It's another rostered Friday to provide tech support to the Feilding office. And you know what that means... another lunchtime of caching! I've been eyeing up this trio for a while and decided to knock them off today. This was the third one on my break, which took me a little longer to locate than the preceeding siblings.I started looking within 2cm of the cache and slowly expanded the search radius.Turns out I should have *decreased* the radius as it was right there! Thanks
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Today was still about the numbers and a tidy up of Feilding caches. Sadly, we do have to travel homeThis was the beginning of a very good walking trail The coords for this hide were very good for us. It didnt take long to spot this excellent hide. Thanks BrolgaandTui. TFTC.
Once again I am spending the weekend in Wanganui, and once again I have a Saturday afternoon free. Today I was prepared. I needed one more day of 50+ find to complete one part of the DGSc Challenge, and so today I was to focus on clearing out the Feilding area. An I did (mostly) thanks to a large number of recently published high quality hides, and a beautiful summers day. I had a lot of fun, spending ten hours floating around the region and gathering up Geocaches. Here's one I found.Another walkway I never knew existed, all good here.---Thanks to BrolgaandTui for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
TFTC. I enjoyed exploring a part of Feilding I would otherwise not have had a reason to visit.
Dad and the Kids are going tramping with Poppa and Mum. So Daughter (9) wanted to practice using the Garmin and take the lead on the finding caches going to Rangi Hut that she is doing later this week. Dad dropped off the group in the car at the top of the track and met them at the bottom leaving the kids to work it out. Daughter did very well and was able to use the Garmin perfectly and find the cache. Thanks BrolgaandTui
Found while out in the area searching for some caches with woolwood9 SL *tm/ww NZ* Quick find here, good walkway and time to return back to the car!*Thank you for the reason to stop for this hide.*
Out for the day with tmann421 today, heading to Feilding to grab some Ad Labs.Nice quick find hereSigned log tm/ww NZTFTC
The neighbours were watching me as I parked the car and wandered down the walkway, I was hoping I would be out of eyeshot when I come across the cache and I was, found quickly, tftc BrolgaandTui
Scared some pheasants from here - not sure who got the biggest surprise. Fairly quick find once we recovered. tftc and a reason to explore this area.

A nice walk with the youngest geopup along this pleasant (and well used) walkway. Was surprised to have to dodge so many muggles early on Christmas morning. This one took me longer than it should have and I am sure I had checked the spot where I finally found the cache previously but, there you go - not well enough obviously. A nicely constructed cache and worth a favourite point. TFTC

A recent find on this previous DNF had me reaching for a pointer and that was welcomely received. Back today and straight up to it in its hiding place. I know I checked there thoroughly last time, not sure where it's been in between visits, track all done now, thanks BrolgaandTui.
It's getting down to the last few days of October, which is typically my busiest caching month of the year, and same this year. However I've hardly been out, just 5 times so far this month, so I was keen to get out locally, place a couple of my own, and make a few finds to keep things ticking over. Got into double figures for the day and many of JOEYGEO's recent efforts were on my wishlist, and most were located. Thanks to all COs for their caches today.

Well my day didn't quite turn out as I had expected this morning, but that's just life I guess. I had originally planned on heading up to Palmy, by way of Foxton (to do a little cache maintenance) and then to maybe catch up with some friends and do a little caching.
That first part certainly happened. But I had only been in Palmy for a short while when I found out that another mate of mine (Yeti NZ) needed a hand in Feilding, so stopped what I was doing and headed straight up there. Having done what I could do there, I figured I may as well stay for a bit and get some outstanding caches here first before heading back to Palmy, including trying to avenge my DNF from April on this cache.
Having just avenged a previous DNF on another of this series, I hoped for similar here and was rewarded with a very quick find today. I was sure I had checked out that spot last time I was here! In light of previous comments about inaccurate co-ords, I was pleased to find the cache within 5m, so no issues there.
Absolutely no issues here with container or log, which I was very happy to add my name to although in hindsight I think I put yesterday's date on my log entry!
Thank you for bringing me here (again) today

This helped our mission to clear out a small chunk Feildings caches today and will be coming back to finish the rest another day.
Had a nice little stroll with one of our geohounds to burn some of his fat.
I wrote in the log and concealed it carefully back as found,
TFTCSL Thanks BrolgaandTui for this Traditional cache!

Walking around Feilding caching again today (GAR on his second day of dog trails near Foxton with the car) and enjoying the walkway here. Looked a bit further away than where my GPSr pointed after not finding anything and found the nice hide. Thanks for the placing and adding to my adventures today BrolgaandTui!
Easter Monday, and that dreaded back to work tomorrow feeling starts to kick in. But luckily for me I have a fantastic cure for the return-to-work blues, geocaching
But where to go? Ahhh, how about having a crack at avenging a couple of previous DNF's?
And with that in mind, I set off this morning to head to Feilding. It was a beautiful day so the drive up was pleasant and before I knew it I had reversed my fortune with the two pesky blue frowns and was looking at what other caches I might look for.
This was clearly one of those, and it pains me that I had to leave Feilding with 2 new DNFs (this one and 1 other) which I will now have to come back and sort out.
I started to give it a pretty extensive search, but the home owner appeared to do some gardening so had to beat a hasty retreat.

It was nice and quiet at GZ, in fact I didn't see anyone at all on the track.
No problems making the find. I could here violent femmes playing from the house near by which was a fav band of mind. So I happily sat in the sun, listening to the music and signing the log.
Many thanks for setting this up

Due to the postponement of the Auckland Mega, Buttels and the Crystal half decided to use the dates planned for the event to do some caching between Wellington and Palmy. We started at the far end and did the lovely walk along here. Wish there were more caches like these ones. Well thought out, lovely walking tracks, enjoyed it a lot. This one was a nice find in a container we'd seen in the last day. Thanks for the cache
The third of the series for us. I leapt up the bank to find this one a nice wee container. Only seen a couple of these today. Was with Crystal Fairy as we headed up to Palmerston North for a weekends caching. TFTC
I had a day's leave organised for today to head up to Auckland for the Mega Event. Covid alert levels mean that, that plan has gone down the gurgler (for now). I decided to take the day off as planned, and do a day trip up here. The lovely spring weather made for an enjoyable day's caching. I enjoyed a nice stroll along this path. TFTC
feels so good to be able to pop out and grab a couple of caches, track very very quiet today instead of the steady stream of people that had been using the path since lock down. thanks for the placement.
#12,507. We enjoyed another nice walk on this pathway between Quail (Whio?) Avenue in Mount Taylor and Homelands Avenue in Feilding. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.

Tftc. Love the container. Cache was quickly found, extracted, signed and returned. Onward for thenext walking track.
Completely misread the map so scrambling around wrong side of track. Realized the tweezers had gone AWOL. But cache safely found and log signed. Tftc.
Having a cruise around the area to grab a few caches. Time for a quick wander down the track and an easy find. Tftc
A beautiful day with not too much to do so I picked a few caches to grab - a couple of walks and then happened upon a couple of park and grabs on the way home making for a total of 10 for today.
This cache took me FAR longer than it should have as it was actually at the first place I had thought however I searched everywhere before coming back on to it.

Took the long way to get to this cache but got there in the end signed log and replaced as found tftc an smiley
I found this cache a lot harder to find that it should've been! I searched high and low and was about ready to walk away with a DNF when I finally found this cache - yeeehaa! Glad no one was around so I could take my time to scratch my head more than once.

I hatched a plan to get 2021 caches by the end of 2021. This did not go quite to plan but managed to get out and about on the 3 day of 2021 to grab some caches around Feilding, then toward Awahuri then Bulls on the way home.
This was also a quick find! I have used similar products to build caches so when I spied something a little different I figured I had the cache. Signed log and left as found, with a bit of ground cover on it.
Thanks for the placement BrolgaandTui.

A quick drive over to Feilding to grab the three caches on this track. Thanks BrolgaandTui for the cache.
(# 6460). Today is a trip up the line to Feilding primarily to attend the community celebration event this evening. A quick find. Everything in order. Thanks for bringing me here.
Beautiful morning to come and grab the remaining caches on this walkway. Completed my Modern Wonders challenge. Tftc.
Heading back to the East Coast after a week of work in Whanganui. Thought I would make it a leisurely trip and collect some smileys on the way. Enjoyed exploring Friendly Fielding. This place looks like it will be completely changed in the next few years with all the new sections. Still it’s nice that they have a walkway to explore it on foot.
Thanks BrolgaandTui for placing this cache
It was found by speedy geodatum before I could find my way up the slope.
Happy to share the {2TF} on these 3 caches on a lovely sunny day for some exercise.

Well these three {FTF } caches were not on my intended action for today! but as i was in Feilding I had a casual look to see if they had been found and i couldn't believe that they had not been found so i very slightly detoured to the start of the new track being such a glorious day to be out walking in the warm sunshine. . This is another great walk way/ cycle/ way being put in around Feilding . Thanks for the cache and your time and interest in placing it. haydn.seek N Z

Thanks to a spur of the moment invitation from searchSteve we joined forces for a Feilding expedition to the new caches in the area, and one or two more. It's great how geocaching lets you explore places you would not have known about otherwise.
It was a perfect warm, calm, sunny afternoon and all caches targeted were found, we earned some more Wonders of the World souvenirs, plus we were in good company - what better geocaching experience could you have?
The walkways were both good but quite different - Quail to Homeland being in open country and Bush Walk being secluded in bush, of course.
Mr G pushed on and had the cache in hand as we arrived. It was soon signed and returned. Fortunately there was no sign of an electric fence - it must have been moved. TFTC
At this point we headed back down the track to our vehicle to drive up to the top area later for the Bush Walk caches.
