After yesterday's effort of a trek right up to the transmitter and 6 FTFs, I was quite surprised to see two new caches at Tangihua Forest published this morning. These ones were much more accessible, so i knew we would have to get moving if we wanted to be first again.

A quick call to Lis confirmed she was keen and would be ready by midday meant we were able to begin our walk just after 12:30. Near the dam walkway entrance there was really only one option for the hide, given the hint. And sure enough, there was the cache with a nice blank log still, so we were able to sign off for another joint FTF just before one o'clock.

Only a 5 km walk today that took just one hour, so much less strenuous than yesterday. Less pleasing was the obvious numbers of cattle that had been moved along several kms of Omana Rd this morning, liberally plastering it with recycled grass patches. A bit of serious cleaning of the cache mobile will be required once I get home. TFTC

I was surprised to see these two new ones pop out earlier today. I was in line at the supermarket checkout when Pete messaged to ask if I was free to go back out. Except for my slightly bung knee I wasn't sore from yesterday's hike so I thought why not. He picked me up at my place at 12 and off we set. Just an hours walking today, 190m elevation and 5kms walked. Another joint {FTF} with 0B80B8 at 12.56. A bit sunnier today. Thanks again Smile
