches were all found in reasonable proximity of cores. Trackables visited and log signed

I found this cache as part of the Dayboro Mega Event. The water is close to overtopping the causeway with the recent rains. We park near a paddock and find the cache with ease. The horses nearby are very friendly and came up to the fence for a pat which was a bonus. Thanks for the cache

Nice and peaceful out this way. I had to find at least one cache at Lees crossing, seeing as we share the same name.

Dayboro trip. Day 9. The first full day of the Mega proper dawned and with it the formal opening was observed early in the morning. We then broke into team to spend th3e day caching, targeting the several geo-art series in the vicinity of Dayboro. I was joined by Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibblericecakes and Gliss. There were showers on and off all day, but the caching went well, with only a few small breaks when it was too wet. It was great to see all the caches in place and despite some of them being fun and tricky, the pre-mega puzzle solving effort was well rewarded.
Thanks.

24,123. Found with minniek on our Dayboro QLD MEGA Adventure trip. For today we also cached with albida33, Nibletricecakes and GLISS! to form and sign as MiNiFiGAS!
With the sudden COVID outbreak in Queensland putting the Mega in doubt we decided to head up to the New South Wales / Queensland border hoping that it would still go ahead, and with the announcement that things were mostly returning to normal we decided Plan A still looked good. Day 4. An early start today with an aim of caching our way through some of the Geo-Art around Dayboro (all being pre solved) plus various bonus caches along the way This was the first stop for the day. We parked nearby this one for a quick find at GZ. Signed the log as MiNiFiGAS!, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one.
Thanks CacheQLD and all the other Cache owners !! Please forgive the generic logs.

Easter trip away with fitzy_1965 for the cacheQLD Dayboro Mega.
After the Mega Opening Ceremony, we teamed up with nibletricecakes, GLISS! & Albida33, signing logs as MiNiFiGA's. Today was the day to put our puzzle solving hard work to the test. We did not let the persistent rain dampen our spirits, tackling the Horse, Pacman & part of the We <3 Geo Geo-art trails and any others in-between. Then ended the day with a Round 5 win in the Trivia Night.
All caches were found in good condition unless otherwise stated.

Gotcha. Signed today as MINIFIGA! as I teamed up with GLISS! Minniek, Fitzy_1965 and Albida33 to tackle some counties, trails, oldies and interesting caches. Great to be finally in Queensland with our eyes on the Mega Prize. It was a wet day today but we still managed to grab a lot of caches as we navigated the rain and puddles.
This is the first Mega we have had in Australia in over a year. We have navigated lockdowns, mouse plagues, floods and the dreaded Covid to get here. So wonderful to be able to be out caching in Queensland. Such a privilege. Thanks for the cache.

After attending the opening ceremony off we went with DiMorgan to get as many as we can before the heavens open. Well we got to midday before we had to call it a day. Might get out agan later, but it doesn't look good.

At our first Mega. Blown away by the amount of preparation that has been done. Bit of a shame about the weather but at least we were allowed out of lockdown!! Out today finding the trads nearby. Thanks Cache Qld for the event and this cache. It’s much appreciated.
Finally we have been able to leave Victoria and our first big stop was to attend the Mega at the Dayboro Showgrounds. After the opening event we went caching with good friends Hans&Linda. Linda and I stayed in the car most of the time acting as navigators and record keepers while Hands and Dennis did the collecting work. We did not get too wet as we dodged the showers. A great variety of caches today. A few laughs and some challenging finds. L1xTB SL TFTC
Day 2 of the Qld Mega for the three of us. Camping in the rain. What fun. Kids have never been camping....now they have! And have experienced the full brunt of it. Today we ambled around, between showers, in showers, in downpours, getting some of the things we needed around Dayboro. We didn't get to finish everything, due to the rain, so we will be back when everything dries up. Today, I left Miss10 to choose the pockets of caches to complete and to direct me. She is definitely getting better at taking the reins.
Day 1 of the GOM invasion of Qld. B@W I were the advance party and targeted as many Dayboro caches as ppssible in an attempt to achieve types in a day and 100 finds in the day with our guest member Bahumbug. In between intermittent torrential rain we jumped in and out of the car all day for lots of great fun & finds.
All caches were in good condition.

The on again off again trip was finally on again with Gladys saying Yes. A fair bit of solving and planning had gone into our first day with PPE and the Bug before being join by Crash and Tardis the next day. The rain only slowed us down on a few things as we made our way around. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC
This became our first cache off the Mega site today. We were heading off to find Horse Geoart caches whose final coordinates were along Armstrong Creek Road. It was a quick find . I was delighted to see a TB there. I took one TB and left two to continue its travels.
Start of my generic logs I guess.
Well, I didnt think it was all going to come together but it did.
The guys from Sydney cancelled then came again.
Out with PPE and B at W and sometimes the MEGATRONS CBBPT.
The MEGATRONS started back at Casey Fields in 2015, Got rebooted in 2017 at Lake Eildon and its been a few years since more than two members have been at the same mega and caching together...so the MEGATRONS live on in 2021...even after covid.
Lovely job of the Horses Head....
Thank you CacheQLD
#2255 - Commuting to the Qld Mega every day with gcraider. Having finished all the Lab Caches and attended a few interesting seminars it's now time to explore further afield.
We have solved all the "Horse" puzzle caches and will attempt to find a few in between showers if we can help it. On the way we pick up a few trads as well.
Apologies for the generic logs on these, but during a Mega there generally isn't enough time to write essays..... Finding caches and having fun is our main aim.

Offered a spare seat on a roadtrip with The Rats and Wilbert67 to the Dayboro Mega, jumped at the chance to accept, and together with Steeba (who flew up), we joined forces to become “the Gong Gang” over the Easter weekend. Aside from the rain and threats of last minute border restrictions, it turned into 2500km of fun, finds and adventures. Thanks to the Gang for the invite, company and shared solves/searches and all the COs for the smiley opportunities. With the Mega only a little way off we thought it would be a good idea to find a few of the local caches before the crowds roll in.
We've been doing a few of the puzzles and now it's time to change over to a couple of traditionals.
Some local kids were enjoying the water as we passed by today.

T-Tech and I headed out this afternoon to clean up some of the caches around Dayboro.
We figured we'd better check out the launch point at Lees Crossing, and of course grab this cache while we are here. The creek had quite a few people enjoying the water, so I was glad to see this one was a little way away. I made the find and opened the container, but then spotted the large spider on it, and made a rapid retreat! Poor T-Tech had to shake it off, then put the cache back TFTC, Cache QLD.

That’s quite a delightful little crossing! From GZ, of course, you can’t see it, but what we could see was some sort of council worker? She was parked just by GZ. Luckily, she was leaving just as we arrive. We found the geocache pretty quickly and were appreciative of the shade on this warm day.
