Needs maintenance, every now and then, we have a quick look on the way home, and noticed that the cache is not there, all that's left behind is the magnet, this isn't the first time it was gone, a few weeks ago I found it laying on the ground and pit it back, bit couldn't find it anywhere today.
Coordinates changed from:S 40 57.552 E 175 38.121Coordinates changed to:S 40 57.556 E 175 38.123Distance from original: 26.0 feet or 7.9 meters.Hopefully this change will be more muggle proof.
Early morning on our way back home after a great weekend in the Wairarapa. Had to wait for a couple walking their dog on a leash, before we could do a quick search. Cache soon in hand, signed and replaced. Great to have another park discovered here.
Another trip to Masterton and a Skindo trad found along a walkway I didnt know about.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache KiwiDragonfly.
Forgot to log maintenance at the time of replacement. Logging now to update cache status.
Nice quick find in the dark. Paddle Chick took one side and I took the other - one of us found it. TFTC # 19,908

A nice quick find, in a lovely spot. Thanks for placing your cache.
Ms_KR and I are off for a wee break "up north". Today we drove from Masterton to Wellington to catch an early morning ferry. The weather got wetter the closer that we got to Wellington.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. .

We loved the sign at the entrance to this park, it looked like the name was floating in mid-air. The cache was a super quick find and we were off again to the next cache. TFTC

New container in place. This one is larger than the original, so please ensure it is kept out of sight.
*Catching up on some long overdue logging*A group of Wellington cachers are staying for the weekend in the Wairarapa, courtesy of Twig's Tours - A fun adventure for all!!!After some FTF caching this morning, and a yummy brunch, we set off to find a list of caches between Greytown and Masterton. After boating out to the islands on Henley Lake I split from the party so I could visit a friend who I was long overdue seeing. After a catch up, and some choccy bikkies, I hung about in Masterton for a bit, did a maintenance run on my caches, and nabbed a few smileys, this being one. I arrived just as TrinityNZ was leaving the scene.Strange. I grew up in Masterton. I lived here for 22 years. My friend used to live at the end of this culdersac. However... I never knew this wee reserve was here. Thank you for bringing me here!
What a great name for a cache. I just had to find this as soon as I’d heard about this cache, while on a visit to Masterton with JustLookingOO and Flossie110. So we made a detour here especially. We found the container on the ground, with the lid missing. We replaced the log and added a plastic bag, but recommend the CO replace the container ASAP. Getting a FP from me for the cache name alone
While we confess to general ignorance when it comes to Star Trek, the cache was a quick easy find, although our interpretation of the hint was a little different from what we encountered. TFTC
#12,961. Interesting write-up. An enterprising exploration of Kirk Reserve in Solway, Masterton. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition. Although the log book was a little damp, it was still ok to write on. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and .T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e..M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.
I'm a big Star Trek fan, I even meet William Shatner when he visited Sky TV, nice hide here, cheers
(# 6879) Day trip over the hill for a touch of caching. Even better that it is a pleasantly fine day. A quick find but the log was full. Have added a new log into the container so all good to go. Thanks for bringing me here.
#1703. Day 1 of a short sojourn in the Wairarapa for R&R for GB Leader and I, making the most of level 2 of this COVID-ravaged last half of this year.
We drove across the very cloudy misty Remutakas yesterday, and made it to Masterton in time for Jacinda’s 4pm update. No change for us, and a little respite for Auckland. Resisted grabbing a cache on a walk last night, as Reach the Peak Elbrus, round 3 of this Groundspeak Challenge, starts today.
There’s a 10 leg Broadband Box Art Ad Lab series here in Masterton, so plenty of scope for reaching the peak. Did an early morning walk from the motel, grabbed the first AdLab and continued on foot and then by car to grab 3 more broadband art legs and a couple more trads.
After lunch, we knocked off a few more Broadband art legs, and also some Trads. This was the second - what a cute little forest of totara trees slap bang among the houses. Nice easy find but the captain’s log will need replacing pretty soon - only space for 2 or 3 more finders. Signed as Rogerw1nz/GBL.
Stardate 20211005: No sign of Capt Kirk, the USS Enterprise, any Klingons or dreaded Borg. Next week James T Kirk’s alter ego, William Shatner, aged 90, is having his first REAL ride into space courtesy of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket. “Space: The final frontier … to boldly go where no man has gone before!”

Had a nice walk to find in a secluded reserve with solid surround. Birdsong was prolific. Wouldn’t have been there if we weren’t Geocaching. TFTC.
Beamed up from Wellington for the day, and this was the first target my phasers locked onto.
No sign of klingons (aka muggles.)
A quick find in a nice park, would have been a nice spot for a picnic lunch but I didn't have food with me as I was planning to eat at my favourite cafe in town later while trekking around on the adventure lab.
I don't normally give favorites for micros but it is the only viable cache size here and this one gets a point for bringing me to such a pleasant location that I was unlikely to have explored otherwise.

When the access path opened out to the landlocked little park, I thought it was one I'd been to before and been unsuccessful in finding a cache placed there some years ago. However, although very similar to another park near here, I soon realised this is a different and smaller one.
Not too much trouble figuring out where the cache was most likely to be, and so it proved. TFTC Kiwidragonfly.

I went for a quick drive around today to pick up a few geocaches that I had left in town and just outside of town that I hadn't found yet. TFTC to all the geocache owners, it was fun to find all of these.
This is a nice little reserve tucked out of the way. Managing to be fortunate as to finding short cuts on our bikes. Much fun.

It was raining fairly steadily now, so it was on with the rain coats to try and finish up the last few caches in the area.
Fortunately it was fairly sheltered at GZ which made it easier to find and sign the log.
Thanks for setting this up for us to find.

After taking part in an orienteering event in Masterton, I decided it would be the right thing to do to find a geocache before heading home. I had been meaning to try to find this one for a while so I decided it may as well be today. After checking that I had the place to myself, I found the treasure in the first place I looked - that doesn't happen to me very often with these types of hide.
I do remember watching a few episodes of Star Trek but I think I was too young to fully understand what was going on and developed a preference for other television programs.

A quick find and a good cache.Wrote in the Captain's Log and re-concealed carefully.TFTC!
A nice shady little reserve : ) Magnet needs attention as it has come off the exterior
We went to masterton for the day to locate the few newer caches there i did not have , plus The walk around henley lake and the fenshaw wetland bush walk all of which we did although not getting home until nearly 9,00pm after starting off at 8.00am.
I took some photos of the lake and today there was the BIG waka race day with teams from as far north as Tutukaha . the teams were really working and ploughing through the water.
thank you for this cache. i took nothing and left nothing

Heading home from Wellington and time to collect some smileys. Quick stop for a reasonably new cache. Thanks
Very glad of a quick find on this one, now to hit warp speed as we have a lot of ground to cover.
I was a bit of a Trekkie in my youth, but much more of a Blakes 7 fan! TFTC

#8436. Heading north today with Infoferret to locate some skindo caches in southern Hawkes Bay and to identify some locations that might be useful as cache hiding spots. We arrived in Masterton by mid-morning and headed to this newly placed cache. IF made quick work of locating the nicely hidden cache. Signed the log and replaced the cache where found. Thanks KiwiDragonfly for hiding it here. I enjoyed reading the historical account of James T. Kirk. Having watched the Star Trek original series back in the 1960s when it was in black and white for NZ TV audiences and then seen all the movies, the spin-off series (the next generation with Jean Luc Pickard being my favourite) I think I might be a trekkie! Cheers GSEL.
Last time I was in Masterton, a couple of weeks ago, I planned to find this cache. However, after driving around the block a couple of times without finding the entrance to the park I ran out of time and had to leave it for another day. We were heading back to Masterton today and as it was a dot day I decided this would be a good cache to have another go at. This time I had prepared properly, using Google Street View to show me where the entrance to the park was and we parked in Jellicoe Street and walked in.
I'd wondered why it was that there would be a small park hidden in the middle of a block of houses like this. As soon as I got inside I could see why: someone had wanted to preserve the stand of totara trees and hence the park had been formed to protect them. I had no idea what the hint meant and no idea what Star Trek (presumably) language it might be, but it really wasn't a very hard cache to find and I had it in hand within seconds at the first place I looked. I'm guessing that the little metal object used to be glued to the outside of the cache: now it rattles about loose inside. Not surprisingly there were no muggle worries. I have to wonder how often anybody other than a Geocacher would visit such a park.
Thanks KiwiDragonfly for such an exhaustive biography of a character I have often seen on TV and at the movies and for hiding a cache in this secret location.

Found with Tufty on a day's caching in the lower Wairarapa. After having achieved our objectives in the Martinborough area, we came north to clean up a few unfound Masterton caches. It took a few minutes to find this one - it was actually in the first place I checked but I missed it. After translating the hint we decided it had to be here, so returned and then a quick find. Signed log, TFTC
I teamed up with agcnz to go and locate the new caches out at White Rocks today and seeing that we had a bit of spare time before dinner there were a couple of close ones to the restaurant.
We had to circle the block before we found the entrance way.
Cheers for the cache.

Nice easy find with @peadub on a lovely sunny day in this quiet little park. Magnet has come off the outside but seems to work ok from inside the cache. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC
I love these ones where muggles could be here and no nothing of this cache’s existence. TFTC.
