Was visiting family in Waiuku. Decided to give the cache a go. Was able to find it with my three year old son who has just developed an interest in the Billy goats gruff and trolls. Great hidding spot. Thanks for the cache.
Easy to find, but don't look to hard for it or else you'll go straight past it.
Nice little cache and easy find, coming back from a run so nice to go get a cache that was in the area. Nice view towards the cache, found quick, cache signed. TFTC
Cute cache haha gave me a small fright lol. Hadn't read the story but lucky I was w mrpretty and he knew! Tftc
I like the story of the Billy Goats Gruff when I was little, so so long ago. I quickly found this cache and then whilst signing the log my "Billy Goat Bear" tried to headbutt me and knock me down the bank.
Thanks for the story and cache! First cache collected in my short stay in Waiuku. Lets gooooat!
Another awesome find. I love this very aptly named cache. I enjoyed the short walk to this one while my friend remained in the car. Nice views along the walkway.
I have just removed the log posted today,
It was a spoiler, which I have asked, please do not post spoilers, it spoils the fun for others,
at least I know it is not missing now, was going to check tomorrow,
Didn't think it would have been washed away, as in recent logs, very unlikely,

After spending the day in Awhitu Regional park checking out the condition of our caches, we headed back down to Waiuku for a spot of caching and to grab some dinner as we had a carer for junior cacher for the day......
Given the amount of rain in the area as of late, and the evidence of washouts around this cache, I'd say it has been washed away....No luck for us here today.......
TFTC.

Keylev made the find of the goat butt, after signing we replaced it head first for the next finder TFTC!
As a big guy, there is no way I would have found it, but my 8yo had no problems!! Good find, TFTC!!
I can see it clearly now, this is a series of very funny cache containers...
Nice and easy find. Nice ideas.

We hatched a plan with Tufty to visit Waiuku for the day to collect as many caches as we could before the rains came down. After doing the other section of the beach trail we moved the vehicles and set off to find the next set coastal caches.
Maybe Nanny Goat Gruff would be more appropriate. Yet another cute container, thanks.

Kiwicouple and I had planned for today that we would try and sign off as many of the Waiuku caches as we could. I was limited to smallish walks as I was trying to 'run in' my new replacement knee. So we brought two vehicles out with the idea of placing one at each end of the walks. This did prove very successful.
The title should be Nanny Goat Gruff.
Cheers for the cache.

Wrong side to begin with. Quick find on the right side. Love the container, fav point. Tftc
A relatively quick find here, actually located another item thinking that was, before finding the great cache. Worth a favourite.
NZ MEGA 2020 (in 2022) road trip - Day 7
Having had a fantastic day on Browns Island on Sunday, another member of Team Done by 1 (RustyNZ) and I arranged to go looking for the Crayola 64 series. Having completed it by mid-afternoon, we decided that neither of us fancied battling peak hour traffic so would do some more caching around this area. It's been about 10 years since I was last here in Waiuku, and this is my first visit here as a geocacher.
We were beginning to lose the light by this stage of our evening, but we both still wanted to press on with a sort of rugged determination in spite of our tiredness.
This was a bit of a weird one for us at GZ. We initially looked at the wrong end, but in doing so I spotted something of interest at the other end. When I went to investigate, I found a large Thomas the Tank Engine kids ridealong toy. Was this the cache? Nope, I couldn't find a logbook stashed anywhere on it. However, a bit of further searching revealed the cache to me in exactly the same location. No problems to report, and our names were soon added to the log, before replacing it as found and putting Thomas back as found too.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Phew made this a little harder than it possibly needed to, but eventually TwigNZ zoomed on in at GZ and had found the cache.
Loving the hides, thanks flossy63 another location not visited before

Cute old cache thankyou we are on our first date apparently it’s going pretty well wish us luck
Covid-19 level 4 Lock down, caching is NOT permitted In Level 3 or 4, "Stay at Home"
Missed this one on the way so decided to grab it on our way back. Started off on the wrong side of the bridge which made things harder than they needed to be but once we had worked this out it was a much quicker find. A nicely themed cache. Not seen one like this before.
I managed to hop along to this hide, no problems here, I had just replaced it where I found it, and there was a guy walking his dog, I never saw him coming, but he must have seen me there. What do you do? He probably thought I was nuts, yes I am, but not for the reason he was probably thinking.
Acted like the troll and soon found I did not have to go that far to find the cache. Quickly logged and returned
We fondly remember the story of the Three Billy Goats Gruff from our childhood and it was a favourite for both of us so we were excited to see this cache was based on it.
As we approached GZ we realised we have been here a few of years ago looking for another cache before the pathway was built so are pleased to see the area has been developed and made more accessible.
The container was soon located and we absolutely loved how it is consistent with the theme of the story.
After signing the log we quickly moved on in case the hungry troll came back.
Thanks for a great cache and a trip down memory lane.

out with agazo and alunb today, signed log as ana, another one quickly found so that we can move to the next cache, tftc
Spent a couple of days in Waiuku with AliGle. We had a little bit of spare time before dinner, so decided to take this short walk and grab a few caches. Waited for a dog walker to pass, then made a quick find here. Another cool cache, TFTC!
With Vistra in Waiuku for the night. It wouldn't be a trip away without a cache or two. Another very cool hide. Thanks
I had nice afternoon in Waiuku today. My caching stroll was put on hold two times because of rain showers. But still enjoyed it so much as it was summer rain!
Thanks for new placements in here!
My GPS was 7 or 8M away so I had to use my geosense first and it was good idea as cache was in there where I checked first.

On a girls roadtrip to Waiuku with Supernannny, Nette1234 and Merlot58. This group of nanny goats had to ignore the muggle troll on the bridge and carry on passed him to find the further most cache. On our return back along the trail, the troll had moved on and we were able to search. Quick find here of the well themed cache. FP given.
Out on a Waiuku road trip with the West Auckland Ladies....
Been looking forward to it .
Love this camo !
Kids would love it too.
Thanks flossy.

We had to leave this one and walk to the next one along the track as there was a muggle on the bridge so we picked this up on the return. I like what you did here!
Find number 7198. My daughter who lives in Waiuku is currently walking some of the Te Araroa and was arriving in Takanini today so I arranged to meet her and take her back to her place for the night. She had walked over 30km today so just wanted to rest so while she showered and sat on the sofa I went and collected these newish caches in town.
I had looked for a previous cache here with no success so was pleased to put my hands straight on it. No kidding.
Thank you for the placement.

Kittycat432 was ahead of me and didn't look properly or read the hint. I went straight to it for a quick find. SL TNLN TFTC. She eventually came back to me when she realized I had found it and had the cache in my hand. Just be careful of the goat... as in the story he might ask you " who is that walking on my bridge".
Was ahead of DAH and CO and so went tooo far. Doandhopers had logged signed almost by the time I back to GZ. Neat hiding spot. TFTC SLTNLN.
I spotted the great big object in the distance and had a bead on where to begin looking before my GPSr pointed the way. Nice container. TFTC.
