Sadly no find from me. I took my time. Tree finds can be hard to spot.

After my successful search and find of an old one nearby, I looked here again. Still, nothing to spot at eye level, or as it is now, waist level after the slip that has come through here.

A good hide, which, if it's still there, eluded me today!

I was actually heading for Blenheim for a few caches but just before I reached the Wairau Bridge I changed my mind and headed up the North Bank. The sun was pouring into the reserve today and I had the place to myself. Very peaceful. Thank you for highlighting the whakapapa o te awa and the whakatauki in the cache. Actually I think the traditional word is easier to pronounce than the mistaken one. Kia ora ki te kete # 17,093

{FTF} @ 2.17pm. I set a process in place on my work computer which was going to lock me out for 45 minutes to an hour. With nothing else to do I checked this cache which I had placed a watch when on it was published. As no-one had claimed the FTF I decided to spend my down-time productively, (from a geocaching POV).

Google Maps said it was going to take 22 minutes to get to GZ which was right in the sweet spot for the time I had available. It took slightly longer than that due to the road works at the new round-a-bout north of Renwick.

There was another camper at the domain when I arrived but it was out of sight of GZ. Ignoring the parking waypoint, I managed to drive to within 9m of GZ and got out of the geomobile and started my search. While I was searching, another vehicle entered the domain and headed straight towards me. I thought someone was going to join me for the hunt, but at the last minute they turned and headed off in another direction.

It took a little while to find the cache as c:geo would not settle down due to the overhead tree cover. In the end I found the cache with c:geo reading 5m an acceptable deviation given the conditions.

I got back to work and had two minutes to wait before the process I had set in place earlier was complete. A satisfactory outcome.

TFTC sshmule +1 from me for a contribution to my Project-GC FTF badge upgrade, only 7 to go.
