Out for a meeting at the museum so had a quick diverse to get this after.Good quiet spot.
Stopped off here before leaving Matakohe. They've made a nice walkway here. Signed cache and on our way before this rain gets too heavy!
Quick find today. Heading to Auckland for daughters open day at youbees. Interesting foot bridge and beautifully carved Pou. TFTC.
I decided to go caching out in the southern boondocks between Maungaturoto and Ruawai today with invited guest Merlot58 riding shotgun. The weather was mainly fine with the odd, and I mean odd, shower of moisture. We had a marvellous time out there.
I thought it was at the second of one item but my shotgun rider tried the second of another item, she was right.
Cheers for the cache, Nicholson Family.

# 1994 After reminding the boy how to count to two, as per the hint, cache was easily found by dangerSAM. In good condition. Thanks
Long journey down to Cambridge planed for today. So we added some stops for our favourite hobby. This was the second stop.
Thank you for the cache

Heading back to Auckland after a day trip out to Kawerua on the coast through the Waipoua Forest. We detoured off the main road to find this cache at the Pou. Took a few minutes to spot it. Thanks for the reason to stop and get a close up view here.
I apologise for the late log. Driving to Dargaville in my new-ish Motorhome and still quite nervous in busy traffic.
It was a relief to turn off SH1 and drive along the much less busy SH12. It was also good to stop here to look at the Pou and read the information signs.
Thanks for this cache, Nicholson family. It gave me the incentive to go and look at the very interesting nearby Kauri Museum.

This was a nice find this afternoon. We come up here once or twice a year to a family property (less often in the last couple of years for obvious reasons) and I'm still a little bamboozled by the relationship between the new route and the old. This little diversion helped to clarify in my mind where the road used to be.
The cache was a quick find and all in good order. Thanks very much for the cache.

Nice spot to stop and stretch the legs. Quickly found. Thanks for highlighting this spot.
Travelled up from Dunedin for my first Mega event and wanting to sign off some geotour caches as well in Auckland and Northland.
Thanks for the cache, Nicholson_family

Right on my back door step and i have never been here... such a good way to see things
A quick easy find at the GZ. These pou are popping up all over the place to protect passing travellers and always have a great story attached to the. TFTC.
Well Covid has put a bit of a spanner in the works. With very few caches left to find in Northland, the intention had been to do a trip to Auckland in September to get the numbers necessary for this month's souvenir. However, with little chance of Akl being at Level 2 any time soon, a trip was planned to south west Northland to clear the few remaining caches in that area.
A real bonus of this 300 km trip today, was that I actually visited several places that I have never been to before, despite living in Northland for over 60 years. That's one of the great things about geocaching - it takes you to new and interesting places.
They have certainly done the roads up well around here, as well as the cycling and walking track. Cache was a nice quick find, thx to the good hint. Picked up the TB to move along. TFTC

This will be the start of a good bike ride when the cycle way is finished. TFTC
8 August 2021 10:31 am. A pretty spot on a nice looking walkway. Dropped off a boot tb to continue its journey. TFTC Nicholson_family # 3537
The elder future finder and I are headed beyond Dargaville to visit family for the day. I planned to collect this one on the way. For some reason I thought there would be a rest area here that would be accessible from SH12. So, I was surprised when there wasn't a car park. I parked up on Ararua Road instead. As it was still early morning it was safe to cross SH12 to access GZ. Good coordinates and a clear hint meant I found the cache in the very first place I checked. I picked up the trackable to move along. Cheers for the cache placement!
Edit; Dipping the TB I found here into the cache as it wasn't listed on the cache page.

20 June 2021 1:14 PM. Realised that I had logged some caches on my other phone and forgotten to log them so rectifying that now. Tftc.
A nice quick find thanks. A farmer cruised passed on his motorbike, refilling the rodent bait stations. Then the rain started, but only for a few minutes. A nice spot
Ms_KR and I are on a wee break to find some of the Northern PW GeoTour caches. Today we cruiised from Warkworth to Kaitaia. We had some showers, but the day was mostly fine. Still a lovely day for driving and caching.
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

Ka tangi te tītī, ka tangi te kākā, ka tangi hoki ko au. What an awesome pou and clever whakaaro/thought behind it. Tftc
On a caching trip to Dargaville to do some cache maintenance and get a few caches along the way. I put a call out on the Auckland Geocachers group to see if anyone would come and keep me company on the drive as it can be a bit of a drag to do a big drive by myself. Fortunately Jag50, Merlot58 and Team Welsh agreed to come so a full car made our way around.
This was our second stop of the day (pretty sure) and we made the short and pleasant walk down to the rather lovely pou and after a quick search the cache was located. Spent a bit of time to read up about the site and then headed off as there were quite a few wasps about - there must be a large next in the vicinity somewhere.
Thanks for the cache - all is well here.

This is a lovely spot and well worth the stop. Tuolei managed to navigate here no problem with help from the 3 ladies in the car telling him which way to go. Lots of wasps around here which we were careful to avoid and the cache was soon located., A little tricky to extract and we found some swag on the ground so added that back to the cache and replaced. Thanks for bringing us here.
This area has changed since I was last up here a few years ago. We figured out how to get to the parking co-ords and made the short walk to gz. Lots of wasps around so we made sure to avoid them and admired the pou after signing the log
On a road trip with Tuolei, TW and Merlot heading up to Dargaville. We have driven passed this Pou numerous times, but never stopped - today we made the short detour to gz where the cache was soon located. Glad that the cache was quickly found as there were a lot of wasps in the area. Must come back with our bikes to explore the cycleway! TFTC
On our caching journey up to the north with EyeSpyBen to sort out a few more caches and a couple of series, many miles driven over many days and many caches found, not to many dnfs
but lovely weather, Thanks to all the cache owners for the placements

Nice easy find once you figure out how to get there
Now off to Matakohe for some more before heading back home.

Really loved finding this cache today.
Had not been aware of this new Pou.
The area is dear to my heart as my predecessors landed and settled in Matakohe in the 1860s.
Luckily I came came up to find some new caches in the area...plus some in Whangarei.
Will be keen to try out the new walkway when it is finished!

goal this weekend was some work i had in the area.
but as usual i try and fit a little caching into these weekends.
with squirrel nutcase on board as navigator a little plan developed as we went. work was going to take me as far north as Mangawhai. early start Saturday a plot was hatched . with a bit of extra driving we could complete the northern section of the PWGT caches and be back for work Monday.
no problems to find just had to watch were you parked.

With Gap (of Fap and Gap)... Chasing down the last few PWGT caches for Section Tahi. We’re whipping through Northland this weekend at a cracking pace. No time to enjoy the scenery or smell the roses - it’s a pity...
This was an unexpected quick stop on the way to Dargaville. Thanks Nicholson _family and TFTC.

1083. 3:04 pm. Day trip with a little geocaching. 7th find of the day. I didn't research this cache before heading out so I was glad to spot the likely parking spot to detour to while flying past on the main highway. Looks like we'll need to come back once the cycle path is established. Found with eKitten, GRAkiWi &Co. Favourite point. TFTC(and a future trip).
It was cool to stop here after driving past it a few times. Took a while to find. Thought we’d be FTF only to find log book already completed!
Lovely wee stop in after visiting my in laws resting closeby. Have often looked at this Pou but just race past in our busy world. Tftc nice views from here.
