Logs
Found it! Carefully made my way to GZ, on the look out for snakes after seeing the previous logs. Happily nothing was spotted today. A quick find of a fairly familiar hide in the last few days! TFTC!
This cache was found today and brings our overall cache find tally to 13833. Out wandering around the Barossa this morning with Farmer Frentzen and had a crack at this one. It almost didnt go so well when I stepped into the pond I nearly stepped on a 3 ft brown snake, that got the heart going! Once at the GZ, it took a while to find the logbook and sign but we got there in the end. Thanks Geopenta for the cache.
Found this morning after a short search with Big Matt. Had the cache in hand early but didnt realise. Out of practice it seems! Thanks Geopenta for the cache.
Heading home back to Adelaide I stopped off in Nuriootpa for some dinner and as couple of caches. I managed to make it over to the island without getting my feet wet. A bit of a search, but the cache was soon in hand. A favourite point from me. Thank you Geopenta, for placing Ducks Hideout for the geocaching community.# # #15821 # #
After arriving at our accommodation in Nurioopta, StreetWalkerNZ and I had a reviving cup of time, then went out to find some cache and some food.No water in evidence today so a dry walk to GZ. Not so sure what it will be like after steady rain in the last 12 hours. Nicely hidden. Now to look for some food. TFTC.
#24714. A fun cache for the last find of the day. No trouble reaching the island with dry feet, then a bit of a clamber to get on top. It didn't take long to spot the very nicely engineered cache. After we got back to base there was a spectacular thunderstorm, which made me wonder that would have caused the "island" to be a real island today. TFTC.
We are on a caravanning trip around Australia seeing the sights and finding a few caches along the way. We are staying at friends place and decided to stay an extra night, so we had an extra day to fill in. So we decided to get the bikes out and ride a bit of this trail. Such a great trail. And some great caches along it aswell. Handed out quite a few favourites today. Thanks geopenta for placing these caches. No water surrounding the island today. So a quick walk across and after a bit of a search I located it. Fav point added.TFTC
Found it on a sunny dayAn absolutely brilliant cache. Incredible camouflageWell, done and deserves an FP .TFTC
Thankfully I was able to make the approach without getting wet feet today, a beautiful park to explore. TFTC!
The temptation of finding nearly 1,000 caches on a road trip in South Australia was proving all too tempting. So a date was set, flights were booked, and a car was hired. The Rats, Steeba, Wilbert67 and I were off to tackle the On Ya Bike series, and surrounding caches. Cache logs were either stamped, or signed GG (Gong Gangsters). We covered a great many kilometres, finding caches and enjoying the scenery. We camped under the stars. We enjoyed cold weather, rain and a winter heat wave. We cached in the dark. We cached in the light. We found some ordinary caches, and some brilliant ones.As is so often the case with our trips, the banter was constant, the jeering persistent, and the company excellent. Mind you, it is a lot easier to listen to Rugby League on the radio in the great State of New South Wales! This boiler-plate log does not take anything away from some of the excellent caches that we found, and I am appreciative of all of the cache hiders for their efforts in placing and maintaining all of these hides. We all ticked over mini Milestones during this trip, but notably I found my 20,000th cache. A Milestone I am very happy to have shared with my mates; mates that I have found thousands of caches with previously. Heres to many more caching adventures!Cheers
Ahh a long weekend caching in South Australia with the Gong Gangsters is way too good an opportunity to pass up. With dates set and leave passes granted we managed a 4-day caching spree - targeting the On ya bike series. The variety of finds was wide and diverse, we travelled with our own totts. Our finds are logged with our Gangster stamp or GG on the smaller logs. Thanks to all the COs who provided us with a great weekend, filled with laughter, banter and much more that cant be said. Thanks to my fellow caching buddies - steeba, Hoojar and Wilbert.TFTC
Found with The Rats, Hoojar and Wilbert67. Another big trip some time in the making to get some good numbers. Plenty of solving and working out final coordinates, packing lists and arranging transport from New South Wales to some of the mallee country of South Australia. As always plenty of laughs and great company. As always a variety of types and hides.Unless otherwise flagged cache found all ok. Thanks for placing these series.TFTC!

Perhaps we are lucky it has not rained a lot of late. Was a reasonably easy one to access and find for us. The silver lining of a dry season! TNLN TFTC
wow; what a crazy search that was. very cool cache and camouflage too, thanks!
Staying in the CP with geohubby doing van maintenance...time for a walk. Very clever hide. Thanks for the efforts!
What a brilliant cache! Love the work involved. The lake was dryish and no ducks around so they were hiding well. Found on a walk before exploring the Barossa. Tftc
@1705. Pond dry but slippery to access Island. Trees help when shoes will not grip. Brilliant hide. Staying in the caravan park for a few daysCache in great condition, thanks.
Caching with team SPBINZ, Sidewaze, Paddle chick, bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie. After a great day yesterday putting (almost) all of the bunches of grapes in the "Barossa" series back how they were we're having a much more varied day today and having a good look around. Thanks for the cache and greetings from Aotearoa / New Zealand. ??!(Sorry about the late log, by the time the logs on our trip had been "audited" I was off on another adventure ??)
Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ and Nanzie are caching our way around the Barossa signing our logs as SPBINZ or some variation on that. TFTC Geopenta#16440
Yesterday we were out signing off as many of the grape geoart as we could. Today we are out on a bit of a random caching mission and now that we are off the trail we are seeing a few more of the sights and a lot more of the region. Found as part of the SPBINZ team (Sidewaze, Paddle Chick, Bullertrout, IsisNZ, and Nanzie). TFTC Geopenta and kia ora from Aotearoa/New Zealand # 21,995**tepoti/Dunedin is the place to be 26-27 October, 2024 for GCA7ZHD - Geo Toroa Mega! Please come and join in the fun, find heaps of caches and experience some wonderful Southern hospitality.**
Found with the Nelson crew. Staying in the Barossa for next few days so off to find caches
Found with chubly09 Took us a while but we found it in the end Definitely deserves a favourite point From buddy9
A bit prickly and spike but worth the search for a splendid hidComing back from a river trip and grabbing some caches along the wayTftc
We found it great cache kids loved it we didnt have a pen to log into the book
We were staying the Caravan Park and the weather had finally cleared up. Of course it had as this was the day we were leaving. But with a little bit of time before meeting friends for lunch we went in search of this Cache. Despite all the recent rain the Duck Pond was dry and made it easier to find the location without the need to waddle into water. What a Great Cache which I am sure would puzzle lots of Newbies. So a Fav Point from us for the Design of the Cache.
Fantastic hide! We were on our hands and knees and all sorts but the sharp eyes of Mrs Mellison got us there in the end. We’ve been out for a weekend of caching with Mrs Mellison and team Paulf76. We love the Barossa and had a great night last night. This is find number 13 for the weekend. TFTC
AussieGal88 and myself are spending our daylight hours going on a trip up to the Barossa for a day of cache finding and also to visit the GeoStuff store.
We travelled around Nuriootpa, Angaston and Greenock and got a total of 17 finds and one adventure lab completed for the day for this pineapple.
The river was dry today and so getting within 10 metres of GZ wasn't too difficult.
Getting to the cache was much more difficult, however.
Turns out I had crawled into a spot that the cache wasn't even in. I only found out when completely in and surrounded by branches on all sides.
After wiggling out of there I actually followed my GPS and the cache was found not long after.
Awesome work on the camo here! Absolutely amazing hides being produced by this CO!
A favourite point being allocated... I'm going to run out of them by the end of the day I think.
Thanks for bringing us to this awesome spot and thanks for the awesome hide.
I signed the log book as "Goldy"
Thanks Geopenta for this traditional cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3440 on the 26th of August 2023.
CITO's are a brilliant way to help keep our community area's clean. The Earth is our playing field and we need to protect it!
Always be sure to cache the "leave no trace" way!
**South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!**

This cache hasn't been found for some time. I spent time looking for it with no result. Please check.
Greenock Day 2
Camping for a couple of nights at the reserve.
Today our trip took us to Kapunda to Nurioopta & return to Greenock.
A variety of caches found in some amazing locations. A few ALs completed also
Hubby found this one, said it was worth a FP
Thankyou to the CO's for placing these caches.

This cache has been on my list for many years. Not often I get to Nuri. Was out with 3 of my sisters and they also loved this cache. Fortunately it was very dry and we kept our eyes open for any slithering creatures. Was very happy to log the cache. TFTC
Lucky enough that the pond was dry, still took some hunting. Very clever hide. TFTC. Out with PirateLinda & CatBoy67.
Found with clanbeckett, abeck58 and catboy67 on our Roadtrip exploring the surrounding countryside of Adelaide.
This hasn't been a caching holiday so I've been very selective with the few caches we have gone for. Clanbeckett actually spotted the favourite points on this one so we made a quick detour.
Nice cache container

Well it looked dry but as I got closer I realised perhaps not as dry as I thought!
Another time.
Great location though.

A great little walk through a beautiful park. Birds singing kookaburras laughed. Thanks Geopenta for the cache
Day eighteen of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
The weather really could not make its mind up today, but it held off long enough for us to get our caching done. A couple of AdLabs and a pile of short walks made up our caching today. Our last day in the Barossa.
It is the middle of winter, when does this pond have water in it?
A short (dry) walk to the island.
A nicely constructed cache.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19382. Day 18 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. Sadly, our last day in the Barossa based at Tanunda, before heading to Tailem Bend tomorrow. With the weather looking very dicy we once again thought that caching by car was the way to go. We headed to Nooriootpa and did some trads and an AdLab or two before calling it quits when the rain arrived.
Didn't need to worry about ducks or waders this morning. An amazing hide that was a pleasure to find so worthy of a favourite point. This was certainly a busy place this morning with many dog walkers (us included).
Thanks Geopenta

Another cache found with richlink on our 2022 South Australian Adventure.
Thanks for the cache Geopenta.
Thanks for the cache Geopenta.
Not a duck in sight as I stamped the log after finding the cache. A bit of creativity and a nice treck made for a fun cache. TFTC
We are finally able to travel interstate without heaps of loops to jump through. We thought we would take it easy and have a look around South Australia and grab a few more LGA's while we were here.
First one for the day while out on my morning run from the caravan park. It was a bit of a scramble to get to but eventually reached GZ and started looking. I moved some things around and something felt odd. Ahh very well done. A favourite from me.
This was find number 1 for the day.

At least no wading today! Quack quack. Feathers only sign of ducks. Lovely park - such a fantastic community resource. Third day in SA and out on trusty treadles aka my mtb to explore the trails and surroundings. I’ve learnt theRE are plenty of quality SA caches - plenty to pique the curiosity and anticipation of another surprise or fun cache. Happy and relieved to record no DNF’s today and on average most were located ‘relatively’ quickly. TFTC AND THE FUN and the effort to contribute to this fave game!
In the area visiting friends and cacher who has had a hiatus from caching for many a year. A quick look at the map showed a number of nearby caches that were within walking distance. On a moonless night we took the dogs for a walk, grabbed a few torches and hit the trails. Found our way to GZ with no boat required at the present time and came across a very clever cache hide. A fav from us. Extra points for anyone that claims this one with a water crossing undertaken. TFTC
With the GeoKids still on Victorian time we were up before the supermarket opened, so with some time to kill we thought we'd explore the nearby Adventure Lab and caches in the near vicinity. No water or ducks made for a quick find here this morning. TFTC
TFTC Geopenta was a great find and a bit of a challenge but we got there in the ends great hide and a favourite point to go

WOW! By the time geo hubby Animal62 & I found this cache I had more bloody grass seeds in my socks & shoes than what was not on them! However, we did manage to find the cache, sign the log & replace everything back to how we found it. This cache has deserved a favourite point from both of us. Now all I have to do is sit down for an hour or so to get these GRASS SEEDS OUT! lol

Another great hide from Geopenta! Another fav point. On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce. Blue sky day, so it’s a great day for caching. TFTC Geopenta

With water levels low, it was an easy approach to the cache, although the final climb was not the easiest as we unwittingly took one of the hardest routes A quick search and we had our hands on the finely disguised container. TNLNSL TFTC
Found it straight away - but didn’t realise ... took a while ... covered in weed prickles now but one more smiley
A quick find for us today. Out walking the dog in the area while the sun was shining. SL TFTC

Parked and made the nice walk into this one from the north. No water here today so across I went, cache was found upon arrival and is all good
Today with a few new caches published and a new cache published in the Barossa thought I would go for the FTF and also clean up the remains that I had left in the area. A nice day out with 35 finds
