A nice straightforward find here today while exploring the area.An interesting morning to hitch up and leave Bargara and get on the road. Having arrived home after a night cache to find a car had parked right up close to the hitch the previius evening. Impressive driving by sacada with margins so narrow to reverse and turn with many obstacles. Phew, made it out of the seemingly impossible. Into Bundaberg for more adventures of the fun type with caching, ginger beer and ALs. Gin Gin was a short stop that was a little longer. The joys of going with the flow! I've always liked little goats, and the groovy goat was a pleasant place to be. Not quite the same type of goat, but a good one still.Stopping for caches at towns as we passed, Childers had a few good AL's and a nice little town. Camping arrangements pre made, we arrived at a camp ground just north of Maryborough after dark. 100 kids just left that afternoon and we were the only campers. Great facilities, great price and they also had complementary fresh eggs to gift! Thanks for your cache to add to our enjoyment!
Finished another long trip around Australia. The 6th. Next up to Townsville to grab the Palm Island LGA. Only 2 LGAs to complete Australia.Firstly heading back south for some Canberra time.TFTC. Interesting start to the morning where someone decided to park right in front of the caravan's hitch. Careful manoeuvring with millimetres to spare and I managed to get the car in and hitched.Back to Bundaberg for the Ginger Beer factory and a few other caches.Went to Gin Gin to get the Ad Lab and enjoyed the food at the Groovy Goat so much we left town with only 3 points.Next to Childers where we did 2 Ad Labs properly with a few other caches.Next to the scout campground at Maryborough which was super cheap and he also gave us chicken and duck eggs. Worthy of another night's stay.Nice quick stop and grab.
found while driving to Childers, to see about some dinner, and grabbing a few caches, Thanks halez1993, all is in good condition
On a bicycle ride from Redbrook Lake Retreat. An easy find. Thanks for the cache.
Got a bunch of caches today in the region from our car out of Port Marina bundaberg. Thanks
This and an ad lab all in one stop. I threw in a Canadian coin since there was room. TFTC
Nice little spot here under the big s. Signed and returned cache to its hide. We started the a.l. at the same time.
Bit of a drive from town but part of an AL was here so it made it worthwhile Thanks for the cache. Kutgw
Very easy to find, not covered. Stamped log and replaced covered over. Thanks to CO
Today I took a day trip to Childers to visit the Heritage Festival and do some geocaching. As always the first stop when arriving in Childers was a coffee and cake at Insane Caffeine . The plan for the day was some new ALs and a few traditionals along with a walking tour, a visit to the CWA hall and a visit to the quilting display. I visited this spot this morning (pre coffee) for an AL and did not realise there was also a traditional!! I made a quick detour on the way home to collect this one. It was nice and easy to find. TFTC
I have driven past this one on a daily basis wondering if there was a cache there so today is a day of caching and we got it. Nice simple find, TFTC
TFTC halez1993 your cache Childers Historical Trail #1 that we found today as we travelled around the area. We had stopped here to complete the AL. So a 2 for 2 deal.Find Count: 17199 .
Found by Mary and David at 11:35. A true 2 for 1. Loving the sunshine, Have been to the final QOGM at Longreach. Slowly heading back to Melbourne. Our thanks to halez1993.
A quick stop for a cache at Childers on our way North.---Over a week ago we made a trip up to Yeppoon to visit family and some of the big things dotted around the state. On the way we stopped off at Noosa Heads (big pelican) and Maryborough before staying in Hervey Bay (big whales) for a couple of days to break up the journey. Whilst in Hervey Bay we went out on a glass bottomed boat and explored Big Woody Island and Round Island. Onwards again and we visited Childers, Gin Gin and got stuck in a crazy tailback a few kilometers from Miriam Vale (big crab, big donut and big Magpie). It would have been rude not to pick up a cache or two on our journey North. We visited Great Keppel and did some snorkeling (and Jack spotted a large sting ray), Emu Park to view the Singing Ship, Rockhampton (big bulls) to visit the zoo (which I wasn't too keen on) and just about every restaurant and coffee shop in Yeppoon. It's a lovely part of the world. On the way back home (boo) we visited the caves at Cania Gorge and stayed overnight at the retreat and then on to the Three Moons Silo Mural, Gayndah (big orange) and then onto the Bruce and straight back home.Thanks!!#3498
I was thrilled to find this today, my very first experience geocaching, I see why it’s so popular, I was ear to ear smiles when I found it. Thank you
On the hunting trail with SeasonedBird, Liz & Bruce celebrating Christmas in July. Another great day for caching.

For anyone making Geo plans, do yourself a favour and visit Australia’s only current Geotour at Ballarat while it lasts: https://www.geocaching.com/play/geotours/ballarat-victoria
And for anyone that can travel to Longreach, Queensland, late September 2023, Google “QOGM” which is the Queensland Outback Geocaching Muster. You’ll have at least 8 or 9 days of pure geocaching fun with around 200 like minded people attending a mix of events and access to over 200 geocaches placed by the QOGM team. It’s not a Mega, it’s better.

Total Cache Finds 13971,
After having the caravan serviced we are visiting good friends who live in town. It is time to head out to find ta few caches to help fill in our day. All the caches we found are in good condition with a large variety of caches and cache styles to be found. SL TFTC
Hi there halez1993, we found your cache Childers Historical Trail #1 today.
We started the day off by nominating a cache cluster in an area we would like to visit, and then took a route that was determined (mostly) by the next closest cache as determined by our GPS.
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around the area and ended up finding a variety of container types, sizes and ratings.
Coordinate Accuracy: We found this cache close to where our GPS said we should be looking.
Cache Condition: Good.
Regards
Ian & Penny

on a work / play trip from Brisbane to Bundy and had time to pick up a few caches along the way. What a nice little monument nearby that i had a look at before going to the wrong tree first and then once at the right tree spotted the cache no worries. THanks for placing this cache here for us to enjoy
First Geocache found for me & my kids & our Elle pup since moving to Childers.. Smiles all round! Cheers!
A planned couple of days away with my girls. Heading north to meet up with friends and stay a night in a motel resort, which turned into a sleep over at a friend’s place.
First on the agenda was a few caches in the Sunshine coast LGA. However, because we spent so much time at a FTF we had to move up the schedule a little. We grabbed a cache in Tiaro and then signed a few challenge caches on the way into Maryborough. It was then time to meet our favourite cachers Liz and Bruce. We managed to chat for hours and time just got away on us. We said our goodbyes and headed off to Bundy, but not before we stopped off for a toilet stop and cache find in childers. We parked right beside the cache, we got out and Maddie found this one straight up, well done.
We signed the log and replaced all as found and continued our journey north. Thanks for bringing us here to such a cool location.

Day 17 of the road trip to Townsville with LuckyL10n for the mega and today was day 4 of the drive back to Canberra.
After a second night in Bundy it was time to head off for Caboolture, with a few stops along the way of course. Heading along the back road to Childers we stopped for a few interesting caches to help with a few different cache types. No issue with any of the first few and the caches were all in good condition.
Many thanks for yet another cache on the trip....
