Thanks again, well hidden. Took a bit of time but got there in the end enjoy your coffee
Found with Cympull. Looked for a while then found the right rock. What an awesome secret spot. TFC
Thanks for your amazing cache Gatman. I really appreciate the time you took to set up and maintain your caches. Found with Fisha1288. All good here but the Christmas chicken bone is looking a bit slim. Earned a favorite from me Cheers, Cympull.
Arrived in Tairua this afternoon and headed to this one after dinner this evening. The tide was coming in but it wasnt too difficult making my way around the rocks. I spent a while looking for the cache at the wrong tree. I neednt have gone up there after all, despite my coords seemingly indicating I was close to GZ. After no success there I tried searching at the next tree and located the cache within a short time. Very thankful for that! #7051. TFTC.
Found a nice hike during low tide. Did not find the cache. Beautiful view though!
Call me Wilson because we almost became cast aways. Knew we had to race the tide but still fluffed about after we got to GZ. what an epic spot! Tftc
What a beautiful spot. On holiday from Colorado, US. Enjoyed the beach. TNLNSL TFTC.
A great end to a lovely day! Forgot a pen so used a bit of rock to scratch my entry.
This old cache was for TEMBO! and me a task for today. We found a way to the GZ and signed the logbook.
The cache earned a favorite point and hopefully stay there for a very long time.
Thanks to Gatman for hiding and maintaining the cache.

Seven years ago, my friend *the_Grillfreund* discovered this venerable cache.
Today, *Filser1* and I were on site. Yes, this really is a great area. The low tide also helped us to reach the treasure.
I am happy to leave a favourite point here for the maintenance and preservation of the cache.

spent 6 great weeks in New Zealand with my The start was a bit bumpy (Cyclone Gabrielle) but then it got better and better. We travelled to both islands and discovered a lot. We photographed and filmed many beautiful things, but most of it stayed in our hearts.
Almost everywhere we stopped, a cache was already waiting for us. Most of the caches are well maintained and easy to find.
With mostly very nice weather, we saw a lot of this impressive island. In many places, caches were waiting for us, which were sometimes easy and sometimes difficult to find. This cache was also included and was successfully signed
We puzzled a lot in advance and the tours were well prepared
So this box was also well found.
now I have another on my personal cache card.
many thanks to [^] **Gatman** [^] for the effort and the cache and greetings from Germany

Found with goldielover this evening. Lovely little clamber across the rocks. Pretty near full tide today. Sea was nice and calm.
Apparently others saw Orca's here this morning. None here this evening.
All good here with your cache.

Woohoo - glad to have cracked this one at last! It fills a hole in my D/T grid and I've been trying to get up here for a while, but other commitments get in the way sometimes.... Anyway, the tide was right as we came back from our holiday, so we stopped and walked up to it. Cool little hideaway, and not too difficult to find. Great spot, TFTC
Out with my geocaching buddies "Team Seac". We thought we had picked the tides right, but was just off a bit, walk half way around before deciding to turn back.....will come back another time.
Great hide- we have been meaning to do this one for a long time but waited for the tides and the Mini cachers to be old enough for the rock scramble. Then had to wait till we were here again- I blame covid!! Thanks for the cache. Beautiful spot!
Day 4 of my week long road trip of geocaching, camping and seeing a few bands. Today I'm cruising around, seeing the sites and doing some goecaches. For the first time I am using the cachetur.no website and app to plan out my caching, and it's proving to be a handy wee tool.
After enduring a 20 minute queue of traffic to get here, 10 minutes finding a park I eventually got here to find people beaching close to where I wanted to be. Fortunately once I spotted where I thought I needed to search thier view was obscured by the rocks and I made a quick find all safe and dry. TFTC

Another walk along an amazing beach. Lots of interesting rocks here. Got this one snagged and tagged. Cheers.
Day 10 - Sunday 27 December - Tairua - up to Whenuakite and back and Pauanui power trail today. What will we find today?.
The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby and I are off on another geocaching escape over Xmas, this time to the mighty Coromandel, then over to Opotiki and stop off at Rotorua to return home on 5 January. Had an fabulous time exploring many wonders of our country. Rounding up over 400 caches along the way, with a few LABS, 20 odd TMGTs, virtuals and lots of interesting earth caches to keep the mind busy. Watching the sun come up on New Years Day at Mt Maunganui was spectacular. Lots of walking and even more driving. But had an awesome time. Thanks to all COs who made this adventure so special.

Another aawesome sunscreen day. Started by following the path from the carpark, but that just led to a little glen with three people meditating and no way on, so we dropped down to the beach for a better route to the cache. and at GZ? Good pun in the title. Dropped in a path tag.
Taybeedragon and I went on a tour of the Coromandel - one of the few places of New Zealand, especially of Te ika a Maui, that I have yet to explore throughly, and from there along the coast to Opotiki to see one of my many, many sisters. From 18 December to 5 January we found over 400 caches, including 12 adventure labs (60 caches), 20 or so TMGTs and a host of virtuals and earthcaches. And I hosted an event to see the sun come up on New Year's day - surprisingly popular given that it was at 5am. We climbed a lot of hills, saw some amazing beaches that were quite popular despite (or because of) the insane access to them, walk a lot of bush, entered and explored 8 gold mines and generally had an awesome time. However I am glad to be back, but now is the hard part, and I fear it will take just as long - logging!

found with hoofnt. Great hide. Only just got back round the pointy bit of rocks due to incoming tide. Only got one foot a little wet as jumped to rock between swells. TFTC
A bit difficult but very different thank you so much guys ♡ amazing views on a sunny day like this one 10/07/2020
I hoped that my pair of euchered knees would make it across the rocks but had plenty of time and got there and back with dry feet. This is the third or fourth time I have stopped to grab this one but today I got here and it was low tide. At long last I can tick this one off. TFTC
This is probably the most challenging terrain that my now 7-month pregnant belly has donr as we unnecessarily took the trek going to the forest before realizing there's no need of it. The joy of finding it is immense.
Such an amazing place and view. Worth a track to hunting this cache. Just dropped a TB there.

Found while on my Christmas holidays in Pauanui with Tramyard. Beautiful place. Thanks for the cache
Found on Christmas Day. It was our Christmas cracker! Great old hide. FP for being so old. TFTC
Found on an early morning walk. Not sure if I found the intended route to GZ - the way I found wouldn’t have worked if the tide had been in. Next, a long paddle along the sandy beach. Greetings from Ireland!! TFTC
The weather was not on our side, so we decided to go for a drive with the hope of finding a break in between the clouds further north. We semi-succeeded, and found a few more for the day between rain. We were aiming to get some old ones, and eventually made it to Tairua and followed the beach and rocks to gz. Amazing location, thank you for bringing us here!! TFTC!!
It is wonderful to visit these older caches. Steed ended up finding this one - it took him ages! I'd got wet shoes and taken them off, so didn't want to tackle the rocks. Thanks for the find.
Seems the Cache Carnival doesn’t like Write Notes turned to Found It logs, so I’ll re-log my find...
Phronimos, KrystalKath & Tama the geohound have moved to the BOP for seasonal work, but with no work today time for more exploring. And despite KK’s protestations this could involve a little geocaching. Fortunately it also involves a visit to Heaven and Earth crystals and a beach so My Mermaid is very happy.
I am surprised to see such an old geocache nearby, so while KK grabs a swim at Ocean Beach, Tama & I wander in the other direction in an attempt to locate it. Fortunately this was much easier than a similarly located cache at Cave Bay, Bowentown.
Signed log, but also couldn’t resist adding my name to the back of the original log book. It’s not often one gets to do so in a seventeen year old original logbook.
Definitely worth a favourite point and “Thank you” for keeping this old cache alive.

Kurz vor dem Abendessen noch hier an diesem wunderschönen Strand vorbei gekommen trotz oder gerade wegen des beschwerlichen Weges auf jeden Fall einen Favoritenpunkt wert! Danke für den Cache
After an accident involving a motorcycle vs car north of Mania we could not travel to Auckland via the normal route as the road was closed, so we were diverted through Whitianga and Tairua before returning to the main route north. Unfortunately there were a lot of other holiday makers with the same idea and we were stuck in a queue of traffic at least 6km long heading into Tairua. We decided to have a break from the traffic and the hot sun in Tairua and to find this cache. We enjoyed getting out onto the beach and into the fresh air as well as being able to stretch our legs. Didn't take too long before the cache was located and we were signed in. FP for the excuse to have a break from the long traffic queues today.
What a lovely secret this beach with rocks, the waves and the sun, tftc! A tricky walk/climbing to reach the box!
Great hunt. After our aging legs stumbled along the rocks. Found with Jennywrennz56. We forgot to bring a pen so did not record at site.
Fun to find! Smooth rocks along the way make it slippery. Beautiful morning to go hunting!
Found it! Wow cool hiding place, beautiful scenery.

My 5 year old niece and I enjoyed this hunt. There lots of rocks to climb which was so much fun. Our first treasure hunt!
Heading up to Whitianga & I realised the tide was reasonably good to look for this venerable cache.
Rock hopped/ strolled; I was pleased to have a walking pole with me!. Eventaully came to GZ, climbed a little, no luck, then spied something over the other side.....
Thanks for placing & maintaining this cache, Gatman.

We decided we would head up to Coromandel for a couple of days to do some Geocaching and walks, in spite of the heavy rain at home. Once we crossed the hills the weather soon improved and by the time we reached our destination it was fine and sunny. After staying at Tararu overnight we did the four or five unfound caches on the Tapu road and carried on to Pauanui for the night.
Stopped in Tairua for a break and decided to go and do this one that was close by. Sort of. Our balancing skills have deserted us somewhat as we have aged. As kids we could nimbly jump from rock to rock. Not nimble anymore. In fact one pesky rock rolled under Mr S's foot causing him to crash land into a rock pool. Fortunately Mrs S's new iPhone, which he was carrying for her, survived the impact and the salt water wash without any damage.

Up in Tairua for a couple of days - this was the best cache today. The heavy rain moved on and the tide was just right. Nice walk to GZ and then a little bit more and spotted a good place for the cache. Saw the smaller rocks and soon had a nice cache container in hand. Thanks for a great cache TFTC
Nice trek over to the hidden beach. TFTC and the fun adventure. D.A.D.D. Troy, Michigan, USA
It was a long walk from Tairua, but well worth it! Awesome rocky beach, almost abandoned (met a mom & daughter about halfway to the cache), breaking waves was the only sound I could hear. Thanks for leading me here [:X]
@16.00
At home I saw this cache which had a good D/T-Rating and was an old one as well. So I tried to figure out the low tide times and headed to there. On the way back I didn't see a waterhole, so I suddenly had a wet shoe.
Thanks for the cache says

3185 This one was my reason for coming to Tairua today as it filled a spot in my D/T matrix. I had spent the night in Thames and knew that low tide was about 11 am. It was a nice easy walk around to GZ where I looked in a couple of options before I made the find. Cache was all good so signed and returned. Not going any where else coastal in the near future so left TB there. Thanks for the placement
We arrived at the car park and headed to GZ ...took the wrong track and ended up in some squatters back yard ...wow what a home away from home ...he even ad it fenced off with tree branches lol ...any way back to the cache once on the right track it was an enjoyable stroll along a very quiet beach to GZ ....my trusty Phone GPS lead me straight to the spot ...this could have been a difficult one as there were lots of rocks and pohutukawa trees that fitted the clue ....I soon had the log signed and replaced on the cleverly placed cache....love this type of cache and it's in an awesome place deserved of a cache thanks heaps Gatman great placement great hide, great cache dropped off TB
We left tauranga yesterday in gale force winds in our camper questioning our decision to head "up the Coromandel". Today we visited Onemana before going up to Tairua. After clearing the others we had time and tide was right to find this. We initially took a wrong track and met an "interesting" character coming out of the bush. We carried on and came across a bivouac style camp. He had a home away from home under plastic. Once we were back on track we soon arrived at gz. Sooo many hidey holes. But the correct one was soon found. Great spot for a cache. Thanks for the placement.
After a hearty breakfast we headed out for a days caching in and around Tairua / Pauanui. This was our first stop given that it was low tide. Enjoyed the walk around the rocks towards GZ. A few muggles to contend with but we were out of view at GZ. A few minutes spent locating but miss did the job of finding this one. Great to find this one having driven past this area on many an occasion. We signed the log and dropped in a TB for the next visitor - TFTC!
What a great place and very happy to find this one while on holiday with family. Great to see old log book there too. Tftc!

Let the Adventure beginn. Calli87 goes to New Zealand and Australia!!!
**Day 4**
After Hot Water Beach we went to Tairua. The Cache was not to easy for me, but i can found him.
Nach dem Signieren des Logbuches habe ich wieder alles ordentlich zusammengepackt und in sein Versteck gelegt.
Vielen Dank sagt Calli87.

Great cache!! Loved the treasure and the old log book. Been there a while. Container is now a sistema. One of th logs in th book talks of a proposal.... Gets a favourite from me!
Enjoyed finding this one. Nice spot, low tide recommended. Also needed hint from last log 'boost required' to actually find it, even though it seemed from description I was in the right spot.
Master Seth Raven and I are down here for a 21st tonight and I am gathering a few caches whilst we are here. My friends have this fancy gadget on the wall in their bach and told me that it was low tide, do this one now. So we were off (thanks for the hearty breakfast and cup of tea Jess) Started out OK but the rock scrambling got a little more intense for these old bones near the cache . . . . FOUND IT but had to get Master SethRaven and give him a boost up to retrieve it out of it's hidey hole . . . . . all intact . . . . . logbook signed and back we got . . . . . on the way back I waded thru the water instead for a bit . . . . . more scrambling over rocks and then back to a bit of a track and then the sand (hot sand too) TFTC
Nice easy hunt and find. Might need to check on it though saw some potential mugglers around. TFTC
I have wanted to do this cache for a long time, and today the conditions were perfect - Mr P and I had time, the tide was out and we had lots of energy. Started off up the hill but quickly backtracked when we found someone was living in the wild - we passed them on our way back, them and the beer on the way to a non-caching party. Arrived at GZ (according to the GPS) but it didn't feel right so climbed over the first huge rock and immediately saw something which looked more likely - BINGO. (FP)

In memory of LRPnz. Left a wooden kreichek and Richard Fairgrave bagde. Phone gps was out and set me hunting around the wrong rock. Eventually the clue worked and I found the right crack. Tftc.
BDO with PP & TNXPro. Nice day for a walk around the rocks after a pleasant stop for lunch. TFTC
Somehow I'd scored another leave pass so a short notice call went out over FB for an 8am start. TNXPro & Jenseeker were up for it and this was our 15th find. This cache was a little bit special - awesome place and still going after 14 years! Cheers Gatman

Philip put the call out for travel victims and yet again I put my hand up, but this time we had traded in our usual partner-in-crime for a far more attractive one - Jenseeker.
Philip had a specific mission in mind, but really we were winging-it and I was just there for the ride. I wasnt concerned at which caches we targeted, but I had a maximum number in mind as I'd rather celebrate my 1500th milestone next weekend at the Mega-Event - [New Zealand Geocaching Adventure 2016](https://coord.info/GC63PZN).
We drove from Tauranga and turned off the main road to head up the east coast, which I am sure that I have never been before.
We stopped for lunch at the beachside picnic tables and discovered we were only a short stroll to this cache. Well more like a scramble, but the tide was low and it was an easy walk there. Found this great sized cache in good condition.
Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.

This was to be a nice and quiet weekend heading away for a bit of a magical mystry tour with Mrs Dragon and a chance to visit a few spots that we didn't normally stop at.
Having visited the Butterfly House in Thames, then the Raparua Gardens on the way through I was given leave to collect this one before continuing on to Whitianga for some lunch. Following Lunch it was down to Pauanui for an evenings stay and a very pleasent dinner at Puka Park.
As this wasn't a weekend for caching I was given a chance to pick up just a few as we went. A very nice walk to GZ as had the beach all to myself. Cache in great condition and ready for the summer.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to make a quick find

An enjoyable walk - left the kids to play on the beach with mr yodabeach as the swell was up a bit and the tide wasn't yet fully out. Geodog came along though so I still had someone to talk with. Got to gz without a problem - loved the stones on this beach! Thought the cache had been muggled as a perfect hiding spot that matched the hint was empty of caches. But a metre away, there it was! Nice placement. Tftc
Phew!! Tried this at low tide and thank goodness we did! What a ruggedly beautiful spot. The pounding surf and smell of the sea are wonderful here. Thanks so much for this caching adventure.
Another very old cache on my way! And so I had to stop here, of cource. A very, very lovely seaside! But the tide was quite high and so I had to climb along th cliff. Great fun!!! And at the end I rewarded a nice geocache at a beautifull place.
Thank you very, very much for keeping this quite old cache.

I was on a mission to get DT ratings that we were missing. The tide was high but we managed to navigate our way along the shore and it was a pretty easy find with the hint! The way back was slightly more tricky as the tide had got higher! But we made it, victorious! Lovely getting such old caches too! Thanks
A very enjoyable day (day two) geocaching through the Coromandel. Weather was stunning and the views were amazing
Nice cache - TFTC
Nice cache - TFTC
We walked along the beach, and scrambled over the rocks, at mid tide, to a fairly quick find. TFTC
Coordinates perfect. The tide was coming in but no problem with the access. No one around although I suspect I just rock hopped passed another geocacher going the other way. The log has just been hit today before me. Nice pozzie and no swell running today. Container a bit wet and the log damp but able to be used ok. TFTC

Sun shining and the sea flat as, a huge change from what the other side was like at the end of the day. Nice walk to GZ, but the GPS was putting me a little out. But a quick scout around I saw the hint item and had the cache in hand soon after.
Thanks for bringing me to this great location.

Another weekend... Another mission... Gap (of Fap and Gap) and I are working on several challenges right now. Who needs sleep anyway... (It's overrated). By the end of today, we will record our longest caching day to date (21 hours); complete a circuit of Coromandel Peninsula; find lots of caches; cover a huge number of kilometers; and race against the heavy rain forecasted for the region...
The heavy rain and seaspray made the journey around the rocks rather slippery. However, the cache was a quick find and a cause for raised eyebrows considering its age. TFTC.

On another road trip with Squirrel Nutcase to collect the 309 trail so thought we should pick up a few more caches as we passed. Started our adventure at 6am Saturday and back home at 3am Sunday with 91 caches in hand. Best ever day caching or should I say day and a bit.
12.30pm - Wouldn't have wanted tide any higher today, good walk around rocks and cache all well. SLTFTC
