Drove to Private road. Drove back to carpark. Decided not to walk along the beach for 1.6 km in the rain. One day.

Visiting the beach and rock with a rainbow over the water. Cache quickly found and signed, then watching waves and checking out the rock formations. Tftc

What an appropriate spot for a cache! Initially we did climb the rock a bit, but then read the instructions and behaved accordingly. Found and signed, then we sat down to have lunch and appreciate the surroundings; nobody else here apart from a girl on a horse with her dog. Found with Debsnz.

A beautiful day to be at the beach and we enjoyed our lunch on the sheltered side. Managed to find the cache before the horse riding Muggle and her dog came along. Found with Spoonz2

Today was the day to get another couple of caches close to home. It's been a long time since I've been to Cook's Head Rock, and I've never appreciated it's geological structure before - enjoyed my revisit and new appreciation of it. Nice calm day and tide was low enough to be able to walk all the way around it - best rock structure view is from the sea-facing side, just be extra sure to take care and keep one eye on the waves, this is NOT a friendly beach. Easily reached the cache, nice and dry and a nice little collection of swag in there to excite young geocachers, took nothing but left a little signature swag item . Tftc.

An interesting feature to visit. This could almost have been an earthcache. It took a wee while to locate the cache, then a bit of manipulation with a stick to retrieve it. We were a little concerned that our visit was just after high tide, but this proved to be no hindrance to reaching the cache. TFTC

An easy one. Lots of fun for our first one.

Came down this way after a walk around Bull Creek. What an interesting feature this is, reminiscent of Victory Beach. Beautiful "sand" around here too. The geocaching map showed me the path to the correct side of the rock and the GPS showed me where to start my search.
Soon found the neat wee cave the cache was sitting in, and reached up to retrieve it - just tall enough at a stretch. Flamingo4850 and I signed the log and returned the cache to its hide. Then walked around to take photographs of the feature, when a rogue wave crept up and drenched me from above my ankles down. Lots of laughs as we walked back to the car, which was parked up on the road. TFTC.

Last night I was preparing for a ride this morning to do some trig points. Gave gc.com a quick check to see whether I had any unfound geocaches in the area (I didn't think I did) and was pleasantly surprised to see this. Once I had read it and worked out where it was I had a vague recollection of it being published and I must have filed it in my head to do later - and then promptly forgot it! I recall doing a cache here years ago. I remember the bike I rode to it on and I sold that in early 2011 so it must have been before that. So more than 11 years ago yet it feels like only a month or two ago. Not tall enough to reach from the ground but reasonably easy to snaffle. No-one around at all. Seems to be some confusion about the name of the road you park on to take the short track to the rock. Some maps have it as Clarkes Rd while others say Chrystalls Beach Reserve Rd. TFTC.

Checked on the cache. It's nice and dry and free of arm chair logging.

Very nice spot to find a cache. Biked from other end of the beach. Beautiful sunny day with a moderate headwind back. Thanks for putting the cache here

Great spot, great to get out here at last. - Thanks Bitsprayer

Nice drive this morning out to Crystal beach. The rock was certainly a magnificant speciman standing tall at the edge of the beach. Cache all good. TFTC

An amazingly sunny Sunday afternoon , plus I had the afternoon off as well. Wow. Great opportunity to take the neighbours dog for a walk over the beach.
I made the mistake of not noticing a sign that said "private property", so I ended up at a milking shed. Oops. A very friendly farmhand pointed me in the right direction though. Thank you, very friendly farmhand. For future reference: there is an access track to the beach which starts just a few metres before the "private property" sign. Because one picture says more than a thousand words, I'll upload a picture with the track entry with this log. Y'all probably already know exactly where to go, but me saying "I'll share this information with you" makes me feel as if I know at least some things. Please humour me. Cheers Smile

You walk on this path, then the path splits. If you go left, that is the short and easy way to the beach that leads straight to the rock.
If you go right, the track leads through the reserve until it stops just a few metres shy from a fence line. You cannot cross that fence (that is aforementionned private property) but you can just walk through the bush from here. The sound of crashing waves are your guide Smile

For you Vivofitters out there: walking from the rock to Toko Mouth and back will clock up 11.000 steps, give or take. For you Forerunners out there: that probably will be about the same. For you Apple watch users out there: throw out that junk and buy your gadgets from a decent company.

What else? Well, the rock is amazing. Geologically enthrallable people are bound to have a field day. The cache itself is in tip-top shape, and after having looked at the rock surface for a while I struck lucky at the first place I explored.

Thank you very much for putting a cache here. This is a great area to spend some time. Thank you.

Rather a spectacular spot with a good surf running.

Staying at a crib along the beach, we took the quad bike along to find this cache. We forgot to factor in the tides so quickly realised we only had 5 or 10 minutes to get back or the bike would get bogged down in the approaching tide!

The tallest amongst us found the cache which was nicely hidden and a great size for swaps!! There was a red stamp inside which had leaked so we wiped out the container and it's all looking in great condition again. Fun swaps for the kids. Thanks for the find!!
