I think this is the first time I purposely took an umbrella to go caching. As I parked the car it came down hard and I waited a few minutes before setting off. The roos around here were a bit spooked by the umbrella and scattered onto nearby hillsides. At GZ it took a short search before I had the cache in hand. I thought I had done these, but must have mixed them up with some other horse caches. On my way back, the sun nearly poked out between the still dramatic clouds. Short Trip Away Day #3 [25/11] of 3Day three of my holidays (and day #3 of 3 for my trip away) saw me leaving the motel early to start the day. I started by heading over to Fyshwick for a couple of caches over there. For nice easy-ish ones. Three in the Fyshwick Forrest and one over in the park next to Maryborough St. After finding those ones, I headed over to Belconnen to find a couple of others and then onto the Mall for lunch. While at the Mall, I also did a game of 10 pin bowling because why not? I got a score of 120. Big Grin Once I finished up in the Mall, I started making my way home. I found the next lot of power trail caches along Dog Trap Rd. I have decided on doing these caches section by section given, I drive past/through here so much. From there, I headed home while finding one more in Binalong before getting home. It was a great weekend away and I quite enjoyed catching up with everyone. TB visit. Some caches were signed as JM. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. Big Grin TFTCs! Big Grin'Just under 800m walk over to GZ from the parking coordinates, sure why no?' I said to myself. I have driven past this one and it successor many time since placement but I had never stopped off to get them. I had some time today so I stopped off to get them. I walked over to this one first given I needed the required info for the multi is here. Once at GZ, I spent about 10 minutes searching and I didn't spy it. So I took a moment to rethink, collected the required information for the multi and then started searching again. Then I spotted something that required a closer look as I hadn't searched it yet. Bingo, I found it! Big Grin It has been signed and replaced and now off to the multi cache.

Unfortunately DNF but we needed the multi for a challenge

It took a bit of thinking this one through and once the obvious solution eventually presented. TYFC! I wrote as small as possible noting how small the paper is. Hope it lasts a while. Thanks for your hide! Great spot

Rather than go to the gym after work, I decided to head out and get a few geocaches in this area. After walk up the hill to get a nearby cache, I walked through the paddock with very long grass to get this one.Like others before me, I spent a lot of time looking for the cache and reading through old logs. I crossed from the northern to the southern side of the fence (by crawling through a hole at ground level that is about wombat-sized) to continue the search there, to no avail. After about half an hour, with the sun sinking towards the horizon, I crawled back to the northern side of the fence, then saw something that looked promising. I pulled of a few things until finally something gave. Nice hide! Logged signed, I headed back to the car and picked up a couple more on the way. Thanks for the cache, Loci612!

Out for a morning's caching with ZQX and AngelG27. I've never been here - never knew it existed. But the walk was pleasant and the container was found quickly. TFTC Loci612

I was right there near GZ with a previous finder (AngelG27) and Fox in Jox. I was preoccupied looking for a rusty chain. Meanwhile FIJ found the cache.
Somewhere along the line, the name of this cache changed a little. A nice little improvement, I must say.
Thanks Loci for highlighting this interesting area. Nice views of Mt Painter today.

Maintenance check complete, logbook has been replaced and bison updated as the old one was perishing. Hallway for Horses II is also published and ready to be found after your visit here!
Good luck

I couldn't find this on my previous trip here, so today, armed with two previous finders, we solved the multi and retrieved this sneaky hide too.

Thanks, Loci612!

A quick find as I have been here before. TFTC

First cache for todays around adventure around Mount Painter (cleaning up loose ends). Second visit to the hallway, first time finding the hide. It’s much prettier in daylight. The log is much and needs replacing. Thanks Loci612 for highlighting this odd little strip and the sneaky hide. A favourite point.

It took two visits but I got it!
My first visit to the GZ was a dash in to beat the sunset. Once at the GZ I noticed that my phone battery was almost flat and I forgot to bring an extra torch.
Today I returned under a mid-day sun with a lot more battery life. I searched a bunch of places and then read through the logs for inspiration. I resisted the temptation to MAP and simply started my search again. As it turns out, I was really close to finding it on my first visit but didn’t not notice the container. TFTH

FP for the location and the tricky hide. I'd searched the spot a few times until I came up trumps! Unfortunately the log is mush and too wet to sign. Photo sent to CO as proof of find. Thanks Loci.

A tricky find! What i thought it would be, just not where I thought it would be! TFTC.

AN enjoyable walk up through the horse pathway. Plenty on bushlife to dodge and admire along the way. At the gz spent a good 20 minutes searching. That was hard! ended up on the north side of the fence with better access to fence line helped coming up with the goods.
An enjoyable morning out.
Thanks for the cache

Found by Anna-Liza Marcel Mason and Grammy. Keep searching and don't by put off by all the tall grass.

Took maybe 15 minutes to find. Would usually have given up but I really don't feel like going to find another for today's find. So keeper searching till found was made. Thanks for the hide.

When doing the Mt Painter caches in November last year with DeadThief he pointed out this hide which we left for another day.
I intended to attack this one with the Thief but found myself on a solo approach today after completing a nearby multi.
To my surprise I did not see a single horse. I did however spot multiple Roos and startled a fox who leapt from the grass about 3 metres in front and scampered away. Gave me a shock as well.
Once in the final search zone I spent some time scouring the expected and sometimes unexpected hiding places. Came up empty handed for probably 20-30 minutes.
Pretty keen not to leave without the prize after making the hike in I continued in my hunt and widened my search area.
Today the coords had me more so on the wrong fence line but in a narrow area that’s not surprising, and I finally recovered the treasure.
Thanks Loci for highlighting this interesting strip of land. It will be nice when the recent plantings take hold and provide more natural cover in this corridor.
Cheers.

This week consisted of getting away from work early enough to visit four or five caches, either on my scooter or driving, to try and continue building up my calendar finds days. Some days needed a specific cache type as well. This week was a lot nicer weather wise, warm but not hot.

Pleanty of grass, and lots of place to look. Very easy to overlook, but with a pointer in hand I ebentually discovered the tricky hide. Log image included as my pen was lost on the way here.

Thanks for the cache Loci612

Found with AngelG27 on a Wednesday lunchtime mission. Angel did the expert finding while I did the expert driving. She had a tough time finding this one! Sorry for the late log, TFTC Smile

Cache 6634 on 21 Oct 2020.

Out for a quick lunchtime jaunt with Bobl27 to find a couple of caches.

Well, not so quick after I walked in, searched for the cache and walked out again! While it certainly was as pretty as a picture thanks to the Pattinson’s Curse, the same plant made it a slightly nervous walk as there was so much of it, and in places, it was over my head! I followed a dirt track, possibly a wombat trail fairly well to the end of the reserve.

At GZ I was a bit nervous looking around given all the tall grass, but had a look at some options before deciding to phone a friend. Friend advised the place I had already looked at needed a closer look, and indeed, I found the cache soon afterwards. Then a pleasant walk back to the car and scoot back to work!

Thanks Loci612 for the cache and the fun!

We nwalked here over from Arboretum. It was not straight forward, but effective Smile
I guess the hide on such place like this could be less tricky and bigger, but I am not an owner.....

TFTC Smile Out for a spot of urban caching on the north side with Marmaduke Rothschild today. Nice little hide, just a bit tricky. Logged it Very Happy

Found with Contesta this morning. Took a few minutes to spy it though. TFTC.

Fine stroll. Ta.

Had to get out of the house for some caching before the sun was gone. This was a nice close by one and intersting one on the agenda.

Walked in the cool pasage and then what to do. Not obvious and I relaized only then that it was a high D rating. Anyhow i was not under any time pressure for once and started the search. It didn't take long to spot something wired but I had trouble reaching. Persistance payed off and In the end I SL of the sneaky hide. I was relieved to have found it given the longish approach.

A very cool find of an location out here on this slither of land!

Thank you Loci612 for putting the cache out and maintaining it.

Woke to a nice day, compared to the snowy weather predicted, so headed out caching (to top up my find numbers for the day). First time down this narrow reserve. At GZ, I struggled to find the cache. Eventually contacted a previous finder but it still took a few minutes to locate the cache. TFTC.

I perhaps chose my date of visit poorly as it was a but muddy to get out here, but its a nice spot.

Struggled for way too long at GZ before coming up with the goods

20-Aug-20
A nice walk through a corridor here. A bit wet underfoot, and lots of vegetation (not sure I'd like doing it in summer), but managed to get out to GZ without getting my feet too wet.
Had a quick look around GZ as I could see the rain coming, and luckily spotted something that led to the cache.

Thanks for showing me a new spot.

(Looks like its been busy here today - looks like all independant visits too)

The start of this walk is 15 minutes by bike from home so I rode down where I meet GeoPartner.

Lovely walk and interesting location but currently very wet, muddy and blowing a freezing gale along the track. Around GZ there are so many hidey holes that you can get lost in the process. I went for the 'obvious' spots and came up empty handed but GeoPartner followed the GPS and came up with the goods quickly. OR was it luck because it can be very easily missed if you are not using your eyes - damn, beaten to the cache yet again!

This is an easy 1.53km stroll from the gate near the community garden taking just over 30min for the return walk and find with only 40m ascent/descent.

Found with [@Decrypter](http://coord.info/PR75QXD). We were out getting some exercise and decided to try for this cache. We walked 4km just to get to the suggested parking. We then entered the hallway and followed animal trails to GZ. We saw mobs of kangaroos to our left and right. Once at GZ we searched for 10mins before spotting the hide. Log signed and all replaced and we decided to risk the horse paddock and head back via Mt Painter. The horses hardly paid any attention to us and we were soon on the track leading back into suburbia. All up we walked 9km. TFTC.

Looked there, but not well enough. Needed a tip to point me back in the right direction. Even then it wasn't all smooth sailing, but in the end good won over evil. TNLNSL TFTC

*FTF* with Tankengine and DARKSIDEDAN!

We parked at the recommended coordinates and made the walk up the little unknown easement.

We got to GZ and looked everywhere. Even where we thought the cache would be, but then missed it. Another look over and we soon had the cih.

This was a good spot and nicely hidden. Well done. Tftc Loci612!!!

Woohoo.. ! [FTF] with Dty73 and Tankengine. Well shit that was hard. Looked in all the usual places and looked again. Camo was very good. Both tankengine and I touched the cache without realising it before the find was made. Well done loci612 a great hide. Have a fav point for the cache.

Chooo ooo [FTF] - with DSD and dty73! I was heading to the new Fyshwick one first, but before I got anywhere near there, F5 found it, so changed direction to this one! Here I caught up with DTY73 and DSD! My first comment was - "Hmmm - I haven't been up here before"... That's always a good thing. An interesting walk. At GZ, it took a fair bit of time to find the little sucker. But eventually, found it was! Nicely hidden in an area I haven't been to before, so a favourite from me. - The funny thing was, as we were all walking back, we ran into two ladies that saw our cars at the suggested parking, so thought that this was the access to Mt Painter! Heh heh - little did they know! (But we did warn them). Thanks for the cache Loci612.
