A home to Canberra to Wagga to home, overnight loop trip. I finished work on Friday afternoon and filled up the Ute drove over to Canberra. Along the way I made one stop off and found an AL which had been on the to-find-list for far too long. KFC for dinner tonight. After my night sleep, I left the motel early and went and got Bfast. I then headed over to Old Parliament House which is near todays first event. I found as many caches as possible before driving over to the parking area for the event. Ill be back to get the rest that I didnt find, at some point. After finding a parking spot, which took forever, I headed over to the event location. I was the first to arrive and the first to leave. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. While leaving the event, most of the rest of the group decided on finding the new cache near the parking area. I signed it first and that was because I was headed to Wagga for another event. I said goodbye and headed off for my drive to Wagga. I arrived just about 20 minutes after the second event started. That was a good trip to Wagga. For lunch I had an 'Outback Parmi'. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. Then I started in the home bound direction which took me along some back roads to a new cache in the middle of nowhere. A FTF on this cache and now time to get home. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs and TFTCs! My first find of the day. A nice quick one to start with.
Over here for Capital GeoBash Mega which has now concluded. One of my night cache finds all over the city. This took me a while, even overlooking the actual hide twice. Walked away to drive off, nah - lets return for another search. CIH, TFTC
Wandering around in the dark to find this one- we were a bit spooked by a police car across the road- thought they might have been waiting to question us. But not this time! *The generic bit*In Canberra for the GeoBash Mega. Enjoying the sights and the variety of caches to be found. Thanks to all organisers, volunteers, sponsors and COs.
Found by The Empire + HOn a warm and sunny day in Canberra, we set out to explore the Menzies Walk around Lake Burley Griffin. The weather was delightful, with the sun casting its golden rays upon us and a gentle breeze providing relief from the warmth. However, with the sun beating down and the temperature rising, we quickly realised the importance of staying hydrated. Armed with plenty of water bottles, we began our walk along the scenic pathway, taking in the stunning views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The shimmering waters of Lake Burley Griffin stretched out before us, inviting us to immerse ourselves in its beauty. As we made our way along the Menzies Walk, the heat became more intense, and the need for water became increasingly apparent. We made frequent stops to quench our thirst, taking sips of cool, refreshing water to keep ourselves hydrated and energised for the journey ahead. Despite the warm weather, the beauty of our surroundings never failed to captivate us. We marvelled at the lush greenery along the shoreline, the colourful blooms that dotted the pathway, and the sight of sailboats gliding gracefully across the water. Thanks for the cache, The Farmers 5.-M
Full time Nomads, travelling around Australia since 2014. Headed into the city again with the bikes on the back of the geocruiser as it's a publich holiday, making parking a bit easier.Bumped into Ian&Sue-Team Pathfinder, Lachlan1.77, weirdobiker, TeamAstro, Crystalfairy and barefootguru on the hunt today. Then off to the CITO to round out our busy day.TFTC The Farmers 5
Out and about again, headed over to Sydney early in the morning, grabbed a hire car and got some local hides before driving to Canberra for the MEGA. Super excited my first MEGA and heading over with 2 others from the Cockburn Crew - signed log as WAC to save time. This is 14433, hoping to clock over the 15,000 finds in the week in New South Wales and ACT.Thanks to The Farmers 5 for the caches we found.********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024 OZMEGA2024********** ********** ********** ********** ********** **********Head over to Australian Capital Territory for Capital GeoBash MEGA - Canberras first ever Mega Event. Heaps of challenge caches, hikes for geocaches for all levels of skills and fitness.
The Cockburn Crew are on tour at the Capital Geobash in Canberra - travelling from Perth to Sydney, Canberra, Sydney and finally back to Perth.Today was day 2 and we had an absolute blast. After being up late last night we backed it up again this morning with an early start to make the most of the cooler weather and lack of muggles in the morning cold. We completed a huge number of trails, challenges, whereigos, traditional, multis, earthcaches, labs, virtuals and puzzles. It really was a great day for variety. We enjoyed the large number of virtuals, and caching in territory we havent been before. Weve filled our boots with some of the oldest caches in Australia, some rare DTs and DTTs and generally had a great time. Thanks to the COs for a great day and event. Logs signed as part of team WAC (WA Crew)
Exciting times over the next couple of weeks as we takeoff for the Capital GeoBash in Canberra! Its going to be a flood of Sandgropers over east, with a host of West Aussies making the trek east for the event. Im travelling with fellow Cockburn Crew members Leg5 and Barnzy12, starting in Sydney and hitting the road to Canberra, before returning back to Sydney. Honourary mention to our fellow member, Cravo10, who couldnt make it after recently introducing a new geocacher to the world the week prior. Once in Canberra, the agenda is set, well team up with a host of Western Australians to conquer caches. Collectively, were hoping to make it the biggest ever weekend for cache finding. Following the event, the journey continues back to Sydney, with a mission to clean up caches and new Local Government Areas (LGAs), ensuring no cache is left unturned in this epic geocaching adventure. Something tells me that well need a holiday after this, well, holiday. All logs have been signed as WAC to save space, abbreviation for Western Australia Crew. Cheers The Farmers 5! Join us in Augusta, in Western Australias South West, for WA Goes Big 2024 (GCAGV8Y) on Friday 20 to Sunday 22 September. Log your will attend now!
It took us some thorough searching to find this one, but finally we succeeded. Clever hide! Logged the cache at 4:55 PM on a very warm day.
6 months ago, during a frenzy, we said to ourselves "why not going to the mega in Adelaide for the leapday". From scratch we moved on to preparing an 18-day project in Australia. Our objectives are simple, visit a small part of this immense continent while validating a few caches. There are so many caches (impossible to do everything) that we will select. Our plan will allow us to visit Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Mount Gambier and finish in Adelaide for the famous Mega.During our stay we will log PestiHoot for Pestinette and Blackhoot.During our 2 days in Canberra, we visited Black Mountain, the surrounding parks and the parliament while following the caches and labs. We made some great discoveries and great experiences. Thanks to the caches we visited many sites evoking Australian culture and history. Thanks for the cache and the discovery of beautiful or original spots

A very interesting location, and being well after working hours, all was quiet when we came to looking for this one. What a beautiful bell! The ringer was chained up, so, despite being tempted to ring the bell, we just had to admire instead! On to the search, where we found something very well hidden and safe. We have added our name to the log. Thanks The Farmers 5Domsky
Found with SJG66, thought the terrain might have indicated climbing on the structure, but then saw the "No climbing" signs. SJG66 then made the find. TFTC.
A trip to ACT with Chewinprickles - Day four, back on the deadly treadlies with Captain Tomato.
We rode across to Weston Park then back past Parliament.
A lovely day for caching.
A very impressive bell, must have been a bugger to build the frame and move the bell.
Quiet around here today so it was easy to grab the cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

Quick one on the way home from work tonight.
I had been past here before while putting together the answers to a multi. Out of hours is definitely the best time to go as there's no one there and no prying eyes from the police HQ across the road.
As I approached the bell I knew that there were several places to hide something on this thing. I've always found it helpful to just look for anything that doesn't marry up or match from one side to another. I found what I was looking for! Well hidden, when I opened the cache there was no log inside! so I substituted a little bit of my own, but it might need to be checked and have an actual log put back inside.
Thanks for the cache!

Spent more time admiring the bell than finding the cache, but when we got onto it, alislaur spotted it quickly (but it was very well hidden!) TFTC )
This was such a hard find!
After 20 mins we had the cache in hand

Was up early with Baristayan and she took me here after watching the sunrise on Red Hill to try and avenge a DNF.
For starters let me just say…what an amazing bell! I never knew it was here. But then onto the cache…we looked in every nook and cranny (seemingly) but came up short. Then I started clearing off some spider webs and something caught my eye…what an absolutely brilliant hide! Typical genius from this CO, thanks for the cache!

Quick find in an interesting location! I’m grateful for the nicer winter weather today. Thank you for the cache!
A brief search before spotting a telltale hint and soon the cache was in hand. Have seen this area from the roads but never stopped in before today, TFTC.

TFTC Thank you for hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity. Nice hide.
#2083 This was a fairly tricky hide. After searching high and low I was on the verge of moving on when I spotted a little sign. The rest was straight forward from there. Thanks TF5 for placing this cache.
I was on the right track from the start here but took a minute to spot something and from there it was easy. TFTC!
Initially I think I over thought this one. Then I noticed the log suggesting to use one’s Geo senses. With these activated it did not take long for me to locate the cache! Thanks nice one!
#13099 - 11:00; Stopped off to have a try for this cache after an appointment further up the hill. No parking close, so left the geomobile along the street and headed down. Decided things were best left to the geosenses and it worked out well, with the cache retrieved and the log signed. TFTC The Farmers 5
Love this hide! Second stop on today’s after work walk. Took me way too long to spot this but the occasional rain drops and lack of muggles gave me plenty of time to scope it out. TFTC TF5!
Cache 7970 on 20 Jul 2021.
A miserable morning to top up my cache numbers for the day, but needs must. Bobl27 kindly offered to drive which resulted in a quick trip to our favourite bakery in Fyshwick before being dropped back to work. Picked up 3 adventure labs and three physical caches.
Took me a couple of circuits to find what was needed!
Thanks The Farmers 5 for the cache and the fun!

Dropping Pebbles off in town, time for some caching in the area some ALs and some traditionals.
First physical cache of the evening. I was glad that it was dark and I had the place for myself in the search it didn't take too long to spot the sneaky hide.
Thank you The Farmers 5 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Tenth of 14 finds on a morning walk through the wetlands and around the lake. We had spent some time at this bell on a late night walk home from dinner nearby so it was good to be here in the daylight. Unfortunately there was something going on in the closest building so we had to spend some time sitting, having a drink of water, reading signs and then "taking photos" once we had found the cache. Zita luckily spotted it, very well hidden and could have taken a lot longer. TNLNSL TFTC
Beautiful day to get out and cache. Interesting big of machinery. Would not want to be to close when that goes off.
Thanks for the cleaver hide.

My first for the day, coming out to check out the grassland on the hill and get some caches. If coming for this cache, I would recommend 17:30 on a Sunday, as the area was blissfully quiet, and I was able to park in the private carpark. Cache was very cleverly hidden, making the most of the spot. Interesting to read of the varied history of the bell, and it's various owners. Thanks for the cache The Farmers 5!
23,548. Found with minniek today after the Aranda CITO.
With the Aranda Bushland CITO done we headed out to do some more caching. This was the next one on our list. We parked nearby and did the short walk in to GZ, where we made a nice quick find of the neatly hidden cache. Signed the log, replaced the cache as found, then we headed off to the next one.
Thanks The Farmers 5 !! Favourite Point. I once stayed a weekend at Bishopthorpe with a church youth group way back in 1975 !!

fitzy_1965 and I headed into Canberra for a CITO and a bit of caching.
After the CITO, we teamed up with Sol de Lune & LuckL10n to tackle a few caches on this side of Black Mtn then went our separate ways for more caching.
All quiet here today making for a quick and easy find.

Ju and I had to drop into work today and as we were leaving, and as there was nobody around, we stopped for this one. I had it spotted immediately but Ju took another 30sec to spot the tell. TFTC
A quick pickup on the way through. Lovely bell . Would have like to hear it ring out. TFTC Farmers 5.
Found during a lunchtime 'return to work' stroll. I've looked very briefly on my way past on a few occasions - eliminating more spots each time I looked. Today I put my hand on it immediately! TFTC TF5 - your caches are always fun.

Was not aware of this bell despite doing regular maintenance on Cultural Platfore!m. I was on the right track in my search but the wrong side initially. Thanks The Farmers 5

I set out to pick plums, but seems I was too late, as they are finished, although there is evidence of there never having been many to start with this year. In frustration, I looked for something else to do, and settled on finding this cache. I cycled on, and found a few plums (not enough to even half fill a small bag though) elsewhere on the way. Local fruit trees have been a disappointment this year.
It was quiet near GZ, with only a lone walker passing by, so that made it easy for me to search. Soon I spotted the clue and had the cache in hand. Cache and log are good. I like the hide. Have a favourite point. This is one thing I enjoy about geocaching; it often brings people to features they might not have visited otherwise. TFTC The Farmers 5.

Found on my way home from the Secret Santa event. It being a weekend and late in the day, parking right near GZ was legal and plentiful of space. Got to GZ and only looked in a couple of places before uncovering the clever hide. Great spot - TFTC TF5!
After a few DNFs because it was just to dark to find them, this was a welcome change and quick find.
Nice hide.
Thanks for bringing me here, have driven past thousands of times.

Knowing F5 caches....I wasn't keen to start sticking my fingers in places where the hundreds of spiders were lighting up my torch light. Luckily I made a quick find, and my phone screen didn't even break when I dropped it! Win win! TFTC!
Overthought this one initially which resulted in a bumped head. Stood back, took stock and spotted another likely spot which turned out to be correct. TFTC The Farmers 5
