Hi Dfc_jlk2019,The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention, or it may not but in the absence of the cache owner performing maintenance and/or disabling the cache to check it out, I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. After attending an early morning CITO, Mr CuriousQuest and I headed off to find a few caches. This was the first. We searched and searched before making a PAF. It was confirmed that we were looking in the right place but the cache was nowhere in sight.

This one had the brain cells & feet working. Once the level was determined & the access found, the cache was located reasonably quickly. Fortunately there were very few muggles so we were able to write in the log & replace with ease. TFTC

29-Oct-23
Caching with toriakyogle and after reading some logs we realised we were on the wrong level.Sunday thinned out the muggles so we were able to give a quality search. Thanks, Dfc_jlk2019, MummaBear66 and Princess1005.Log signed and returned.

Out with IolantheK on the CityCats traveling from North Hamilton to UQ and celebrating our anniversary [^]
We did some caching of the return trip, this one has suffered some damage and looks different to what the CO probably envisioned Twisted
That said our names are in the log.

This weekend T-Tech and I are celebrating our Anniversary and today we are heading to Hamilton to take the City Cat all the way to UQ and back Big Grin The weather was perfect and the upriver run was a very pleasant 90 minutes of sunshine, wind in our hair, seeing the sights, chatting to all the workers and enjoying the day. At the end we hopped off to grab the 2 caches either side of the bridge.

After a quick find for T-Tech on the eastern side we took a leisurely walk across the bridge. It's surprising how wide the river is here. We did search at the wrong level first but a read of other logs brought us to the right spot to discover the squashed container. Time to head back to the terminal and start the downriver journey. TFTC, Dfc_jlk2019.

At some point early this year, I had clearly lost my mind, as I agreed to climb 1000's of stairs with SeffnJarah and JeznDez at "Stadium Stomp" at the Gabba today, raising funds for various charities. It was quite cold this morning, perfect for climbing all over the Gabba for about an hour.

After a cafe 'reward' breakfast nearby, we said our goodbyes and I decided to spend an hour or two walking the lactic acid out of my calves and grabbing some nearby caches.

Securing a park a nice walking distance away, I hobbled towards GZ. But which elevation to check ? I headed towards my chosen elevation, where I spotted the cache in poor condition on the ground. The container has been crushed, the lid is busted and there are no magnets any more. However the logbook was still inside and it now has my name in it. I returned it out of site where found.

Many thanks

Pete

After attending two morning events and a nice lunch with E_Smiley, it was time to get back to business and search for a few caches before we headed our separate ways.

After the Coffee Event at Highgate Hill and Clean Up Australia Day CITO at South Brisbane Cemetery, Snickersallan and I wandered off to pick up a couple of caches we both haven't found.

We were keen for the letterbox and maybe get this one too as we've parked nearby. Happy to get a hint from the previous finder. Was quicker than we thought.

Thank you for the cache dfc_jlk2019.

Went for a walk after the nearby CITO. I used to catch the tiny Dutton Park Ferry to university. I haven’t been back since the bridge was built, wow what a different outlook now! Cache in good condition. Thanks!

05-Mar-23
After a nearby CITO event KerriMG and myself headed this way for a cache or 2 or 3. Approaching GZ there were some familiar faces doing the same thing. This made for a quick find and a lovely chat in the shade.

I am sure I did a cache here a while ago, but I still had a green spot on my map. This was the only cache I had in the area, so after the event it made sense to go and grab this one and finish off my map. I grabbed tuppens and we went for a walk. Bumped into Kolour on the way and we had a nice leisurely walk to this one. lucky we had a previous finder with us as the coordinates had us in another area. Tuppens did the honours and signed the log. We were standing there when two more ladies turned up, nice. Then it was a little walk over the bridge to grab a nearby letterbox. Thanks for placing this one all good here.

05-Mar-23
After the nearby great CITO event nikid1 & I headed off to grab a few of the close caches. This was our first & as Chamad, Kolour & Tuppens were still at GZ it was a quick find for us. We all then continued over to UQ for the next.
Thanks for the cache dfc_jk2019

I’ve been here before when it has been busy but today in the rain I had the place to myself. I felt all over every surface within 10m of gz and couldn’t feel anything. Reading through the logs I was quite sure I was in the right spot. If this is still here, then it is very well hidden.

04-Feb-23
I just walked back passed here and had another little look. And there it was plain as day. I’m sure I checked that spot before but I completely missed it. Great hide. TFTC!

Knowing we’d have easy access to free parking at UQ today, we decided to bring our bikes and collect what we could in the vicinity. Pulling up at GZ, it didn’t take La Kedi too long to put her hands on the cache.
Thanks Dfc_jlk2019

We hoped we’d chosen the correct altitude (we had) and being a public holiday, there were very few muggles around, making for a quick and easy find. TFTC, Dfc_jlk2019. =^.^=

Unfortunately after much searching from two sets of eyes we DNF this one. My GPS kept jumping around in location which probably did not help the search efforts. Will be back.

We'd found ourselves much further along the river than intended so this was where we decided to cross back over and double back via a hike through West end. I was glad to see there was a cache on the bridge as we made our way over the river. Luckily not too many mughles about today, as I've lost my stealthy skills having not done much urban caching over the last half dozen years.. regardless we managed the find fairly easily and got things sorted before heading on up the hill and hiring another couple of those fun scooters to get closer to civilisation. Gads we were getting hungry. Our thanks to the CO for adding to the enjoyment of our explorations today . Bless.

With a 4 day hike on Fraser Island coming up in a few weeks time I thought it a good idea to get some km in the legs beforehand. Starting at UQ St Lucia campus, I headed over the Green Bridge for a 28km loop, mostly along the river, out to the Story Bridge and back.

Thought this one may have been more problematic considering the potential for muggles to pass by but after spotting the cache quite quickly, it didn't take much of a wait for a sufficient gap in the passing foot traffic to allow the cache to be retrieved, logbook signed and replaced . TFTC

17-Sep-22
Easy peasy tftc

16-Sep-22
I walked past this one casually quite a few times during the past 12 months. And then able to spotted previously. This time I went a bit slower and grabbed it.

Visiting family in Brisbane, we were at U Q to watch our granddaughter's hockey match. Usually we are unenthusiastic about urban caches, particularly of the micro/nano variety. However we decided not to "walk on by" and have a look. Very fortunately and probably unusually there were no muggles anywhere near plus the coords and app were astonishingly accurate, a tribute to the C O. Mrs had the container in hand very quickly, the small log was signed in the diminutive D2 to save space, the cache replaced and we walked on. Many thanks, dfc_jlk, for the hide, perhaps we'll have opportunities while up here to seek more of your Ferry Series.

A wet rainy Saturday was just the ticket to helping find this cache muggle free.

I think you could fit a small pencil in it

Wow that was tricky, way too many people walking past. Nice views though.TFTC

16-Apr-22
Walking home from visiting my late pop, I saw their was a geocache near by and thought I would see if I can find it. Walking down the bridge it was cold and windy I felt like I was going to blow away. I had made it down to were it was. It was a really easy find just make sure to be very discreet. As I was putting it back I had to hide as someone was running past. I quickly hid and I thought I was safe until a group of people walked past. They had all gone and I got up and hid it back were I found it. Got out of their very quickly.

28-Feb-22
Once the rain event is over, the river goes down and we have sorted our house once we finally get home. We will get some containers sorted then we will head out and do a maintenance run right throughout our Brisbane Ferries Series in Brisbane City.

We have disabled this listing until then

I had determined the correct level before I came and picked a time when I thought there would be fewer muggles. I found a park in a fairly close spot and took the stroll to the search area.. A search in one spot was fruitless and then I had to wait for a few muggles to pass before I moved in to another spot and soon has=d the cache in hand.

10-Dec-21
Whilst in the area this morning, I thought I'd swing by and grab this geocache. Like others from what it seems, I actually took the hint too literal even though the coordinates/map suggested another spot. So I decided to head that way, only to read a few previous logs to note that others had done the same, and then needed to take another route to the new GZ. I definitely think the hint needs a rethink, and perhaps the hint should be changed to something like "Once you're at the right level, you will not find it if you're looking high." (?)

So I took a new approach jogging along the way, and I was soon at a readjusted GZ. After searching around and not finding anything, I searched from another angle, finding the hidden cache. The cache container was in good shape, but the logbook was slightly damp. Thanks dfc_jlk2019 for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

10-Dec-21
After work i decided to come here and pick up this smiley. I made a couple of mistakes here. First i was on the wrong level and took the hint literally and went to even another level and then the penny dropped so once at the correct level i got to within 18 meters of GZ and realized i was on the wrong side. Wow i really mucked up here. Then once at the correct level and the correct side i soon found the cache and felt really happy to turn this into a smiley. Thank you for all the fun

Our GPS was slightly off on this one but once we looked in surrounding area we found the obvious location. Signed T.L.

I have a love/hate relationship with this series…

Having driven past once before I knew where I had to go… so forewarned I parked in the best place possible, and as Renaldo isn’t a motorbike that meant a short stroll… once at GZ it took a moment to locate the cache…

Water has gained entry, and the log book is sodden… so much so it stuck to the handrail while I replaced the snap lock bag and added some silica…

Tftc…

I’m afraid I know exactly why this cache is so far from the ferry terminal!
After parking deep inside the cemetery, I was happy to go for a walk and find this one, even happier with the accuracy of the coordinates here.
All is in great shape so TFTC!
