TaurusSix and I have started our Easter holiday a day early, making Thurs our first official Easter holiday day. We are heading to Pemberton and basing ourselves there for four nights while we explore the region and everything it has to offer and of course fitting in as much geocaching as practical along the way, whilst still doing lots of other things too. We love the autumn weather and there is always something special about an Easter get away.

Day four has been actioned packed. The main focus of today was the Donnelley River Cruise that we had pre booked. It was leaving at 9.30 am and we had chosen to skip the courtesy bus so we could drive there and pick up a couple of caches on the way as well as be free to leave again straight after the tour to explore some more. On the way there we stopped at Goblin Swamp and wow what an intriguing place, recently burnt though so in some instances more intriguing however!! We could not find the cache there but we were happy to have visited it anyway it was a very special. Then to the Donnelley River Boat Ramp , we were there before anybody else so able to collect the cache there with no worries , a great little hide. The cruise itself was magnificent, such a special area and as natural as it comes. The guide and captain of the boat was full of interesting information on the area . As we were nearing the river mouth we collected the information for the nearby earth cache and was excited to learn it was “Bunbury” Basalt. Then we docked , at the sand bar, we were told we had fifteen minutes and we were 800 metres from the geocache. We let the captain know what we ere doing … just in case. One of us ran all the way there across the sand the other one of us was more the back up and meandered in the direction of the cache . With seconds to spare, it was found, logged and a steady jog for both of us back to the boat . After the boat cruise we headed to Lake Yeagerup , nice drive and collected a couple of caches. The lake was quite spectacular. There were muggles sitting on a bench nearby so we had no choice but to tell them what we were doing. They were very interested and intended to google as soon as they had connection again. Then it was back into Pemberton yesterday we had a dnf for the bonus cache of the Rainbow Trail Series the CO was kind enough to give us extra hints so we headed back to find the elusive cache and we were delighted to find it. Then it was on to Beedelup Falls before heading back to our accommodation .

This was our first cache find of the day after a dnf at Goblin Swamp. The boat ramp and area in general was deserted when we got there. Just as well we were quick though because very soon there were 30 plus people waiting to board the boat . This was a very neat cache hide and we soon found, logged and replaced. Thanks for the cache orrsom .

Made a quick find while waiting for the cruise to depart. Lots of fishing folk with cars, trailers and boats filling the parking area. Thanks orrsome.
After arriving in Permberton yesterday, our plan for today was to visit the new cache on the Donnelly River... We arrived early with our "non-caching" friends who love boating & keen for a trip after us telling them all about it
Whilst waiting for the rest of our party to return, I made the find here... It took some time to discover & lucky I had time to kill as otherwise it would have been a DNF Turns out the prize was lodged deep within & I discovered by using my camera... Then I had the problem of retreiving it, which eventually did after coming up with a plan to get it out!

Went to check out the snottygobles after it was burnt out. Then headed to the boat launch area with my sister 00neats00.
Thanks for the hide.
Thanks for the hide.
Thought we would go for a little drive this arvo to grab a first to find but we were just a tad late (and couldn’t believe it honestly )
Such a nice spot here, didn’t realise they had done the boat ramp up all nice and new which is awesome. If only we had a boat TFTC

I’m not quite sure how this cache went this log without someone claiming the FTF, so we didn’t really rush here today and we’re surprised to find a blank log.
A great spot, and the cruise down the river to the t5 cache is very high on our priority list I can assure you.
Thanks for the find and the hint too.

A trip down this way for a little escape from the city. Loved the open roads as usual TFTH.
