We are still working with the local council (as the geocache was accidentally removed during works on the location) we hope it having it up and running soon.

Second attempt at gaining a smilie here. It is now possible to access the GZ area - has been for some time. CO was contacted earlier in the week via Message system and did not respond to our enquiry.
We looked high, we looked low, we looked in, we looked out, but today there was no way we could work this one out! We wonder if this one's met its end!
Thanks for the hunt anyway LukeParker.

Even through this is disabled I thought it would be worth a look. No sign of any council works, but the GPS was pointing 5 or 6 meters off the track and with many signs everywhere saying keep to the track, it seemed the responsible thing to do was skip this one.
Thanks for bringing me here anyway.

Appears that local council has completed works in the area in the last 2-3 days leaving it not possible to access. Will check again once works are complete
Doesn’t feel right wandering off the path when there are signs all around the island telling you not to!
Very windy walk out to the lighthouse, weren't successful in finding the cache today. Next time!
Just checked - Cache is still in same spot. Due to COVID some maintenance around area is not up to normal levels so may be slightly added difficulty
The Bridge access is now open, due to COVID regulations cache maintenance will be slightly delayed if any maintenance is required
Access to island is open again, I enjoyed a walk around it.
Hunted around for a little while but couldn't find anything at GZ.

This cache appears to be in need of owner attention.
As indicated in logs since the middle of April, access to Griffiths Island is closed due to storm damage to the causeway - see attached images. A check with the Moyne Shire indicates the causeway is likely to be closed until at least the end of July.
Maybe the cache should to be disabled until access to the island is again available? Save it showing up on search lists as being available.

No access due to storms... will take one / two months to repair the access to the island
Area still blocked off for major works. Looks like it will be closed for a while. No cache access today.
Couldn’t access by car today as the road was closed but we will be back tomorrow
Just need to come at it from the right angle.
I would love to know what all of these foundation's were once for.
It looks like there used to be several blue stone buildings out here.
Please be mindful of the shearwater birds which nest in the area

Thx for the cache.
Waited for a group of school kids to leave before looking.
Just as well, because it’s not really hidden.

Found in the pouring rain with no umbrella or wet weather gear. Long walk back to the car. Loved the cache and location though, TFTC
Not today, saw where it should be but a little confused with what was the correct cords.
One lot on the listing and a set on the authiors log/note.
Found what could have been the "footing"
Many tracks have been trampled and lots of droppings around.

Lovely walk to the lighthouse! Thanks for putting this cache here. Great sized cache in this location. Fp awarded.
Well, well (hint), my gps had me searching 13m from the cache. The hint did help. Thanks for a good spot and cache.
Found by PR&F on 27/1/21 @ 11.55am.
We spent longer than we should have on this one. Co-ords were out (wind probably didn’t help either.)
Found GZ and the 6yo retrieved it. Was great to see this kind of container - it’s been awhile since we’ve seen one of these!
Made our way to the Lighthouse after signing the logbook.
TFTC!

This took a lot longer than it needed to. I searched a large area and just as I was about to give up I approached from a different angle and spotted it. Tftc
Staying a couple of nights in Port fairy at a friend's house. They have an electric bicycle that was very useful to get out here to find this cache.
Really good to find a real sized cache like the old days. I am giving this a favourite point for the cache container and the wonderful location..
Now hope the bike battery has enough juice to make it back home...

Heaps of tourist on the path on the way out to the lighthouse this afternoon.
Found open and uncovered about 16 metres from my indicated GZ. A number of muggles had logged it since the last legit finder. After signing the log I replaced the cache in a semi hidden manner to prevent it from being muggled.
Continued and did a lap of the island.

The coordinates for this are a touch out but the cache is not difficult to find. We had directions from a previous finder who happened to be cycling by. It is a lovely big cache container.
Found 15m East of coordinates. Spotted but not retrieved due to muggles. Cache appeared slightly opened, unsure of condition on contents.
Great walk again around the island, completed this walk many times over the years. Had found this cache a few days, but there were heaps of muggles about, but couldn't log, so went back today to log it, still heaps of muggles, had to use stealth and my mother as the decoy! First cache for 2021. Tftc
A 5 day caching run, over the 2020/2021 New year period saw me leave on the Thursday the 31st of December and travel to the Brisbane Ranges, down to Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland, the up to Heywood, Dunkfield and Horsham, camping along the way. On the Saturday I met up with my caching partner, ilukaperi at the home of choocknchunk, where we spread the coronavirus around as much as we could. Enjoyed some 4wding around the Mt Cole area before making our way back home on the Monday.
So I spent New Year’s Eve by myself on the shores of Lake Elingamite, sipping on a glass (or plastic cup) of red wine and watching the sunset on 2020. Good riddance I say! I got up early and cached my way from there, through Warrnambool, Port Fairy and Portland before finding my camp for the night at Annya Camp. A lot of variety of cache types and some good ground covered too.
I really enjoyed the walk out to this one. The final co ordinates are off, as has been pointed out by many others, but after reading previous logs I was able to gauge where to look and BANG, there it was. Wow, that’s some heavy camo! And it requires some skill to find, sign and reside an ammo can in such a busy muggle environment, but I think I got it done.

TFTC,
Enjoyed a walk out to the lighthouse even though we have done the walk before and despite the strong winds and misty rain
Took a bit to find especially with lots of muggles about

The furthest point on our trip. After getting some ice creams in Port Fairy we headed down to Griffiths Island to do the lighthouse walk. I'd never been here before and though blowing a gale we enjoyed the pristine beach and cute little lighthouse.
Cache wss tough and I almost gave up. Used the hint but thought we were looking for a plant roots situation. Eventually stumbled across the place 15m east of the given coords.Cache well hidden and took some strength to move the camo but got there eventually. Now to drive back to Port Campbell. Thanks for the cache which is a real old school hide.

With Mrs Imapom and Mrs One-eyed, we went looking for this cache.
After sighting a large snake skin close by the co ords and a nasty terrain, gave up.
Cheers one-eyed

I suggested a walk to the lighthouse after our dinner and frmen1 thought that it would be a good idea after our travelling diet today. We took the anti-clockwise route and saw so many hooded plovers. What we forgot to do was check the radar. Got to gz and went round and round, with the threatening clouds getting closer making our search even more frantic than usual. Found it 10m from where we were looking. Opened it just as we felt the first drop of rain. Grabbed the TB, signed the log and put it all back at an amazing speed, then bolted for a nearby large tree (no lightning seen/no thunder heard). But we weren't the only living creatures seeking protection there...we had the delightful company of a wallaby who wasn't worried about sharing nature's umbrella. We shared the space for about 10mins and then parted ways. I said thank you to the tree (the least I could do) and frmen1 and I made our way back to the car. We bumped into another wallaby with a joey having a drink in a puddle. It seems that the wildlife on the island feel safe around humans as she and her joey showed no signs of distress as we walked past. And then to top it all off, a rainbow appeared. TFTC and amazing experience. Fav pt given
Found with tassie expat while having an after dinner walk around the island. We got caught in a squall and had to shelter under a large Norfolk Island pine and a wallaby came over and joined us, quite content to just chew a few blades of grass whilst waiting with us. Quite extraordinary. The gps had us spinning around a bit and ended up being 12 metres out, possibly due to the approaching storm, but the clue was helpful. Thanks for placing this cache.
Left Camperdown on my way to Portland to see the new Morris residence.
Picked up the odd cache on the way.
In Portland joined The Morris on deadly treadlies to do a couple of Adventure Labs.
It is always nice to have a walk out to the lighthouse on Griffiths Island.
I had stopped in at the bakery on the way into town, and was munching my pie on the way.
A good sized cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

A trip to the country and a few caches along the way to break the journey.
Windy and a little wet but great spot.
Thanks to LukeParker for the placement and fun.

Heading to Portland for our weekend to avoid the miserable weather that seemed to be covering most of Victoria we stopped into Port Fairy to pick up this recently placed cache.
We just loved our walk on Griffiths Island, it being quite some years since one half of the team had visited here. We couldn't find a logical hiding position at the given coordinates but with a quick look around we found something that matched the hint. The cache wasn't found at once but on further inspection the good sized cache was found.
We found the cache today approx. 13 metres away at S 38° 23.453 E 142° 15.201
Thanks LukeParker for replacing the original multi with this trad. Great location to bring cachers and tourists.

After much searching around the hz, finally came up with the goods a little away from where gz told us. Lovely spot.
Well that took far longer than it should have. Gotta stop looking at co-ords and start looking at the obvious. Tftc
Found this large ammo container at 11:13am after a lovely walk around Griffith Island. Beautiful views. Saw some seals swimming in the ocean near the lighthouse and some wallabies hiding in some bushes. TFTC
School Holidays! Well sort of covid school holidays. Top spring day for a walk on the island. Thanks for bringing us here and cache intact. Track and loot in and ooshie out. Cheers
I love this island and as usual did the loop walk on a fine Sunday. Love the lighthouse. Cache an easy find. Fav point for location. Maybe terrain 2??
After resisting a sort of FTF for a week, it finally got the better of us. So we ventured out after our usual Sunday breakfast to locate the goods. Certainly a brisk and windy walk this morning. TNLN, but we will definitely claim the FTF. TFTC LukeParker.
