Logs
No joy for me, although I *did* read an old log that pushed me further up. Lots of tree fall around, and I was short on time. Will try again.

FITW GreenMenace, ObnoxiousSpaceCat and most importantly Auntie Susan!
I always enjoy a good spring! Had a few mouthfuls - water seems good!
No problems finding the cache, but it was quite damp inside again. I put a sheet of waterproof paper in to sign on as the existing logbook was a bit too wet.
Kia ora! Paldies!
Thanks for the cache, snoworm!

Found it. Was a bit wet. Needs some maintenance but didn't have much to replace it with.
I've been here before but hadn't gone up far enough to the spring, very cool to see the spring and hear it bubbling! Wasn't sure where to look for the cache and then saw the lid staring at me. TFTC!
I remember looking for this years ago. Was a easy find today. Geodog had a nice drink on no the fountain after a big walk ok part of the Crater Rim Walkway. Tftc
Lovely feature. Stood at the spring to see any likely hiding spots and there it was winking at me. TFTC # 18,777
Tried finding this one a few years ago without success.
Today parked the car, just as a group of muggles arrived. I sat patiently in the car, having a late lunch waiting for them to leave.
With them gone, I climbed up and spotted the cache straight away.
Happy to be signing the log. A bit of pruning and grass cutting has happened, but it does not effect the cache.
A bit of history, thanks for the hide. Water pouring from the spout today!

Easy find on a bike along the summit road from Evans pass....cache was totally out in the open and log book damp but signed and replaced with a bit of local camoflage. TFTC
As the sky looked just ideal for an early afternoon bike ride I rode up Worsley Track to access the Summit Road to visit firstly the Sign of the Bellbird virtual and afterwards ride onto this cache. It took me 30 mins to reach the Summit Road and with the details for the virtual noted down I rode out to the Rhodes spring for a quick find. The logbook was found to be damp but writeable. Out for a drive and to walk up Coopers Knob to see the views.. Naturally this was along the way, and happily made a find.
TFTC snoworm, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 1 find(s) of 2 today, making this find #3480

On the way to Christchurch we made a stop at this beautiful location. Cool road round the Cooper's knob.

It wasn't a quick find at this unusual fountain but persistance paid off TFTH
A long day out for SullyMum and the two boys. A drive across the port hills from Gebbies Pass to Sumner beach, with a lunch stop in Lyttelton. 13 Caches and an Adventure Lab, probably makes it the most productive day we’ve had in a while (if ever). Waiting for SullyDad to get home from his summer in Antarctica - due to land back in Chch in the middle of the night.
First of two DNFs for the day. Had a good poke around, fairly sure we were in the right spot, but no luck.

Very nice location - poked around quite a bit but not very pleasant with the rain. No find.
Quick find a a stinking hot day. 2 hour bike ride today so decided to do summit road loop. Was disgusted to find someone had used the side of the fountain as a toilet. This fountain is a life saver
Quickly found. Useful to have water for the horse. Can't say I needed any myself.
8439. Great spot. Nice walk from Gibraltar Rock carpark. Thanks for the cache. Was up here today checking out the walk up to Coopers Knob.
Found in the open so covered a little so its not visible. Seem to remember doing another cache here years ago. Its a pity Igor felt the need to write his name in blue on the Rhodes plaque. Tftc.

Nice easy find on an evening adventure. I was surprised to see how the spring worked as I had never ventured above the fountain before. A great spot and a favourite point from me.
A beautiful day for a Sunday afternoon drive. Blossoms exploding everywhere at this time of year and have even seen some kowhai already. Tftc
A nice quick find thanks. So thats where the water comes from. Nice.
Ms_KR and I are cruising around town catching up on some local caches.. It was supposed to rain, but the weather has been great!
Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches. Cheers.

The spring was springing beautifully today after all the rain. Snow still laying, and as LW has so kindly mentioned, I plonked and slid classically down hill. The cackling witch saved me further searching in undergrowth, clever camo, well done!
Very clever hide and the witch did a wee cackle to alert Busypaws that she had found it. Busypaws thought she was on a playground slide when returning to the car
A bit slippery up behind the fountain but we made a reasonably quick find. Good camo. TFTC.
Time to head home but not before a few target caches for my D/T and month hidden grids. Left the City and headed over the Summit Road which for most of the way was under a thick blanket of fog. Nice quick P&G here TFTC
Another to the city for a searched rescue course...only a one dayer but making a weekend of it ..roped kjr into tagging a long....
Time to head home but not before grabbing a few along the way..bit of a detour over the hill..
Cache didnt take long to locate tftc

This took us a bit of time to find as the GPSr was focused on a spot a bit further down the hill. And the cache itself was so superbly disguised that it added to the difficulty. But we got there. What a superb camo. A favourite for that. TFTC!
We made the journey quite a bit longer than necessary by missing the turn off. To busy looking at the road works and not the GPS. We arrived at the site in the fog and found the cache, no traffic or muggles all very quiet. Lovely view when there was a break in the fog. TFTC

Wai not indeed! When this was first published i was helping Mr13 with some homework with MrsTG. As soon as i saw the cache name and general location i knew the spot. See ya later gotta go love ya bye...out out the door i went and hooned up the hill...only to be turned around half way up. Id forgotten dyers is closed over nights for the road widening. Oh well. Back home & help finish the homework and pack the boys off to bed.
Long time no mad night missions....so i headed back out into the dark and headed to summit rd the long way...but really, i think it would have taken the same length of time - out through TaiTapu and then up Gebbies and along the shorter but windier end of summit rd. Soon enough parked up and investigating the fountain and spring. Its been a while since a cache was last here. Soon enough cornered and signed. Nice one. Thanks....and a lovely evening to be out.
