Logs
**21,849**Collecting up a few caches sprinkled around the area that we have missed on previous visits. This was one of them. Mr Geckoh did enjoy the tree bridge saving quite a walk around to the cache. Easy enough find at GZ after reading a previous cachers log. TFTC
It's ANZAC weekend so after attending our local service in Maungatapere I headed off to Auckland for a few days geocaching. I had a great day today exploring the Orewa area. Lots of places I'd never been to. The weather was a bit on and off but nice for this walk. O parked in Bankside Drive and wandered over. Nobody else was on this part of the walkway today so I was able to duck off the track and make a fairly quick find once I located the right post. Managed to avoid getting any close interactions with Barb. Thanks for the hide
Had 2 goes at finding this one. Needed a hint to find it the 2nd time. Watch out for the barbed wire which i managed to tangle myself up in. [TFTC]
Lots of barb wire here so I said to Di Ill go in, you stay out here . Post office has been dismantled. This is near where I want to place a cache , will email you when ready Found the cache and crawled my way out of the bushes to find Di chilling Tftc
Hmm two pairs of eyes looking but we couldn't find it. Have to come back another day
I came to New Zealand with my wife on honeymoon
It is hard to log all the caches, I found here in New Zealand, so excuse my mass log for caches around Orewa, please
At first i started with caches around Estuary Cycleway, then to Red Beach, Hatfield´s Beach, Millwater and Silverdale. Some of the caches are now disabled as i can see, and some of them were disabled, but were on place.
After consulting with owner I made maintanance on some of disabled and missing caches.
I found many really nice caches...it was awesome, but i think, that some of them (for example Bison caches) have too low D/T combos...but owners are really helpful, so I managed to find each of them. I usually borrowed bike from my brother in law and then in the early morning, or in evening went geocaching. I really liked that routine. So I´m really thankful for all the caches on/near Estuary
I need to write here, that I really like nature in NZ...its a big difference between Europe :/
So – TFTC, guys, and especially The Wonder Stuff for placing and G-2 for placing and hints...and sry for mistakes in my poor English...have a nice day(s) there and u should come to find some caches here in Slovak Republic

Found my Liam (Age 7). He says that it was easy to find and enjoyed looking for it. TFTC.
This one CRACKED us up. We were out on our bikes and just as were rehiring the cache the heavens opened and we got caught in the downpour. By the time we got home the sun was shining but we were literally dripping. Thanks for the fun times.
Last cache picked-up on my 24 km bike "Tour de Oreeewa". I was actually heading off to BP petrol station and realized too many recent DNFs so decided to pick-up this one only.
As I was familiar with GZ (I remember previous hide here) I knew it what actually spot is not the obvious one of course. But still it took a little moment to find it! Well hidden!

This one took me longer than it should have. I enjoyed the hunt though even though I headed down the bank through cobwebs to be met by many fantails happily singing.
I thought this was a trail of 6 caches, but I found out I was wrong as I approached this one. Slid down the bank and walked through the squelchy mangroves before finally arriving on the right side of the river and being greeted by a cheeky Piwakaka (See photo). Squandered on up the bank where I first searched for the cache where the previous person did, before expanding my search area and finding the cache which matches the title really nicely! TFTC G-2!
A beautiful, sunny day enticed me to head outside on a caching trip where I ended up walking around Orewa, Millwater and Silverdale for 8 hours between 11:30am and 7:30pm! In total I made 40 finds including 30 traditional's and 10 AL's... Thanks very much to all CO's who placed caches around this lovely area!

I came unstuck here. Arrived at GZ, saw a blue marker ribbon and soon after what looked like a rodent poison station on the ground and markers on a tree. Checked all around this area and could not see a post office anywhere. So unless it was the rodent station which I did not check that carefully then I am not sure where it is hidden.
Had some time before dropping GeohoundandI at work so we brought the geohound for a walk. A nice easy find, I posted the pill bottle back where I found it, but after removing all of that yucky stuff I might need a pill or two myself.
I was worried that I would have a long search, but then I heard myself say, "Hey, this one is in the exact same place as the last one." TFTC.
Glad I persevered with this path as I got both of the ones I thought I'd miss out on. Nice and easy here thanks G
Onto the main business of the day, the largest of two loops which encompassed all the caches I never completed last time I was in the area. The rain and drizzle was steady for most of it and only really came to any real effect when I was at the point furthest from the car, of course!!
Another weekend day with mrs c out of town and just some modest local-ish goals to achieve. I had intended to do most of my outstanding Millwater/Orewa caches but a persistent drizzle and then a proper spell of rain meant that it was just Millwater. The afternoon was all about collected a TB that had been located amongst a swag-haul dumped in a park near Manakau City, facilitated by a UK cacher on FB. Quite the mission but I rescued the TB and declined the accompanying swag (stolen goods probably)

Enjoyed the walk to gz and although I don't recall the original one here I must of found it as it is pretty close to home. TFTC
Out and about for a spot of cache detection today. A nice warm spring day for it. I parked up and followed the trail along to GZ. I remember finding the previous iteration at GZ. Anyway, initially searched the wrong spot before making a quick find at the correct GZ. This is a pleasant little walk by the pond and the tall trees. Cheers for the cache placement!
Love the rustic , Rural, post office here!
Quick find....a week after the ftfers.

Our 4th {FTF} of the morning with Jag50. I remember visiting this area previously, looks like a nice new wide path now so easy access to gz and a quick find of the snail mail
We have visited this location to find a cache previously, so knew the best way to access gz. The paths are new since our last visit and lead us directly to find this cache in one of the first places we looked. Joint {FTF} with Merlot58
