So sorry, but ewww. No fave points from me as they are my second least fave birds behind plovers. The way it was hanging there made it look like it was dead. Man. Anyway, TFTC I guess! lol. SL at 13:10pm.
Reperio 16:50Day 2 of my little escapade towards Albury for the weekend, and after spending the night at the Henry Angel Flat campground in Tumbarumba, it was up early to tackle the remaining caches along the Hume and Hovell Walking Track. Once back at the car, I made my way towards Albury for a fun weekend of caching and found plenty of caches along the way.Gratias ampitup1As a well spent day brings happy sleep, a well spent life brings happy death - LDV
Day 4 of the road trip. End goal in sight today. Rest stop #1 was here. Nice little hide thanks.
I needed a cache for the first of the month and thought I would target this one while in the area. The coordinates were about 10 m out. Nice container
Found by Mary and David at 10:00. Found about 8m north of our indicated GZ. Loved the cache guardian. Add our FP to the list. Our thanks to ampitup1.
With scramping, we searched for quite a while in amongst all the broken bushes and the surrounding trees. Found the insect nests but no cache. It might still be there, as it was at night by torchlight, we failed to find it this evening.
Hevwalker and I looked with torches for quite awhile, systematically searching the area. Found quite a few insect ( maybe wasp) nests, a birds nest and lots of prickly bushes, but no cache. It may or may not be there.
On a road trip, on my way to Canberra and thought I'd stop in to this one because of the likes. GPS was out a bit but soon found it.Thanks for the fun cache
Our last day in the Albury/Wodonga today , so we are having a final outing to collect a few unfound caches and do some labs before we head off tomorrowThanks for adding to our enjoyment of visiting the area.TFTC
1 weeks school holidays in the caravan was spent in Albury and Tallangatta. Ice-creams, book shops, board games as a family was the order of play. Took a step back to get the wasp that bit me bad, twice. Went to the other side to say hello to the magpie and signed the log.
Was up in Albury for a wedding this weekend. Had a tight schedule but had to find at least one cache for my NSW souvenir. So glad I chose this one, was a really cool cache and wasn't too hard to find. Tftc
#768 ~ Found this awesome cache with Krossbo and our muggle family who love to join us on the hunt when we are together. It was actually one of them who spotted this cache resting just out of site. TFTC & your creativity ampitup1
I could hear the Magpies I thought..... and there it was, the cache in all its glory. Found this one with Muddtrax on our homebound part of our holiday south of the border.TFTC
Out grabbing a cache while keeping the streak going. I can relate to this love hate relationship with maggies.A nice cahe to grab and given a fav. Thanks for placing the cache and doing the maintenance needed, so we can find this cache.
We joined in on the Canberra Albury Invasion or CAI fun this long weekend. After lots of puzzle solving and planning the time had come for a four day weekend of geocache hunting and hiking in and around the Albury/Wodonga area. We could not have picked a better weekend, we had great weather and avenged a couple of DNF's for us. Apologies for the generic log, thank you to all the cache owners for placing and maintaining the caches in this area, and for giving us a reason to come down the highway and visit this lovely area. Thanks for the hide ampitup1
fitzy_1965 and I headed towards Albury/Wodonga last night. We camped at the Ettamogah Pub before joining the rest of our friends in Albury today.A great day was had with us picking up lots of trads, multi's and pre-solved puzzles with the day ending in an event in the heart of Albury and a nice hotel room thanks to a Red Balloon voucher. The logs were primarily signed as CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury) unless otherwise stated.
33,786. Found with Team CIA23 - Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023.Our caching group has been eyeing off the Albury/Wodonga area for quite some time. After many months of hard work we had solved nearly all the area's puzzles, so we set a date and headed on down. CIA23 comprised of minniek, Joolay, Kittykatch, isopeda, barb2e, FurfacesLL, Tankengine, dty73, Sol de lune, LuckyL10n, albida33, Aykayem, smittengranny and myself. For part of one day we were joined by local Cacher Happy Feet 1. What a great weekend of caching with such a fun group of people. An event on the Saturday night also helped make the trip memorable. Quick find once at GZ. Signed the log as CIA23, replaced the cache as found, then headed off to the next one on our list. Thanks the_stephenson5 !!
#18883; Day 2 of the Canberra Invasion of Albury 2023 weekend, which had been preceded by much head scratching and puzzle solving to prepare. Our merry band comprised of Sol de lune, albida33, Smittengranny, Kittykatch, Joolay, FurfacesLL, Barb2e and isopeda, along with yours truly, were joined by dty, tankengine, aykayem, minniek and fitzy_65 for a day of action today. Started the day to the north of town and then worked our way south, east and west as we gathered caches. Some finds were difficult as were some of the puzzles and some were easier. Some we didn't find at all! All up 103 finds, one event at the end of the day and nine DNFs for me today. Logs were again signed CIA23. Most of the caches we found were in good order. Apologies for the generic logs, but by the end of the day, like the body, the mind was slowing down as well! Thanks to all of the cache owners for helping make a great weekend for our Canberra caching fraternity. TFTC ampitup1
Day 2 of the Canberra invasion weekend of Albury. Being ex an Canberran, I headed up to join in the fun of the weekend with LuckyL10n, Albida33, fitzy_1965, minniek, tankengine, dty73, Joolay, KittyKatch, Smittengranny, Isopeda, Barbe2e and FFLL. Today we started to the north of Albury and headed towards the CBD, grabbing caches on both sides of the freeway as we went. Lots of pre solved puzzles, along with a number of traditionals, were found during the day. Unfortunately we had a few DNF's as well. Thanks to all the CO's for the caches...and the fun we had over the weekend. Logs were signed CIA (Canberra Invasion Albury)...
Day 2 of our Albury Trip. For the last few weeks a group of us sat together and solved lots of puzzles for this weekend. Today, SmittenGranny, barb2e, Kittykatch, albida33, FurfacesLL, Joolay, Sol de Lune, LuckyL1On, MinnieK, Fitzy_65, Tankengine, DTY73, Aykayem and me went around Albury and found puzzles, multies, trads, ALs and a virtual etc. To save log space we are signing as CIA (aka Canberra invasion of Albury). The puzzles were all quite interesting, the hides sometimes hard. Sorry for the generic logs. Caching in the group makes logging hard. TFTC
Day 2 of our Canberra (plus 3) Invasion of Albury. It was a beautiful sunny day as we set out in search of presolved caches. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining these caches that enticed us down here. Cache found and log signed as CIA or CAI.
Day 2 of our Canberra trip to Albury and a few extras in our group today. Signing as CIA for Canberra Invasion of Albury. Tftc
Slowly getting around to finding a long list of Yamutha puzzles. Today I’m in town kid free again so I’m hopeful that I’ll pick up a few.
A trad in the mix and a well themed cache. Glad to see these fellas like this rather than swooping me on my bike.

Found with the CO while out and about. Great little cache and loved the story too
Having visited the Murray Railway Modellers show, we were now on the lookout for a cache to find whilst in NSW. This one seemed to fit the bill nicely and gave us a short walk as well! Signed the cute cache at 10.56am. We have a few friendly magpies who visit us regularly, so our relationship with magpies is a love one. #9890 TFTC Nicole - and now it is time for morning tea somewhere warm and cosy.
Like Harowang before us, Boot had also been to the railway train exhibition close by.
GPS was a few metres out but we looked up and down all around GZ and the cache guard was easy to spot.
Spotted a few magpies as we got out of the car too!

I was up in Albury / Wodonga to attend the Red Hot Summer Tour concert that was held over the weekend at the Gateway Lakes Park in Wodonga.
Paul Kelly did an awesome job in entertaining us at the end of the night.
It was time to head home so I got up early and after a quick breakfast I thought that there is always time for just one more.
I know the feeling I have been hit on the back of my bike helmet a few times and it is not fun.
Luckily for me no swoopers around here today.
A quick search and after adding my name to the log I was on my way.
A fav goes out to you for this one.
Thanks the_stephenson5 TFTC.

The end of the week came around and there were a few thing going on in the day. During the morning I went caching out to Murrumbateman with Smitten Granny. We started at the show grounds and then did a few along the highway including one very impressive tree climb. After Lunch a trip to Albury for a specific D/T cache started. Joolay, Kitty Katch & I set off around 2pm and pretty much drove non stop to Albury. There was a little time for a few caches before dinner and one after dinner. Tomorrow will be a walk and a forest explore for several puzzle caches.
We parked on the roadside and walked up to the walking trail. GZ took us to the wrong side of the bush and the outer container eluded us for way too long. When it was seen it was well worth a laugh. Very impressive.

Coords a bit off but expanded our search and soon found it.
Thanks for getting me out and about the_stephenson5

Great to be picking up some of the many puzzles and multis solved over many months and trips, as well as collecting letterboxes, trads, counties and whatever else was in my path.
So many logs are the worse for wear from all of the flooding and wet weather events.
This was a great solve some months back with a puzzle group, and a quick and easy find here today. Spotted a most unusual bird in a nearby tree, and some birds calls too. Cute!
Thanks so much the_stephenson5 for getting us out and about, and for the adventure highlights .

p-pprass's favourite bird even though he got swooped when he was 7 years old and blood poured from a gash in his scalp!
Looking looking for a micro and you miss the forest for the trees! After reading a previous log, it was realised what to look for and the cache was found quickly after that.
Thanks the_stephenson5.
Feedback: It is a contentious issue as to how to rate a cache size when you place a micro into a larger "container". We always rate the size based on the overall size of the cache hide as that is what you will be looking for - consequently this would be a "Regular" in size and not a "Micro"

Found it! That’s so cute!
We were walking on the path and my mum just said “hey look at that bird in there!”
Then I said “oh yeah it’s a magpie!”
I Signed the log, thank you!

Almost forgot to grab a cache for International Geocaching day. Had a quick look at the map to see what was about and spotted this one. Have ridden past this location many times not realising that this was here. Headed out to grab this and after a quick search we soon spotted this one. Great hide
Was looking for the wrong thing. Friend and I both yelled. Tftc! Hearts racing
This one has been on my to-do list for ages, and today I had the ability to enjoy visiting this one finally and signing it off (well...hopefully).
I have a magpie colony up where I reside and they seem to look after me ok. That said, I wonder what would happen if I wasn't feeding them?
Stopped nearby and sauntered up to GZ, constantly looking for muggles but feeling confident I could have a relaxed look here.
No-one around, and so I focused my limited senses on the search for the hide.
Thought for a bit that this one might just take a while longer to locate then it probably should, but it was all ok as I soon spotted the nifty hide.
SL at 2.30pm. All ok with the cache.
Fantastic find! Loved it. A favourite point from me.

Quick grab on our way home from soccer. Found and signed by the germ free one... Magpie isn't sitting on his perch anymore... he's hanging under it. Tried to fix but eldest got covered in murky water. I ran off laughing before I was covered in it too! Tftc & souvenir
After grabbing a puzzle cache nearby I thought I'd grab this one. Got a real shock when I finally sighted the cache, haha, great cache.
TFTC. We are keeping a steak alive while being stuck in Albury/Wodonga for the last three weeks. We were in town having lunch it’s friends. After a long lunch we ventured here. Parked close by and made the find.
Magpies were not a favourite of mine while cycling but they do have a melodic tune to wake up with.

The first of my TWOsday caches! I took a hesitant step back until I realised I found the prize quite quickly!!! A FP from me!!!
Heading home, after a great weekend with Team Crackers.
We have quite a few magpies visit us on our property, and we like feeding them.
Found a suitable parking spot, and heading into the bush for a look.
A quick find, signed and replaced.
Many thanks for placing this cache, the_stephenson5, for us and others to find.

It’s MEGA Road Trip time!! A plan is hatched and we are good to go.
DAY NINE: More Albury & Wodonga solved puzzles.
This one came highly recommended as a must-do by one of the local cachers, so we added it to today’s list.
I have a love-hate relationship with magpies. Don’t particularly like it when they swoop, but do like their morning warble.
Awesome hide! A fav point heading your way.

Day #9 of the MEGA road trip. Still based at Ettamogah Pub for the last night. I need to grab a handful of caches in Wodonga, as this is the last LGA in my Victorian challenge to complete. Then we are continuing the yamutha puzzle fest (and catching up with the CO at some point hopefully). The plan is always to end up back at camp early afternoon to relax in the hammocks, although I’m sure you can imagine how well that plan seems to work out.
We stopped in to grab this nearby cache on a recommendation from yamutha. A cool hide at GZ here.
Thanks the_stephenson5 for placing this gamepiece in the wild for us to find.

Out for a walk whilst staying with family for Christmas. Always great to explore new areas. I think my gps was a little off tonight. Probably due to the heat. A wander around the bush soon had me laughing at this great cache. Thank you
We had escaped the heat today by hanging out at the pictures watching the new Matrix film…it certainly wasn’t like the original franchise, more of a love story really…
But I digress….
So we were on our way back home via an American fast food outlet to grab some frozen cokes, and we decided to swing by here to pick up one the closest unfound caches close to home.
Dad went solo as the ladies had to stay in the car to make sure the air con still worked OK, and I rocked up to GZ and spent too much time looking in the wrong spot until the penny dropped….I tell you what, that’s a pretty cool cache really.
Log signed and back to the cool of the car.
Cheers

Back in town for Christmas and swinging around Albury picking up new and previously attempteds. This is new, and a hide that I helped create a duplicate of back in Brisbane earlier this year. There truly is nothing new under the geosun. Nice job here.
Thanks the_stephenson5 for entertaining me at this location.

I too have a love hate relationship with magpies !!! I can confirm there was no swooping at GZ, but certainly a fright, was not expecting that, signed the log while being watched by the cache guardian, TFTC the_stephenson5
Had an appointment up this way and wanted a cache for the day (trying a streak for the latest souvenir) so dropped in here on the way back to the office. A nice quiet time to visit.
Only one magpie present and not swooping - I also have had fun (the one in Myrtleford Pioneer Cemetery probably the meanest) with this species but I still like them. Did have a Brown Falcon fly over which was cool.
Log easily signed and a favourite point added - nice work.

Quick find on a beautiful afternoon with jackez74, loved the cache. TFTC also gets a favourite for this one. Hope it doesn’t get muggled.
Wow, a brand newbie. I am here visiting my old stomping ground with OZREG and was pleasantly surprised by the new caches that are popping up here and there. This one is sure to attract alot of attention. Love the container. This one sure is tame compared to some of the others we get to see; or maybe not see, but feel! Thanks to the_stephenson5 for this novel hide.
Catnap777 in area for a short term. So we together decided on grabbing some caches in the same home town as the Cache owners. This and approximately 4 other caches will diminish the number of green icons on my map. No cable ties required Thanks Stephensons5
Love this.
Not of fan of magpies but this is an exception.
Just started to rain when we went for this one. So a quick grab and back to the warmth of the car.
