Very sad to archive this cache, but there are brand new gates and a padlock at the site, which has always been open access. Thanks to TheMoules for alerting me. I checked out the situation today and it definitely no longer accessible to the public.

We came to locked gates this visit. Might have to try from another angle next visit. Thanks

After completing our target caches in the On Your Bike series, we returned to Loxton to look for a few caches before heading to Renmark. This was one of the caches in Loxton.

Accurate coordinates led to a quick find of a well designed and placed cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. It earns a favourite from us. Thanks crane2 for the cache.

I’m sure at one time, not so long ago, these sales yards were a hive of activity.
While looking for this cache my imagination drifted back to my childhood and I could hear and smell the stock in the sale yards . Happy thoughts

After an adventurous weekend with Peas&CarrotsForever, travelling to two other states in a day for a couple of special events, it’s time to head home.

Day six of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
A nice day, so we unloaded the deadly treadlies and rode around Loxton to some mixed results.
That is a sizable hill out off the river flats to the town.

I bet the houses that lived next to the entrance road were please when the yards closed though!
It was certainly a contrast to a town cache - no muggles here to be seen!
Nice hide that BB found.
Thanks, Robmc.

#18954. Day 6 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. With the day dawning bright and sunny as we had hoped we continued with our plan for this to be a full riding day around town with the doggies in tow. Mind you the wind was bitterly cold most of the day. Some history and some great views along the river. Apart from the smilies and the AdLab we had a couple of DNFs and a couple unattempted.

Nice to see some neatly laid cobblestones still in place and were there peppercorn trees too? That is usually a giveaway for saleyards. A very nice hide here, found quickly to my surprise.

Thanks crane2

Today we made our way to Loxton for a few nights camping over Easter in the river land, with a late start to the day we didn’t stop by many caches.

Due to the weekend weather forecast for high winds, I had to cancel my planned kayaking trip at the Corong.

At short notice I decided to head to Loxton instead.
The wind was blowing for most of the weekend but thankfully the mild temperatures made for a good haul of finds in and around Loxton.

Well crafted hide worthy of a favourite point.

A short day for us today but we did cover a load of miles, we nearly ended up back in Victoria. We rectified a DNF from a few years ago, and added 2 DNF's so two blue faces to replace the one we managed to change into a smily face.
More heat, flies and dust and roads that we have not traveled before showing us more of this great brown land that we live in, but we did enjoy our day overall. It really hits you in the face making you realise how hard life was for our pioneers.

Adelaide and South Australia Trip Christmas 2021/2022. Day 15. The next phase of my journey is underway. I am in Loxton. I was with Fitzy_1965, MinnieK, Sol de Lune and Smitten Granny to attempt to finish the On You Bike where-i-go caches. We have managed to solve them all before we arrived. Day 5 in the River land. As we had accomplished the On your Bike caches, the others headed back east to stop at Mildura for the paddle steamer caches, but I am based in Adelaide at the moment, so could not go. I spent the day finishing caches around Loxton and then heading a little further away from town before hiding under the shady tree at camp for the afternoon.

This trip to Loxton had been a year coming as I had missed out last year due to other commitments. The group had increased and the target list of caches was much higher. It had been a group effort to deal with all the jigsaw puzzles and then the Reverse Where-i-gos were sorted out with the various online tools. The trip was looking at risk as the COVID situation stretched and stretched, but at least SA kept to its plans to open the borders and we all jumped through the hoops required to get across the border. The weather was looking extreme as the journey approached and it did not disappoint. The daytime temps were from 36-42 over the days of this exercise and it made for some hard work and lots of water usage.

Thanks for the cache crane2

Day 5: SA/Vic Christmas holiday trip

Last Christmas holidays, fitzy_1965 and I (along with two geo-kids, Death Killer & my_name_jeff_1) headed to SA to visit family whilst we could, and to collect as many counties and caches as possible along the way. We decided even before getting home that we needed to go back. The added incentive of more On You Bike series sealed the deal. Fast forward through 2021 (because who wants to remember that), and here we are again. This time with extra company in the form of Sol de lune, Smittengranny and albida33.

At the start of today, we collected some caches around Loxton before venturing a little further afield for the Around the World series and solved puzzles in the area. This was exhausting in the heat of the day and the dust of the roads, but we made all the finds we went looking for. At the end of the day, we made the decision to pack up a day early and head back across the border to do the Paddle Steamer…..and to air conditioned accommodation instead of continuing to camp in tents!

All caches were signed as FAMSS and were found quickly and easily unless otherwise mentioned.

31-Dec-21
The decision was made to joined in the South Australia tour to hit up the On Ya Bike series with fitzy_1965, Minniek, Smittengranny and Albida33 (who had driven up from his Christmas visit to Adelaide). After getting across the SA border with only a stop for one of us to be (re) tested, we headed to our camping area at Loxton and set up camp.

Day 4 on the series trail dawned and once we had finished those On Ya Bike caches in this area we set about cleaning up a few other caches. The OTD August series was the first to be hit as the lure of 31 large caches was too much to ignore. While some of the caches have obviously been replaced, it was good to see the majority are still the original container. Of course, while grabbing that series of caches, we also passed many others that we stopped for, including a few back in Loxton All caches were found without issue, apart from the 41 degree temp we encounted, and all were signed as FAMSS for fitzy_1965, Albida33, Minniek, Smittengranny and Sol de Lune.

Thanks to all the CO’s of the caches in this area and of course thanks for adding to the fun of our 7 adventure/road trip. SmileSmileSmileSmile

31-Dec-21
After Sol de Lune , Albida33 and I had completed #1 to #100 of the On Your Bike series, we met up again with Minniek and Fitzy_65 to spend the afternoon finding multiple caches in this area including this one. Each cache was signed FAMSS. Thanks to all COs for the placement and maintenance of these caches that contributed to the success of our trip across the state borders during our Christmas New Year break.

31-Dec-21
26,179. Found with minniek, Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 during our post Christmas / New Year trip over to South Australia and Victoria to tackle the On Your Bike and Paddle Steamer series among many other caches.

Today we started by finding some caches around Loxton, then went for the Around The World series and some more solved puzzles. All caches were a nice quick find - sometimes using the appropriate TOTT - unless otherwise stated. Signed as FAMSS. This was another long hot day.

When minniek and I were in South Australia in January this year (2021) doing the On Your Bike series of (then) 100 Wherigo caches, we were talking to the CO who mentioned that a whole lot more were soon to be published, and they were - 512 more ! So once back home we set about solving all those new ones which was at least something to do during 'stay at home' orders effecting us. Then once they were all solved we planned a trip over to grab them. Then just to add to the fun the latest 152 were published just in time for us to spend time solving them all so we could get the whole set. With our caching friends Sol de Lune, Smittengranny and albida33 this series was our main aim, but with the 'Around the World in 81 caches' series, various solved puzzles and the Paddle Steamer as standby if we got the time.

We managed some BIG days caching and finished off the On Your Bike series in three days, then attempted the mammoth 'Around the World in 81 caches' series and some lovely high/rare D/T caches - all in searing summer heat peaking at over 40 degrees ! Once they were finally completed we headed over to the Mildura region for another two blistering hot days doing the Paddle Steamer series. After camping for five nights we finally relented and got hotel rooms for the last two nights and worked the air conditioning to the bone.

All in all an amazingly fun time was had, and we have all made room in our calendars for when the next part of the On Your Bike series is published - no pressure ! Highlights included many of the fun tree climbs, the pole caches which increased our skills at the recovery and replacements of those styled caches, and the relaxed times and banter around the camp site at the end of each tiring day - including New Years Eve !

Thanks to all the COs for contributing their caches to our fun times, and I must apologise for the generic logs as we did find well over one thousand caches which now require logging !

Hopped on a bike with a frog today.
Mr Froghoppin and I took off to the east in search of a few caches. [^]
Having done much homework putting the pieces together in many cases and working out wheretogo,
even which side of the road to go, a smooth day was had with many fun finds. [:o)]
We were doing some of that loooonnnggg bike trail, so this was a refreshing change!
A lot of the trail caches only had a handful of stamps/sigs on the log sheets, not even a beta to be seen on the back! Refreshing on such a trail Wink

But again this was a nice change from the trail. Spotted in the first place we looked, although there were sooo many great hiding spots here to choose from ! A creative cache hide, and not a mint tin, so gets a fav from me!!! Big Grin

We did feel sorry for a few of the trees again, getting damaged by climbing when there's so many great hide spots at ground level. Twisted and a couple of the T1 cache hides were quite a challenge by wheelchair Razz

Overall we had a great day shortening the length of this trail left to return to.

Sure wouldn't want to do it by bike though.
have biked the riverland and fleurieu in my youth, but just down to the shops is exhausting these days Surprised

Made a diversion into Loxton for some relief from the power trail, and find some different caches too.

Thank you to crane2 for placing and arranging maintaining this cache Cool

A plan was hatched with Rapidlywild to attack some of the caching trails down in VIC/SA. With the boarders slowly staying open we thought Easter might be a safe time to try since the QLD boarder was still too fragile to attempt going to the MEGA and it also looked like it could be rather wet there.
Our team “The Mob” consisted of GoodLook, LíB, Rapidlywild, The Drovers, feathertop and ourselves. This team ended up being very productive and some new friendships were made. Always a bonus in my book. All logs were stamped with “The Mob” to save space and time.
After completing all the trails, we had set out to do and a couple more for good measure it was time for this mob to go its separate ways.

It was now time to head home after doing numerous trails while in the area a great caching adventure. We decided to pick up ones around Loxton before leaving.

Cool little hide here. But sort of stuck out.

Thanks for the hide crane2 and for the fun Rapidlywild

For the first time in a long time, it was road trip time. With COVID-19 keeping everyone at home for so long, the borders were finally opening and the feet were itchy for a decent caching trip. Plans were made with FurfacesLL to do a 10 day road trip across to Mildura and Loxton to do a heap of caching and we were excited. Across the 10 days we racked up over 4,300km in driving, multiple hotels/motels, brought home enough red dust to create our own sand pit in the back yard and collected over 1800 finds between us. It was a massive trip and lots of fun was had.

We teamed up with GoodLook, FeatherTop, The Drovers and LiB and signed most logs as "The Mob". There were a few caches which were signed as individual team names as some teams had already completed said caches, those will be noted individually.

Our target caches were the Turtle Series, the Paddle Steamer Series and the On Ya Bike wherigo Series, heaps of other caches were also collected along the way but our primary target caches were completed which made us all very happy and very tired geocachers.

With the Turtle done, the PS Series done, the On Ya Bike done, the TdU & TdF done as well as the Riddlers done, our targeted caches has been accomplished. With the teams now split and it was back to FurfacesLL and myself, we had heaps to choose from. Today was cleaning up around Loxton and making our way over to Mildura for the night, before making our way back towards Wagga tomorrow.

A nice quick find here, now onto the next find for the day. Cool

Thanks for the hides crane2 Big Grin And thanks FurfacesLL for a trip to remember [^].

A nice stop on our journey across the country from Adelaide to Brisbane with Davidwazza! TFTC!

08-Feb-21
Moving from Adelaide to Brisbane, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I decided to drive the long distance to make the opportunity a holiday, taking 12 days and passing through Victoria, New South Wales, and then finally arriving in Queensland. We spent the first few days in SA's Riverland, visiting Morgan, Berri and Renmark; and then drove through Mildura in Victoria. In NSW, we stopped at Hay, Parkes, Merriwa, Tamworth, Port Macquarie, and Coffs Harbour, and then entered Qld to stop for a night in Robina in the Gold Coast.

Today, [@jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and I travelled around the Murray Riverlands, visiting Loxton, Paringa, and Renmark. We started the day from Berri, travelling south and finding a few miscellaneous geocaches. Once at Loxton, we completed the *Historical Loxton* Adventure Lab, found a few geocaches along the river, and then had lunch in town. We then drove towards Paringa, and took a walk around Murtho and Headings Cliffs. We then proceeded back through Renmark, and finished off our evening with a walk at Wilabalangaloo and completing the Berri *A River Contemplation* Adventure Lab.

We drove out to the other side of town to make a stop here at these saleyards. We spent a few minutes searching around, until the good cache hide was found. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Some great cache construction exhibited here too! Thanks crane2 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.
Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/jesswrigley stamp.
