Picked up a couple of caches in Levin today before the rain set in. Wasnt sure how tricky this one was going to be! Didnt seem to be too many places in which it could be, therefore found it reasonably quickly. #8003. TFTC.
Clever hide here.Thank you woolwood9 for placing this cache.Log signed as B&PFind number 5320
In Levin visiting friends. Didn't know there was so many alleys in Levin 2nd for the day. Tftf
I was making an extra effort to be stealthy for this night retrieve it mustve worked as there was a loud belch from outside one the of adjoining houses as I was signing the log. TFTC woolwood9!
Quick stop and stroll and find. Up from Dunedin for the weekend and heading to the cannonball run events near Levin. Thanks for the cache, woolwood9#5876 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next large multi-day event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
Thanks for your amazing cache. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Cheers, Cympull.
This one took ages to find and so I was very pleased to finally spot something that looked a bit cachey. All in great condition. Tftc
This weekend is all about events. One in Levin, one in Wanganui. But first I stopped off in Waiterererere for some unfinshed business and spent the night there. (Waitererere is a bit like banananana - I am never sure when to stop). This morning I headed back into town for some early morning caching. I quite like alleyway caches, for their exploration component. In fact two of these alleyways are not even marked on the maps. I'll fix that when I get home. I found 8 caches this morning and now I am filling in time waiting for the event by sitting in Adventure Park logging them. And it has only just turned 9am!
Apologies for the late log, was transferring to a new phone and realized that there were a number of caches that hadn't been logged online yet.In town with one of our sons for a national indoor hockey tournament and decided to grab some local caches between games. On a bit of a theme with these caches finding the hidden alleyways between the various streets that only the locals really know. Unfortunately this one was memorable for all the wrong reasons with quite a bit of litter about and a large dog poop right in front of the hiding spot that made retrieval a little tricky. Didn't have any CITO gear today so signed the log and returned as found. TFTC.
Called in here on the way up to Waitarere. Parked across the road and walked to GZ as the rain started spitting. I looked in this spot, tried something and then discounted it, before coming back after a few minutes of fruitless searching. This time I did the right thing and soon had the cache out and log signed. Thanks for the cache, woolwood9.
A small group of us from Team SEAC consisting of Keylev, Stik-A-Crane, Uncle Sam and ourselves had come down from Auckland to spend the long weekend caching in the Manawatu area. The plan was to get as many as possible. Along the way we had some great adventures, many laughs, met some interesting people and found a wide selection of caches. Signed SEAC to save space on the log. TFTC.This was day 4 of our trip and we headed South from our accommodation caching down SH 1 to Levin and back through the towns to Himatangi.A nice quick find here.
Day 4 of our caching trip to Palmerston North area with HeMaLuDy, UncleSamNZ, Keylev, and myself, signing in as SEAC or TEAM SEAC to save logbook space. A big thanks to all the CO's for cache placement and maintenance, making this trip the success that it was.TFTC.
Day #4 of the Team SEAC extra long weekend little road trip for Labour Weekend.I managed to pull it out but my arms were hurting trying to open it so left it for the others ha ha....if only I was a bit taller....Thanks for the cache
Nicky done. Good camoSmall group of caching buddies drove down from Auckland for the long weekend, and headed for Palmerston North area. Sorry for the generic posts, but we had so many caches to find.Had a great time, with so many laughs. Thanks to all the Cache owners who placed the caches. This was day 3 of our trip. All logs signed "SEAC" or "Team Seac"
Thanks for checking up on this cache, I know often it is me who cannot see what is in front of me, but no it had gone missing, went in again and found straight away, tftc woolwood9

Up and down the alleyway, closing in on GZ. Dogs on the other side of the fence could hear the squeak of the bison opening and were sniffing up and down the fence line. TFTC

#2346. Having been invited to lunch a couple of blocks from here, this was a handy stop. Nice easy park, walk and grab from the first place I chose.

No luck today.
but I did find some doggie do. It seems to be a popular spot for dog walkers.

Found the hiding place pretty, retrieved the cache, but then had to move off to sign, as the dog on the other side of the fence took exception to my presence and started doing it's nut! All good in container, tftc!
Finding a few caches before an event nearby, we went to the correct spot straight away but somehow missed the cache on our first sweep, so we were pointlessly searching everywhere else. The dreaded ‘DNF’ was mentioned and just as we were about to walk off, we spied something which upon further investigation led us to the cache.
Thanks!
Thanks!
Down in the Levin area carrying out customer training on their Graveyard shift.
With trying to sleep during the day a novelty I spent some of the time caching to see if it would make me tired enough to sleep with the sun up (Or in this case the rain falling)
In between elderly muggles out walking made the quick find in the 3rd place I looked. Should have looked here first as this was the logical place for the container.

It took us a while to find this cache, with the hint not really of any help. For us it was a few metres northwest of the coordinates. TFTC
I hate it when my GPSr points to somewhere it is impossible for the cache to be, in this case not in the alley. Narrowed down the rough aread and started to search. Luckily no-one else around so that made things easier. I read a few logs after a few minutes but that didn't help. In the end I did find the hide and wondered how I had missed that as I was inclined to look there first - just not well enough apparently. Nice hide woolwood9. How many alleys there are in Levin? Bound to be more and likely to have hides. I still have a number of hours to walk around and see if I can't find them.
On our way south and in 2 minds in doing this last peak but decided its a good way to get out for a day. Thanks for the placement.
#12,948. Parked on Weraroa Road in Levin and took a short walk in the alleyway. Fortunately GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

The EtherClan are attending TwigNZ's Kimberley Kamping weekend.
We've just finished his Cannonball Run event and we now have just over an hour till dinner time.
This cache fills a gap in my calendar for the "Hidden Date challenge" cache (GC7R80A), so I was keen to claim a find on it.
I came with LL113 and she found the location, but the container was not attached. I climbed up and found it lying on its side behind the shield.
We signed the log and returned it to its attachment.
Thanks for hiding this

After Twig's Cannonball Run 2 event, Etherlord and I, with 2 GeoKids in tow, decided to nab some caches around Levin before heading back to base camp.
After some 'alternative' driving through roundabouts we arrived at our destination. We hunted for a few minutes and I saw what I thought may have been a possible location, but alas the cache was nowhere to be seen. EL found it fallen behind. Signed, replaced correctly, and back to the GeoWagon to the next cache.

Had to be very quiet here as I was rummaging around as I could hear a local resident not to far away on the other side of the fence. Thankfully soon had the cache in hand, cheers
Making my way back to Wellington (from Wanganui) today, and made a few stops in Levin for some caches. Looked in the wrong place first, then spotted the right place. TFTC.
A clever wee hide in a very clean lane. It took to find, but after a careful search we had the cache in hand. Was with Crystal Fairy as we headed up to Palmerston North for a weekends caching. TFTC
Due to the postponement of the Auckland Mega, Buttels and the Crystal half decided to use the dates planned for the event to do some caching between Wellington and Palmy. Nicely done cache. Thanks for the cache
Great hide! I had to get the courage up to get past the local spiders but I got it. Thanks for the cache
I walked down the lane looking for place which would be good to hide a cache. I saw something I was sure would have a cache container near it - not so. Continued looking elsewhere, without any luck. Went back to the first place I looked and used a TOTT to check out the surrounds and located the cache. After retrieving it, signing the log book I made sure it was in the place as the CO wanted (yes there was something on the container to tell me that). TFTC woolwood9.
Another very clever hide. There is nothing about this cache that would lead a muggle to accidentally find it.
After attending the local CITO at Kimberley Reserve, Phronimos and I ventured around all of Levin to find the best of the best in this town as well as a few others that were along the way. It was great fun to go out geocaching with another geocacher and we were able to find some really clever hides.
Quick little find as we were making our way around. Phronimos got a little off track thinking the geocache was hidden a little off where it actually was but after I had a quick look, I soon spotted an suspicious detail. The geocache logbook was soaked, so we used a new sheet and wrapped it around the old one. TFTC!

Out and about with the_jinx hunting out some of the high FP geocaches in and around Levin. This one was en-route to another. Spied something 'not-quite-right' but the taller Jinx located it. Coordinates are accurate and led us directly to it. Wet log replaced with a new waterproof log, to which we added our monikers. TFTC
Back to Levin for some caching. Parked up the camper van by Prouse Bush and headed off on the bike. Enjoying cycling along these alley ways. Didn’t take too long to find the cache. Log all good. Thanks for the smiley.
Our plan for the day had been to head north to Palmy but we got stuck in terrible traffic and didn't feel like spending any more time in the car so we diverted to Levin. Had a play at the Adventure Park and then time to find a cache (eldest son found it). We could hear neighbours in the garden next door but nobody in the alleyway, phew. The logsheet is damp but signable. TFTC
Didn't take too long to find the cache. Unfortunately the cache dropped when trying to put it back in its hiding place. Tried for ages to retrieve it with fingers and sticks but without any luck. Eventually had to get help from the property owner who managed to hook it back up again. The cache is back in its right place again!!! Thanks for placing it
A nice quick cache. No google used this time but still drive around the block, our navigation may need some work. Highlight was my geo buddy walking into the neighbours rosebush on the way back to the car! Tftc
Found a few of these alleyway caches they have all been muggle free so far. TFTC
After spending the day exploring Whanganui heading back to Wellington this evening and stopped in Levin for a late dinner. After a bite to eat thought I would grab a few more caches that would be easy enough to grab in the dark. Straight forward find. Nicely hidden. Thanks for the cache.
26 September 2020 10:51. Glad I had a taller person with me to make this easier! TFTC
#8416. Headed up today from Wellington to attend the GC event at Ohau celebrating the arrival of daylight saving. Travelling north with Infoferret. After doing the series of caches along Arapaepae Road we headed west and crossed the highway to check out newer caches placed on this side of the town. This was one of a series of alleyways that we visited today. Got to GZ and figured there was one suitable hiding spot. Reached in and found the cache. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks woolwood9 for hiding it here. You have been very busy in Levin giving us lots of interesting caches to find. Enjoying exploring the lesser known parts of the town. Lots of kowhai and cherry blossoms out in fully glory this weekend. Its a great time of year to visit Levin.
Just enough time for this last cache and a quick trip to the licorice shop before heading to todays event in Ohau.
Mr rattll stopped in the car while Mrs rattll nipped down the alleyway to grab the cache.
There were some muggles next door, but out of sight of GZ, otherwise I didn't see anyone.
The cache was a quick find in the obvious spot.
Thanks for putting all these new caches in Levin, they are much appreciated.

Spiderhouse and Kiwirupen teamed up to go geocaching while the men were in their meeting and some of the other ladies were content with their coffee and cake. Mrs S found this one because we had found another one similar yesterday. No muggles around which was good.
Thanks for another smilie woolwood9.

It was all quiet at GZ and I had a lookout posted to warn me if any muggles were approaching.
Quick find now I recognise this your style from a prev find...

Lovely day for a drive to Levin with Mrs Popmac to find four caches for my personal challenge. FP. Thanks woolwood9 for the cache.
I was back on the job to complete these alley way caches although one still remains with a DNF as it thought i would leave that for another date. This was a straight forward cache after i had found the beginning of the walk way which i drove past! and the hint pin pointed the hidey hole. I took nothing and left nothing. and all was well with the cache here.
Thank you for another of these caches I had no idea there were so many little alley ways in levin!

A quick stop off for this one on my way home after the event in Sanson.

Called here with Yeetrees and -gonefishing- on the way back to Welliington from today's Manawatu event cache. A quick find here - signed log, TFTC
I missed out in the race to be the FTF, so decided to save this cache for a dot day instead, such as today.
I waited until after work, when I figured it should be pretty quiet. A nice quick find at GZ, the contents are in good condition so added my moniker to the roll and then placed everything back as found.

Waiting for the fish'n'chip shop to open at 4pm. So, hey, why not do something productive?
Cache is in good order and had already been found twice today.

One of three alleyway caches found today - a nice quick find but we had to exercise extreme patience and pretend to be studying something on my phone until 2 muggles had gone wandering by. Thanks you for placing these alleyway caches woolwood9.

(# 5863). A trip up to Waitarere and Levin to grab a few caches. A quick find. Everything in order. All quiet at the site. TFTC
In June I had already booked a return bus trip to spend this day caching up on new ones in Levin, then another four popped up including this one!
I puzzled over this for a short time with the hint telling me where the cache was not, but after trying a couple of places I soon found it though some care is needed with it: I can't say more without spoilers. No muggles to contend with.

We planned to head down to Levin today for the six new caches around there we've yet to claim. Although winter had finally arrived with snow powdered tops of the ranges and a very chilly wind and some rain with it, we decided to still go, well rugged up. Actually it was not too bad and there was even fitful sunshine and a gradually improving day so we didn't get too damp.
First we completed the two new caches in Prouse Bush reserve, and then moved into the more central area of Levin to explore various alleyways, not our normal kind of activity.
This was the second alleyway we visited and again it was very quiet in the late morning. We saw no one else. The hint was helpful here and the cunning little hide didn't take long to sort. TFTC

Had to wait for a taxi driver to stop peering along the alley before closing in on the prize. Then all good.
Good find here, nice micro container and hide.
