Great Northern escape 2022 Day 85. Townsville second visit Day 5. I thought I would give the caches out in the north near where I am staying a go. This was a bad move. I only found 3 out 8 in the north sore district. I then moved across town picking up caches as I headed to the trackable Letter box. n the way home I did two short walks on the castle that I could not do due to burning earlier in the week.

The collection if trinkets here and around the street is very impressive, and unlike this mornings garden, it all seems well maintained. I picked out the key item and located the container so I could sign the log.

Thanks for the cache CacheQLD

Today was a slow start, it was a catch up on some logging and then work out a plan for the day. It was 12 noon before we even thought of moving, lol. Ok, so we had a plan to collect some tree fishing caches and do grab a few as we drove past. There was a couple of challenge caches to sign and a lab bonus to collect. It may be a late start but we were still going to grab a bag load of caches.

It was a tree fishing afternoon, so many caches in this little area and all of them requiring a pole. Some were easy finds and some just requiring you to be at the right angle. There were even different versions of the model.
With logs signed and caches replaced as found, we continued on our walk around. Thank you to all the CO’s for the placements, all caches in good condition today. Oh a random in the mix of it all.

Out and about with chamad today collecting a few caches around Townsville. The plan was to focus on the labs and some targeted puzzles, and after collecting this cache we found a lot more close by which became must dos.
A great afternoon finding some fantastic caches! What a fantastic garden, very impressive.
Thanks CacheQLD for this great cache.

Found with the other Megatrons(Version 4) during a late afternoon of tree fishing.
We had a pretty good execution of all these.
We would all look for it…
I do the retrieval…
I flick the container back to the others for signing formalities while I bring the pole down…
Then I professionally place the container back where we found it…
We found a few of these in the dark and I had to use the force for retrieval and placing bsck(think of Anakin with his Jedi training) I am the Fishing Jedi…
In and out of most of these in about 3 mins each.

Thanks CacheQLD.

Out and about with Swearah and Jodsta83.

On our way over to this cache Swearah decided she would show me how good her land based belly flop was I would rate it a 10/10 gold metal for her . After lots of laughing we made sure she was alright. Even writing this log two days on I’m still laughing.

Once we got to gz the ladies made for a quick find while I was looking at the books and all the cute items around.

Thanks for bring us to this lovely little place.

#14126; Day twelve of the Townsville Mega adventure with Sol de lune. Spent the morning collecting caches close to our accommodation then working our way towards the racecourse for the Farewell event. Plenty of opportunities to deploy one of the ToTTs in our toolkit, which certainly earned its keep this morning as we worked our way through the "Townsville 2022" trail. Managed to retrieve sign and replace all of the caches on our morning mission, with logs signed L.L10n & Sdl or vice versa. I spent some time hunting for this one and met the nearby homeowner (who was lovely) as well, but it was Sdl who joined the dots and made the find here. TFTC CacheQLD Smile

Day 12 of the road trip to Townsville to with LuckyL10n and today all about the caches around town.

We started off near our hotel in Aitkenvale and drove out in ever increasing circles finding a cache as we went. At 1200 it was time to head back to the mega site for the farewell event and BBQ.

This cache:

Arrived at GZ and found the house owner out in the garden. She greeted us as if there was no problem with strange folk arriving at house early on a Sundary morning. We searched,as per the hint, and soon had the little cache in hand, A great garden and neat little cache.

Thanks for the cache....fav point added.

Love it . I had to do the crackle voice before others realised where it was . We then spoke to the owner of the house near by about the increased volume of visitors and her bush curlew family. Tftc

Awwww this is so cute!! Unfortunately I fully stacked it on the way (simply by walking ) and ate the dirt hard. I’m ok though, although maybe I need some “strolling through the grass” lessons.

Loved the container and this whole set-up!

Thanks for the cache, CacheQLD

This was a great little hide

16-Apr-22
This was quite a delight! The homeowner did not make an appearance - probably tired of talking to all the visitors this weekend Wink Found between tree-fishes while exploring lovely Townsville and surrounds during the CacheQld Townsville Mega, with DisSister and Dragonsky. TFTC, CacheQLD. =^.^=

In town for the mega, using caching as a guide to show us the best of what the region has to offer.

The residents were out in their yard, so I double checked they were ok for me to poke around. Cute hide!

Thanks CacheQLD for giving us a reason to visit.

I looked in the back of the GeoVehicle and found that I did not have my fishing pole so instead of doing a few more of those I chose to do this one. Which was a top idea, as it turned out. Beanies of all the different AFL teams as well as a knitted tree and many other different Knick Knacks. What more could you wish for in a cache.

Logging old caches originally found with alphag_25. Now have my own account and logging them separately so that I can claim the finds.

Took a bit of time to find this as I wasn’t familiar with the English version of this, but after quick googling the cache could be ‘uncovered’ very soon

I needed a trad today for an arduous Brisbane challenge I’ve signed. This one fit the bill, being quick, easy and close to work.

Nice little garden with lots to look at.

Thanks CacheQLD for creating and placing this for us to enjoy.

We definitely had fun with this. We had a nice chat with the lovely homeowner too. She has gone to so much effort to bring the street library to the community.

Sadly I hadn’t looked at this prior to getting the fishing stick and ladder out of the vehicle. I wondered why the arrow was pointing me there. No way was I going to pole fish about that display so I read the brief. An easy **FTF** as I’ve met a few of those in my time. Thanks CacheQLD and burgo78 for a wonderful hiding spot

This one is particularly cool! We didn’t need another tree fishing one, we needed this in our lives. Thanks committee and Burgo78!
