Squeezed past the bigger fence to reach this post. Cache was dry but the lid is completely gone having rusted away. TFTC
In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health, luckily for water proof paper....TFTC.
Important note for the time being - after noticing a smell, I came across a sheep that had died beneath the manuka. It’s far enough off the path to not be an issue, but be aware.
I’m recovering from a hand injury so was unable to get this one open, but here’s a photo instead.

Bit of a side detour off the track to GZ, saw the concrete post thought about jumping the fence but naw I can squeeze through there .
Quick found it.
Log is safe and dry.
The hinge for the lid is almost on its last swing.
Thanks tram yard/ _pex_

Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
I'm hoping that the other side of the fence here is still part of the park, as there was no way I could reach the cache without climbing over the fence. TFTC

Heading back inland & still nobody around. Wandered over to GZ & made nice quick find. TFTC
Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. A little cross country from the track to reach this cache. Soon located. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Number nineteen on our walk today and a quick find in the hint location, although accessing was a little challenging, but just managed to squeeze through. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
Had a bit of a spit of rain as we headed to this one. Fortunately it was very short-lived. Pete sqezzed through to sign the log here. The final countdown was on.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
First cache on the way back after lunch. Disturbed all the cows but am sure they understood all about Geocaching.....

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
After lunch at the beach we headed along the tree line (in a little bit of shade) for a nice quick find here. Unfortunately we had to disturb the cows that were over the fence in the shade as they were cautious of us being in the area. Hopefully they moved back once we vacated.
Thanks for the cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding the cache on the beach its time to start the return journey/complete the second half of the loop. After exiting the beach track I followed the fence line, rather than the main track, to stay in the shade while making my way to this GZ. My GPSr was pointing in the wrong direction here as it turns out. Luckily I followed my nose instead and made a super quick find. Cheers for the cache placement!
Nice sheltered spot here for lunch and out of the wind that had made the beach less appealing. TFTC
Another geocache found in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
Back to caching again after our nice stop for lunch. Not too hard to find this one, the hint was very helpful. Thanks for the cache

First we went down to the beach where Mr P walked off the low bridge and straight into the swamp - one very wet shoe and sock - and what a smell... Mrs P was muttering about the car carpet but all was forgotten in the search for the cache. T4tc
Making our way back now but still plenty of caches to find. Followed the hint here and made another quick find once we realised which side we needed to be on. Good job one of us could fit through that gap.
We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches
Once we worked out the way to go, we soon had the cache in hand.

I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! Thanks for setting up all these caches!
After pausing briefly for a snack on the beach, it was time to head back around the next section of this nice track. I probably went the long way but got there anyway, TFTC
The sky was starting to clear up and things were warming up by this point . We were starting to meet walkers from the other direction now and it was midday.
Missed my path here a bit as I (wrongly) headed for the gate up the field. Soon rerouted myself and headed to GZ, I'll bet that'd be a squeeze for some cachers.
Time to hit the trail and looking forward to the caches from the placers here; Tramouflage galore and Pax of bisons roaming the plains.
Another weekend day and I have a plan to go and find some caches out at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park up the top of South Head (North of South Head then!). I originally put down a couple of new ones in this empty (of caches, at the time) park and Tramyard and Pax duly obliged to fill in some of the walking tracks with caches, which also had good views and interesting things to see. I was fairly early off from home and arrived at the trail start at 0900, arrived back at 1145-ish so under 3 hours for the loop, including finds. I'm pretty sure there's room for some more up there as the Red route has scope, as does the pale blue one. The weather was a little blustery and a bit cooler than recent but still a good day 5o be out there doing it.

I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. I took my pack off and managed to squeeze through to find this cache.
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
I'm not sure I approached correctly since I had to climb over a fence to get to GZ. TFTC.
A quick find and thanks for the barbed wire warning.
Now for a bit of a climb.

Uphill from here for us as we headed back towards the camper, cache easily located. Thanks
Tramyard asked me if I wanted to come along to place some caches in this Regional Park which what quite empty.... I had nothing to do, so grabbed my cache containers, logs and stuff and was ready to place some more caches in NZ.
Maybe we get some more people here to this nice park.
A concrete beach? Doesn't sound fun, right?
