Logs
We found 2 nails and a black disc? Given previous logs of why it was disabled we are concluding that this one has been muggled again.
found with Winnietwo! second visit but last time the kid needed to poo so left quickly but back this time and found!
It's a long weekend in NZ, due to someone having a fake birthday. I care not one iota for that, but will happily take a paid day off work to go geocaching Having spent the last couple of days in Palmy, the plan for today was to head back to Wellington using the scenic route (IE through the Wairarapa) in order for me to target as many of the new Apple geoart as I could get, and as many others as I would need to achieve finding 50+ for the day, to help me with my qualifying for the DGSc Challenge. So having stopped for a bit in Pahiatua, I was now in Masterton to see what I could find, as whilst I've been through here a few times as a cacher, I've never really given it a concerted effort before. What a lovely little reserve this is! I've not been here before so it was a pleasant surprise to be able to take a walk around, albeit a truncated one due to concentrating on the geocaching. This cache took me a little longer to locate than the previous one, simply due to the wetness of the ground, but otherwise I had no issues retrieving the cache, signing the log, or replacing it back as found for the next finder. I did note that the previous claimed finder did not sign the log, thus casting doubt on the claimed find. This was also be true on the last cache I found, and is likely just the teething issues associated with a newbie cacher. Thanks for setting this one up.
Met up with LNM1961 to have a natter and to find this cache. I do like visiting this reserve and this is the second time I have looked for this cache. Glad to finally find it. The cache is dry but container lid is broken. Kia ora rawa atu for the cache KiwiDragonfly.
Was talking on the phone to NZ_B, and as she was in town nearby, we decided to meet her here to have a wander & catch up while walking through in this very peaceful reserve - hope to find the cache. A couple of families out and about ahead of us, but when we had the cache location all to ourselves soon found. Cache all dry, but container lid is broken in that the top screws on, but doesnt have its lid. Thanks for bringing us back here.
Says on the details 10 to 15 mins to find but we found in abt 3mins but we did use the hint. Good job hiding it!
We had an enjoyable wander through this reserve in the dark - very peaceful. Took a bit of searching before Paddle Chick spotted it. Last cache for the day. TFTC and replacement KiwiDragonfly # 19,911
Not found today, 4 of us looking but no luck. May need checking to see if it’s still there?
Pretty sure I was looking in the right place, but couldn't see anything perhaps too hard for me!
A drive to Masterton to get some caches before a meeting in Eketahuna. Thanks KiwiDragonfly for the cache.
Day out with BFG in the Wairarapa. Really impressed with this reserve and the size of it. Lots of great things here. Was a bit nippy in the late afternoon, but cache soon located after I knelt on the steel mesh flooring and hurt my knee. Thanks for the cache and location..
We picked a side each, I found a cache Nice wee patch of bush, sknaht KiwiDragonfly!
A pleasant morning for a stroll around the reserve. This sort of hide does my head in somewhat. Physically not mentally I hasten to add. So I was pleased to spot it nice and quickly. TFTC
Wandering in Wairarapa between Easter and Anzac day. Another day trip. Today I went from Martinborough to Castlepoint via Greytown and Masterton. Found several hides along my way. This hide was one of them.
I was doing Adventure Lab nearby so decided to explore this little park too.
Tricky one.

A pleasant wander around this reserve and a fairly quick find, after initially looking in a number of wrong places. TFTC
I visited this reserve several years ago and i was sure there had been a cache here earlier and so this time we walked around a small loop and visited a couple of newer caches here. They were fairly quickly found signed and then placed . All was well with both of these caches and i took nothing and left nothing . i did take a photo or two also .
thank you for these two caches .

#13,340. A good walk in Solway, Masterton. Fortunately, GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a short search. Nice hide. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and .T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e..M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.
#10,926. I had seen a few new caches published over in Masterton in recent weeks and decided today was the day to come over and look for them. The weather forecast had improved and in fact it was quite a warm and sunny day over here in the east. I picked up Infoferret from her home and we headed over here in the morning. I have been here previously looking for a cache. Today I came with IF and while I was checking out the original spots I had looked in she spied it nearby. Yay. Finally I can convert this from a blue face to a yellow smile. Signed the logbook and replaced where found. Thanks KiwiDragonfly for hiding the cache here.
2 April 2022 11:13. Number 10937 for me. GSEL was keen to avenge a previous DNF, so we wandered around here. Got to GZ, looked where we thought it should have been, then spotted it 1m away, exactly as described. TFTC KiwiDragonfly, appreciated this one being reinstated.
I am finally allowed out of household lockdown and have managed to get this replaced at last. It is in a slightly different spot, but by less than a metre from the original.
Checked this one out today and it had gone missing yet again. I will replace it in another area of the park.
A joint Christmas Day find being:
mumandme - 5,000th cache
angelic_kiwi - 1,000th logged cache
melt'd - 100th logged cache
A quick find in an area we have visited often before - tftc

Great to celebrate Christmas and a geocaching milestone with mumandme and Melt'd. 1000 logs, yay!! Looking forward to the next 1000!
My 100th cache logged! Joint milestone with mumandme (5,000th) and angelic_kiwi (1,000th). Lovely spot on Christmas day, TFTC
I had had a bit of bad luck with this one.
On my first visit the cache had gone missing. Next time I was passing the cache had been replaced but the CO had forgotten to enable it and did so the next day!
No problems this time, a quick find which was just as well as I was running tight for time to catch my train. My only regret was that I didn't have time for a relaxed wander around the reserve.

(# 6878) Day trip over the hill for a touch of caching. Even better that it is a pleasantly fine day. A quick find during a nice little walk. Thanks for bringing me here.
#1700. Day 1 of a short sojourn in the Wairarapa for R&R for GB Leader and I, making the most of level 2 of this COVID-ravaged last half of this year.
We drove across the very cloudy misty Remutakas yesterday, and made it to Masterton in time for Jacinda’s 4pm update. No change for us, and a little respite for Auckland. Resisted grabbing a cache on a walk last night, as Reach the Peak Elbrus, round 3 of this Groundspeak Challenge, starts today.
There’s a 10 leg Broadband Box Art Ad Lab series here in Masterton, so plenty of scope for reaching the peak. Did an early morning walk from the motel, grabbed the first AdLab and continued on foot and then by car to grab 3 more broadband art legs and a couple more trads.
After lunch, we knocked off a few more Broadband art legs, and also some Trads. This was the first, nice little patch of forest in the urban environment. Nice easy find and nice new log.

Lovely walk on a spring day, warm sun in reserve. Nicely camouflaged TFTC KiwiDragonfly.
Whoops! Replaced this cache a few days ago but forgot to re-activate it. It's all good to go.
Grrr - after 2x DNFs I checked this one today. Cache definitely not where it should be.
Took a quick look as I was passing on my way to Solway station but my reaction was similar to that of GSEL (except that I haven't done anywhere near a similar number of caches to him or his friends!)
I came over to Wairarapa today to clean out a series of DNF's south-east of Masterton with two geocaching friends. We had a good run and managed to get all of them done in a clean sweep. But clearly the geocaching gods took offence at that and threw a curve ball at us. Despite 20,000 plus caches of experience between the three of us failed to find this one in the most likely spots. I see a newbie found it on the same day so that says it all really. Maybe we didn't want dirty knees. maybe we didn't want muddy arms. Whatever we dipped out. Another time it seems.
Found it out a bit too much in the open so moved it back after signing the log and added some cover. Lovely walk through the reserve . TFTC
I have found caches in the Reserve a few times previously and I always enjoy visiting; I thought I had covered some new ground today. Today's call was well timed between heavy rainfall and I was able to quickly track down the nicely hidden treasure.
When I returned home, I was curious about my previous finds and checked to discover that I had been to the Reserve three times before (I thought it was more). None of caches I had earlier found survive. As for covering new ground, that was certainly not the case as one of the caches was sited only seven metres away.

Love this beautiful Reserve. Easy find with @peadub. Signed log and replaced where found. TFTC.
Met up with Tufty to spend a day caching in the southern Wairarapa, in particular to score the PWGT caches there. Stopped for this new(ish) one when we arrived in Masterton in the early evening. No problems, a very quick find. The cache was a bit exposed so I have replaced it a little further out of sight and behind some stones that I suspect were originally used for this purpose. I really enjoy coming to the rather nice park, I have found a number of caches in here in past years including one (now archived) that was less than 10 metres away from the present one. Signed log, TFTC!
