We're afraid this one has gone. There has been a lot of new housing development around here since we originally placed the cache. It's likely that there are now lots of local kids playing around the creek who have discovered the hiding spot. It has already been muggled once in a nearby spot, so now it's time for this one to retire.
Our third ever cache and the muggles have stolen this one to, but a great location. Will try again in the future.
mmm I looked up, I looked down I rearranged but to no avail. I hope its still there . I will be back
After having a clue from meeting maccamob at the event the previous day, I thought I would attempt this one again - it just can't get the better of me!..
I'm pretty sure we checked all the nooks and cranny's, but alas, we did not find it.
It seems weird that the cache was replaced a short time ago and it is now missing?

Tried to find this one around 8pm-ish in torchlight of a cloudy night. Probably would make more sense of GZ in the light.
Will try again another time, in the light.

Nice easy find whilst doing work site inspections near here. Found 'x' and have some details for the big 'X'. That could be good one to solve as it doesn't make sense as yet. That is a concern for later.
Council workers just on other side of creek, but stealth and careful foot placement meant no noise to GZ.
Easy find. TNLN.
This is a nice area that they have left. Looks better in real life than on Google earth.
I have left a happy snap for others to view.

Checked the container. The damage is superficial for now, and container still seals perfectly, so left it in place and will monitor.
Very pretty spot, found as it was just starting to get dark. Nicely hidden cache; I'm sure a bunch of the local kids must play around here reasonably often, but it's not likely that they'll stumble on it.
Container is starting to get a bit brittle; a piece of it broke off when I picked it up, but it's fundamentally intact and still waterproof

For the 1st time today (but not the last) the convoluted street layouts in the new estates around here had me thinking I was doing HomerJ73 caches out near Whittlesea . After a bit of repositioning because I thought TomTom had me on the wrong side of the water (there wasn't enough water to matter anyway, as it turned out) I managed a park very close to GZ and a brief search revealed the cache. I had a bit of a moment as I opened it, as it made a bit of noise and I looked up to see a couple of dog walkers on the other side of the creek eying me off. Luckily, the actual hiding spot was out of their line of sight and I was able to hide from view while I did my stuff. After replacing the cache, they were already heading off, so the cache wasn't compromised.

Like a few others I struggled a little with the maze of streets (haven't updated the GPS maps since moving back from NZ!) but to within a reasonable distance and had a nice stroll along the river for the rest. Plenty of people out and about but managed to duck in a swiftly grab the loot before anyone noticed.

Collecting a few simple ones around Werribee this afternoon. Had to wait for a few muggles using the trail to give me some peace to sign. Thanks maccamob.
A warm day, and a short walk led me this tiny scenic oasis, spotted a likely hiding spot when the GPS settled and bingo ! a cache. Also saw a blue budgie hideing from the heat.

Went hunting, but without the GPS there's too many hiding spots for it to be. Surprising (and lovely) little oasis in the heart of suburbia, but a shame that there's so much rubbish been dumped into the water.
Nice little spot by the river, just right to sit and relax after ...
Had a GREAT day, rode 64.5km on the Mountain bike collecting the PTPP caches and 10 more in the Werribee/Hoppers area, all on the bike, Thanks for the fun, Coooeeeeee.

Took a while with a wander set of co-ords thaen the GPS must have found another sat or two in range and took me straight to the hide.

One of several caches found in the area after having finished up working nearby. I helped survey the paddock that became the Wyndham Green Estate, and pegged out many of the house lots here too! In fact, the end of the street (near GZ) was our preferred lunchspot. I thoroughly enjoyed my return to this area today. The cache took me a while to find, but I had the place to myself so I knew I'd find it eventually. I startled a Blue Tongue Lizard during my search - a sign of the impending warmer weather and the associated hazards! Took "Aniakvik Creek (AK)" Red Jeep Travel Bug, LN. SL at 5:40pm. Thanks maccamob, it’s been quite a while since we’d found one of your caches - 14 months, and 470 cache finds later! Regards, Dean - 38degsouth.

Twelfth find of the day on our Werribee Wander. The size of this one was a regular and we were determined to drop off another geocoin if the coast was clear. Walked to GZ without seeing anyone. After a quick look around, no one was evident so we removed the cache and logged our find @ 1430 hrs. Left Feng Shui geocoin and headed back to the car. Just as we arrived at the car the first lot of junior muggles appeared. Phew. Thanks maccamob.

GAFF1. Found @ 2.10pm today by Mr Emu & Son. No.11 of 15 on our Big Day Out In Werribee.
Once again, thanks maccamob for leading us to an interesting off the beaten track area where we could enjoy some wild nature in the heart of suburbia. Mind you, it was almost a bit too wild. Mr Emu discovered a rather nasty-looking eight-legged fiend about 2 metres from the cache location while checking out other likely hiding spots. Ugh! With no gloves on it was a little too close for comfort, and I should have known better.

On my first visit many weeks ago I had no luck but then foudn that it had been muggled. On this visit I foudn the good hide after several minutes, within a couple of metres of gz. TN but left a badge. Thanks maccamob for putting one in this interesting spot, and replacing it. Somehow it must be rather different from his time.
After wasting time trying to climb a tree J decided to cross the trickle to find the cache hidden near a local paper boy's dumping spot (he cleaned up said papers). D had a ball climbing on the rocks whilst A tasted the local flora.
After deciding not to go with the Action Man "sickies" (stickers), D decided on the little ducky soaps which he swapped with a large rubber snake.

Got to get myself in the gold position in the new logbook. I do not think that the cache is going to be muggled from there.
Muggled! Checked on the hiding place and found the cupboard bare. We came armed with a replacement though, so the cache is available again. Please be conscious of possible muggle observation in this increasingly populated place so that this one can last.

We parked 30 meters from this one, then for some reason the GPS pointed to the other side. The stressed gum tree by the bank looks spectacular. It is amazing to see such an oasis amongst the housing estate (rapidly growing if the sound of the heavy machinery is anything to go by). Took lots of photos and then fought off the guard spiders (well, their webs) to get the cache.

My last cache for this trip and my 16th overall. Eight of them have been Maccamobs! You guys have certainly got this area covered and a number of them stand out as really worthwhile caches. This is certainly one of those. What a remarkable transition from Leggoland to quiet gum-lined waterholes. I really wasn’t expecting this and got some great photos. As for the cache, I was pleased that I got an FTF in the new log, and are glad you did replace it. Must have been some deluge? Took a small budda figurine and replaced it with a Plod’s whistle on a lanyard. Thanks to Mary and David for a lot of caching fun over the last couple of days [^]
DNF on 08/02/05 @ 1423 AEDST. First DNF of 3 for the day with Facitman (we did find 44 caches though ) This cache has sadly been re-located to Port Phillip Bay following the recent deluge . We searched in all the likely places and found a VERY cachey hiding spot that had obviously been under the high water mark, but alas no cache container. C@w confirmed our fears and this is now an ex-geocache

First cache of the morning with D from Killerbunnies (who got there first). Spent a while wondering whether or not we were on the right side, but ended up having picked the correct track. TNLN. Thanks.
We did it again. The high/low roads had us tricked for a while but found it eventually. TNLN Just wrote in the book and enjoyed the walk along the creek with geojen and geotess.
[Well, we were on the right side of the river, but we crossed over anyway. The "ducks" haven't floated downstream yet.] If you know what you are looking for, you can clearly see the cache location from the last sign.
Found at 1615. Lots of polystyrene ducks swimming around - it is still a really nice spot though. TNLN, thanks maccamob
For some reason I kept humming "My boy Lolipop" by Millie Small while we were walking around the paths looking at the wonderful houses and paddocks. This is a great little estate and reminds me of the area that we first moved into in 1960 where the houses were right next to a creek and bush - except that in our time the houses were about three times smaller than what you see here. Didn't spoil our dinner, but we were looking for a sweet by now as it was 8.50pm. Got to GZ and found that the pesky mozzies were waiting for us in their scores Took: Frog, Left: Bouncy ball

Caching around Werribee with barcoder. I'm still not sure why this cache is so named, unless this is the billabong that the jolly swagman camped beside. Perhaps that is because we approached the cache from the correct side of the water (for once). We didn't see any fork in the path, so we just walked straight to GZ. [^] <-- smug look. dak found it after a short search at 11:45. That's six to dak; two to barcoder. [^] <-- another smug look!

Another successful find. We walked right up to it. Dak's Chinese Horoscope is the Dragon (with water being the element). You would be excused if you were thinking that it was the Goat! He handled the terrain very well and pounced on the cache first. Perhaps the water element was the reason we were on the 'right' side of it this time. Still working on why we had to worry about our dinner! We took time to do just that. Delicious too. Not so delicious was the score so far though . D=6, B=2. Hmmmmmm, sounds familiar!

Ooooooooh, the final resting place is like something out of an Indianna Jones movie. You never know what will happen if you remove the cache.
Of course to get here, Indi would have taken the right track, we took the wrong track, but on such a lovely day, we didn't mind the extra walking. What a very nice area.
As 'G' was with me today (she's only 4 but loves the treasure hunting), we took the Stickers, a Ball and a Hair Clip.
In their place we left a Cat, a Dog, a Chicken and some palm trees. Plastic of course. We wouldn't stuff a live dog into a cache.
Thanks for a pleasant morning expedition.

Found at 12:25 after a little search. We made the choice of going down the wrong road and hence had a longer walk. Tania wasn't game to appraoch GZ so she sat back and left Justin to finding the cache - which he did with not too much trouble. TNLN. Thanks Maccamob
We have been alerted to an unusual obstacle at GZ, so we have edited the cache description to take it into account.
THis time around I found the cache but not after being on the wrong side of the river. Last time i was here it was bone dry now its full of water and so using the cache description I fiured I was on the right side. We looked and looked and found nothing. SO I rang maccamob and realised that we were on the wrong side. The cache details have been updated and I would have to agree with the others that the coords may be off by about 10 meters.

Didn't have much time to look, but hadn't read the other logs until now. Realised that although my GPS "supposedly" had me at GZ, we must have been on the wrong side. Had come to that conclusion just before we gave up, but didn't have time to approach from other side.
Like everyone else, we were on the 'other' side of the spring/billabong/whatever. Thinking like a geocacher, we suspected that is was over the water.
Next step was building up the courage to put my hand in and retrieve it. Dragon's Pearl got excited by the prospect of $US1 (especially as it was marked with Where's George?). I therefore left a set of four stamps in its place.

Popped in to this one after President's Dog. Initially went around the wrong side of the creek, but though the GPS said only 3m, I was fairly sure it was on the other side. I was correct and found it after a 5 minute search. I counted all the houses around here when they were under construction before the 2001 Census. There are a lot more here to count for 2006.
Found the area quickly then I was on my way. My GZ had me right on top of the cache but it was no where to be found. Was about to leave but decide to call Muzza to find out if I was in the correct area.
I wasn't . Crossed sides and found the cache soon after. My GPS was way off. 1st time today so I can't complain. Found at 3:30pm swapped a keyring for a rubber monster. Thanks to Muzza for his help.
Thankyou Maccamob for another stroll in another lovely park.

Found at 5.25pm.
Took a walk down the nature trail, but alas the heavens decided to open on us, by the time we reached GZ we were all soaked and what we thought was GZ wasn't at all. After heading back to the car we decided to give it one more go, and approaching from a different angle, perserverence paid off when 12 year old Westernstar claimed that he had found the cache, and of course he had! Took nailpolish as it was his sisters turn to choose an item, and left hair comb and Harry Potter stickers, thanks again maccamob for all your help.

Found at 5:20pm. This cache is in keeping with the high quality hiding spots used by MaccaMob - excellent! By this time I was ready for my dinner and spoiling it would have been allowed. Swapped a dragon toy (out) for a finger puppet (in).
Found just as the rain started. GPS indicated the other side of the creek but the cache descriptions led us to it.
Took a torch and left a set of 12 dice

This was the third one for the day but after my experience at cobblers I was very wary of being in this area with it being so dry and lots of hidey holes nearby. I had a bit of a look but decided that I'd had one too many snake encounters today. I'll leave it till another day.
With the warning of 'you won't want to retrieve this one,' I was taken to the area by maccamob. While they sat on a nearby bench, I headed towards GZ. My GPS put it on the other side of the bank, but I had a good idea where it would be hidden. Finding the most obvious spot I would never put my hand in, I called on maccadad to retrieve the cache. Took a wine stopper and left a squishy tennis ball. Thanks for the assistance maccamob, I doubt I'd have gotten this one on my own!
Found at 1820 - our sixth and last for the day. The scenery reminded us a little of the ''Olive Hill'' cache in Adelaide, but the houses are a little closer here!
Took a small tape measure, and left a bottle stopper. Thanks Maccamob!
