Visiting the Adelaide region for a week from Port Macquarie. Today was yet another very long day. We headed south towards Victor Harbor, over to Cape Jervis, and then back up the coast, plenty of caches were found, and tons of adventure lab questions answered. We had an especially fun and very productive day and were left feeling very tired but satisfied by the end. Detour for the age, made a quick find. Thanks for the cache
In all our travels we would not have even thought to travel to this location. (HaHa). In your dreams, these cachers do. [:(!] Thanks for an awesome effort. Devilish Brilliant and Clever I like it Another one off the list TTBLNSL TFTC/TFTH/TFBUH - Team Piggy [^]
What a gem, a 2002 cache, thanks for keeping this one alive. This was the first trip to the mainland for this group of Tasmanians in a while, we flew over on the 24th and left early on the 3rd. With 4 days in Goolwa followed by 4 in Glenelg we managed to get some caching done in different areas and pull in a select list of caches we all almost all needed, old caches were on the list as normal but also some different D/Ts with some high fav pointed cache making up the remainder. The trip didn't start well with Qantus losing a bag which made us rearrange a couple of days but we got some 4WDing in and a even some driving on the beach to get a couple of different caches, boat trip to Adventure Island was a great start on the day of the Mega too.All caches were stamped "Team Tassie" which consisted of myself, gooseandegg, Budgietas and Tassie TrekkersFound on 26/02/2024 thanks to Team Piggy for placing this cache for me to find. Some awesome views from this cache today and for the views I am giving this a favourite point.-A mixed day of caching today. We had a plan to do a 4wd track with swampy and vk7hch as we thought it was safer in numbers. Of course due to some good planning we had no issues. No doubt Murphys law would have kicked in if we went alone. We found all the caches we knew where they were, but we unsuccessful in trying to find a new cache we hadnt worked a solution out to yet. After separating from swampy and vk7hch we went off list as we were running in front of time. We managed to find some additional good D/T and old caches that were in the area. All caches were stamped with Tassie team which included Gooseandegg, stainless steel rat, Tassie Trekkers and myself. Thank you for placing and maintaining the caches for our enjoyment
Today is day 3 of our SA Great Leap Forward Mega adventure. Based at Goolwa, Mr T, Gooseandegg , Stainless-Steel-Rat and Budgietas concentrated on finding caches with appropriate D/T 's to fill their Fizzy Grids and this was one of them. We signed the log Team Tassie. We found a variety of hides with varying degrees of difficulty.Enjoyed caching in this area, cache and contents were in good condition. Many thanks to all CO's for your cache placement.
We came here purely because this cache is old. I said once, and it's been used a few time. "D/Ts come and go. Old caches only go!" We seek them out for that reason. It was a bit fresh here (damn cold in comparison really) but the views were fantastic. Thanks Team PiggyThe usual trio of myself, stainless steel rat and Budgietas was joined by Tassie Trekkers for The Great Leap Forward trip. We decided to cache down south around Goolwa, Victor Harbour and extended reaches for a few days, before basing ourselves in Glenelg for the second half of the trip where we cached around the city, the hills and the Barossa Valley with a highlight being a couple of hours on Adventure Island. Many thanks to the Mega Committee, all the helpers and many local COs who kept up busy and entertained. Most logs were stamped with Team Tassie.
#7150Day 4 South Australia....Back on the mainland after a brief trip to Kangaroo Island, we're on the road to Adelaide today, without a great deal of time and sketchy (and cold!) weather, we stopped for some special caches with good DTs or a Jasmer gap. With lunchtime temps of 11 degrees today we're all wishing we packed more warm clothes....We diverted up onto this picturesque ridge as this cache fills a Jasmer hole we're chasing. 11 to go now! Is it always this cold? TFTC!
#7150We arrived on Kangaroo Island a few days ago, and today is the day we leave and head back into Adelaide for a few days, but of course we have to grab caches on the way! Had a great day getting jasmer grid caches, oldies, cool DTs and various other caches and types!Beautiful spot with amazing views out over the bay, and another jasmer square! Outer container is sopping but the little logbook capsule is dry. TNLN SLThanks for placing and maintaining this cache Team Piggy!
This pineapple is teaming up with locus cache for a very chockers and eventful day. Attending 2 events and 3 CITO's, with cache finding in between them all.
After we wrapped up at the third and final CITO, we then went out for some high quality caches near Whites Valley and Pages Flat.
It was good to clean up lots of rubbish and clean out parts of my map as well.
We made our way up the nice drive with amazing views. Upon arrival to GZ we made a nice quick find.
All is well here with the cache and contents. Good to grab a golden oldie. An amazing spot for a cache.
Thanks Team Piggy for this traditional cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 3529 on the 1st of September 2023.
CITO's are a brilliant way to help keep our community area's clean. The Earth is our playing field and we need to protect it!
Always be sure to cache the "leave no trace" way!
**South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!**

A magnificent day for a country drive with the muggle Mrs. With some business to do down south, a few caches were sought on the way there and back.
All caches were is good condition unless stated otherwise.
The hide was soon located but the contents were wet and soggy. The old log book still inside was covered in mould and sopping wet. Maybe the owner might want to remove it?
Thank you for the cache Team Piggy Find Number 10541 on 4/04/2023

Mr Tardis was out on a southern Fleurieu explorer adventure motorbike ride. I stopped here to find this one, and found it in the first place I looked - don't you just love it when that happens?
Some lovely views from here, and some great riding on these back roads.
Signed the log. Thanks for the cache Team Piggy.

Drove right down and to a very scenic location, so windy that is true and today there were a couple of eagles floating about in the valley. Cache easily found, a bit slimy on the log but another in there was okay. Another great oldie.
Trip log:
When it comes to our trips for GreyHams and myself, opportunity seems to play a big part in the timings.. be it an event, sales on airfares or car hire, in this case it was my visiting SA and being there that worked so well for this one!
So it was a drive up to Adelaide to collect GreyHams from the airport and then a trip that would see us ending up in Mount Gambier in the South east of SA, close to my family holidaying nearby and conveniently located that GreyHams could fly home to his. Perfect when a plan just comes together!!!
The primary target of the trip was counties, about 21 in total and we had almost the complete opposite need of counties from each other. Of course we also targeted other caches of importance, oldies dominated the state but there was DT, virtuals, webcams, Ausmer and types. If your cache made our list it had a quality we were wanting, or as GH says, we were waiting for a ferry or a plane!
What a variation in the places we visited, from Adelaide's suburbs out into the hills, the ferry across to Kangaroo Island for the night and the many coastal regions through Victor Harbour and Goolwa. Through Murray Bridge and out into Mallee Country to Lameroo before turning and finding a great bed and meal at the Keith Hotel. Continuing South into the very bottom of the SE of SA before returning north slightly to make the plane, in time and that arrived! So much wild life through the areas and locations of interest, it was great!
Had to love the Santas through the Adelaide hills, seems that stuffing a Santa suit is an art form all of its own, and entertained us for a long time! Kayaking to an island on Kangaroo Island was fun and although the donut from Port Elliot bakery had to pass with masses already queueing... the chunky steak pie from Willunga Bakery might not have been as good as a pepper pie later but it was still damn good! Its the little things sometimes!!!
Many thanks for your cache that led us about on a varied and very enjoyable trip!

Real Tupperware! Though contents a bit mushy

This trip came together due in the best way! Aquilus1 was over in SE SA visiting family, yet had a bunch of counties unfound between Adelaide CBD and Victor Harbour, I was missing all the counties south & east of Strathalbyn. What could be better than flying over from Canberra and being picked up at ADL airport and knocking of ALL the counties all the way to Mt Gambier, where I flew out. Last minute Covid shenanigans in Sydney & Melbourne threatened to derail it, but all good.
Of course our trips are more than just counties....we have a range of targets: Oldies, webcams/virtuals, larges with challenges and D/T thrown in for fun. If you are reading this log, then this cache had some quality we were hunting (or we were waiting for ferries or planes!)
We saw such a change in countryside, from Adelaide Hills, to Kangaroo Island, up to Borrika and then down to 'the Mount'....and the Santas! I can see areas where christmas lights arent the done thing, its stuffing your own Santa and posing them in the front garden, saw some very funny examples, we were chuckling for an hour I swear.
South Australia has such a wealth of very old caches, its wonderful. We grabbed lots of oldies and are now just a single find off our Ausmer challenges (just need to get to Melbourne or Brisbane for the last).

So this was a fairly full-on solo geocaching day for me today, and I wanted to make the most of the terrific weather that had the right temperature, sun out and blue sky. The plan was to head south to tackle some of the power trails / series, and for the most part, that was achieved. My day started at Seaford, and then it was a run along the creek finding the *Real Aliens* series. I then diverted towards the ocean, to find a nemesis oldie and enjoy a run along Moana's cliffs. A selection of the *Cats and Dogs* series were detoured past, before a break at Aldinga's bakery. Next was the *Forty Winks* series, and then back towards the ocean to enjoy a few caches at Sellicks Beach. It was getting to late afternoon by the time I drove through Myponga, and targeted a few hiking geocaches around there, and back towards Sellicks Hill. By this time, it was dark, and so made my way home, having utilised this great weather as best as I could.
I certainly hadn't planned to find this cache today, but I was close enough whilst in the neighbourhood, and this had been on my target list due to its age. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks xxx for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance. It was nice to have found this oldie 10/2002 hidden cache!
P.s., awesome work to Guilfoyle's who replaced this container and logbook, so hopefully this new set will last another 10 years then!

We are down this way for the long weekend to catch up with and spend some time with our great friends, Dunmowin. Our last day today before heading home. As others have noted this cache is putrid. The lid is cracked and the contents wet and mouldy. We signed the log in the secondary container that was placed and is in good condition and dry. Doubt the CO's care as they have not been on GC dot com for over 2 years and have ignored all previous suggestions to maintain the cache. Thanks to e.gregory1 for putting a replacement in.
Nomads travelling in their caravan around Australia. We have been on the road since July 2011 and discovered caching in August 2013. We travel with a bunch of travel bugs belonging to our sons and grand children. Where ever possible, we will maintain your cache as we travel.
Based at Willunga house-sitting for a few weeks, our newest best friends SnappyTomCats came down to see us for the long weekend. How do we entertain them? Go find some caches? Still cold today but less chance of rain. We only had the morning to cache, so stayed closer to Willunga - The Hill looked like a good place to start.
Needs new baked bean tin! Great view, not windy too much today. Yesterday, you would not have been able to see your hand in front of your face. Thanks Team Piggy. Fave point for the view and the cache description.

Nice spot. Great views. Outer container still needs replacing. Log is nice and dry in a separate small container. TFTC
Tempted by the promise of a beautiful warm autumn day, EsromL and I headed south to Granite Island for a walk, lunch and to grab a few caches. And the day turned out to be stunning, with just a few fluffy clouds in an otherwise clear blue sky and barely a breath of wind.
We picked out a few older caches, along with some multis, a puzzle and a couple of earthcaches to find on the way down.
We made a short detour and quickly found the cache.
As has been noted previously, this one needs some TLC - lid is cracked and contents are soaking wet.
We didn’t have a suitably sized replacement, but we did put a dry replacement logsheet inside a smaller container inside the cache, which should help for a while until the CO can do the required maintenance.
Thanks Team Piggy for the cache.

Well holy cow that's a view. That'd have to be the best I've seen in the Fleurieu. Hills, sheep and then sea; so high up here. I'm giving a fav point because more people need to come out here. A tip to those driving up from Aldinga way: Loud Hill Rd does not continue up here (it's closed). Turn at the big 'O' on Victor Harbor Rd top of Willunga Hill, on Range Rd.
At first we went to the wrong tree. And another. And another. At the fourth tree the big box was spotted. Thank you for the "regular" size box. I get bored with nanos. Greetings from France.

Top view, possibly better in the morning, rather than afternoon or evening.
almost muggled out by a bloke walking his dog and then had 50 or so sheep watching me make the find
Amazing views well worth the drive off the main road great swaps dropped off TB ready for the next move.
Found this one a couple of months ago but iT was water logged. Today the kids enjoyed making a replacement and fixing it up. Lots of new dry swaps and a dry log book beautiful spot !!
Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring South Australia.
Currently camped with our Caravan at Kuitpo.
The weather looked okay when we headed out but we did not actually check the forecast. Perhaps we should have as by 3.30pm it was raining cats and dogs.
Yep saw this one whilst completing the forty winks series but finding the right road to access took a bit longer but we got there. Even managed to get the view between the rain showers. Was awesome, thanks for taking us up here.

On top of the world up here, the nearby house must have a few anchors holding down through the big blows. This would be as pretty a view at night with the burbs below. This is the oldest cache we have done in SA so we were thinking of the changes since it was placed.... It now has nearby houses, the coastline has filled up with more houses and the South Road rushing by way below has got so much busier. Great spot and a bonus of heaps of lambs in the nearby paddock. Thanks Team Piggy for bringing us here.

Found in the arvo after seeing Mum for Mothers Day, nice drive up here and a great view. Already logged for needs maintenance but unfortunately nothing on me so couldn't help out, sorry!
The lid of the container is broken and the contents of the cache are very wet and slimy. The log was in a bag but that too had a bit of water in it. Replaced the bag so the log stays dry and placed the cache upside down to try and stop more water getting in. This cache container badly needs replacing.
Out for the afternoon with Madham02 and decided to grab some of these out of the way caches. [^] [^] Had a great drive in and what great views we had when we arrived at GZ. Not too much wind here today, a nice day really although a bit hazy looking out towards the coast.
Thanks for the cache Team Piggy and for bringing us here.

Great cache in a great location! Wasn't too windy today but could imagine the sorts of winds that would be experienced up here at times.
Parked at the 'Road Closed' sign and walked the remaining 50 or so metres with the dog. Quick easy find of a cache in a good state of repair.

An impromptu night drive with nightsmoker nearby to home led us to this windy spot but magnificent night view! Cache had a bit a water and a rusty flathead inside which i drained as much as i could but new log book was still sealed and dry
Sorry Team Piggy for the generic log but I'm trying to catch up on my logging, I currently have over 1000 to log before hitting some powertrails in the US after the block party next week. As always I enjoy the hunt whether I'm solo or with some of my caching or muggle friends. Thanks to those who have accompanied me to make the day more pleasurable and many thanks Team Piggy for placing this cache.
Found my way to the general area and saw the 'road closed' sign. There was no evidence of roadworks and the road was good, so I continued on to GZ. Not much wind today, and some very slight drizzle kept things cool.
Found the container. It had dried out a bit but the log book was still very wet - and full. I had a spare log book in my geomobile so I put it and the full logbook in a brand new sealable plastic bag and returned them to the cache. Oh! and I signed the new log book.
Fantastic views from here. Worthy of a favourite point. TFTC Team Piggy.

Gate was closed, walked the 2kms up hill with my parents puppy. He loved it more than I did. Beautiful views. Found quickly once I had walked up and down the hills. Heaps of sheep up near the fence watching us. THIS WAS MY 100th CACHE!!!! TFTmilestoneC!
Pretty wet inside, log was still fairly dry though, and rather full!

The main road up here is closed. Need to find an alternate route some day. Triple treasure troupe.
A bit of water in the cache but log was relatively dry. Had fun getting there and the view was great. Thanks Team Piggy.

We had a hell of a time trying to scale the northern face of the ridge to get to this cache. Turns out the southern route is far-far more sensible!
