Just passing through Westport for a day after hiking the wonderful and delightful Heaphy Track. Goodness, Westport has far more geocaches than Id expected. TFTC!The inquisitive four legged locals were very curious and tried to help sign the cache
A nice quick find. On my bike for a pre dinner ride. Nice. Note some of the logs are full and are in need of replacement. Thanks for placing your cache. It has been a while since we got back from Europe, and it is time for us to see more of Home. Ms_KR and I are off to the West Coast for a wee break, and some caching. Today cruised around the area picking up plastic boxes!Occaisionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Walking the Kawatiri Coastal and Heritage Trail — Section 1 Puwaha — Westport to Carters Beach collecting caches along the way; TFTC
A bit further toward town than i expected nut a good place to stop and learn of the history. TFTC
Back on the west coast and calling westport home for the next wee while having picked up work in the area. So time to turn all that green , yellow..
Another one ticked off along the trail..tftc

AliGle and I were traveling around the middle and upper South Island, with the main focus being the completion of the PWGT3 and PWGT4 GeoTours, but we found a few other caches along the way. As there was a PWGT cache on this trail, we decided we'd explore a bit more of it and find some more of the caches along the way. A nice easy find here, TFTC!
Had to be patient waiting for the muggles to pass. Signed log book with Aligle and Vistra.
Heading on a wee family summers holiday.
Reefton done, now time for a few nights in Carters Beach.
Came out for a mornings Bike ride with MrsTG before our planned adventure up to Denniston. Finding every 2nd one in the Westport direction, returning will find the skipped ones...

A peaceful mid-morning stroll, the only muggles we’re 4-legged boys who looked keen to play.
Thanks for this cache, weenz.

Finally time for our last PW Pilgrimage to the mighty west coast! A trip initially timed with the Wild Foods Festival. Justlooking00 and I are finally here. Day 3 is the turn south again from Westport to Blackball via HW7. After two days of rain and weather warnings we have sunshine. Interesting information along this trail, thank you. Re-hid cache a bit better as it was exposed.
We came to Westport area for the long weekend with the hope of finding all the caches along this trail and a few more. We woke to such a calm sunny morning it was just stunning. The further we got along this trail the windier it got - and the wind just kept increasing - I wish I had taken a hat with me. Really enjoying the track, what an asset for Westport.
This was a nice quick find as per the hint - there were a few muggles around this morning so we wanted to be as quick as we could at each stop.
Thanks for placing this cache and thank you for the smiley

Enjoyed the walk quick search around and it wasn't long before we spotted the cache Thank you for the cache
All of the information boards make for some interesting reading. Great when they're near a cache, you can kill two birds with one stone!
Thanks for setting this up

We stayed last night in Westport, and today are travelling along the coast to Greymouth. But before we leave Westport we wanted to pick up the PWGT cache along the Puwaha Trail, and of course find the other 4 Trads along the way. Interesting to read the signboard about the Martin family, and a quick find of the cache here, thanks.
No luck for us here. We found a pile of rocks but no cache - maybe it got washed away in the floods
A fast walk to the PWGT but managed to stop to find this one. TFTC weenz.
Day 12 of the Loopppiiieee Tour (top to bottom, east to west). We are targeting the TWGTs for GraciesGPSfun; as well as the PWGT, CANZ, D/T and some oldie caches for us all, as well as driving many kilometres AND, just as important, seeing the sights of the South Island and having a lot of fun.

An early morning bike ride enjoying the local trail, some good scenery, and grabbing a few caches. TFTC
Up in CHCH for work and have a few days off so a good chance to get on the road and do the top part of the south islands PWGT caches and to grab a few others along the way. This was an easy park and grab so had to get it. TFTC
Quick Easy Find. TFTC
Taybeedragon, Zara, Toby and and I are off for a few days catching up with PWGTs on the West Coast. Zara had a slow start and needed a jump start to get us on the road Thursday evening. Camped out just past Murchison Thursday Night. Lots of driving missing most of the rain on Saturday. Visited Shanty Town, Punakaiki and Denniston before returning home on Sunday. Lots of driving with all target caches bagged. A great trip with taybeedragon. Now to plan our next adventure.
Sorry for logging late these were found on the weekend of 16 sep to 19 sep 2021.

Today my plan is to cache around the Westport area. Weather not that great but I've got my raincoat so it OK - not too cold anyway. My last walk for today. I parked at the bridge end of the trail and walked along as far as the culvert cache and back. Interesting information here. All good with the cache as well. TFTC, Biggles.
#10,124. Day 4 of the geocaching road trip. Infoferret and I flew down from Wellington on Wednesday and have spent a couple of nights in Greymouth. But its time to leave now and head to our next lodgings in Westport. We have geotour caches to find, some adventure labs and a lot of solved puzzles on the way. Will pick up any traditional caches if we have time. The weather is still holding out and its another fine, warm, sunny spring day.
I found this new track much more to my liking than Denniston. Sure there is developed dairy farmland close by but the river views are great and the small copses of native bush had a lot of wildlife present. We started this track at dusk after stopping in Westport for dinner. Plan was to walk down and grab the geotour cache then pick these up on the return. Hmm I might need to bring a whip next time I cache with Infoferret. Once more she couldn't stop herself from finding this one. So much for grabbing them on the trip back. Replaced the cache where found. Thanks weenz for hiding the cache here.

On a trip with Ruru_NZ to gather the tour caches needed or in my case not done yet. Should be able to knock them off on this trip.
Day 8 - Labour weekend extended road trip with Kiwicampnut - relocated to stay south of the ditch.
I wonder why anyone would choose an island to farm.
Tucked away a little better than when I found it.
Thanks for the cache weenz

Great info board here about the Martins. Now to find this one and leave our calling card. Cheers

Quick find today as we walk a small part of this trail to find the geotour cache further down. Heading through to Nelson today. Lucky the rain held off for us as we wandered along learning more history . Thinking it would be a good bike ride.

On a PWGT expedition to the South Island with Gorby, RustyNZ, Rebel98 and boneybruce. TFTC!!!
We flew down from Auckland to Nelson for another session upon the PWGT caches and other caches that appeal. This is our last trip for the series and will complete it in the 4 days we have allowed ourselves. On this trip there is myself, rustynz, FMZ, Rebel98 and Bony-Bruce (FMZ’s mascot) starting in Nelson and heading north as far as Abel Tasman and then way south of Fox Glacier. 1500km of driving in our trusty rental.
Last day today for our adventure. Rusty decided we needed more caches....lol! It's freezing cold, it's blowing a gale and for the umpteenth time it's raining. For me I'd rather be back in the warm car.

With a group of Westies (rustynz, rebel98, gorby, FMZ and boney bruce) on a caching adventure in the South Island
On our way back to the car after walking to the PWGT cache, so are now collecting the nearby trads!
This one had me fooled, but I was not alone as there seemed a bit of a geo trail down to the cabbage tree, which the cache is NOT hidden at LOL
Backtracked, and FMZ called out he had found it, music to my ears and the log was soon being signed.
Another fun find, thanks weenz for bringing us here

We drove in for an afternoons caching on our bikes. Parked up at the playground and rode towards the Cape to begin with.
Now off to the bridge and back.
Thinking more about turning back than reading info signs now. We still have to get to Denniston today. TFTC

Caching with Sidewaze. Apologies for the late log - working at catching up. I enjoyed finding your cache. TFTC
Very interesting information. There would be lots of farms in New Zealand that have been in the same family for generations. Farming methods have changed somewhat in that time though. The log was a little wet but we managed to sign it. TFTC
We, Miss 8, Miss 9 and I, walked from the Westport end out to Carters Beach. What an awesome trail. Highlights were the information boards the friendly people and hearing a Fernbird. We also saw an enormous rat so hopefully some trapping occurs along the trail. Quick easy find at this spot.
Nice quick find today. On my way collecting pwgt caches.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these caches. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.
While on the geotour cache hunt I was able to also grab the odd cache here and there, this was one of them.
thanks for the placement - cache is all in good order

3km Walk today with Blake (2) Quinn (5) and Docndi. Left a car at one end and drove to othe end of the track. Caches were easy enough for the kids who loved finding these. Awesome little walkway. Tftc
It was good to read about the Martins on the information board. They must have been well respected. Thanks for the cache weenz
These signs are full of interesting information and I especially like the photos and images. The track is getting a lot of use judging by the numbers of people biking it this morning. TFTC # 16,685
Continuing on our PWGT journey visiting the top of the Mainland this weekend. Quick find while completing the trail TFTC.
Nice walk.doing the GeoTour and my phone would not show any other caches. Grrr. Finally fixed it to grab some walking back.
On a visit to the West Coast we came to Westport specifically when we heard a section of this trail had been opened. And we weren’t disappointed. Its and easy, scenic and enjoyable ride and we look forward to visit again as further sections are finished. TFTC
Enjoyed the stroll along the river. A fleeting visit this time as I’m doing a loop to Westport and back to Greymouth to get the geotour caches. Had to double back a little as I was a bit overconfident from the last cache! Got it with no issues though. Tftc
Great walk from Carter’s beach to Westport with the family on a sunny day. TFTC.
Over time we watched our sea of yellow in and around Westport slowly being interspersed with green. So a plan was hatched to spend a few days and remedy the situation and even taking the opportunity by leaving some similar offerings. Being walkers we decided to warm up along the rock wall at the golf course before sampling Puwaha, the first section of the Kawatiri Coastal and Heritage Trail. After we found a nice shady spot for the car we set off from the Carter's Beach end in pursuit of a variety caches. It soon proved that no expense had been spared to create a fantastic trail that makes the most of the unique landscape using bridges, boardwalks and a wide and well constructed pathway. Well used by walkers, runners and cyclists we still found enough time to find caches and complete the formalities without being muggled. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience we will recommend to anybody willing to listen. After finishing our walk there were still a few caches left which we found while exploring town and country in the coming days. Thank you weenz for a wonderful experience.
