In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health.TFTC.
After a slog straight up the hill we found some slugs going straight for the pill. Cache in good condition , one to go!
I’m doing a bit of a free range wander of the park today and locating caches that are close to my location on the way. A bit of a search on hands and knees but located eventually! TFTCs!!
Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
There are a few other people walking and running the tracks here today. We let another couple pass us here before we made the find. TFTC

Nice quick find here. Getting a bit hotter so was happy i was almost finished. TFTC
Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Almost done. Only one to go in the park. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Number twenty-seven on our walk today and almost walked past it as we were chatting too much. A quick find in the hint location, with just a little fence climb to do. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
Nearly overshot this one. Spotted it quickly but one of us had to jump the fence to sign our team name on the log. Nice views up here too.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
Think the cache name should be changed to ANTS! The whole nest came out to meet me when I opened the cache. We cleaned it up as best as we could (unfortunately there were causalities) and returned to its hiding hole.
ONTO the LAST ONE!

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
Mr NZT hopped over and soon had the ants nest, sorry that means cache, in hand....it was riddled with ants. We tidied it all up as best as we could, signed the log and returned it for the next finder.
Thanks for the cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "centre face" I continued along the track until I arrived at this GZ. I couldn't spy the cache from outside so I elected to climb in. A quick find after doing that. On opening the container I was greeted with a rush of ants. Looks like the ants have well and truly colonised this hide! Cheers for the cache placement!
It was a nice little find and I really loved how it had so many layers to prevent the damage it's a shame I forgot my pen though
Another cache found in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
I checked the wrong bush, then the other wrong bush, and then got some help from the CO who was watching me search. From there it was fine. Thanks for the cache (again)!

Almost at the end of the walk- Mr P made the find as he hopped over the fence and I watched the process. T4tc
The rain is getting alot worse now so we were glad to be able to find this cache quickly and know that we were not far away from the end.
We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches.
Another quick find when we checked the right bush

I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! Thanks for setting up all these caches!
We saw a welcome sight near here and it wasn't the cache, it was the car, and the thought of a cold beer to go with fish and chips at Shelley beach. Thanks for a great series and getting us off the couch! Only one more to go...
After heading inside for the last one I knew what the score was here and soon had the cache in hand, just one more to go.
Time to hit the trail and looking forward to the caches from the placers here; Tramouflage galore and Pax of bisons roaming the plains.
Another weekend day and I have a plan to go and find some caches out at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park up the top of South Head (North of South Head then!). I originally put down a couple of new ones in this empty (of caches, at the time) park and Tramyard and Pax duly obliged to fill in some of the walking tracks with caches, which also had good views and interesting things to see. I was fairly early off from home and arrived at the trail start at 0900, arrived back at 1145-ish so under 3 hours for the loop, including finds. I'm pretty sure there's room for some more up there as the Red route has scope, as does the pale blue one. The weather was a little blustery and a bit cooler than recent but still a good day 5o be out there doing it.

I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. I climbed over the fence and made the find on this one
Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
We were almost back at the carpark but were close to exhaustion and were tempted to take a nap under the shade of the bushes.
A nice quick find before a quick drink of what was left of our water to give us a boost to continue.
TFTC.

Only a few left to go in the park now and we are starting to get a bit weary but no way to go but onwards. TFTC
Tramyard asked me if I wanted to come along to place some caches in this Regional Park which what quite empty.... I had nothing to do, so grabbed my cache containers, logs and stuff and was ready to place some more caches in NZ.
Maybe we get some more people here to this nice park.
It's a bush! Not a tree! And not a T-Tree
