Our last day in the area before we head home tomorrow. A beautiful day to find some more caches here. Found with Earthlight and Shandyk, and signed the log EGS. TFTC.
The last keep coming in need of a bit of a hairdo and the shades are looking a little tired TFTC
Taking a few days off work so I can get away to Mildura for a long weekend. My first time in Mildura so lots of geocaches to tackle to keep me entertained. Perfect conditions to be outside and geocaching. This short trail of caches with high favourite points was high on my to do list. I was not disappointed. Every one unique and well crafted. Certainly put a big smile on my face. A favourite point from me. Thank you Deputy Washawa, for placing Bob for the geocaching community.# # #15574 # #
Bobs looking great. Might fashion some new shades for him in the future. Good to go for another year.
Bob was chilling back. Sadly for Bob his glasses have broke and he's lost a dready or 2. Great cache.
Found by Aussie Train Driver 12/06/2024, find number 1781.First find of the day driving from Mildura back to Melbourne. I thought it was going to be easy, but you got me! Took a little longer to find the actual log but I got there in the end. TFTC!
Certainly a fun cache. A favourite from us for a novel idea and well constructed cache container. After the rain yesterday afternoon and during the evening today dawned cool, but with sunshine, clear skies and little wind.We headed out in the morning and did a range of gadget caches out from Red Cliffs. Some great entertaining fun which we enjoyed greatly. How can we go back to searching for 'bisons in the bush' although we have not come across these in Mildura! In the afternoon we headed into town and tackled a number of Ad Labs, multis and trads. We even managed a Wherigo. Great locations and really interesting things to see. The Murray is quite a big river with lots of interesting features to check out.A great day caching.Thank you for your efforts in creating and maintaining the cache Washawa.**SKI Pair****
Found with muggle husband while holidaying in Mildura. Sad that no one had given this a Favourite Point, so I have for the effort. Does need some new sunnies though. TFTC TNLNSL
Thanks to Washawa for this hide.Interesting cache.Nice and quiet here this afternoon.
Found while having a look around the area today, staying in Mildura for the week. Yeah this one is pretty cool, love the theme. A FP, cheers.Find #6884 on 16 Apr 2024.TFTC Washawa!
Day 2 of our trip from Adelaide to the Canberra Geobash Mega Event. Travelling from Werrimull to Hay and grabbing a few caches along the way. What can we say, another brilliant, fun cache, reminded me of Cousin Itt from the Addams Family. TFTC Deputy Washawa
Bobs glasses are broken we tried to fix it but no luck but hes really cute a fav from me. TFTC out on the geoscooter with Algae on his geoeuc grabbing some smilies in the Mildura area. Decided to have breakfast in Mildura then hit some caches. A great day out.
I was in the area after attending the Adelaide Leap Year Event and naturally after caches. This was a quick find while visiting Red Cliffs. Thank you Washawa for placing and maintaining this cache. I am awarding it a favourite point.
Bob needs some new shades. Very fun and cute. Definitely worth the stop by for a look see. Here with kiwisteve2 on this hot day meandering around out here. Camping over at the Red Cliff Club.TFTC
Picked this one up during the PS power trail on the way back to our accommodation at the end of the day.Enjoyed the containerTFTCSigned log *tm/ww NZ*
Another nice find with woolwood9 today. Busy day on the PS trail but called in for these caches on the way back to the motel*Thanks for putting this cache out for us to visit.* SL *tm/ww NZ*Soon located. Very creative.
Tftc Deputy Washawa, the creative caches in the Mildura area are outstanding. Just as well we have a few favourite points to spare. This line of caches are all exceptional.Favourite point
On an west to east and back roadtrip, today is a lay over in Red Cliff. I noted the run of well favourited caches over this way earlier in the day, but it took quite a bit of cajoling the muggle man to get him to bring me here. I won (sort of) with this evening's outing bringing me to at least a few. Found bob quickly, and added my name to his attendance roll without too much issues. Thanks for the hide Deputy Washawa. Moving down the trail. Quick find. mogni had to go back to the cat for a TOTT to get the log sheet out. Out with Mogni for a 3 day weekend, leaving friday morning and coming back sunday night. The plan was to go to Cowangie in Victoria and then head in to Murray-Sunset National Park then head on to Mildura and come back via Rufus River road ( in New South Wales ) to South Australia. Night 1 was in the Murray-Sunset National Park at Mopoke Hut camp ground and Night 2 at Mildura then going back to Adelaide. It must have rained recently in Murray-Sunset since the sand wasn't like fine power as expected and other sections of the National park had bypass tracks around the water filled ruts in the main track. Going around one of the bypass tracks i staked a tyre on the friday but didn't notice it to saturday morning. The stake went right beside the tread and the inside wall of the tyre, the stake was the size of my finger tip. Also turns out that i got a screw in my rear tyre thrusday night leaving work. There was alot of reinflating tyres this trip. The flora change in the national park was surprising but i figured that is due to weather or not the ground was sandy or muddy. When we got to Mildura we targeted the 2 multi's mogni wanted to do and of course they were the ones with 7 and 11 stages. After that we targeted the caches with high amount of favourite points and then left the next day via New South Wales so we could get the virtual at Lake Victoria and some of the older 2003 around the border track. A good weekend away 4x4ing.
Sir_spectre and I decided we needed to get away for a few days, so off to Murray Sunset NP and Mildura we went. Not a huge number of caches were found, but we had a great time exploring the NP. We fixed anything we could. Thanks to Washawa from mogni
A quick find with the aid of accurate coordinates and a useful hint. Bob is very cute! TFTC
We had the pleasure to meeting Bob today and he was looking mighty fine, just chillin in the breeze. A great series of caches to breakup our journey as we head to Mildura. Thanks Washawa for this fun cache. Love your work.
now we can’t stop singing I shot the Sheriff but I didn’t shoot the Deputy. Thanks Deputy Washawa tftc
Day 14 of an epic 2 week trip with the kids to the Eyre Peninsula. Home today but a few quick caches first - I was told about this trail and it did not disappoint! All were absolutely fantastic - all get a fav point! Thanks for helping us finish the trip on a caching high! Here’s to more fun and adventure!
Bob was our nosy neighbour who complained about everything many years ago so now Bob is forever a nosey Parker for us.
TFTC and greetings from Tassie and have another favourite point

Today was our second day adventuring together in the district. Out to tackle the Paddlesteamer and as many other amazing caches as we can with a lovely bunch of Canberra friends! Always fantastic to be able to get away for a long weekend of caching together. Loved the red dust and the crazy caching trails. Thanks for all the hard work from COs make and maintain these caches. Called our trip the Mildura May Adventure so signed as MMA or MMA23 today. Great to be caching with you KLSARC, GLISS! Albida33, Kittykatch, Barb2e, Joolay, Tankengine, DTY73 and youban. Thanks for a great weekend everyone. Thanks for the cache.

Found while on a fabulous weekend away to Mildura to complete the Paddlesteamer & Turtle geoarts, and various trads, multis + gadget caches. The Canberra crew included Nibletricecakes, joolay, kittykatch, youban, dty73, tankengine, barb2e, Klsarc & albida33. We signed as Mildura May Adventures 23 (MMA or MMA23). Unless otherwise mentioned, all caches were quickly found. TFTC.
Southern Autumn adventure Day 50. Mid North section of SA trip Day 21. Mount Barker 1. Today and the next two days are really transitional to me getting to Mildura in time to do the Paddle Steamer with friends from Canberra. In the meantime I had a day around Mount Barker area today. There was light rain on and off, but it was not much of a problem. I tried to find the multi's I worked out the numbers for yesterday and had a load more caches on the list that went from smoothly to very problematic. I had to skip a whole section as the only access road we being re-surfaced. It was a long and quite difficult day at times, but with that comes a sense of achievement with what was found. I finished the day with dinner in the pub in town and had a great night !
Thanks for the cache Washawa

Another funny quirky construction. I had to head back to the Geocar to grab a TOTT to extract the log. Very cute cache.
Bob was high on my list as it/he helps me complete a challenge thanks to the hide date. Loved his hair, that's just great.
Thanks Washawa
We separated from Tassie Trekkers today with Budgie, SSR and I heading along the Murray toward Mildura and surrounds today. The high river levels prevented us from getting many of our chosen caches but we still found some good ones and enjoyed the day.
It’s become a tradition to fly to a Mega via somewhere else so Stainless steel rat, budgietas and I flew from Hobart to Adelaide a week before the big event and, after a few days around the city, worked our way up along the Murray (where we could due to flooding) via Waikerie, Mildura, Swan Reach and Echuca before heading down through Shepparton to Whittlesea where we caught up, and cached with, a few other teams including Whitewebbs, 1toolman and icybeetas.
Thanks Washawa

Found this cache while out caching with Goosenegg and stainless steel rat.
We drove from South Australia, to Victoria and down the Murray river, swapping between NSW and Victoria, collecting LGA's as we drove down to Mildura
Thank you for the cache.
All caches stamped with "Team Tassie"
November 2022 was planned as a trip to the Mega in Melbourne, so we flew from Hobart to Adelaide to find quite a few caches that we had missed last time. Some great caches were found, but the planned boat trip was canceled due to the weather. No matter the showers we found quite a few caches on the trip (Around 600) including a number with high Terrian values.
The drive-through down the Murray river on the NSW / Victoria border showed the impacts of the current floods. A number of caches planned were canceled due to the flooding. Unfortunately, many of these caches will have been lost to the flood. The Mega, as per the whole week, was on and off a wet time, even so a number of caches were still found with Goosenegg, Stainless Steel Rat, Whitewebbs and Tassie Trekkers

On our way to the mega and went via SA just so we could finish off the OYB series, We did these with TT and marked our territory with a stamp that said Team Tassie, most of the caches we found in good order and those couple that weren't we fixed up as best we could with what we had to hand.
All found now well till some more come out anyway!
Another year, another Victorian Mega, so where do we fly into, Adelaide like you do, after a few days in the city we ventured out into the wilds of SA before heading Northeast towards the border (You remember the name of the town, don't you?) before crossing over we teamed up with Tassie Trekkers and we all finished off the OYB series.
Our attempts at a few caches as we moved South that were near rivers were as half expected we were thwarted by floods so we didn't get to those but added the odd on in here and there.
At long last we arrived in Whittlesea for the Mega late in the evening of Friday 11th and after a quick event headed to our accommodation for the next few days. While in the area we explored the area finding caches all over the place and we even got to meet up with our Victorian ex Tassie cacher 1Toolman who traveled up from down South to join us for the day
Thanks for the cache.

Travelling from Perth to Canberra with lots of side tracks.TFTC.
Bob didn't want to give that cache up easily. Had to go back to the car for a better tool. Finally made it. I now understand some of the rubbish there.

Full time nomads visiting Mildura to finally tackle the Paddle Steamer with iluvtrekking. Of course we have to stop in town and find some caches here before we go 'bush'. Great weather and a fun day out today.

Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure, yes I know we have wandered over the border. Never mind, it is a wonderful day and we have joined forces with FelixII so we are off to see what we can find. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.
Found while out and about in the greater Mildura area during the Tri-State Community Celebration Events and International Geocaching Day weekend. Thanks for the cache Washawa!
Talk about being spoilt for "Large" caches.
Around our part of the world they are about as rare as hen's teeth, so catnap777 and I were keen as mustard to bob down and get our names in a few of these.
TFT(Large)C Deputy Washawa.
The Generic Bit.....
Leaving for our overnight accomodation in Horsham Thursday arvo straight after work, our loopy loop trip from Tatura to the Community Celebration Event in Mildura had begun. We took the long way.
Cat' and I were chasing a few older caches and a few large ones, but mostly caches in different counties and road map pages for challenges, so we travelled as far West as Bordertown before taking a right and travelling through Pinnaroo and Loxton to get there. Before hitting Mildura though, we made time to tickle the tip of Victoria for it's Northern most cache before taking on the Border Track then on to the event in Mildura and down towards Ouyen before heading for home next morning via SwanHill in time for work Sunday arvo.

Found and signed with dalerious as we were staying in a motel up the road and felt like some night caching before we headed back home tomorrow . This little set of Deputy Washawa caches were a treat . Loved the novel containers. Thanks for the fun on a beautiful winters night.
The Trip
We talked about planning this odyssey months ago, but put the finishing touches to the plan in the last couple of weeks.
We were hoping to undertake two challenges. One was to log a cache in as many counties in Victoria, South Australia and New South Wales as we possibly could, as well as logging caches that were placed on the pages of the UBD Victorian Road Atlas as well.
dalerious got to work strategically picking caches that we needed. No easy task, but he is so adept at it. I get the car and supplies ready, and drive.
We had only 2 full days to do all this in, as well as an event to attend to in Mildura.
Quite an ask, but yet again dalerious and I not only marked of all the caches we had on our list, but we were lucky enough to add more.
We had an awesome time away travelling around hop, skipping and jumping from one state to the next. With the exception of hitting one Kangaroo, no damage to the Hilux or us thank goodness, I loved driving around this beautiful area.
Next big trip Tasmania........ Bring it on!
