This one took me way longer than it should have to snare. Ive done a few like this over the years but not one quite like this. Very good. Glad that my TOTT was still on board this one was much easier to put back . TFTC
We have been meaning to do this one for a while, and today was that day.Izzy is a bit under the weather so without going to far a field or doing lots of walking, these caches in the area were the perfect ones to locate. Scoot found the cache with ease and we had a TOTT in the car to assist. All in all it was a fairly easy cache, but we definitely enjoyed the challenge and creativity for it! Nice cache for the day
Thanks Budgietas for hiding this cache, I needed a find for today to update my calendar and find streak. This is my find #1494 at 17:42 on 2/4/2024.
Very tricky person who hid geocache is fairly evil good we had a lot of time I think its 1 of the hardest geocaches Ive ever got 4.5 difficulty is really hard.
another nifty! needed the extra inches from Mr bloopy but we got there. cheers!
After finding the right way to access this one
We had the cache in hand pretty quick
Thankyou
We had the cache in hand pretty quick
Thankyou
We had a bit of time to kill just on dusk and thought what better way to fill that time than some harder difficulty caches.
And we were not let down!
Viking family headed to Warrane, parked the car, traipsing through the long grass, hoping that all the nope ropes were asleep! we carefully manoeuvred our way to the cache.
Before long Viking dad was trying to convince Viking mum he could do something stupid, again with the not reading , but with tool of the trade in hand Viking dad soon had the cache in hand.
This again was an awesome cache and so much fun to find.
Definitely a favourite point from us️
Thank you so much for this wicked hide

Took longer to navigate to the cache than it was to retrieve it. Mind you, there was a fair amount of water around and navigating around that was a little tricky.
Thanks for the cache Budgie!
Thanks for the cache Budgie!
What an amazing cache! Had to come back for a second attempt... had heaps of fun finding it! Thanks!
Oh Dear look long grass everywhere and we walking though to watch out snake... We looked around the tree for 10 mins then finally found and im trying take mirco out few times and finally i got it... oh phew!!!! fav for u .. wink tks
Was in the area for work so thought I’d quickly go have a look! But this will definitely be one to do with proper wet weather gear and when I have more time to have a more thorough look
Wow! That is difficult! It took a few goes to get it down but it was worth it. What a great idea!
Easy found, more challenging to get. Initially S_38 put in the hard work, but then could hang in there when I had to get back t the car to get a pen.. Thanks for the cache!
Something just didn't measure up here. Fairly easy find and retrieval. Thanks Budgietas

Parked up and made the walk into this one through the rather long grass. Spotted the cache and up I went, a nice tree climb. Cache signed and down I got again .
Off to Hobart for an overnight trip and to also pick up the other half on her flight from Adelaide. I decided to do all the caches that were new along the Highway plus pick up a few targets in Hobart.
Thanks for the cache

Karicka grabbed a couple of random items from the garden shed as we headed out and they proved adequate. Thanks for the cache
As the lockdown lifted we headed out for some long awaited caching.
Had some improvised tools of the trade for this cache with us. Turned out to be most useful.
Thank you for hiding

We remember the original cache very well, the method of retrieval and the very ornately plumed local residents. So we headed off to this cache with our new TOTT, a 7m extendable pole. It took a few minutes to locate the hide and then it was time to deploy the pole. Only a partial extension was needed. It took us a while to retrieve the cache and sign the log but in the process, we learnt some things which will increase our skills with hides located well above head height. Thanks BudgieTas for the cache and the trip down memory lane.
FINALLLLLY retrieved the cache by tool as very difficult to pull down ..
Awesome cache as clever one..

RoadieM spotted the cache very quickly and then we spent a considerable amount of time trying to retrieve it. Unfortunately we aren't ex Hydro workers so don't have access any tools that could help us. Gave up eventually as we were on a quest to find as many city caches as possible. We'll be back!
Having just found "Dont Fence Me In" tassietan and I headed to find the next in this set.
We found the cache with little trouble, BUT we couldn't/didn't retrieve the log. We'll have to return with a retrieval device.

There was a cache like this in my home town. Much higher. No chance of a climb. I remember thing shoe laces together to create a long stick type tool to try reach it. Many hours later I signed it. Being a bit of a monkey, this cache here was a much easier grab. A fun afternoon bit of fun. Thanks
These three caches have been on our radar since they were placed in April. We closely read all logs to provide insight and any clues. Today was the day for us to find and log them.
Made our way to gz, unfortunate that a homeless person appears to be living nearby. After the recent rains the ground was quite soggy. As soon as we spied the cache, we realised we had previously completed a similar cache on the mainland. More finesse than braun was needed to access the cache and we were very happy to have cache in hand and sign log. TFTC

We found the original free range cache so we new what we were looking for. Once at GZ we made a quick find.
An excellent cache hide. Cache and contents were in excellent condition and adding to our favourites.
Thanks Budgietas for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Hi Budge
Had to go to a nearby establishment this morning after which it was time to hunt plastic
Arrived at GZ and my search didn't take long to locate the hunted
Looked for an appropriate tool and a bit of a climb had me the cache to hand
Sainted and replaced the cache at 1020 hours
But, I am getting too old for these antics - NOT!!!
It wasn't Tharking funny at all!
Still enjoyed the hunt and the find
TFTC and cheers

Hi Budgietas, having stalked these new three caches since they had been published, I had a feeling that I would need help so a plan was hatched for today. Coinciding with the drop off of two of our grandchildren who stayed overnight we met Mr and Mrs Natalie1234 and blinken/chelzybelzy who are part time cachers and have been caching before but are not as serious as all of us. Having moved our convoy down the road we headed to GZ. Mr NatalieC1234 did the necessary work involved to obtain the log and I did the pencil work again, it was the least I could do . Well done again we were feeling confident now 2 out of 2 .
Today we had plans to catch up with Porkchop6977 and, as always, a spot of caching was on the agenda. As it turned out, we also ended up being joined by occasional cachers chelzybelzy and her partner, Mrs Porkchop and assorted children, making for quite the caching party! Porkchop had his sights on a trio of new caches in Warrane, and that suited the rest of us just fine, so we soon found ourselves in search of some new Budgietas caches.
Having started with "Don't Fence me In" (GC95C3R), and reading between the lines of this one and Measuring Up (GC95C3X), we were beginning to get a little hunch that there might be a common theme involved. Sure enough, as we approached GZ for this one, we had our hunch confirmed as we soon set eyes on the cache.
Although we had the cache in sight, that was just the start of it - we still needed to somehow actually get it in hand. Mr Nataliec1234 ended up doing some impromptu gymnastics to get a bit of a leg up on this one, then with the help of an improvised tool managed to finally access the cache.
This one is definitely notable for the unusual hiding and retrieval technique! We've not seen one like that before! Thanks for another bit of fun in our afternoon.

After success at the other we headed here but this one took a little longer as we needed to get the best tools together, after a wasted trip to the car we got the cache in the end.
Another busy weekend, this time with the toolman visiting from the big island, he was down for the weekend and to go to Agfest, catch up and find a few caches. Well we managed to do all that and we had a great time.
Thanks for the cache.

This cache gave us a good insight into how the fishing pole could work and what sort of 'end' may be needed for future retrievals like this, although each cache is different.
The toolman ended up being out retrieval stick, clinging on like a giant lizard as we signed the log below.
I remember the original of this cache down near Kingston and enjoyed the tribute cache, but missed the chooks.
Another good creation and this D/T brings me one step closer to my fourth loop.
Thanks Budgietas

Hello Budgietas thank you for the cache
The cache was easily found and after a bit of tool making the cache was retrieved and logbook signed.
I was out with EeePees on an afternoon caching trip, as we arrived at the parking area Lil Rafa and rld4963 pulled up.
A great afternoon caching with great people.

Thanks for the cache Budgietas.
RLD4963, myself and the GeoGSP headed out for a couple of hours of geocaching this afternoon.
After a couple of finds at Cremorne, we decided to head to this area to do a bit of reconnaissance for the three new caches here. I didn't think we had the necessary equipment with us to find all three, but we thought we might find one or two, and maybe we could work out what we needed for any we didn't.
Just as we approached the end of the road, we noticed a familiar looking car parking - EeePees and Albydangles had just arrived to have a search for these caches as well. Excellent, the more the merrier when it comes to looking for caches with these intriguing D/T ratings!
I never got to find the predecessor to this cache, but had heard about it and I knew that it was a well-loved cache, so thank you for this tribute cache. As our little party made it's way to GZ, it wasn't too long before the cache was spotted and we were planning how to retrieve it. We made use of available tools and not long after were adding our names to the log! Two out of three.......now for the last one.

got to GZ and everyone spotted the container but getting its log was difficult, so we went out with a limb to get it. TFTC TNLN log high and dry. a very good afternoon 1 D 5 and 2 D 4.5.
hi Budgietas, thanks for the cache. Found with AlbyDangles, Lil Rafa & rld4963, trying not to be put off by the nearby tent - looked quite messy, but we didn't get close enough to see if it was inhabitated.
Bouyed with a fairly quick find at Measure Up, spirits were high as we walked back down the road, and then on to this one. Pretty much what I expected having found Free Range some years ago. After spotting the cache, I proffered up a tool, but AlbyDangles won with a more fit for purpose, albeit it shorter tool. Shortness of tool, and shortness of stature defeated AlbyDangles,
and I didnt fair much better (but so close) and so the baton was passed to rld4936 who had manoeuvred into a more advantageous position. It wasn't long befor we added our initials (to save space) to the log. The cache was soon despatched back to its resting place.
This afternoon turned out to be an impromptu caching outing with AlbyDangles.
Even more impromptu was bumping unexpectedly into Lil Rafa and rld4963 to share some finds together.
An excellent afternoon caching with great friends.
Thanks for contributing to our adventure/s today.
Cheers, EPs.

After seeing this one the day prior i knew what was needed but even still at GZ i was a bit nervous of what looked like a homeless persons camp nearby the day before. It was far away enough to not be of any issue, re: them discovering the hide maybe (sometimes i worry too much ha ha [B)]) I couldn't see anyone there so with my makeshift tool i plugged away.
I reckon my arms nearly dropped off from blood loss reaching upward ha ha [B)]
"Yep, nah, oops hang on... yes... no.... dang it!"
It was about near on 5+mins before i could actually hook the sucker lol
I wasn't going till it was done
A Fave Point for the sheer challenge and idea

I came at night after the flat battery incident on the night that the cache was published (by which time other cachers had been and gone). I saw what i needed to do but didn't like my chances in the dark. I came back yesterday but didn't try hard enough with what could be improvised and Master 7 was over it.
Today I returned with master 7, GeoWife and my mate Stanley, along with a couple of other items in my pocket, i quickly had the cache in hand, with feet firmly planted firmly about 4 or 5 metres from the hide. Signing was easy with extra hands and returning it was simple enough after some gentle persuasion.
A fav point given.

Out finding three recently published caches. Having found "Free Range" we knew what to expect. A great tribute to the original hide. Deserves a favourite.
We knew what would be required to find this cache as we had previously found pjamesk's Free Range. We arrived at GZ not long after the cache was published to find Mr & Mrs membsec already had the cache in hand. This saved us the effort of retrieving the cache. TFTC

We saw these caches come out and we just had to drop everything and head to them. We knew what was required and had the appropriate tools with us just in case we couldn’t find a natural one on site. Got a little bit confused as the container didn’t have a log book in it. Was on the phone to the CO when DnA! arrived. Male membsec was heading back to the car to get a log book with the permission of the CO. Clever and deserves a favourite point!
