Took us a little while to find this one but once we got the little cacher on it he spotted it swiftly. TFTC
Found this after a few minutes of searching until I decided to climb. Found in the the end nice camo and TFTC
I may have over complicated this find somewhat, so Mrs stik-a-crane stepped in for the find here.....In the area today as we thought these caches looked a little lonely, and we had a carer for junior cacher .....it was time we got into some sunshine as we had been renovating a bedroom, taking up any spare hours....Left home at 8am (the wrong time as schools had just gone back after the anniversary weekend, and we hit traffic extending the trip to the park by half an hour.Arriving at GZ a quick chat with the local farmer for hints on the best route to take, and into cache finding.... then headed out on the adventure. The cache is in good health, luckily for water proof paper....TFTC.
Im starting to get into my stride now. Little bit of wind around but really hot when Im in the bush area like here. Loving being out collecting these treasures though. Thanks for doing this. Cheers.
A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.Mrs Coblet is away for the weekend and I was looking at the map for possible geocaching options to keep me occupied in her absence. After perusing a few potential locations I noticed this cache that we logged a DNF for in January 2021. This reserve is a great place to visit and there are a few other caches that we didn't get last time so heading over here was a perfect option. And with the added bonus of beautiful weather it was meant to be.I arrived very early and was the only one in the carpark so possibly had the whole area to myself. After a nice walk along the trail I got a bit concerned as I approached GZ as there was evidence of a slip on the bank, which I hoped wasn't where the cache was.Fortunately it turned out to be a few metres further down the track so I breathed a sigh of relief and started my search.I decided to leave no stone unturned and look at every object in great detail until I located the cache so was prepared to spend a bit of time here but, as is often the case with return visits, I made a nice quick find in the third place I checked. It's so nice to finally gain a smiley for this one. Thanks for a great hide Pax.Now to look for some more.
Could not come to the south head about floodiing and herre I must gave up about fallen trees.
Thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot.
not what we expected! had to climb to find it lucky we did because then was easier find, TFTC
Found it after a bit of a search, was getting wet in the rain but persevered .
Out enjoying a mid-winter walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. We arrived late morning and spent most of the rest of the day wandering around the tracks and finding plenty of caches. It was a bit wet underfoot but the weather was mild and we enjoyed the views as we walked an anti-clockwise circuit.
We spent a lot of time looking for this one, while reading logs and trying to interpret what people had said with relation to what we could see around GZ. Eventually we gave up and moved on. Two caches up the track, one of us thought of something that could make sense of what we had read, so we decided to go back for one last try - and still came away empty handed.

That took me way longer than it should have.
Was about to give up and move on,
But spotted the reflection of something.
Thanks _Pex_.

Out with team Gold today (0B80B8 and LisCrew) collecting a few caches in the area. Great day to be walking the park. Almost no muggle past so far. TFTC
Today I was on a mission as part of Team G0LD to Te Rau Puriri Regional Park on South Kaipara Head, to hopefully clear all the caches there and as many more as possible on the peninsula.
The Garmin watch showed a distance of 7.50 kms to complete the park in just under 3 hours with 250 metres elevation gain, so a nice exercise jaunt for the day, even if if was a tad warm and humid ahead of the approaching storm.
Sixth one on our walk today and a soon located in hint location. TFTC

Team G0LD (Geocachers: 0B80B8, Lis's crew and DaffyNZ) were on a mission today. The primary target was the cache rich Te Rau Puriri Regional Park at South Head. We were aiming to get our final mountain souvenir all done and dusted as well as filling an entire area on our maps with yellow smiles.
We couldn't resist a few quick grabs on the roadside on the way to and from the park to add to the tally. Up the bank I went and soon found what I was after.
Overall it was a very hot day with temps 28-30°C. We only copped a few brief spats of rain and I found 49 caches. My souvenir well and truly achieved. Certainly a pretty lot of smiles too. Thanks for this hide

Our primary reason for the trip here today was to attempt all the caches in the park. Mrs NZT stayed home to look after Geo Dog (poor little bugga had had a rough night) and Keylev and myself set off to find all these.
A bit of a scramble up the bank and soon had the cache in hand.

NZ Travellers and I had a plan to cache and walk today. Unfortunately their geo-dog was unwell so Mrs NZT had to stay home to care for him so it ended up being just Mr NZT and myself. Had a great day out, ended on a nice round number of 40 (50 would have been better but I had to collect our minis from their camp).
As I scrambled up one side, Mr NZT scrambled up the other side - he soon had the cache in hand...wasn't attached as we had assumed but didn't fool us.
Thanks for the cache.

I am out and about this afternoon, taking advantage of the excellent weather, to take a hike around Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. After finding "the tree..." I continued along the trail to this one. I wasn't having any luck spotting this one from my chosen elevation. A change of level soon corrected that and I was able to complete the find. Cheers for the cache placement!
Find number 5 in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park today! I visited here with tramyard, and we walked the loop clockwise finding all of the caches in the park along the way (and a few on the way there and back).
This was an easy find, unlike some of the others after it. No issues here. TFTC!

One of us spotted this cache as we approached and the other of us went up to retrieve the log to sign.
We had a lot of fun exploring this regional park on a stunning Winters day. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining these caches.
A quick find here of this cache which was just hanging around.

I had the day off work today, so I decided to get out for a walk in Te Rau Puriri Regional Park... an area that I've never visited before! I was greeted with nice views as soon as I parked the car and, being a weekday, I had the park to myself for the afternoon. It was a lovely walk down to the harbour and back, I found all of the current caches here without any difficulty and really enjoyed my visit! Thanks for setting up all these caches!
We spotted something strange in the bank, possibly fungus, so GeohoundandI had to get a stick to poke it. Daddypig's Assistant thought she saw something just out of reach. Whilst they were hunting around I went back up the track a little way and followed a geotrail straight up to the cache.
Whilst I was signing the log (HP family) we heard voices, and saw a mother and daughter approaching on horseback. Daddypig's Assistant picked up the geohound and moved off the the trail so they could pass. I think I might have been spotted, and it probably looked like I was having a wee, but obviously as we had left the water bottle and the snacks in the car I wasn't. But it beats the "tying my shoelaces" decoy.

Lots of homes (holes in the bank) for baby kingfishers nearby here. They’ve all left home now, so none of those strange noises that they make to be heard today.
Took me a second here to find it, nice one.
Time to hit the trail and looking forward to the caches from the placers here; Tramouflage galore and Pax of bisons roaming the plains.
Another weekend day and I have a plan to go and find some caches out at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park up the top of South Head (North of South Head then!). I originally put down a couple of new ones in this empty (of caches, at the time) park and Tramyard and Pax duly obliged to fill in some of the walking tracks with caches, which also had good views and interesting things to see. I was fairly early off from home and arrived at the trail start at 0900, arrived back at 1145-ish so under 3 hours for the loop, including finds. I'm pretty sure there's room for some more up there as the Red route has scope, as does the pale blue one. The weather was a little blustery and a bit cooler than recent but still a good day 5o be out there doing it.

Out with caching girls....Could have been tricky but merlot saw it in a strange place...not what we expected.
I was out on a ladies caching day with Supernanny and Nette1234 on a lovely autumn day. I went up and soon spotted it from above and directed the other ladies to it. Certainly not what we expected but grateful for a quick find
A lovely day out with Supernannny and Merlot.
Merlot went high and soon spotted it.

Out and about enjoying Puriri with the mexikiwi and evilno9. Glad we did so, as the next day we went into level 3 lockdown. We enjoyed the round collecting all geocaches on the way, with a short lunch break on the beach. No issues with any find. TFTC
I wasn't too sure about the hint as I was looking for the cache and even less so after I found it. TFTC.
Unfortunately no luck for us today, we just couldn't find the right bush. But gives us a reason to come back and we will conduct a more thorough search next time.
Chose to walk this circuit clockwise and so this was the next one along the way for us. These caches should stay safe for some time due to the great placements and attachment methods. Cheers
