This was a great outing today, enjoying Te Rau Puriri Park, and that was the first cache of the day. We sent the littlest team member after this one as you needed to crawl under the T tree branches. TFTC
I was racing along the track to catch up with our tramping club group but made time to get this cache. Tftc
In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health, luckily for water proof paper....TFTC.
Out on a fitness walk getting ready for a much longer one later this year. Lovely day here today walking in the sunshine. Found after we widened our search. Thanks capperz.
Could not come to the south head about floodiing and herre I must gave up about fallen trees.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot.
not quite where the navigation was showing but used the gate to walk around and then we found! TFTC
Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
Tried one hint item then checked the gps and realised it was pointing a little further away. Quick find after that. TFTC

I think this is the second in this series of cachs I've found the other being in Hobsonville.
Thanks for placing these cachs.
Hope your family in the UK are all keeping well

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Nice warm but overcast day to walk the park. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Third one near the start of our walk today and a nice quick find where expected. After negotiating the bugs, was able to sign the log and then replace as found. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
We couldn't resist a few quick grabs on the roadside on the way to and from the park to add to the tally. This cache was our third one in the park as we headed off clockwise around the loopwalk. Another quick find once on the right side of the fence.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

You don’t need long arms if you come at this geo cache from a slightly different angle. I loved the ‘bug collection’ of trinkets inside. Left them all there.
NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
As we wandered towards GZ we noticed a hedgehog - awww, I have heard that if they are out in the open they may need help but didn't want to touch it just in case. We avoided it and luckily with his long arms, Mr NZT soon had it in hand.
Thanks for the cache.

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
Long arms helped with the retrieval of this cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "the fence" I got back on the trail and headed for this GZ. A short dash up to GZ, from the track, and the hide was found in the first place I checked. Right, off to the next one. Cheers for the cache placement!
Find number 2 in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
I like the idea of this series (although this is the only one of the 13 I've found so far), and also the container. English Marmite is a source of much argument in my family, as my British dad loves it and can't stand the kiwi version, whereas my NZ-born mum is the exact opposite and can't stand the smell of the English stuff. Regardless, it makes a good geocache container, and it was an easy find here as per the hint. TFTC capperz

With the announcement that Level 3 could include exercise away from our house (and naturally the area around our house is either cleaned out or carpeted in my own caches) we decided a fun activity would be geocaching and this was confirmed when the reviewers said that caching was A-OK.
A grandparent 13 times! Wow!
Nice easy find here - great to come to this beautiful park - we had a great day. Thanks for the cache - all good here.

Congrats on your impression number of grandchildren. Nice find as Mr P and I made our way around the park. T4tc
Decided to visit this regional park for our walk today and collect some caches.Found this cache quickly.Recognised the jar which started us off on the Love it or hate it conversation.
We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches.
We found an easy access to this cache, and soon after had the cache in hand.

I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! TFTC!
The family tried to make this harder than it should be, so I followed the geotrail straight to it. GeohoundandI thought I'd climbed over the fence until I pointed out the open gate.
Good to see some proper Marmite jars, only now I have a yearning for Marmite and Heinz Baked Beans on toast.

We took the hounds round here while we could, which has to be by June and the start of the lambing season. Tftc
I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. They had already found this cache so watched while I made the find.
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
I had some really nice weather today to hike the big loop around the park. I've never been to this regional park before and enjoyed it tremendously today.
Adorable grandson and adorable cache. TFTC.

I think that is the last Brace or Race we need to feel under today!
Phew.....time to head home....

Found it during enjoyable trip to South Head in Auckland Region after attending
Geocaching Mini Quiz in Auckland Domain early this morning.
It is time to get my car dusty and also thanks for great reason to visit this area again.
I had to be quick around GZ as very large bull was watching me and he was not peaceful!
Uff! Made my way to the gate safely!

After reaching the end of the line it was time to make my way back home, I didn't even know this regional park existed and it is lovely place to come to. Congrats on your beautiful grandchildren and Tommy is a real cutie. TFTC
Quick find of Tommy but forgot there was another cache down another couple of hundred meters- remembered when I got back to the car. Too tired and aching to go back... another time I guess. Nice area. [FTF] TFTC!!!
