No luck for us here today...the grass was up to our knees, and many of the trees here have come down with the storms in 2023, so this location is not what it once was......
Couldnt lay my hands on this today, but still had a good time. It looks like it may well have fallen over as one of the previous logs noted, so Ive left it be.Cheers!
Tree is no longer standing. Could have been the cyclone. Cache is still there - a bit exposed now.
Tree seems to have vanished, just a tiny stump remains so cache was slightly exposed but otherwise in reasonable condition. Cammo has served it well. GPS was pointing the other side of the track so not sure if it was where it's meant to be but a find nonetheless
A good hard slog up the hill in the rain, a easy find once I had the right tree.
Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
One of the hardest finds on the circuit. So many Tea Tree, and quite a few that could be described as crooked. TFTC

Found it on my 10th tree.
All is safe and dry.
Thanks for the collaboration tramyard and _Pex_.

Overshot tge mark but a turn around meant i quickly spotted it. Nice in the shade. TFTC
Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Once we got our breath back from climbing the hill we soon had the cache located. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Eleventh one on our walk today and soon located in hint location. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
Not a very crooked base compared to some crooked trees we see in Northland. Nice bit of shade here on this hot walk. Quick find.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
WHICH Crooked tree.... oh THAT ONE! darn!

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
We overshot this one a little and looked at the wrong crooked tree initially before correcting ourselves and finding the cache soon after.
Thanks for the cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "the fletchers" I continued along the orange trail to find this one. I had heard the sound of peacocks calling while walking around the park, but here I got to see one. As I approached GZ a male (based on the blue feathers) peacock jumped up onto the gate near GZ. It quickly spotted me and raced up the hill into the brush. At GZ my GPSr was pointing down the hill into the scrub, which I figured was wrong. The hint set me right and made for a super quick find here. Cheers for the cache placement!
Find number 9 in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
As the CO knows... this cache gave me much more trouble than it should have. First of all I wasn't sure which one was a tea tree (all of them), and then I wasn't sure which tree was the one with the cache in it. Turned out I was looking too far along and needed a helpful nudge in the right direction. Thanks for the cache!

A bit of a puff up the hill so an excuse to stop and look for a cache was perfect. Quick find by Mr P and then off we go again. T4tc
Glad to make quick work of this find as something didn’t smell too good in this area.So did what was needed and continued on our way.
We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches.
Another quick find here with the hint and coords before continuing around the park.

I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! Thanks for setting up all these caches!
I picked some other crooked trees first before retracing my steps and finding the cache, all good thanks T.
Time to hit the trail and looking forward to the caches from the placers here; Tramouflage galore and Pax of bisons roaming the plains.
Another weekend day and I have a plan to go and find some caches out at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park up the top of South Head (North of South Head then!). I originally put down a couple of new ones in this empty (of caches, at the time) park and Tramyard and Pax duly obliged to fill in some of the walking tracks with caches, which also had good views and interesting things to see. I was fairly early off from home and arrived at the trail start at 0900, arrived back at 1145-ish so under 3 hours for the loop, including finds. I'm pretty sure there's room for some more up there as the Red route has scope, as does the pale blue one. The weather was a little blustery and a bit cooler than recent but still a good day 5o be out there doing it.

I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. This one didn't take too long to find
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
In my usually poor style, I zipped right over this over this one at first blush, but returned after eliminating all the other possibilities. TFTC.
A nice shady spot to rest after a climb to find the cache.
A couple of muggles passed by on horses.

Another nice shady spot to have a rest from the sun and to let the legs and lungs recover from the hike up the hill. Loving all the caches so far. TFTC
Tramyard asked me if I wanted to come along to place some caches in this Regional Park which what quite empty.... I had nothing to do, so grabbed my cache containers, logs and stuff and was ready to place some more caches in NZ.
Maybe we get some more people here to this nice park.
There's a lot of trees here...
