On a visit from Sydney and on a continuous rainy day had to find this one. Like a foolhardy explorer I grabbed my umbrella and off I went. I wanted to chat with a near cache resident but he wasn't talking. Seems he hasn't spoken for quite a while.TFTC baby&Mrs gopher

Simple cache and a quick find on the way home. Nobody about to disturb the hunt.... except, perhaps, for the residents.

After an extremely busy two-ish months, I was finally able to get out with my new geo-mobile and go Geocaching. I decided it was time to clean up the area between Wagga and Holbrook. This trip was via Mangoplah. I found most of the caches I planned to find. Most were quick finds and others I needed to PAF option. The others I wanted to find, the reasons why I didnt were either, too many muggles around or I ran out of time. So, I will at some point return to find these caches. As for the day, I enjoyed day out and visiting places I have never been to or has been a long time since my last visit. TB visit. I would like to thank all COs of the caches I found and for allowing them to bring the Geocaching enjoyment. TFTCs! I'm finally in Holbrook and I spent a few hours caching around the area as well as having lunch. This was one of the caches I found here. This one was a quick find at GZ and then I was off to the next cache. TFTC
On my way home from a fishing trip with some mates, thought I would pop into Holbrook and have a look around. Here I am at the dead centre. All good here. Now onto the next one for the day. TFTC
Found with Geo hubby after staying for a night at Holbrook. baby&Mrs gopher, thank you so much for placing it for everyone to enjoy and highlighting this area. ??
Quiet and stony. Many memories here, and some graves had current flowers.

A lovely, sunny spring morning in Holbrook saw us visiting the dead centre of town. Found, signed, returned and then suffered a minor barbed-wire scratch, despite the warning. Thanks baby&Mrs gopher.
#21122. Robmc and I and the geodoggies decided to escape Victoria's grey and drizzly weather and head for NSW's grey and drizzly weather. Today is Day 1 and we found a few caches in Holbrook before making our way to Wagga Wagga for the night.
This one was very obviousl on arrival. We approached from outside the cemetery but yes it is strange the way some graves are so isolated from the main parts of the cemetery. A good sized container and I added my name to the log sheet before we continued on our way.
Thanks baby&Mrs gopher

Departed southward bound at a reasonable hour on a cool sunny Wednesday morning for a 3 day geocaching adventure. With no hurry to get anywhere and the final destination a 5 or so hour drive away, there was plenty of time to pick off a few convenient caches along the way. Stopped for a quick bite to eat in Gundagai before continuing through to Holbrook, collecting a number of well overdue partially solved hides. On approaching Rutherglen I diverted to some of the surrounding dirt roads for as many previously solved mysteries as I could find. Continued with these until after a glowing sunset sunk below the horizon, when I turned towards town and meandered into the oval campground. Having quickly set up camp I wandered around the site on foot for a few more nearby finds. Dining later under the stars I soon slipped into a comfortable sleeping bag, chatted online with the kids back home then shut my eyes for what turned out to be a decent night's sleep.
Up sooooo early for a dazzling sunrise display and preparation for the day ahead. First up was the Mega Opening Ceremony, mingled with a quick sighting of 'Signal' and a few fellow Canberrans who had also travelled down from the nation's capital. Today was GeoArt Wherigo day, along with a few other randoms caches here and there. It was a marathon effort in the end, 108 Wherigos found and signed, a lunch time event attended, a few surprisingly difficult recently published caches in Cowra, and a whaling virtual from a bridge. Finished off the evening with a crunchy chicken burger at a semi local food establishment. Driving back to Rutherglen I pulled over to chat again with the family, before continuing quickly to the campground and straight to bed.
Woke Friday morning pleasantly surprised to find everything hadn't been washed away. Don't recall the rain stopping at all overnight, but always relaxing when listening and falling asleep to the pitter-pattering of the rain from above. Headed straight out for a quick letterbox circuit and then to hopefully complete the Wherigo Easter series. Plodded away slowly but surely through wind and rain and occasionally sunshine. Passed by the odd cacher and recklessly speeding local here and there, but again the roads were for the most pretty much empty. Noticed the three Wherigo DNFs from yesterday had promptly been replaced by the CO, so happily I diverted back to pick up all three, finishing off the full 154 'Easter 2023' Wherigo series. With a grin of satisfaction and sigh of relief I returned to town to attend the GPS Adventure Maze. Impressive as always, appreciated the hard work in setting this up. Three from fours Australian mazes now successfully negotiated, how far I wonder will they continue to go? Poked around the Gadget Adventure Labs for an hour or so, again catching up with a number familiar faces from home. As the afternoon continued time was starting to press, so said my goodbyes to anyone who listened and after a few more selected caches on the edge of town started my journey home.
Thanks to Geocaching Victoria, cache owners near and far, fellow geocachers, volunteers everywhere and to everyone else involved in this great activity, for without their help none of the above would have been possible.
Any specific details related to this geocache listed at the end of log, whether relative, interesting or not. TNLNSL TFTC

Thanks for placing the cache baby&Mrs gopher.

I diverted from the Hume Highway to have a look at the submarine, and grab 2 trads afterwards. Both quickly discovered and logged. TFTC.
'Tis always pleasant strolling through the stones on the way to finding a cache
There are always a few stones that stand out from the rest and delay me stroll
This particular stone didn't stand out due to its remoteness,
and without the nearby cache, I wouldn't have noticed it [:o]

A quick detour to pick up a couple of caches .. had to laugh when I saw this one .. was expecting a more usual type of container and a long search .. good one baby&Mrs gopher.. a favourite point from me
Heading from Geelong and Dandenong, on a return trip to Sydney after spending some QT with my daughter and Granddaughter. But as I was travelling back on my own, I decided that I would need plenty of opportunities to stop and take a breather. I set up a list containing over 50 hides, but fully understanding that unless I was to do this trip over 2 or 3 days, that was never going to happen!
It was time to deviate from the highway to a place I often call in to in my Melbourne trips. So I moved out to the last trad that was in the town. Driving up to the GZ I realised there was once a good hide in a massive stump near here that I almost had to swim to at the time. It’s a shame it’s gone, it was pretty cool. Made my way to the GZ and was surprised at what I saw. Not sure if that was the intention but signed and replaced.

Last one on our way into Holbrook from Yass, to have some lunch.
Thanks baby&Mrs gopher.
feathertop and I were later arriving here than originally intended when we left Yass but, were distracted by some innovative Sui_001 caches near Bookham.

On our way to Yea to ride the rail trail. Over Night stop in Holbrook and the home town of my late Grandmother.
It has been many years since I have been to Holbrook, as a child we visited regularly to see the family so this cache was an opportunity to visit the cemetery and find my Aunty's grave.
After some time searching we found her grave and the graves of other relatives.
And eventually the Cache. Thanks For the Cache
