Went out for a drive this afternoon and replaced the contents and the log book for Houlaghans Creek. All good to go cache on.
Another delightful day caching with our great friends Phetlern.Sunshine with very warm conditions made for a good day caching and Ad Labbing.A mixture of countryside and town caching directed our trip today and we had a successful day of caching. A very interesting range of caches and locations. We learned a lot about the local history as well. Thanks to baby&Mrsgopher for this hide along this dry creek bed.
As we head quickly toward the end of 2023, we decided along with fellow Victorians Suscoe, to make an effort to tidy up our cache finds and the appearance of our geo-maps before we begin setting our goals for 2025. A trip to Wagga Wagga was arranged and we thoroughly enjoyed finding a range of different caches, many very cleverly created by CO's.Day three of our trip and the weather was becoming decidedly warmer (for us anyway). So we focused on geocaches in the morning and then did Adventure Labs in the afternoon. This was one of the caches we found today as we worked our way around the geo-map.**FEEDBACK TO THE CO:** This one could do with some CO TLC - black mould is starting to appear on the log.Our thanks to 'baby&Mrs gopher' for adding this cache to the geo-gameboard.38410*This log composed and published using Geocaching Swiss Army Knife (GSAK).*
What an absolutely stunning place to stop I'm guessing in the weather months the ground next Jimmy would be possibly some sort of Creek at the moment it is dry but you can definitely tell that they're as a possibility of water flowing through it one day this one was a beautiful quick phone at an amazing stop with ample parking for the truck well the stopping and the wandering thank you so much for the placement of this hide I am only hours away from the depot and soon off to Queensland for a week off
Quick find on our day trip . Log book damp have placed in a new zip lock bag to hopefully help it stay dry .
Day 14 of my interstate trip. Today I left Oura and continued to head closer to Sydney but only got as far as Grenfell where I stay for the night. I managed to find 20 caches today and ended up with 2 DNF's today.Good chance to stretch the legs. TFTC baby&Mrs gopher
Quick find thanks. Left some swaps for geokids. Easier going down to the river bed than walking along the bank where the grass is overgrown. Clearer access to riverbed from behind picnic table on trucks side. Log damp but still signable.
Find 5091 on April 1, 2024Found on our way home from the Capital Geobash. Today we traveled from Canberra to Wagga Wagga. A nice stretch of the legs walking to the cache. Cache could use a maintenance visit soon. But is still signable. TFTC baby&Mrs gopher
TFTF. Cache needs maintenance. Has become waterlogged and I have no spare paper to replace sorry. 14/11/23
Driving by and decided to grab this cache.Found quickly as the co-ords were good, Unfortunately it needs a little TLC as the log book is very wet.Signed and replaced as found. Many thanks for placing this cache, baby&Mrs gopher, for us and others to find.
#20925. Day 1 of a short holiday over the border in NSW with Robmc and the geodoggies. We had a pleasant journey gathering caches along the way before arriving in Cootamundra for the niight. Enjoyed the sunshine and the scenery once the fog lifted.
The creek looks so beautiful when it is empty - think it would be good to ride a bicycle along it. There was a bit of sludgy stuff from recent rains not far from GZ and I discovered the hide whilst Rob was using his GPSr and looking further afield. The log book was very wet however and needs attention. We managed to use our stamp though so our names are legible.
Thanks baby&Mrs gopher

Day one on our short trip north to find some better weather. BettyBoo3747, the geodoggies and I are heading to Cowra and back. Tonight we have made it as far as Cootamundra.
The creek isn't at the moment! But we could walk along the side of the banks and stay out of the mud.
The logbook is a bit soggy, but I'm not sure why as the container is intact.
Thanks, Robmc.

Found It!
A nice little walk and a quick find here. The creek is more of a stagnate pit of mud at the moment.

Started my journey to the mega in Rutherglen. With stops in moss Vale, Yass and Wagga Wagga most Kilometers are done today. A chilly start of the day, but weather is good.

TFTC. Travelling through on our way to Albury/Wodonga to retrieve our Motorhome. Stopping every so often for a break and to find a cache. Have stopped here for the previous version of this cache, good to see this rest area be utilised for another good cache
There was a truck being repaired in the Truck Stop, but we just wandered on past and down to the Creek. Fortunately not much water, so no danger of getting stuck in the mud. SL the damp log book at 11.55am and picked up a very wet and rusting TB that has been there for at least 6 months. #8799 TFTC baby&Mrsgopher - a pity cachers don’t always close the zip lock bags securely! All good now.
Fortunately there were no trucks around today as we pulled into the wrong side!
The GPSr was all over the place with the cloud cover and tree cover combined so we had a mini tour of the area. Not ideal on a day like today in shorts and thongs!
Spent a number of minutes before finally locating the cache.
It was time to move on from Wagga, so we said goodbye to good friends and set off on our way to Cootamundra via Bethungra. Its still bitterly cold, but thankfully today there were only a few showers and we managed to dodge most of them.
It was mainly traditionals today although we managed an interesting Virtual and a couple of multis.
All in all a casual day traveling with plenty of stops..
Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache baby&Mrs gopher.

We decided to leave Wagga earlier than planned, was not happy with the showgrounds, So Mrs Snakepitter decied on Temora. What a great plan. Arrived at the free camp, setup, then got the bikes down off the bike rack and had a ride around town and up to the lake. Did a few Klm, and nearly got through before the drizzle came.
Grabbed the TB
Thanks baby&Mrs gopher for the caches.

Junee to Wagga . Travelling with pprass
Our 1st stop on our way into town, a nice large place to pull off the road with the caravan on.
After reading pprass log, anything I write would sound very ordinary.
If my Scottish relative was here he would have stopped & saluted the Scotch thistle.
Thankyou %OwnerName for placing this cache.

Found at 10:14 AM GAFF1 in the company of DiMorgan.
Houlaghans Creek near the pleasant and well kept Wallacetown Rest Area is a nice location for those that want to see black foreboding water that you would never want to swim in and to get there you have to fight your way through Scotch thistle like they were marching towards you to attack at any minute. Holy moly - does the mongrel know how to place a cache or what!
We were bracing ourselves when we approached GZ that we had to go into a further infested weed expanse, but mercy to god - p-pprass found the cache right in front of him, however there was more thistle damage to be had before the cache container could be removed and opened. Is this really a T2.0 or have the inhabitants of this region become true warriors of anti mediocrity - and Amazons as well Anne
Thanks baby&Mrs gopher.

Grass is long at the moment, lucky it’s not summer! Just out of flooding area from recent rains. A nice stop and short walk off the side of the road.
Heading to Weddin Mountains for the weekend and got the day off as well. So chose an alternative route to get some caches - a few different shires for the day.
A quick stop at a rest area I have stopped at a few times (but no caches). A quick stroll through the wet grass and the cache was quickly located.

On our way home from Dubbo. Stopped for a quick break. A nice walk out jumping the spikes, for a quick find with the girls. Tftc.
Went to find this one but quickly saw all the long grass and wasn’t wearing good enough shoes. Will come back with proper shoes or in cooler weather
Found this on the way TO the CITO in Temora! Not only was it found by an attendee on the way back, but the CO of this cache was also in attendance, how funny!
Targeted this one in the limited time I had due to its "Regular" cache size which is always a priority over micro or smalls!
Thanks B&M! Great spot after dodging the spikey plants on the way in!

Found on our way back to The Rock after attending a CITO in nearby Temora. Very dry and warm out. TFTC baby&Mrs G.
Despite the rain , the creek is still dry . The wet grass kept the burrs from sticking which helped . Been a few caches here over the years but this is the best one and it should last .
Great rest area well deserved of a cache .
Many thanks to The Rock revellers !

I nice hide and good use of natural camouflage. Walking carefully to GZ as the grass was long and thick. It’s a shame that the waterway is dry. It would be nice to see when flowing, TNLN thanks.
I joined a weekend away to 'The Rock' with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Nibletricecakes, Gliss! & Cosmonaut97. The main aim was a climb up the Lion of Kengal and the caches in the Olympic Highway Stock Reserve. We achieved everything on the agenda, even though some of took longer than expected. We had a great weekend staying at Baby&MrsGopher's place where the hospitality was fantastic. On Sunday afternoon I headed out by myself to Henty and Wagga Wagga. On Monday I spent the morning in North Wagga and on the Coolamon Highway.
My last day around the Wagga Wagga area took me to the northern areas.
Thanks for the cache baby&Mrs gopher

I saw this one pop up yesterday about 5:30pm yesterday and I placed a watch on it. This morning when I woke up, there still wasn't any finds on it and given I had a free morning I decided on attempting the FTF. I arrived at rest area about 8:40 and went for my short walk over to GZ. When, I arrived at GZ and after a short search I made the great find. After a quick flick though the logbook I discovered that I also got the FTF. TB visit and FP given. Thanks baby&Mrs gopher for placing this cache for me and others to find. TFTC
