We continued today our tour of Queensland and thereby searched, found and logged this interesting Traditional-Cache.The weather was - said in one word simply best. The good hidden caches and the being on holidays kept us the whole day in a good mood. The cache had good coordinates, and thus was easy to find. The logbook was okay, and allowed easy logging. Thanks to alphag_25 for the generation of this nice cache Welcome to Proserpine (with the proper agenda), for leading us here and for showing us this funny location as well as the ongoing maintenance of this cache.PS: Please forgive us the uniform log which is needed due to timing problems - if necessary special actions and happenings are there described where they happened.Greetings from Germany together with the hope to meet somewhere like event or wood. Tftc, a little easier than I thought as I searched the harder places first.Have a great day.
Pulled over and let the traffic pass us and then moved in closer for the find. Really had my painted on but I found it in the end, Ratdog was watching her phone. Now for lunch before we waste awayTFTC
I’m on day two of a road trip from Brisbane to Cape York with Swellerfungus and Jezndez ……. Stopping along the way to stretch our legs and find some caches.
Spent a little time exploring here, found, signed and replaced. I did find a large green ant nest nearby with bright little green bodies running all over. Thanks for the hide.

A trip north and this looked interesting so pulled over. A nice sign and plenty of places and a few geckos. The hint had had wondering but we worked our way around and made the find. TFTC
On the hunting trail again with SeasonedBird (aka Mrs Geo, Salty Chook, the Old Boiler, Old Chook, Dirty Bird, Angry Bird & occasionally even Love Bird). It’s a great day for caching. TFTC alphag_25

Great Northern escape 2022 Day 102. Bowen to Proserpine. After a relaxed start,I drove down to Proserpine along a section of Bruce Highway that had road works nearly all the way. I managed two of the three I had planned for the trip and then setup camp at Proserpine. I spent the rest of the morning visiting the caches around town and out towards the airport. After lunch I went for the drive to the dam. Tomorrow will be Airlie beach.
The sign is pretty complicated, I am sure the locals a very proud of it. With so many options, I decided to start at the beginning and was duly rewarded with a quick cache find.
Thanks for the cache alphag_25

Hubby is just loving these welcome signs. Knows what to look for and usually pounces in 2 minutes. Geez. Tftc. Giving you a fav point cause I love the ease yet coolness.
A short search and GreyHams soon had this found.
Up to Townsville with GreyHams, timed well with a Mega and Maze and a lot of quality caching in the area to keep anyone busy for longer than the time we had! Counties were our primary focus, up to Cardwell and south of Mackay... a side trip out towards charters, we covered some distance in the 5 days away but saw so much.
Day 1 saw us arrive late in the day after a stop off in cairns, out towards Charters was a lovely drive with its drier scenery before back into the mega to catch up with friends and a Trivia night.
Day 2 was our Mega and Maze day. Lots of great quality and fun ALs on site, friendly people and a visit from the Mega's Easter Bunny for my chocolate egg! Even managed a refreshing squirt from a hose on one AL much to the amusement of those watching!!! Loved the escape room experience and then off north towards Cardwell for a little caching through more iconic north Queensland scenery.
Day 3 saw us walking the length of the strand, lovely historic area, lots of caching and great scenery to enjoy. A good solid morning in the area before boarding the ferry to Palm island, after the warm walk of the morning it was great to sit in the cold aircon with lunch, a cold drink and relax out on the water.
The visit to Palm Island was a beautiful location and very pleased to have had the opportunity to experience it. A calm relaxed trip across was a far contrast to the busy and rough trip back. Into the waves led to a wild and stomach churning bounce of the ferry as it made its journey back to Townsville, yet up top in the open wind and spray it was a wild and fun time!
Day 4 saw us driving south of Mackay for a letterbox trail. More iconic Queensland scenery as we drove, love all the cane fields, lush green and huge mountain ranges. The letter box trail was worth the drive, a lovely area and well put together and we even passed other Canberra teams along the road! Mackay offered lovely beach scenery, a step back into my childhood and a little adventure... plan 'F' payed off as it often does. The little town of Calen came to our rescue were the people were friendly and and the facilities and hotel worthy of stopping.
Day 5 and our last, the journey back towards Townsville with a few stops as we cached along, the heat kicked up a notch but the cars aircon matched it well! Up to Castle Hill and then our time was done and back to the airport and the trip home... Many thanks to the CO's for your caches that led us on another very enjoyable trip.

Found by Mary and David at 14:25. We'd had a DNF here on our way north a week back, but had been given more information during the Townsville Mega. Stopped off in town first to fill up the GeoPrado's tanks cheapy at the local Mobil servo. Had to wait for 15 minutes near GZ for the mowing men to finish, so as not to compromise the cache. Once the coast was clear, we soon found it. As with the other one, there had been a little cache creep, so we returned it to its intended spot. Another FP. Our thanks to alphag_25.
Making our way to Townsville for the mega and picking up a few caches along the way. The sun had just started to rise so we had some light and pulled up just nearby. Wandered over and the cache was find quickly. On to the next one! Tftc

Heading north for the Townsville Mega, taking 5 days and finding caches along the way. Thanks to the COs for placing these caches to show us more of your local area.
Today’s plan was to make my way from Mackay and arrive in Townsville but nightfall. Caching along the way and grabbing a few important to me caches, lol. It is just a 3.5 hr drive normally however this drive will take me all day and some. I had to be ready for work in the morning so it was a day of find what I could. Some were stops to stretch the legs. I am sorry if I did not write a note below as some caches stood out and others I just do not remember. I signed the log and replaced the cache as I found it. Thanks for placing it here.

Nice quick find after reading a few of the earlier logs.. on to catch some more smiles in the area.
Tft$ coords were a long way off on this one. Not sure if cache is still in original position, but placed it back where I found it.
Thought TOTT meant ladder, so we brought ours for a drive to Airlie....gotta love a supportive spouse lol.

We found this easily. Good to stop and break a long drive from Rockhampton to Townsville.
Mr K was about to give up when stubborn Miss L stayed and persisted. IT PAID OFF! FOUND IT after a good look. Yay! TFTC
Another one where careful observation and systematic searching had us finding the cache. At least it didn’t take as long this time!
Today is moving day. Mackay to Proserpine, not a long drive at all. Only shame is that many of the caches are unavailable to us as we travel. There is a lot of road work happening which have cut a number of caches off, and a few of the others are difficult to access when you are towing a caravan. Still, we managed to find a few trads as well as completing an adventure lab, so not a complete waste geo caching wise. We’re thankful we managed to access the few we did, thanks to the CO’s who put them out.

Found it without too much difficulty but not really suitable to pull off road here with bigger vehicle.
Our second find, had to be very careful signing the log as there was some moisture in it
Thanks
Thanks
We are staying in Proserpine with our caravan.

Day 3 of our trip north to Cairns. Stopping occasionally to break the boredom and what better thing to do than find a cache. Managed to find this one between showers. Thanks alphag_25 for the cache
Looked everywhere. Yes we did find the one at the other end of town but no luck with this one. Going by the other logs we were pretty sure we knew what and where to look but nothing. Seeing as last person was also a dnf . . . .wondering if it has gone missing.
Grey Nomads travelling around Australia - more recently, just Queensland, and of late, Airlie Beach area.
Last couple of caches in Proserpine today. Returning from the airport chaufering our house sit host sit, asked if she minded if we stopped here to find the cache - we had told here about our compulsive hobby.
Too sad, today, we were not able to share with her, as we could not find the cache.

My 2nd find of the day. A few months ago I searched for the cache at the other end of town without success but this one was a piece of cake. Therefore, it gives me an idea for next time I look at the other end of town
Inevitably on a long trip when many geocaches are being found, some get missed. Unfortunately, at the time, this was one of them. So, although out of chronological order, I am logging them today for simplicity. So my apologies for the generic log and the out of date sequence.
Our trip commenced on Friday November 28th and concluded on Tuesday December 22nd. During that time, we visited caches in Maryborough, Childers, Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Sarina, Mackay, Bowen, Townsville and Cairns, with other places in between like Proserpine, Home Hill, Ayr, Ingham to name just a few, with many wonderful single stop caches along the way.
Our party consisted of myself, hatzofff, grannysmith1947, and on occasion, youngoldfella.
Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC, alphag_25.

30/11/20 12:56 another hide that had the potential to be nasty. So many places that a nano could be hidden. Not too bad a run. 3 caches in under half an hour. Hopefully more care will be shown in the searches in future as several of the bits of rock have already been knocked off the sign already. Thanks for the workout alphag_25
Disappointed that we are the first dnf. Glad I didn't have my 9 yr old daughter with me as she would not have allowed that to happen, regardless of how hot and long the search may have been.
Out for a drive and this was the second welcome sign for the morning. The one on the Bowen side of town was hiding in the first Place I looked and this one was hiding in the second Place I looked. A two with Two P's in its name. That is not seen very often in our travels. TFTC
I was welcomed to Proserpine by a sign today
Looks like a good spot to hide a cache ay ??!!
It took me a while,
But in me own style,
