Another one which I couldn't find othe way up but was successful on the way back once Mrs T had once again made a useful observation. Not sure the container was attached as it was supposed to be; replaced as best I could
Found with Dali87 within our famous trip around New Zealand. Thanks for nice cache ....................................................................... TB Koumesovo geopivo DDEV7M
4-week family trip through NZ - Find #9!That one was a quick find thanks to the good hint.TFTC!
After the recent DNF by an experienced cacher, called in to check this one today. Unfortunately, cache had indeed gone AWOL.A replacement has been put in the same location and a couple of spoiler photos added so that time is not wasted wandering up and down the path. I want you to enjoy this great trail without any unnecessary frustration.
I have been visiting friends in Auckland for the xmas holidays, but yesterday came up into Northland to spend some time with friends here too. As always that gives me a chance to target some caches that I want for various reasons (usually some Challenge or another!) and today I specifically wanted to get a nearby cache to help me finish my NZ Jasmer grid.Having found that one, I was now making my way back to Whangarei and decided to stop here as I had been to this place only once before, on my second visit to New Zealand back in 1990, long before Geocaching existed. There's been a lot of development of this area since that trip, which makes access and viewing much easier than it was back then.I made my way to GZ, and then spent about 15 minutes looking for the cache. I then walked further to find a couple of others before returning for another search on my way back. Co-ords were a bit jumpy but generally kept bringing me back to a particular spot in which maybe there was a particular Punga that might have been said to have a face, but if so then I have no idea what the Hint is trying to tell me. I did search for about 20m in all directions and couldn't find anything else that was a face.Oh well, you can't win them all...happy new year for 2024 anyway.
The logbook is fullWhow, sussah21 and me on a yourney to New Zealand. We have planned this trip for many years, and finaly we are here.We will visit lovely places, hopfully see animals and birds that we dont have back home.Thank you so much for all the caches.Greetings from Sweden and Norway Fin tur.
Coords were very bouncy and had us going around in circles. We were about to give up when we noticed what we should have seen, we just approached from the wrong direction. Teeny. TFTC
A few hours at leisure in Whangarei whilst my good lady attends to some family stuff. The trail along the Hawea River was only 10 minutes walk from our AirBnB, so made for a great way to spend an hour or so.After letting a muggle pass by, I ignored the 'obvious' and went for the less likely, before returning to the 'obvious' and so finding the cache quite quickly Thanks 0B80B8#4802
Greetings from the UK!Got it! Enjoying a stroll to stretch our legs on our drive from Paihia to Drury. Lovely little hide. TFTC
I'm back up in my home town of Whangarei for the weekend, visiting family. Today I headed in to Whangarei Falls to find a few caches around there. Parked at the main falls car park and headed down to the waterfall, before finding that the track to the caches down river was closed for maintenance, so I headed back up to the car park and discovered another track that heads down on an angle through the bush and comes out right beside this one! Found this little one after a brief search at GZ. TFTC!
Was about to give up and my sleuth Aunty Carolyn found it. TFTF. Lovely walk.
Last on the trail and turn around at the waterfall was next, after photos of course. Cheeky wee hide here, thanks.
Last full day here, started off in A H Reed and walk on to the waterfall after the large kauri loop walk. A few caches and a nice day to be out in the winter sun.
Into June already and Winter is here with temperatures dropping later in the day, and curtains drawn earlier and earlier. Time to head to the 'Winterless North' - Yeah Right. A few days away up from Rangitikei and another 4 night stay at Chateau Ngunguru, the works bach. A good time to catch up with the family and grandchildren in Maungatapere, and a few trips to spend time with each other in Whangarei. Highlights of the visit; A few more Riser caches, some more 0B80B8 ones, meeting both of those COs within a few hours of each other on the Monday, and another rare Wherigo. As ever, thanks to all COs for their hides and maintenance.

Found it today, although it had been dislodged and was on the ground. Have put it back where I am sure it should have been. TFTC
Visiting this cache with Crazy Traveler ho had found it before, we found the hook but not the cache..
I had been to the Falls previously but I was back in Whangarei with somebody who hadn't. I had also found a cache here previously so it was good to be able to make a short walk to find another. It seemed a bit strange writing 2023 on a cache log for the first time.
Thanks for hiding this cache 0B80B8 I appreciate it. We decided to walk along the river for a little bit more. It's so beautiful ️️️
Tricky but luckily I had a toddler who was looking at bugs as protective camouflage
Our last day in Whangarei with Supernannny and we had time to collect a few caches along this walkway before heading home. S/N had previously found this cache and said that the pungas face is no longer like it was when she visited. A quick find here of the tiny cache. We managed to squeeze our name on the log, but it needs replacement. TFTC
I've looked for this one twice before with no luck. However I've seen that ️ before and I'm sure there was no vessel attached when I was here last. I hope I put it back correctly as it came adrift in my hands and there was no other obvious place.
Agh! I forgot to trust my instincts yet AGAIN!! GPS gets jumpy near water and it was taking me way off the path, spider webs in my face, tripping on sticks....and it was the FIRST PLACE I LOOKED!! So then I spent nearly an hour walking in circles. Didn't realize how tiny and we'll hidden we were talking anyway, determination finally paid off when I went back to the starting point. amazing spot! TFTC!

Spotted the likely hide immediately on approach, amazing how well that hide works, very clever.
The last one along the track for us, it hs been over 10 years since we were last at the falls it seems, must come back for another cache weekend soon, we have more area's not visited!
Did pick up an old drone on the side of the track, that's gonna become some cache hide back home.......
