Cyclone Gabrielle did a great job in clearing this area; taking the cache with her.
Looks like Gabrielle played hard with this cache and took it with her along with a forest of trees! Will try to find a suitable home for it soon.
I was rocking roping and hoping that all would be sound and a quick find was on the cards ...We were staying the night close by. So with much anticipation I approached GZ ahhh.but no someone must have been a tad angry as GZ is a mess.. that's putting it lightly I think Gabriel really lost it...no chance of a find here ..although I did hope I might get lucky...I guess you will have a remanfacture job on your hands Yorkshirekiwi
Utter annihilation here. Matchstick trees everywhere. Path has vanished, with large holes along the side of the road. All downed trees have been pushed off the road. No luck here.
How did it take us so long to find this cache?? We overthought it! Cache is all good. TFTC
I was not expecting this. I sealed the container . Log signed and thanks for the placement
After last year Miss with this cache I was motivated to find out.
And after dodging the same odd cyclist the cache was spotted and sealed.

Visiting Taupo on the way back to Wellington from Ohope. Hubby out playing golf so I made the most of some alone time for a couple of hours.
It did take me a few minutes to find this, surprisingly. Love the hide. FP from me!

The gps was bouncing around here so I'd checked out a number of places before it was spotted.
Took a while to pry the container out, but everything was soon signed, sealed and delivered.
Thanks for putting this here

Catching up on logging as we found this one awhile ago sorry.
Out for a bike ride with the family while staying nearby at Wairakei Resort. A quick find after stopping at the Honey Centre for some well earned refreshments. All good here, TFTC!

Sneaky hide. Took us a little bit to get it, then one of our big eyes sprinted over to it, cutest find
This one had me stumped navigation led me to a pretty exact area. Was unable to spot and got into a fight with some brambles so will have to come back another day to try find this cutie.
Stopped in on our way home from Auckland to Hastings. Cute find.
Thanks for placing the cache Yorkshire_Kiwi.

Haha cute little find, the kids enjoyed looking for this one. I spotted it and waited for them to spot it too before being the 45th person to sign and also the last log on the first side thanks for the awesome little cache
Love the camouflage lid . Thanks for putting a smile on our face and a smiley on our app .
Found it while exploring the area on a family holiday. Left a sticker for next finder. TFTC
Staying in Taupo for the weekend and out on a bike ride and heading back to town and passed this cache The nearby adventure looks quite busy which is good We have been very lucky with the weather and had a lot of fun. TFTC
First find of what is likely to be a very wet holiday weekend! Fairly quiet here today. TFTC!
We were cycling back towards Taupo along the mountain bike trails. We stopped to let some riders go ahead of us. While we were stoped, one of us spotted something that looked out of place. On closer inspection we noticed that it was a cute cache container. It took a bit to extract the log, as it had been pushed in too far. Replaced cache as found and we were back in our bikes. TFTC
A very clever hide. Had me scratching my head for a little bit, but once the compass settle down I was on the right path.
#13,006. Parked off Karetoto Road in Wairakei, Taupo for a short walk across the road. GZ was all quiet at the time of our visit. Found after a bit of searching and widening the area. Hidden in plain sight, but surprisingly well blended in. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.
Thanks for the placement, and for bringing us to this site, and …

This took a little while to find even it was pretty obvious. Such a lovely idea and great hint! Thank you
Visiting Taupo for a few days as term has finished. Always good to be here and have a few new caches to find. Stopped here on the way into town. Not much activity nearby. Quick find and signed the log with our seal. Thanks for the smiley.

In the area today for a rendezvous with the PetBus so took advantage of the opportunity to grab a few caches. Thought this one might have been going to be a difficult find but fortunately was located very quickly. TFTC

Was about 8m out by my GPS but that's no guarantee. The purple one had what looked like a painful BM to remove the cache. TFTC.
The gps was off thought we needed to go into the bushes or something but eventually the little bro found it.
#9836. I had been up in Auckland for a couple of weeks and was planning on a big geocaching road trip heading home via Hamilton and Taranaki. But the world changed and COVID19 reared its ugly head once more so had to make a mad dash south back to Wellington. I stopped in Hamilton to stretch my legs and needed another break here in Taupo. Decided to pick up one cache on the way between the heavy rain showers. I used hand sanitiser before and after handling the cache to reduce the risk of any bugs being shared. Nice quick find once the GPS settled. Signed the logbook and replaced the cache where found. Thanks Yorkshire Kiwi for hiding it here. My next adventure was snow falling on the Desert Road!
Searched for it for quite some time as the gps was a bit wonky. But lovely little find. Just got some honey comb so I’m happy! Brought my sis down from Hamilton to do some SkyDiving. Taupo you are beautiful
Had us scratchin our heads but soon spoted the bootie, signed and returned.TFTC.
Stopped to get some honey, gps was terrible, searched for ages, thanks for the enjoyment though, had a great laugh when we finally found it.
Watched a large group at Rock'n Ropes. Got an ice cream at Honey Hive and explored the area. TFTC
weather real crappy today so why not go and do some caching.
we had no problems with this find

With (Mr) Davidson clan and Gap (of Fap and Gap) following closely behind. What does one do when the weather has packed up? Stay home or go caching… Stay home or go caching? Since when has a few drops of rain stopped us before? That’s why raincoats and umbrellas were invented.
We parked nearby and Mr DC jumped right into action. By the time we caught up, the cache had been found. This was a straight forward hide and in good order. Thanks Yorkshire_Kiwi and TFTC.

Squirrel Nutcase messaged to see if I wanted to go caching what a brilliant idea in this torrential rain I wasn’t doing anything else so wet weather gear on we headed south to Taupo for the afternoon managed to find all the caches we looked for but I was wet and cold by 8pm when we arrived home. I really enjoy these Saturday afternoon road trips I wonder where we will go next Saturday. Thanks to the CO’s for the hides.
Had to nip up to Taupo so thought we'd try a bit of rocking and roping while we were up there.
Traffic as usual was bedlam combined with the usual road works with traffic cones everywhere, making a slow trip. Took a short stroll while Punga homed in on the co-ords, and then made a quick find. Surprised to sign an FTF in the logbook. Then back through town and more mad traffic, before another slow drive back down the lakeside. It even stayed fine for us despite all the forecasts for rain. Quite a pleasant way to spend the day with a cache hunt in an area we hadn't visited for ages. TFTC.
