Final few hours in Mt Beauty before heading back to Melbourne and last chance for a MTB ride around these great (and deserted) tracks. Left around 4pm giving myself 2 hrs before dark to get around a circuit, scoop up some last and more remote caches, as well as get some miles into my legs and hopefully some great trails. Was probably a bit ambitious in the distance and time before darkness but just about managed it. Retraced some of my footsteps from yesterday's walk/caching, which helped move me along a bit quicker but then straight up the Cattle Track which got the heart pounding!! Had a few struggles with this cache, a couple of large obvious logs too my attention, before is spotted another and there it was, Moo and all. TFTC.

After crawling around one hidden log and finding nothing we moved on and soon found the right one.

Cold today

Nice cow in the log. Took TB.

Out for a few laps of Big Hill on the MTB. I've left my non caching friends to do laps on their own and have the day free to ride my own trails. Of course that means the ones with geocaches.

After a very cold start I soon warmed up riding up the fire trails to this one. Now the ride back down.

Please excuse generic log. We left Wodonga for Mt Beauty in morning thinking it is going to be another terribly wet day just like it was for us 2 days ago here. I must admit though that we are more often luckier than not weatherwise when it comes to caching. Stop the car engine and the rain stops. Vice versa, rain when we head off again. Actually, the day saw some real heat poke through between the rainclouds making the day even more enjoyable. As enjoyable as finding our total of 9 today. Apart from 1 cache (CO notified) all others in good condition and we sincerely thank all CO's for placement and maintenance of caches. YES ! Beautiful Mt Beauty.
