19 October 2024 13:55 The little creek was flowing nicely here today, and plenty of ground in this reserve was quite sodden. We enjoyed walking around this park and signing caches. Now it was a couple more to find and then start the steep stretch back to the car.If I was a Platypus, I would be happy living here .Thank you ahomburg .
19 October 2024 1:57pmDogs are not allowed off lead here, but they didnt say anything about taking your cat' for a walk. Among all our grand plans for complex caches and grand achievements, there is always time for a trad or two. After coming out of The Dandenongs, with the weather drying up nicely, catnap777 and I made the most of the rest of our day by scooping up a heap of mystery caches scattered about the place, and a few others (including this one) that we had cast our eye over before setting off on our fruitful daytrip. TFTC ahomberg. [^]It might be time soon to loosen this one off a bit.

14:58On our way back from another successful gardening event in the Dandenongs, n0w0rries and I still had some time to enjoy what was a fine afternoon to be out and about... so why not a Birdsland visit?Third find here. I found my way in to the coordinates, checked out the obvious spot, then looked behind me and there it was in plain sight.Cheeky, ahomburg.#8942
Bit of an explore around the reserve today, with a few caches to break up the walking. Thanks ahomburg
Found about 9m from the GPS position. It was easy to spot. Left in the same position. BYO pen
A great one..fell to the ground-hooked it back up..no pen/pencil and forgot to bring
Out with Michael man melt for the day trying to clear out a couple not very successful but to this one finally found it after I crossed the creek and back again
Today was a big day of caching in Birdsland with fisherfamfive and AdamWickenton. This one took us a fair while to locate, as previous logs and our GPSes gave us reasons to believe it could be on either side of the creek. A nice spot by Adam from a certain log sent us to the correct side where the cache was found on the ground but intact and well. TFTC ahomburg
Out today with CammJT and AdamWickenton to put some smileys on the map in Birdsland, where we had many solved puzzles, and other co-ordinate projections ready to be found. This one turned out to be a lot trickier than first thought. The GPS had us on the wrong side of the creek, once we had found this out the cache was found just on the floor. We have returned it to its original location upon replacement. Tftc ahomburg
Nice little find, was on the other side of the river marked but was overall a good find TFTC
I finally found the lake! What a delightful spot. I will need to knuckle down and solve a bunch of puzzles so I can fully appreciate all the offerings here too. For now, a trad will be fine.
A nice quick find too - what’s the catch???
No catch it seems
TFTC ahomburg I will most definitely be back

Not knowing what to expect today with ahumburg caches, l was surprised this was a straightforward find. In fact, there were no DNF's today, and the GPS was behaving. The hints were great. I enjoyed the walk and the tranquillity of the area.
Out with one of pinnacle333, we enjoyed walking in this beautiful Reserve. We looked at the obvious spot, no luck, then looked around and saw it. Thanks ahomburg.
What a gorgeous location it is here with lots of Birdlife. A great area with lots of families and bike riders out and about. Thanks for this one!!
After another cache proved to be on the wrong side of the creek I had to settle for this one to be the third and last for day - but we'll be back to explore more of this reserve (and I'm thinking of doing the National Tree Day planting and Platypus survey here ) This one took a short search before I spotted the cache not quite where I had expected but glad the colour of the cache made it more obvious so I didn't keep Cygnus3333 waiting too long. We took the other track back to the carpark. TFTC
Got myself the wrong side of the stream and whilst I do have long legs, they ain’t that long. Approached from correct side and found quickly between muggles and dogs. TFTC
This was a great cache find. We went wrong side of creek at first, but easily worked it out and find the right spot. Too bad there was no pen or pencil to sign the log book. ️
Nice find! Not easy definitely have to take a small trip off of the track small and blue.
Pleased to have found this on a previous visit as it is rather wet underfoot as well as elsewhere. Thank you for placing this cache for us to find.
We had worked on a few of these before and with things aligning so we would be in the area the next day we got solving on a few more. Enough if a window opened up to have a go at most of them. Saw a few Roos on the way a round and certainly wet wet under foot at times. A lap and outing for part of the afternoon. TFTC
Cherry picking caches in an area that I know quite well.
A few puzzles yet to solve and a couple of challenges, some completed, others... who knows?
Thanks for the cache and the opportunity to keep returning to this delightful area ahomburg.
I haven't given up hope on spotting a platypus here. One day perhaps...

**This Cache:**
A rare traditional as I was walking past today!
Better snag it!
My coordinates were a little bit out, closer to the creek, but as soon as I turned around I spotted the obvious cache hanging a bit further back!

**Today:**
I was riding solo today! The other Adventure Boys all had other plans and caches they wanted to get, but I had my eyes set on some "ahomburg" challenges around Lysterfield, plus a few other interesting caches along the way including a virtual, some gadget caches and a few puzzles!
A long drive out this way from near Whittlesea, but well worth it! Plenty of hiking both on & off trails, but my hayfever was the worst it has been this entire season.... wasn't the best but I managed to push through as much as I could whilst taking plenty of rest breaks!
Today was also the hottest day of the trip, excellent sunny weather without any threat of it going sour, but this meant that I had to keep up the fluids and try to find shade when possible!
After all the hiking it was time to attend 3x event types for an evening of socialising! This is where the Adventure Boys rejoined! We first attended the CITO, then the event with an epic tree climb, and finished it off with a CCE near the city.
Thanks to all the CO's and event hosts who made this day wonderful!

Found geo A few meters out. Great place to see platypus’s between dusk and dawn near the ripples
Went a bit too far off track and wasn’t willing to jump the creek so I backtracked and found it. Lovely walk. Reasonably popular path, but most people have dogs so that makes me happy. Also plenty of reception. For Pokémon hunting.
I have a little set of draft logs that are not huge in number (22) but date back eight months. I can't remember what I was doing eight days ago let alone eight months, so am going to be efficient or pragmatic or lazy or something and do generic logs. Sorry about that. I do appreciate the efforts of all COs though and can definitely say a big TFTC
Accompanied with silence49 and finding your cache ahomburg, thank you so much for placing it.
Found on a walk after work. I'd been here before to parkrun so it was nice to take a leisurely stroll around
Found at 2:31 pm.
With school holidays on my daughter was hanging out to go for another scooter ride so we headed over to this great park which I have been to a few times before. Really cloudy and overcast so no need for any sticky sunscreen. A couple of steep hills here and there which made the scootering challenging but we ended up stashing them in bush a few times for caches that were out of the way a bit.
After overshooting GZ a little and got to the creek, we turned around and it stood out really easily looking us in the face.
Thanks ahomburg for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

I enjoyed my first visit to this park today. Found this cache along the way, spotted by abthings. We were unfortunately thwarted in our intention of walking through to Lysterfield Park, owing to a controlled burn. To get more caches here it seems like I need to solve some puzzles! Thanks for the fun.
I had wandered through the reserve to find the **8*12 Month Type Challenge** cache... and on my way back to the car park I stopped off to find this one. A nice easy find... sort of. I made my way to GZ but couldn't find anything. When I turned around, there it was... clearly on show... but well hidden on the approach!
Thanks **ahomburg** for this cache.
Thanks **ahomburg** for this cache.
Always love coming out here, this area is always so beautiful.
My phone originally had me on the wrong side of the creek, but luckily as I was approaching from the incorrect side I saw something that looked out of place on the correct side.
Once I got to correct side the logbook was quickly obtained.
The cache was in great shape, but the log is getting fairly full. TFTC

Quick little find on our way home. Forgot a pen to sign log. Lovely day for a stroll around the lake. Thanks!
Dad and teen needed an outing this afternoon, and with the sun beating down we decided a walk by the lake would be perfect.
A gentle stroll in from the car park saw us deciding which side of the creek to search, and we managed to guess correctly. A minute or two of searching and then dad spotted from the corner of his eye.
Thanks heaps for the cache and the walk.

After attempting to find a nearby letterbox hybrid only to be stopped by a giant kangaroo and the threat of snakes in some very long grass on a lovely warm summer's day, the doggos and I decided to come here instead. The piles of leaves and sticks between the main path and what I suspected was GZ also seemed very snake friendly, so I tied the dogs to an outer tree and ventured in on top of what I assumed would be hiding the cache. My assumption was wrong as is often the case, and so after balancing for a while afraid of stepping into the sticks with my non-boot shoes I decided to use my eyes to search from a stationary point rather than the usual "bush bash till you stumble upon it" technique. I'm glad to say that in this case it worked quite well and a few hops through the bushes and the cache was in hand, quickly signed and returned and out to the dogs again I ran.
My fear of snakes was bolstered when I emerged from the bushes and a man running past warned me that there are lots of snakes around here at the moment, just what I wanted to hear... not!
Thankfully today we managed to avoid any and instead had a wonderful walk in the beautiful sunshine. We're slowly turning that 50 yellow, but I think it will take a while still!
Thanks for the cache ahomburg!

I’m trying to fill in some dates on my calendar so this one was today’s. First time back here for quite a while so lots of new caches. Saw a man walking with 2 goats off leash, something you don’t see every day! We gathered the info for a couple of multis, but after last nights non stop rain the path at the end of the lakes was was completely flooded so we had to double back and access this one from the other side. Dog also had a bit of a paddle in the dog swimming area but wasn’t too happy when it got suddenly deep Managed to get back to the car just before the burst if rain
A nice easy find, all in good condition and another date ticked off.
Thanks ahomburg

Sadly was not planning on caching today so didn’t have a pen on me.
But it was nice to get off track and enjoy the sounds of flowing water.

Nice and easy which I love. Makes it easy to keep the kids motivated and a great introduction for the extended family to geocaching.
Ive been trying to get back into geocaching lately but lockdowns keep holding me back! It was nice to see this series pop up which was within my 10km to help get me going again. It was a beautiful day today and the Birdslands were full of people walking. A nice quick find here - TFTC!
Found @6:36 AM #7889
Back again for what is a morning routine with efforts to train up for a hike later this year. Stoppped by on a loop of this great reserve to completed another in this series. Good stuff. Like the deployment method here and a peaceful spot.

Another quick find with the serene creek - no platypus found on this visit. tftc
What a lovely day for a walk around Birdsland.
Master 10 found this one, and we are slowly learning what we need to do.
Next step, I think, is a dedicated geocaching backpack.

After 14 days in quarantine I needed to get out and about. Today was a chance to reflect and to stretch the legs.
As usual I took the hard way in and the easy way out. TFTC.

YAPIDKA- what a gem of a park. Headed out on the MTB on a mission but had a few cache stops of course! Rain stopped but creek up. Soon spotted the secure cache coming from right direction. TFTC and the fun
Our goal today was to explore this lovely reserve and pick up some solved puzzles. This was an unexpected traditional which we signed on this very chilly but sunny morning.
Thanks for bringing us to these lovely walking tracks.
